This is a great program for ones who are not able to qualify for a mortgage, but should be able to in the near future.

Pathlight Management Response • Mar 02, 2020

Hello Corinne, thank you for the positive feedback!

I wish I could give a negative amount of stars. I have rented with many rental agencies over the years and have never had so many and such severe problems with every aspect of the process.

When we first applied for a house that we loved we were told the process would take 3 days. It took 2 weeks. When we finally got the news we were approved we were very excited, only to find out the house we applied for was given to another renter and we were not told. They told us go on the website and find another house. We found another house that we liked (which was advertised on their website and they took us on a tour of.) They told us the next day that we couldn't rent the house because they decided not to buy it because planes take off too close to it. We found yet another house that we liked and signed papers. We moved in and after a month of LIVING IN THIS HOUSE, home partners sent someone to inspect the house and decided not to buy it. We were told to be out in less than 48 hours. We had just moved to Utah from Michigan and with nowhere to go we were going to be homeless if it had not for a kind friend in the area who rented us their house for a month while we looked for new housing. There was no compensation for all our moving costs. We finally signed new papers for the house we are in now and when we moved in we saw amenities were missing. We called Home partners and they told us that they had 'forgotten' to request that the previous owners leave amenities that we had requested. In short, home partners said "sorry but we aren't going to do anything about our mistake." There have been nothing but problems since we moved in.

We moved our utilities into our name, as they requested and a week later we saw a charge on our account for not doing so. I called our utilities provider and was told that home partners had put the utilities back in their name... and then was charging us for it! It has taken months and countless emails and phone calls to get the reimbursements, which as of now we have only been given back about 1/3 of the money we are owed. There is terrible communication on their part and we have been told that we need to go about getting the reimbursements in so many ways.

We have also had our dishwasher break and requested a broken window to be fixed. When we put in a request to get it fixed no-one got back to us. We called back and asked what was going on and we were told that the request had been cancelled because someone had forgotten to send us the request for the information that they needed, so they just cancelled it without talking to us. We put the requests back in and about 10 days later the washer was fixed but no word on the window. We called back to find out the window request had been cancelled AGAIN and they couldn't tell us why that happened. They still have yet to fix the window.

There have been many other smaller issues that would take so long to detail. This company has the worst communication, they have no concern for the people with whom they are doing business and try to take extra money from us at every turn. There have been multiple fees we were not informed of. I have never worked with a more frustrating and aggravating company and I am so disappointed in the entire experience. I am counting down the days until I no longer have this incredible stressor to deal with. We are considering legal actions for some of these issues. DO NOT rent or buy with this agency.

This program allowed us to pick our home and live in it prior to purchasing. The process was straightforward, easy and it worked. We lived in the house for 11 months and purchased it today! The purchasing team answered all of our questions promptly and made the process so easy. We were able to buy our dream home. Thank you!

Completed a application and was denied for services. Received an email and was told if I wanted an explanation of why I was denied to send and email. I sent 3 emails and called 3 times with my Relator and no one had ever gotten back to me. They also stated that a letter would be sent to me and no letter has been received. I requested a refund because they have failed to give me an explanation of why I was denied and have not received anything.

Great program. Allows people to get into homes. And comparing prices of their rentals to a mortgage for first time home buyers, they we pretty spot on. Personally, I think the program is awesome

Thank you for your feedback, Danielle!

CAN’T BELIEVE THIS…*** IS TRYING TO SCARED US OUT OF THE HOME… CRAZY BUSINESS PRACTICES.
I received a call ON 12/31/19 from a person claiming to be from HomePartners Corporate office at 9.27pm from phone number . I started telling him the first issue that I was having with *** about the master shower and how it looked like it was burned. He interrupted me and said that me was going to put me on hold because he had a question to ask his manager. He didn’t really put me on hold on purpose so I could hear the whole conversation with him and his “manager.” He starts telling the manager how there was a murder/suicide in the home and that the man burned himself up in the master shower and that there have been “hauntings” and we are in danger and that every person that lived in the house before us as died…REALLY? LOL. He then goes on to ask the manager what he should do and she told him just to act like nothing is wrong with the home. He gets on the phone with me and I told him what I heard and he starts playing this “scary” recording of ghosts of some sort…lol. Then he asked me if there have been strange things happening in the home and to keep a journal of when things are happening in the house. I put him on speaker for my husband to hear.

Then he starts insulting me because I wouldn’t put my husband on the phone. He started yelling at me to put my husband on the phone. He said I need to take my tampon out, he called me a controlling *** a *** that I’m using Ebonics, he said that he wanted to speak to the head *** in charge. We started recording him saying all this. I hung up on him. He called back three times and I blocked his number and then he called back from a different number –
I don’t believe that this person was from HomePartners because HomePartners have more class than doing something stupid and ridiculous like this.
Let’s stop playing these stupid games ***. YOU WANT ME OUT OF THIS HOUSE AND I DEFINITELY WANT TO BE OUT OF THIS HOUSE – LET’S BE DONE WITH THIS!!!! I can’t believe you all would go this low just to get me out of the house. How about we both mutually terminate the lease. I will not pay a penalty of two months and you will not put this as me breaking the lease on any rental verification systems, legal action, credit reports, etc. and return my security deposit. Like I said before, I don’t have a problem with you putting the home online for lease and I will show the home because I am a Real Estate agent. But what I will not tolerant is you having some *** and *** call me and try to scared me out the house… YOU SHOULD HAVE USE BETTER ACTORS because they SUCKED!!!
Let’s discuss this. My phone number is .
I want to be done with *** Property Management for good!!!!

RE: Revdex.com Case Number *** (Leisa L. ***)

Dear Customer Relations Advocate:

We write to you in response to Complaint #***. Before addressing the specifics of the Complaint, we want to provide background on Home Partners of America, Inc. and its business model. Home Partners of America, Inc., formerly known as Hyperion Homes, launched in November 2012 and is committed to making homeownership a reality for more people through its Lease Purchase program. Our Lease Purchase program is resident-led, whereby approved individuals who have applied to our program work with a licensed real estate agent in their desired geographic area to select the home of their choice from available for-sale housing stock in areas in which we invest. If the home that has been selected by the prospective resident meets Home Partners’ eligibility criteria, we will try to purchase the home from the seller. If we are successful and buy the home, we lease it to the prospective resident. Home Partners also grants the resident the right to purchase the home during the term of the lease.

With respect to the referenced Case, we respond as follows:

*** Property Management, Home Partners’ property management company (“***”), had been in direct contact with Ms. regarding the maintenance issue at her home prior to the referenced phone call. We have confirmed that no employee of either *** or Home Partners placed the call she describes. The phone number that Ms. provided does not match any *** or Home Partners phone number. In addition, we searched our database for the names that Ms. provided to us separately and verified that there are no such individuals employed at either company. While we regret that Ms. received such an alarming call, we have verified that the call was not made by any person affiliated with *** or Home Partners.

We at no time wanted or requested that Ms. move from her home. Nonetheless, per her request, we have approved an early termination of her lease without penalty provided she give us a 60 days' notice to vacate. Ms. may contact the management team for further assistance to facilitate the early termination of her lease or if she has any additional questions or concerns, at south@***mgt.com or .

Home Partners prides itself on its good faith, transparent and fair dealing approach with consumers. We welcome the opportunity to discuss our business with you in greater detail, and encourage you to visit our website at www.homepartners.com for more information.

Very truly yours,

Home Partners of America, Inc.
