Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]
Today is 3/**/14 and I have not yet received check #[redacted]for $93.78 which Hiko said was mailed on 3/**/14. Also, they make no mention of the refund for the February 2014 overcharge of $158.61.
The February 2014 Monthly Statement states that the PSE&G charge would have been $69.59. Ten percent off that PSE&G charge, as promised in the original sales call in February 2013, equals $62.63. The Hiko Energy charge was $221.24. Subtracting: $221.24 minus $62.63 equals an overcharge of $158.61. I am still due that refund.

Hiko still does not address that their rate is completely not disclosed on their website. The only rate reference was on energizect. The proposed resolution is rejected and Hiko has not resolved my complaint.

The customer states he never agreed to enroll but according to our records the customer agreed to the term and conditions of the third party verification enrollment. As per our rates because this winter we’ve seen some of the harshest weather in years. The cold affected electricity generation systems, particularly natural gas, in the Mid-Atlantic and the Northeast such that supply weakened and prices skyrocketed, catching many homeowners and business by surprise. Regarding our offers and rates, the rate that we offer is a variable rate with savings over the course of one year plus one free month of energy supply after 12 months of services. Because our rates went up to reflect our cost, our call volume also drastically increased, but to ensure that customers are able to reach us, we have doubled our Customer Service staff. We will do a courtesy rate adjustment and reach out to customer via email of our final resolution.

Upon thorough review of this new complaint, we had resolved the disputed amount 03/**/2014 through the first complaint # [redacted]and issued a refund check of $35.92. Based on PSEG posted rate for the supply charges in question, PSEG would have charged the customer $28.39 for the electric and gas. HIKOS’s total supply charges for both gas and electric equals $64.31 minus the refund of $35.92 = $28.39. We feel that we have been compliant and at this point there is nothing further that we can offer this customer.

My bill has duplicated in cost. Now I'm being asked to pay this balance in full or I'll receive a turn off...

notice. Why? You were supposed to reduce my energy and gas bill. This would have resulted in my continued business. However, this did not happened. Before Hiko, my monthly bill was $120.00. It is now double that!

Hiko Energy responded to me, not after my complaint with the Revdex.com, but after I sent another email after I filed a complaint with the Attorney General. At that point they offered me $271 because of my $871 increase in my bill. Since my complaint I received another bill that is over $700 more than it should be. Hiko Energy assured me that I was canceled as of Feb. [redacted], however, I received another bill with their charges up til the [redacted]of March. I am now out $1500 from HIKO Energy overage charges. The $271 they are offereing does not satisfy my complaint. Also, the message I was sent is the same response to all others verbatim.

You overcharged me 430.46(301.98 for Feb and 128.73 for Mar) and only refund me 164.86. This is unresolved. I request HIKO refund me the rest of 265.6.

On March **, 2014 we had informed the customer about the free month of supply service and per his request we emailed the Terms and Conditions of the offer. He was informed that a bill copy must be mailed to us but if he faxed a copy we will be able to expedite the process. On March **, 2014 the customer requested a direct bill credit to be applied on his PECO Bill instead of the check refund. Unfortunately because PECO has total control over the billing process Hiko Energy cannot process this request. To this date we have not received the bill copy from the customer.
In order to come to a resolution we will process the free month supply offer without the bill copy. We will be sending $744.46 refund check and the customer should receive it between 1 to 3 weeks.

[Your Answer Here]They have done nothing to resolve issue.  Nothing,  nothing, nothing!  Yes I did file with the attorney general because they are ripping us off.  They say they have done everything.....they have never called or written except once and I called them back and they attempted to bully me into agreeing that I had agreed to whatever they chose to raise my bill to and basically told me there was nothing that could be done about it, which I guess is true because this is just back and forth every week with nothing resolved.  Just leave me publically unresolved because its obvious they are doing what they do because laws are not in place to protect the American people from robbers like this company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The letter by Hyko Energy does not reply on the real question: why were they among very few companies that increased the rates of electric energy 350% during the coldest months of the year. The issue is not that I spent more energy to heat the house (that was not part of my complaint and it was somewhat insulting to even mention that as a justification of the sky-high bill). The issue is that the price of the electric energy was increased from $0.08/kWh to $0.29/kWh from December to January, and only a few companies, even among those offering variable rates, have done it. It is not an accident that these companies (including Hyko) are now been investigated by the Pennsylvania  Attorney General, because there is a strong suspicion of price gauging. Then, they mention that 9 out of 11 months that we were with them, the price was lower than the posted comparison price. Well, during the months when the price was lower than the posted comparison price, it was lower by some fractions of cent or a couple of cents at most. During the months when  price was her than the comparable price, we are talking about 350% difference, which means that overall we are expected to pay much, much more than the customers in competing companies. I assume that because of the unviable and unsustainable business model, HYKO is trying to extract as much money out of customers as possible before going of business. These rates and treatment of customers do not make any sense. For weeks now I am trying to talk to somebody over there that has a power of decision, but those people are impossible to be reached. This response is not satisfactory, neither it addresses the root of the problem.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]Hiko has not offered any restitution for the February 2014 overcharge of $158.61 and continues to stonewall me after my complaints to their customer service representatives. The representatives say they will forward my information to a supervisor who will contact me.
To reiterate, the original agreement's "Initial Term" was for one year and Hiko insists it was six month even though their NJ NATURAL GAS SUPPLY AGREEMENT specifies one year. February 2014 falls within the initial period of one year.
