Indigo Park Canada Inc. Calgary branch Reviews (%countItem)

The customer service at this branch is appalling. *** I was overcharged and asked for a refund yet I was yelled at and talked over. The people on the phone kept deterring me from getting a managers name or even talking to someone else. *** I'm not surprised they have an F rating and 1 star on google reviews. Garbage.

Just received a letter in the mail for a ticket date in early 2017 and they claim its due to a computer upgrade
Received a ticket in the mail dated April 11,2017 saying that it is overdue and I now owe $110. When I called asking why I was just getting this ticket no they said that they had just updated their computer system and missed generating numerous tickets so are just handing them out now. On top of that, I go to this location all of the time and on the side of the mall that I park, there is no indication that any payment is required.

Yesterday rec'd a letter in mail regarding a parking ticket that (was supposedly rec'd) May 5, 2017 in a Indigo parking lot at North Hill Centre. No ticket was ever seen...and now almost a year later we get a letter saying we owe $110 for late ticket. Until yesterday no other letters or phone calls regarding the outstanding. Phoned today to ask about ticket and was told there has been a computer issue and they are just now catching up on back log. Said they would lower ticket to $85.00. This seems very similar to another review I read before submitting this one. What a scam this company has going on....and no one to stop them. Again the normal customer gets screwed.

I parked on *** on ***, Calgary on last Saturday morning to get a coffee. I did not notice that the parking was private and managed by WestPark and I needed to get a 20 Min Free pass from the machine. I went into *** and it was not busy so overall I must have been there for 2-3 Minutes. When I got out, I noticed $65 parking ticket on my windshield. The ticket was issued at 10.03 AM and my *** Receipt shows I bought the coffee at 10:04 AM.
I called West Park and explained to them that I was a customer there and have the receipt but they said they cannot do anything except reducing my ticket to $50. I find this very unfair as I did not violate the parking rules; I simply forgot to get the free pass.
According to WestPark website they do not lurk behind the bushes and offer a small grace period before issuing a parking notice. I parked there for only 2-3 minutes and still got a ticket, I wonder what their definition of small grace period it.
I understand that I should have gotten a free 20 minute pass, but the fact that I have the receipt to prove I was a customer at that parking lot should be sufficient to reverse the ticket.
I would like WestPark to reverse my ticket.

They claim that they put a parking notice on my Vehicle, but they did not. then they sent a notice for *** and then another for *** later.
when I parked January 2017 after 6pm it was dark and did not see sign, thought it was *** parking as I allways did, parked for 1/2 hour and then left. much later received a *** bill which I contested over the phone and tried to explain but they did not offer to reduce it, then after I received a *** bill with threat to send to a collection. I send *** to cover1/2 hour that I parked and they send it back as *** and with same bill *** and then collection outfit and harassing calls from Langly BC.

Initial Business Response /(1000, 12, 2018/04/19) */
We have spoken several times to this gentleman and tried to resolve this issue. At this point there is nothing we can do on our end.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(3000, 14, 2018/04/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.)
Not true I contacted them and they are not receptive I am not satisfied

Parking ticket issued while validating license at Hospice.
Visitor Parking at Sarcee Hospice. While I was checking in at the visitor reception and having the car registered with the system, the car was ticketed with a Parking Notice.
Indigo indicate that they have no record of validation, however the hospice have provided that. Indigo will not remove the Parking Notice fee despite our asking them to do so.

Final Consumer Response /(2000, 9, 2018/03/21) */
The problem has been resolved - the company contacted me after several calls and an email with all the information, and they cancelled the ticket.

Thanks for your help.

I was issued a parking ticket from Indigo WestPark on Friday at 8:58 pm. Their pay station was not working - the screen looked like it had moisture damage and was unreadable. I took pictures of it, as well as tried to call the number on the pay station, but their recording stated that it was after hours. When I called today to dispute the ticket, I was told it was not their issue if their equipment was not working and I should not have parked there. How is this legal? How does the City of Calgary allow this type of predatory business to operate? It's nothing but a money grab. Totally disgusting.

