If you choose this service you need to be aware of a few important thingsIn and of itself, Instant Checkmate isn't a bad serviceIt's just somewhat misleading What you get for the "month" subscription fee is access to some basic info on a personThis is the first misleading thing, they say you get unlimited searches, but what you get is very limited information on an unlimited amount of people It's very basic info, name, addresses, possible relatives, federal licenses, etcThey do then offer a more comprehensive report for an additional feeHere's the catch If you only get the complete report of one or two people, you are essentially paying the same price (about $~ Monthly Subscription fee + Comprehensive report fee) that most of these services charge per report The more complete reports you run the better the value you will get from this serviceIf you only plan on one or two reports, there are several more cost effective services out thereIf you plan on doing bulk, this service may be worth the costThe comprehensive reports can be fairly thorough, but not necessarily 100% completeHere's why: Several of my searches turned up the same person in multiple listingsEach listing had some of the information but none were completeWhile there was some overlap in information I still had to pay to get the full report for each entryThe more information you have ahead of time the better off you'll be when scanning through lots of entries for the same name, sometimes even multiple people with the same name in the same townAdditionally, it can be hit or miss about whether there is available criminal information about an individualAt least one of my searches showed no criminal information for someone I know has a prior record They offer a "Court Runner" service for an additional fee that will send a real person to the Court of Record and request those files for you if they are availableI did not use that service so I can't say whether it's worth the cost or notThough I did get a few hits on liens and other various items of possible concernAnother factor to keep in mind is that when you sign up for the month subscription (which "appears" to only be one month) you are actually entering into an ongoing monthly subscription and will be charged accordingly If you only want month, call and cancel that membership before the end of the first month to avoid a recurring chargeIt will be very difficult to get them to refund if you don'tAll in all, the cost of the full reports are inline with what other services charge, still, you may not get all the info in one go and may need to spend additional money to get all the info on a personIn that regards, this service may in fact be more expensiveIt all depends on what you want to get out of itI will say that there is no one service or company that truly gives you everything, but this one can get you to 80%The question then becomes, how much that information is worth to you?
