Indigo Park Canada Inc. Calgary branch Reviews (%countItem)

I think its absolute insanity that this company would not throw the ticket out after proof was given on a parking pass in place. Also, no way shape or form have they tried to lower the amount because of the fact that I am a patron of their lot and have been for over a year which has provided you over $1,872 from just my single mother salary alone.

Also, have your parking median blocks in disrepair for over 6 months which have been shifted due to unknown reasons which leaves exposed rebar which could cause serious damage to tires and vehicles. This has also been advises to them to repair but you have not fixed.

Unethical business policy, requesting additional payment above and beyond via 'ticketing', extremely poor customer service.
I paid for parking using the Indigo App on March 25. I do find the app very useful and handy, but it is not foolproof as it defaults on settings. On March 25 I drive my wives car and paid for parking on my own car. I called March 26 to have the ticket reversed as I did pay for parking, using the Indigo app, but the licence plate was wrong. A quick check from Indigo confirmed this, but then requested that they would not reverse the ticket. They demanded at least $25 in addition to my already paying for parking and would not connect me with a manager to discuss the issue further. We can do much better in Canada. This is unethical and poor customer service.

Initial Business Response /(1000, 24, 2019/05/08) */
Hello, We had reviewed the notice issued on March 25th 2019. When patrolling the property, we do have to search our system for the vehicles license plate to ensure payment has been made for the parking. If the license plate has been incorrectly entered, we are unable to validate the parking for this vehicle. We do encourage consumers to check the receipt once they have paid to ensure the correct information has been processed. Should an error be made when paying, you can contact us to report the issue, and we can advise patrollers of the situation before a notice has been issued. Once a notice has been issued, and is valid; we can only reduce the amount to the administration fee of $25.00. We see we had reduced the fee from $65 to $25 for this notice.Thank you

They sent me a parking ticket even thought I paid and have proof that I did.
I parked in one of their parking lots and paid for parking (I have proof) however, they sent me a parking ticket due to putting my license in incorrectly. I sent them proof in the mail and they confirmed to me that they have the payment. But they are still making me pay $110 fine for putting the incorrect license and they are taking my $22 dollar that I already paid. Since I have proof that I paid they should have reversed the ticket.

Required parking fee paid, mistake made entering license plate, ticket issued, Indigo will not rescind ticket.
March 14, 2019 - Daily parking fee of $19.00 paid at Indigo Parking Lot #88, Centre 10, Calgary.

I have been parking at this lot daily for some time, and almost every time I have parked my car with license plate ***. On this date I had loaned that vehicle to a friend and parked a different vehicle, license ***. I mistakenly entered the *** plate number. I was issued a ticket of $65.00.
After calling Indigo it was verified by them that they did receive the daily parking amount, however, as I made a mistake entering the plate number, they will not rescind the ticket.
One (semi-understandable) reason I was given was that there was no way for them to determine that the *** car was not in the lot as well that day.
It was explained to them that I can show the record of payment daily for some time, that the *** license has been entered in the past, that I am able to provide a written, signed letter from my friend to indicate that she had the *** car the entire day, nowhere close to the parking lot, and that both of these vehicles are registered to me.
My explanation that it would be extremely strange to park one of my vehicle's in the lot, pay for it, then return home via some other transportation to drive my other vehicle to the same lot and hope that I can get away with free parking for that vehicle didn't seem to help.
Indigo did receive the money they are entitled to on that day for my vehicle that was parked in their spot.

One expects when there is a mistake that steps will be taken to rectify it. When there is a misunderstanding one expects that a discussion will clear the air. This company accepts NO responsibility for their actions. When their equipment is not functioning well and a guest inputs an extra letter in front of licence plate number, but does put the receipt on the windshield so anyone looking can see that the intention is correct. This company does not care and issues a ticket within the time slot allocated on the receipt. There is then NO discussion - the fault is solely the guests. The officious receptionist will NOT allow any discussion, NOR allow speaking to a manager. Letters written are NOT acknowledged, but they continue to send letters of harassment to the guest. On visiting their office still there is NO discussion and NO ability to speak to a manager. The fault lies with the guest..... remember the ticket was issued during the allotted time on the receipt. Before reading these posts about INDIGO's awful treatment of others I thought if one could just get past the receptionist others would be more reasonable, but I've come to believe this is their agenda. What Calgary needs is a Parking Ombundsman who will review uncivil behaviour of companies in this business.