Monthly parking pass billings
I have a monthly parking pass in the apartment building I live in. Indigo manages the parking lot. My credit expired and I called Indigo to inform them of the changes. There was no answer so a message was left. Over the next several months, I called several times and left messages. My calls were never returned. After several months, my parking permit was cancelled and my car was towed. I had to pay over $*** in towing fees. I also learned that I have been ticketed. The ticket says $*** if paid within 10 days. When I went to their office to pay the outstanding fees on my account, I learned that ticket was actually $*** even though the ticket clearly states $. In addition, I had to pay for the month after my account was cancelled. During this month, my car was towed and I parked using a guest pass from the building manager. Unfair that I would have to pay the month after my account was cancelled.

This account was well past due with Indigo trying to contact this parker to pay his overdue fees. He had many opportunities to resolve this issue. No refund will be given.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(3000, 7, 2018/03/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.)
The complaint is regarding the the extra month of parking charges after my account was cancelled. I do not believe you can claim my parking pass was cancelled, and consequently ticketed and towed, while still charging me for the same month. After my account was cancelled, it is no different than any other car parking in your parking lot that you ticketed.

I received a temporary parking pass from the building manager after my car was towed while this issue was being worked out for the remainder of the month.

Second complaint is regarding the ticket. I have a ticket that says owing $*** if payed within 10 days. I can provide proof of this ticket if required. I was forced to pay $*** for this ticket.

Wrongfully ticketed
I visit the North Hill Mall every two days due to a service the mall offers. Appointments can last as long as 30 minutes depending on the time of day. On this particular day I parked my truck at 4pm at the WestPark site as I usually do, as the business I visit is close to the entrance. As per every visit, I entered my license plate number and proceeded into the Mall. At 4:27pm of the same afternoon, I returned to my truck and noticed that a ticket was issued. I was very confused, walked up to the sign and read that 2 hours free parking was granted however, licene plates must be entered and only once per day. I thought I may have missed something but reassured myself that I had done nothing wrong.

That evening I wrote to WestPark explaining my incident and hoped for someone to call or email me back. I waited for the long weekend to pass and called the number on the ticket on Tuesday afternoon. I spoke to the female employee and explained what had happen, but clearly did not wanted to hear my explanation, but rather insisted that I was wrong, and if I would continue on explaining my case she would hang up. She did. I called back and asked to a manager, the same employee asked me what in regards, I told her that I would like to speak to a manager in regards to my issued ticket and in regards to customer service, she replied that the manager was too busy and hang up. I went back to the mall that day to speak to security and to see if footage could be pulled, in order to show WestPark that I was not at the Mall at 10am as they where claiming but rather at 4pm until 4:27pm as I indicated, I had no luck as security wont release footage unless its the police. I am left disappointed as this company clearly bullies it self though the system, a match made for heaven for the employees they hire as no one makes time to listen or even acknowledge a flaw in the system.

I was ticketed for a two hour free parking at North Hill Mall despite being there for 40 min only.
I arrived at the establishment at 10:30am on Monday Feb 5th. I entered the mall to use one of the businesses for my workout of 40 min. At the entrance there is a payment machine for people who overstay the two hour free parking time. There is a registration for cars during operation hours of SEARS, who are now closed for the past two weeks, so that policy is no longer valuable since its no longer operating. I arrived at my paring stall to find ticket issued at 10:47am stating that my car is not registered to be parked at the location despite having two hour free parking for mall customers. I called to inquire on the matter and the agent refused any type of communication with management and she didn't offer to help me in any way, but to threaten that I will be soon contacted by collection agency. She proceeded with her hanging up on me. I was refused further service by them over the phone. They stated their policy that they hang up on people who challenge any types of tickets or violations, regardless if they are wrongfully issued! I was told that I somehow parked wrong, which doesn't make sense, because I parked around the other vehicles in the parking lot without interfering with anyone or traffic.

