The It's Just Lunch business model is obsolete and unnecessarily costly for Milwaukee consumers. Its service matches people primarily by income and members are not shown photos of their matches beforehand. The personal match information provided - age and occupation - is most often inaccurate.
This model could work well in larger markets such as Chicago, but in larger markets this type of service is less necessary. In short, members are limited by the size of the service's member pool, and this service is far too expensive for that kind of limitation. Online dating sites or Meetup groups are much better choices in Milwaukee.

Hello, I am Patty, 53 year old professional female with 3 adult kids and 2 grand kids. I have tried dating on my own, bars, online, friends setting me up, for the past several decades, no luck, meeting quality professional males!!!
One of my co-workers told me about IJL. I read great reviews on Revdex.com and decided that I wanted to try it! After several months of talking about it, I finally joined in April 2016. I am enjoying my experience with the staff, my dating coach, and now have gone out couple times with someone who is well rounded and has a professional career and found many common interests.
I love the coaching aspect of the program so much!! In my sessions with my coach, I am able to ask as many questions, and request advise and feedback! I am enjoying learning so much about myself and enjoying the journey.
I love the quality staff members, especially Lucy, who has been very professional, patient, and just awesome!
I would recommend IJL to anyone who is interested in investing in themselves and open to learning about quality dating, correcting past behaviors and attitudes, and want to find someone with the same values and goals in life and a life partner!

It’s Just Lunch regrets to learn of any dissatisfaction the
consumer has experienced. The consumer joined IJL March 16, 2015.  IJL does not negotiate pricing and provide
the same membership packages for men and women in the specific market the
consumer is looking to join in. ...

Her
membership fee provides for a 6 month, 4 date membership with 8 matches
whichever comes later, 1 dating coaching session working with a certified life
coach and matchmaker throughout her tenure with the company, meeting with our
Membership Consultant for her in person Personal interview, ability to date in
every corporately owned IJL location and involvement in the matching and
selection process. 
The consumer has accepted 1 of the matches IJL has presented
to her, attended the date, completed her personal interview and declined 1
match. Since this complaint has been submitted IJL has contacted the consumer,
transitioned her to a new matchmaker, provided one additional date introduction
and is moving forward with the matching process. She recently declined a match
on June 2nd. We look forward to working with the consumer over the length of
her membership and helping her achiever her dating goals.

I am rejecting this response because:
Please find my response to the recent rebuttal from the company (IJL).Their claims are false and misleading. It is clear that they have a reputation for deception and not are trying to present a composed argument to avoid the facts.Here are the facts:1. IJL does not match clients with proper candidates. They simply find the mutual opportunity to mix people up to keep their record of making people have lunches (dates.2. Their process is not standardized so their is no accountability of the true effort anyone is putting to match clients. This process is also fraudulent because it is not clearly detailed to clients. 3. Their no refund policy is clear and irrevocable evidence that they know their service is below standard and the likelihood of people requesting a refund is high given their failure rate. They have been a subject of several action lawsuits because of this poor business practice. There is no regulations or quality control so the service is a failed outcome.4. The people who work there, call themselves professional match makers, but they have no certifications, education background in any field that could be related to this area of expertise. They are simply professional sales people who con customers into buying a service that is never delivered.Background,On 27 October, I signed an agreement with the DC branch of IJL. From that date until the first date on 01 Dec, there were no dates and no explanation for why the company was not putting more effort in my match-making plan. On that date, I met a lady named [redacted] who was older than me and absolutely outside of the parameters I had discussed with Ms. M[redacted].The date with [redacted] back in December was a total disaster which ended in her giving me her business card and selling her services as a financial manager. Though I had asked for a refund in November and also later in December, Ms. M[redacted] convinced me to go on at least one more date to see how it would work. I told her then I reserved the right to request a refund regardless. The second date was set for January 6th. Almost a month later from the first date. The lady's name was [redacted]. This was also a total mismatch and I felt that Ms. M[redacted] simply did not understand my interests no cared to listen to my needs. [redacted] mentioned several times how disappointed she was with the service and that she had been with them for six months without one good date. She also expressed her gratitude with me for being the first good date.The third date occurred on Jan 7th and it was another disappointing event. I found no commonality and no attraction. There was not even a desire for the same taste. I gave Ms. M[redacted] a full review of the date in hopes she would realize that I was not being provided with quality candidates. I again, asked that you please refund my money so I can stop wasting my time and spending money on failed dinner dates. The fourth date was sometime in March on a Tuesday and I was shocked not only at the lack of match-making, but also that the date did not even try to look good for the date. She literally walked over from work with her hair messed up and clothes that looked like she was just at home laying on the couch. She was quiet, sleepy and very uninterested. As always, and as all of the female clients who went out with me, they will tell IJL, they had a good time. I made sure I was a gentleman and created an entertaining environment.Finally the fifth date, was a ridiculous match that made me realize you are not even the least concerned with my interests or the real possibility that I may find a true match. This is where I realized the people at IJL in DC are just throwing a list of women at me so I can be their date and I am spending money going on these dates without the possibility of actually finding love. I have spent over $500.00 on these dates with no positive outcome.I am still hopeful that the IJL corporate leadership will honor my request to refund my money or at least part of it to show their willingness to rectify this internal quality problem and lack of SOP for their process.The amount of my membership was $2,800.Their offer to extend the membership was a failure as well. Since they "extended" the membership, back in March, I went on one date and it was another disaster. The lady I went out with was very appreciative of my, but I was simply disappointed with the match. Their claim that I have texted with anyone is simply not true. I can prove this either in a legal court or with any statements submitted to Revdex.com on my phone records. I have never corresponded with any of the women beyond our date except with the first lady who was trying to sell me her business.In summary, this branch of IJL is fraudulent in their practices and I do not believe they represent the larger corporate entity. Yet, they have wasted my time and taken my money with out providing a decent service that would merit their contract being upheld.