Worst customer service, do not return phone calls for weeks. They issued me a wrong ticket. I was late a few minutes to pay the second hour but paid as soon as I could, total 28$ for 2 hours. The parking attendant told me as long as I paid the second hour, they will reverse my ticket. I just have to call them. It never happened, then I went to look at my ticket online, it went from $65 to $110 in one month. They never answer any phone calls, it goes straight to answering machine. They should not be in business!

Being fined for parking space even though I've provided proof of payment with parking receipt and bank statement
On Sept 17, I parked my car in the 9th ave downtown lot. I had driven my husbands car as a last minute change, and unfortunately and accidentally entered my cars license plate number into the payment machine, instead of his. I paid for the time I was there, collected a receipt and went to my appointment. When I got back to my car, I was shocked to see the parking ticket. I realized then what I had done- entered my car license plate instead of my husbands. No problem, I thought, I'll send Indigo a letter with my parking receipt, the ticket, and a copy of my bank statement showing the charge. I explained what I had done, a completely plausible error. My letter was ignored and I received an automatic letter saying my fine had increased. I sent a second letter at the end of January, once again stating the issue, copies of my receipt and bank statement and requesting the fine be removed. I finally heard back from them in a letter stating they couldn't verify my Payment and the fine still stood. Ethically and legally, how is this even allowed? I have clear proof in two forms that I paid for the physical spot of my car, and yet they're trying to make more money off of me, using the threat of legal action or collections. I can provide *** copies of my parking receipt, bank statement and the parking ticket, as well as evidence of my license plate number and my husbands. At the very least, it's a matter of being a decent and reasonable business and so far that has not been my experience at all.

Ticket violation

I parked in lot 0045/Calgary on Jan 31st.
I paid the day rate of $37 but the app requires you to all input the number of hours you will be there.
I selected 8 hours (putting my exit around 5pm).
I didn't exit until 6:10pm and was fined $65 for staying past 5pm. .... but I paid that MAXIMUM to park there for a DAY.

I have written 2 emails requesting the ticket be cancelled.
I have called the number. Once leaving a message to call me back as "they were experiencing higher than expected call volume". And another where they answered and promptly put me on hold ... indefinitely (like over 60 minutes).

What is this how Indigo choses to do business?
Falsely advertising a day rate ... then ticketing because your app requires you to input an exit time vs. letting the day rate set the hour?
Non existent customer service??

Indigo Park Canada Inc. Calgary branch Response • Feb 26, 2019

Final Consumer Response /(2000, 6, 2019/02/25) */
The company contacted me on Thursday, Feb 21 to confirm they have rescinded the ticket.

I received a parking ticket at a previously unidentified lot area, and no warning notices or signs were given/noted prior to the day of infraction.
TIMELINE:
Friday, January 25, 2019
Received a parking ticket (notice #***) at a parking lot (Lot#***, Location: ***) that I had been parking for over 8 years.
Called that afternoon and spoke with Carly (Indigo violations dept), and she said she will review and get back to me next week.

Thursday, January 31, 2019
Still waiting for response/call.
Called and left a message for Carly or someone to get back to me.

Still waiting for response/call.
Called and left a message for Carly or someone to get back to me.

Tuesday, February 5, 2019
Carly called me and said the final decision for the parking fine is $25.