What is the notice number so I can look into the conversation on my end.

This does not resolve the main issue.

The car's licence is ***. This should be researched instead of asking.

Final Business Response /(4000, 14, 2018/02/20) */
The parking notice is valid. This customer did not register her plate at the parking meter.

Final Consumer Response /(3000, 16, 2018/02/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she did not accept the response from the business.)
The business did not resolve their main issue nor did they apologized for their demeaning customer treatment. I am not emotionless or an animal to be treated as such. The ticket is NOT valid, because it is supposed to be registered during Sears hours and Sears is shut down, therefore the ticket is not valid. This business is very hard to work with if they continue to disregard the issues and inconveniences they have caused. If you would like a better customer standing I hope they come up with a resolution. Thank you.

I apparently recieved a ticket for parking in the Chinook parking lot in December 2017, which I did not know about.I paid for parking on January 19, 2018, and yet received a ticket, when calling the company to deal with this, I was told they won't reduce my ticket (the one I paid for) until I pay for the first ticket. When I brought up the fact that I paid for parking and that simply "reducing" it was not satisfactory, I was told too bad. HORRIBLE!

I have not been to the North Hill in over 10 years and Saturday, Jan 20th I brought my 85 year old mother. I had parked in front of Delmar dry cleaning. We arrived at 3:50 and out by 4:20 only to find a $65.00 ticket. I was so frustrated and disgusted that West Parking is basically robbing us people. I called the main office and all she said was people try to park and go to Sait and Down Town. If I was going to Sait, don't you think I would of parked closer to Sait? when I looked on the website, Delmar is on the green...... it was a total innocent mistake and the fact that the parking patrol was chatting away with another man, he could of warned us, instead of watching until we went in the mall to issue a ticket. A warning would of been nice. Totally disgusting and SHAME on all you people at West Park!! How you people sleep and go on with your day is AWFUL. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU ALL! Never will I ever go near there again. No compassion at all.

Indigo issued parking ticket even after confirming that I paid the daily rate
Paid for 12 hour parking at Stadium lot 201 at 6:04am...at11:30am a ticket for $65 was left on windshield. After contacting them by phone, they confirmed my payment yet refuse to cancel this ticket. A request for a manager to contact me has gone ignored and an attempt to contact them via their Calgary email is rejected as "email address does not exist"

This has to be one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I parked at the new Studio Bell lot for a business event. The parking meter states it accepts American Express. It did not after several tries. None of my colleagues could use their Amex either despite them saying it was an accepted card. I did not have a different credit card with me. So I got a 65 dollar ticket. I called their office the next day and of course they said too bad I should not have parked there if I could not pay. Explained I was running short of time for a business event and didn't have time to move my car. She told me basically too bad. The best she would do is reduce the ticket. Then she proceeded to tell me she would not reduce the ticket because I owed for a ticket in 2013 and one in 2014. I have lived at the same address for 15 years and have never had even so much as a letter from them on either ticket. I tell her this and she does not care. I tell her thank you and that she has not been helpful at all. Then what do I get in the mail today....a notice dated dec 6th, the same day I called telling me to pay the ticket from sept 15, 2014 or they will take me to collections. This is the first contact from them ever on a ticket that likely got blown off my car or someone just knocked it off. Who knows what happened to it or the one from 2013 that they never contacted me about. So her response to me calling about their bad advertising of acceptable payment methods was to do this. I cannot believe the spite. I call to rectify a situation and that is her response. I am going to fight this to the end. It is not about them money! This is just really bad business practices. And I will walk miles before ever parking in one of their lots again.

This company is incredibly predatory. I was issued an invalid parking ticket at a university campus, where I have a parking pass clearly displayed. To prey on university students... I can barely afford groceries, never-mind your parking tickets.

The employee on the phone was also very condescending. Not okay.