It is great that It's Just Lunch sets up dates for you and the company and staff are great. I am just currently disappointed with the selection of gentleman I have had on my dates.

The consumer has declined 4 matches and attended 1 date over the length of her membership. IJL is able to provide the services under the terms of her membership agreement as we have been doing, and a refund is not appropriate. We will continue the search and select process for her next match and focus on her criteria as provided in the initial interview with IJL. Thank you.

guarantee chemistry or attraction and cannot guarantee our clients will like
their dates once they arrive to the date, however, we take into account the
clients general criteria and guidelines, postdate feedback, the two million
first dates IJL has arranged along with our 23 years of experience in the
matching process.
The consumer purchased a 2 month, 2 date introduction membership
which has since expired and IJL provided 4 date introductions. We have attempted
to communicate with the consumer via phone to resolve her concerns which is the
most effective way to understand the concerns at hand and address accordingly,
however, the consumer is not willing to discuss with us via phone at which point
we can only consider resolved. We urge the consumer to contact the manager that
has been attempting to work with her to resolve her concerns to arrange a time
to speak. Thank you.

IJL is a great company. They really listen to your feedback after each date and try to find matches that fit into what you want. They pack your schedule with dates. When I signed up I expected a date or two every couple weeks. They had matches for me where I was meeting people 3-4 times a week. I loved that I got to call and provide my feedback after each date, and they seemed genuinely excited to know how things went. I can't say that I have found love yet, but I have met a great guy through them and I would not have met him without them.

I came to IJL to try something different. I had tried other services and was left completely dissatisfied. I also had done the whole bar scene thing to death. I came here to find a higher quality of match and I did without a doubt. While I have not yet found the right match here either, the experience has definitely been worthwhile. I have met a lot of very nice and fun women and have been to several restaurants I never would have gone to on my own. The staff at IJL has been a pleasure to deal with. Katie has made it her personal mission to find me the right match. She has been very proactive on my behalf and I firmly believe she will be successful.

market the consumer is looking to join in.  Her membership fee for $3500.00 provides for
a 10 month, 7 date membership with 14 matches whichever comes later, 2 dating
coaching sessions, working with a certified life coach and matchmaker
throughout her tenure with the company, meeting with our team for her Face to
Face Personal interview, ability to date in every corporately owned IJL
location and involvement in the matching and selection process. 
The consumer has attended 3 of her 7 guaranteed dates and
provided feedback on each date. The consumer was concerned that the check was
split at the end of the date by our local restaurant partners, which is
standard protocol to keep the date light and causal so there is no obligation to
end the introduction.  This information was
presented in the initial interview, on the initial confirmation call for her
first date and it all of the repertoire emailed to the consumer prior to her
first date. Additionally, she exchanged numbers with her first date, attended her
3rd date for 3 hours and 20 minutes and exchanged numbers with this
match and her last date was 1.5 hours in length, however, she did not enjoy
this introduction.
It’s Just Lunch focuses on several pieces of criteria during
the matching process, the information from the initial interview, information
from the Personal Face to Face Interview, feedback from each match, feedback
after each attended date but also our team’s expert matchmaking. We have been
in business for 24 years and have thousands of success stories and have set up
over 2 million first dates, we know what makes a good match. The consumer came
to IJL for help losing her single status and our goal is to help her achieve
this and provide a positive dating experience.

It's just lunch charges a substantial fee for dating referrals. Unlike Internet dating, they setup the meeting location. You are given the height, color of eyes and hair, occupation, # of children, activities they enjoy and their first name only. You are not given their picture, weight, age or any information to contact the date yourself.
When you first sign up with It's Just Lunch, you give them an age range for potential dates and the distance you are willing to travel to meet them.
Having them prescreen potential dates, setup the meeting place and time is well worth the price. You'll meet quality people and have multiple dates until you find the person you are compatible with. It's much safer than meeting people on the Internet who lie about themselves and arrange meeting places that may not be safe.
My Its Just Lunch matchmaker is Kelly and she is so helpful in setting up the date and calling after the date to see how it went. She never tells you any negative responses that she may have received from the person you went on the date with. Therefore you never get upset, thinking you are not dateable. She listens to your concerns and the potential dates get better as she gets to know your preferences from your dating experiences that you tell her about.

I had my doubts about IJL. I did decide to do it and it turn out to be very rewarding. I am a widower and hadn't dated in 35 years and had no idea how to accomplish this task. I had a few dates with other couples friends without any luck. IJL made the dating a much easier process. I did find someone who has turned out to be a partner, we have plans to take it to the next step and are exclusive.
The one thing it did for me was filter the process by getting a date with someone who was looking for a relationship.

This is a very professional and comfortable buisness. I recently met with those who were assisting me, and was treated with respect and felt as if all my needs were being met.

The company did not act in an ethical fashion. They charged my card without my authorization and made it VERY difficult for me to finally obtain a refund. They kept pawning me off on other people and delaying the refund as they held my $2500 illegitimately. The public should be made aware of their practices and their rating should be at the lowest level. They are a scam.

I have gone on a number of dates through IJL and would recommend it to others. The people I have met are interesting and smart, and the whole thing is done without much pressure. The staff is very responsive and the dates are well-organized.

I have been generally happy with my experience with IJL.

My experience with Its Just Lunch has been very satisfying. I have had the pleasure of meeting several ladies of quality for drinks at establishments I would not normally have patronized. The staff at IJL has been prompt, upbeat and accommodating. Overall I have been happy with the service I have received.