MY CASE:

Since about December, 2011 I have been parking in an unused, idle and what appears abandoned parking lot. There were no parking restrictions or private property signs on the parking lot. The parking lot is adjacent to the COOP grocery store, and could have been identified as part of the business establishment's parking (although, again, there were no signs indicating of same). There are no other buildings close to the parking lot. For over SEVEN years I have been parking at the same unidentified parking lot with no issues/concerns. Then on January 25, 2019 I was issued a parking notice/ticket, and saw that a private property/parking patrol sign had gone up on the parking lot. I had been parking at the same parking lot for that entire week Monday thru Friday, and only received the ticket and noticed the sign on Friday (January 25, 2019), the day of the infraction.

I have NEVER had a parking violation before.

When I talked to Carly (Indigo Violations) she mentioned that the parking lot is a new one that they have started monitoring and that part of their policy is to issue warning notices to vehicles improperly parked in the new lot. However, I explained to her that I had not received a warning notice prior to the day of the parking infraction (and did not notice the sign that went up on that day). Carly says the sign is there now and that I have to pay $25 for the parking infraction.

I am sad, disappointed, and stressed out that Indigo can just put up signs at a (previously) unidentified parking area and start ticketing vehicles unannounced without giving out warning notices. I feel this is an unfair practice and that they did not proceed, as according to their own policies, of giving out warning notices.

I've tried to contact Indigo multiple times for a week and never got a response regarding two parking tickets that I am disputing.
I went away on a weekend trip and parked downtown in my boyfriends truck. I paid for parking in the lot (*** - ***) for the entire weekend (Friday 1 PM to Sunday 11 PM), but due to being in a rush, I selected the wrong license plate. The license plate that I selected was my own car that wasn't there (***), and the license plate that was in the lot was ***. I have both license plates on the mobile application, which is why the mix up occurred. When we came back on Sunday night, we noticed we had two parking tickets from the weekend, and I was extremely confused since I had paid for parking for the whole weekend. After looking further, I realized I made a mistake and wanted to dispute my claim. Since the parking ticket needed to be paid in 10 days after issued before the price went up, I have been calling and emailing the Indigo Parking office to try and speak with someone about this issue so the problem can be resolved. I have left multiple messages in the last five days, and haven't heard a response. Their website promises a response in 1-2 business days, and it has now been 5 and I haven't heard anything. Details of tickets are as follows:

Business incorrectly submitted my account to collections and is negatively impacting my credit score
On September 1, 2017, I paid my final monthly parking invoice with WestPark (acquired by Indigo Parking) for a total of $179.38. Subsequent to this payment and unbeknownst to me, my account was sent to ***. I recently discovered that this incidence has been negatively impacting my credit score when I was trying to apply for a credit card. I have reached out to both the collections agency and Indigo to explain a mistake has been made and continue to be ignored. I showed evidence of payment via my credit card statement and was still not listened too by the staff at Indigo. I am seeking immediate removal of this claim from my credit report to avoid further damages. I will forward my invoice and proof of payment as support. Thank you for considering my case. Regards

I have started to rent my parking spot from this company and terminated the services after a few months. I still have not been given my deposit back.
I started parking on September 15, 2018 and notified the company that I will terminate the parking on October 31, 2018. I have a confirmation of email confirming the same. It has been months and despite my request to return my deposit back, they have simply ignored my request and also said due to the Christmas holidays they were too busy. I have been patient and waited until now and still they have not returned my parking deposit of $25.00. It is a small amount however Indigo has no excuse not to return it. I even returned my parking pass on October 24, 2018 earlier than the termination date.