I received a ticket on 11/16/2016. I have paid this ticket even though I do not agree with it. I have not been to the NorthHill Mall, Calgary AB in years and just happened drop in for 20 minutes unaware of the new parking fee. It was night and even when I returned to find the ticket I could not locate the parking meter location. The signs were very poorly lit as was the parking meter. North Hill Mall has lost my business as will Westpark Indigo. I really had to search to understand what I had done wrong. I am a huge rule follower so feel this is a very unfair ticket given the conditions at night and location of the parking lot.

I had not been to Northill mall for a couple of years and as I went to park along the edge of the mall entrance near Sears, I notice a sign in front of the stall that said it was pay parking. So I backed up and parked in a different location where there were no signs indicating I needed to pay. When I came out to my vehicle, I had a ticket on my windshield. This is a little crazy to have to pay for parking or have to register your vehicle for 2 hours of free parking! It was not clear that where I parked was an area that required me to register my vehicle. I thought it was just for the parking along the sidewalk! Pay parking at a mall! And a $65 ticket for not registering my vehicle during my 1 hour of free parking! Signage was non existent in the area I parked. Who would even think that you would have to register your vehicle and pay to shop at a mall... This is a good deterant to never shop there again...

Predatory incompetent scammers. See you in court!

It is unclear that vehicles have to register to park at NorthHill mall. This change requires better advertising and a warning for 1st offense.
I parked at NorthHill mall on Jan 6, 2017. I've lived in the city for over 50 years, and have parked at this mall many times in the past. I never knew it suddenly became a pay lot. I don't know of any other malls that require pay parking in the city.
When I returned to my car, there was no ticket on the windshield. Westpark says they have a picture of the ticket on my windshield, but there definitely wasn't one when I returned to my car. I left the mall without knowing anything was wrong.
This past week, mid-November 2017, I received a letter saying I owe $110 for the parking on Jan 6, over 11 months after the incident (notice# AAXXXXXX). It was the first time I knew about it. I phoned to inquire, and was told they could reduce it to $85, but I would still need to pay or it would be sent to collections.
If I knew I needed to register for parking, I would have. But the thought of doing so for a shopping mall never crossed my mind. I feel that a practice like this, that is so different from the norms in the city, should have advertised better, and should have issued only a warning for a first offender. When I called to inquire, I asked if they advertised this new policy in the local newspapers. They could not give me a response. I did not refuse to register my vehicle, I simply didn't know. The parking at the mall is free for the first 2 hours. I feel $100 or $85 is far too much of a penalty for a service that for me that day should have been free.

I just came back from the worst experience of my life. I recently got parking through Indigo parking for the apartment complex I currently reside at. I got the parking and keys on a friday afternoon. On monday morning (before my payment and statement was filled in and processed) I called in early in the morning to ask them to please not process it as I did not need it anymore as my car was not drivable any longer. When I did so, the woman on the phone told me to come in and talk to the woman that signed me up for it. When I came in to talk to Jodi at the front desk 2 days later, as I worked and had school Monday and Tuesday, she informed me that okay they might only charge me the activation fee that was 25$ and I was fine with paying. The woman later proceeded to go ask her manager that told me that I would actually have to pay 75 dollars for 3 days for parking, which one included a Sunday. Then when I asked her for a number so I can call someone higher she said no. The entire conversation she was rude and raised her voice at me and threatened to call the police and said I was threatening her and belittled me because I told her I was not leaving until I got a number I could call. She treated me like I was less than a human being and I ended up leaving in tears. I have never in my life been so disrespected and offended before. I understand that there are rules that goes along with that job but to be yelled at and treated like I was a child like that was so uncalled for and I can say by the comments that I am reading here, this is not the first time that this has happened. As I was walking in, I even overheard a conversation she was having with a woman over the phone about their terrible customer service. Even from the first day I came, they were extremely rude, the only person who was somewhat nice was the woman who signed me up for the service. If I could give this business negative stars, I would.