What a cash grab operation this company is?
What a cash grab operation this company is! I parked my rental car on January 10, 2019 in Lot 288 by Sears at North Hill Mall in Calgary. From the Indigo machine kiosk (Meter #***), I paid the daily parking rate until 6pm of $8.00 on my credit card and got a payment receipt (Trans. #***). At 5pm, I received a violation notice (# ***) between the windshield and the wiper. I noticed that I absentmindedly put in my car's license plate which was in for repair instead of the rental car one.
To discuss my parking violation notice with Indigo was a chore via the Calgary office phone number and the Indigo website, https://ca.parkindigo.com . I left at least 6 voice messages and sent 3 website form messages between January 11th and January 18th. They promised to get back to me in 1 to 2 days. I never received a response.
I went to Indigo's downtown Calgary office on January 18th to sort this issue out and had my vehicle registration, car repair invoice, payment receipt, car rental agreement and the violation notice in hand. I received less than stellar service from Jodi ***, guest manager. I explained my situation and that I had paid for the parking space anyway. Her response was to have me read the back of the payment receipt with their liability note that "we rent space only; this ticket is not transferrable". She indicated that they cannot get access to the payment on the system. Her final response was that she could reduce the violation fee from $65 to $25. Basically, I paid $8 plus $25 = $33 in total of a day rate parking spot. What a rip off! I will never park at any of the parking spaces again.

Issued parking violation, paid parking but the machine would not print receipt, visa was charged. Will not cancel due to old violation, not aware of.
Violation Notice #*** received, the machine would not print my ticket so I could not display it. Paid by visa transaction number: *** has already processed through to my visa account. Indigo will not cancel even though they have my payment due to an 13 month old violation I have not been made aware of. No contact form them was made regarding this old violation.

I was issued a parking ticket when I had paid the lot fee. the ticket was given minutes after I paid to park in the lot.
December 5th 2018, I paid the fare to park in the parking lot and proceeded to the pub for lunch. when I returned there ws a ticket waiting stating I didn't pay the fee and I had left the lot. I saw the indigo parking lot attendant when I paid the fee, it would have been impossible from his location to see anything going on behind the vehicles he was inspecting for tickets let alone to be able to see me walking to the pub on the other side of the parking lot. I still have the fee paid ticket which was displayed in my vehicle along with pictures of right after I placed it on the dash.

I don't even want to give them even one star. I have had two "run-ins" with this company. On the first occasion, my two hours of free parking at the *** nursing home had expired and I'd PAID for extra parking. My license plate was entered correctly and guess what? I was ticketed during the period I had PAID for. They don't return calls, and they are difficult to deal with if you have a problem. Needless to say, I was not impressed.

On the second occasion, I parked at the Stadium Shopping Centre. I got my "2 hour free parking" slip and placed it on my dashboard. I had two errands: 1) stop at the Goodwill Donation Centre @ Stadium Shopping Centre to inquire about making a large fabric donation later in the month, and 2) Pick up my January Indigo "Volunteer Parking Pass"....(LOL!) from ***, about a 5 minute walk away from the Stadium parking lot.

I was gone for about 20 minutes--well within the allotted 2-hour "free parking" time. When I returned to my car, I found a $65.00 ticket, despite the parking slip prominently displayed on my dashboard. The signage in this parking lot is NOT visible, clear and explicit about "walk offs". The fact that the parking lot was nearly empty infuriates me. This is dishonest. Their employees seem to hang around these lots, waiting to entrap us. I left the parking lot at ~1:46 PM assuming that I'd followed their rules, and the ticket was given at 1:51 PM.

The fact that I ALSO had legitimate business at the Stadium Goodwill Donation Centre is especially infuriating. I will *NEVERdeal with Indigo again under ANY circumstances--and I'd like to see a crackdown on their business practices. At the very least, they should be forced to post MORE prominent signage in these lots, clearly stating "NO WALK OFFS".

I paid for parking at an Indigo lot in Calgary. Their machine was broken and didn't print a receipt for my vehicle. They issued a ticket.
On the 22nd of July, 2018 I had parked in an Indigo run parking lot along 17th Avenue SW and 7th Street in Calgary. I paid the $5.00 for the parking using my visa which is recorded on my Visa Receipt. Their parking machine collected the money but said error for the receipt printing so I didn't have a receipt to place on my dash. I immediately called the telephone number provided by the company that is on the parking payment machine with my cell phone, which I also have a record of, and left a message as no one is apparently in their office on weekends notifying them of the issue and that I had paid and not received the receipt. Approximately an hour later I returned to my vehicle and there was a parking ticket on my vehicle and I called the number again to notify them that they'd left a parking ticket when I'd already paid. They called me a few days later acknowledging receipt of the phone calls. They have still attempted to collect an overdue amount of $110.00 even though it had been paid originally, and the issue was with their machine which I had notified them of. Their collection company continues to harass me even though I've notified them as well that this parking was paid and that I have a copy of payment. I would like this matter resolved and for them to stop contacting me on a service which I had paid for and cannot see how I am responsible for payment due to their machine error. They're argument is that there was not a displayed receipt but there was no way I could get one when their machine was broken or out of paper and I did notify them of the issue immediately both on payment and when the ticket was issued. This company is incredibly unreasonable and frustrating to deal with and the way they treat customers is unbelievable. I will not park in an indigo parking lot again after this incident as their business practices are completely unprofessional and don't seem legitimate. I have pictures of my visa payment, my phone call records to the company, and the ticket which I can send you as well.

I have called and left messages Dec 23, Dec 24 x2, Dec 26 and Dec 27 with regards to the Parking Notice I received. I arrived shortly after 12pm and tried several times to use my Debit/visa to pay for parking and it was continually 'transaction cancelled'. The ticket was issued at 12:22pm and I'm pretty sure I was still standing at the pay station trying to get it to work as the ticket was being issued! I quickly delivered the Christmas gift to resident in the senior care facility and returned to my car by 12:45 to discover a $65 ticket. I called in and spoke to someone on call who took down the info and said someone would call me, but also advised I call the following day. Which I have tried calling several times, to get the recording about call volumes, leave info and they would call back.... still waiting! I reached out to the care facility to complain about only option being credit/debit and they stated it was due to costs etc. They reached out to their contact and was told there was no problem with the machine it was 'user error'. I have parked at various lots throughout the city which require meter or paystation payment and never had to deal with transaction cancelled when using my debit/visa. After leaving that facility that day I went about doing other errands etc and used my debit/visa and there was no problem, funds were there and there was no transaction cancelled. I feel this ticket was issued unfairly, as it was no fault of mine that their machine wouldn't accept it. The care facility has offered to pay it as a one time 'seasonal gesture' bit don't feel it should have been issued. To call in several times and get the same message about call volumes and call will be returned and am still waiting after 5 days, and one has only 10 days to pay is beyond unreasonable!
Product_Or_Service: attempt to pay for parking

The worst company I have ever parked with. They *** people by issuing *** tickets.
I paid for a ticket using the parking app with all the correct information. Not only did they issue a parking ticket incorrectly, but they refuse to answer my dispute (I have photo evidence). They have NO ONE available to answer for this *** ticket and refuse to respond to any phone calls or emails about it.

Incorrect charges and Indigo's refusal to accept payment from me.
On November 5, 2018 I received a parking ticket from Indigo. The notice said the ticket was $65 if paid within 10 days and $85 if paid after 10 days.

On November 27 (less than 30 days after the ticket was issued) I received a letter from Indigo demanding payment of $110 for the ticket. The letter contained no justification whatsoever for the $25 increase in the ticket.

On December 10, 2018 I forwarded a cheque to Indigo by mail for $85 along with a cover letter stating that I had been charged an extra $25 in error.

I am now in receipt of a letter dated December 14, 2018 wherein Indigo advises they refuse to accept my payment. They enclosed my cheque. Additionally, they enclosed a copy of the back of ticket and highlighted a portion that reads:

"If after 30 days, we refer this amount to a debt collection agengy, and an additional Administration Fee of $25 may be added, or we take legal action to reover this amount, additional costs and interest will be added as permitted by Provincial Debt Collection Legislation."

This, however, does not explain the extra charges as the $25 was added prior to 30 days. Additionally, the file had not been referred to a debt collection agency.
