It's Just Lunch

IJL has introduced me to many people who have met the criteria which I identified to the staff. In the last couple of months, the IJL person with whom I work has arranged an average of about one meeting every 1-2 weeks, and a high percentage of those I met were interesting, articulate, attractive, and lead interersting lives. IJL responds to the feedback on each meeting and takes it into account in arranging future meetings. In contrast to online dating services, IJL does all the work to vet possible matches and only rarely has the person not been a good fit. Unfortunately, the traditional opportunities to meet people are not working so well now, and IJL definitely helps fill the gap. I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend IJL.

We have attempted to contact [redacted] twice yesterday.  Both times she was unable to talk, but she told Sarah that she would be available day in the morning.  We take customer service seriously and want to make sure that [redacted]'s issues are addressed.  IJL has been in business for 24 years and we have many happy and successful clients.  [redacted]'s has never been on a date and we can not control any client's actions.  We look forward to speaking with [redacted] today.

The individuals are reviewed, matched, and the event entirely coordinated so that it is minimal effort. Really, you just show up and be your best self! ILJ is a great opportunity to meet people with similar goals and values. Their service is exceptional with working to find quality matches and making all the arrangements to great locations, including handling any times when you need to reschedule a date. While I have not met my true match yet, I look forward to hearing from them as they continue to explore additional potential matches and I continue to meet people.

I love IJL because of the outstanding customer service and the prompt responses to questions and inquiries about the whole matchmaking experience! I have had wonderfully productive, heartfelt, and encouraging discussions with Sandra, Nicole, Kim, and Lucy in the Washington, D.C. office. It is very obvious that they really care about their clients and wholeheartedly want them to find "the one"! By the way, to have the coordinators not just find high-quality matches on your behalf, but to also make the reservations and set up lunch and dinner meetings at the best restaurants in town makes me extremely grateful that I joined this terrific service!

I was very impressed with the IJL Milwaukee staff. They were really "on it" to understand me and set up matches. The office staff schedules the dates, makes reservations at nice public spots, so there's no need to exchange contact information with the dates unless you want to after meeting them, so it's really a comfortable and safe process. Their matches came across as really genuine, kind men who really want to find someone special and be in a relationship. So, I think the IJL process seemed more comfortable than my experiences with online dating sites. I met an amazing man from outside IJL and cancelled my IJL membership. However, I still would highly recommend this service to single women looking to meet quality, relationship-minded men.

We are currently working to recruit the types of matches the consumer is
interested in meeting and have a member of our management team reaching out to
go over her concerns in further detail. IJL is able to provide the services under
the terms of them membership agreement and accordingly a refund is not
appropriate.

This letter is in regard to Ms.[redacted]’ membership with It’s Just Lunch (IJL). She purchased a membership with a company called eLove DBA Windy Lakes Introductions on 06/23/12. This membership entitled her to eight referrals for a cost of $2,000.00. On 07/01/13 eLove went out business; the owners of eLove made an agreement with IJL that IJL would provide the opportunity for the existing eLove clients to continue to meet people, despite the business they had a contract with (eLove) went out of business. On 07/01/13, IJL sent out letters to the eLove client who has remaining obligations on their contract. The letter discussed the IJL way of matching since there were some differences in the matching method. In this mailing a release form was included.  At IJL our memberships are intended to introduce single people to other single people using the qualities discussed in each client’s interview as a guideline. At IJL we arrange the date for our clients. We start by calling the client and describing the potential date to them. We ask for the dates and times they would be available to meet. After we continue this process with the other party, we find a date that works for both clients and schedule a date. Then we contact the restaurant to make a reservation. At that point we contact both clients to give them the details about when and where they will be meeting. eLove would send clients information to each other and it was the clients responsibility to find a time they could meet face to face. It was the responsibility of the eLove client to contact their matchmaker with feedback. At IJL once the date has happened, we contact the client, or the client can contact us, with their specific feedback. The feedback is used to guide the matchmakers in the matching process.
On 07/23/13 Ms. [redacted]’ signed release form was received and processed in our MN office. (Please see the attached release form.) The release form states:
            “Since all fees under my membership agreement with eLove were paid to another company and       not to IJL, it is agreed I would have no claim against IJL or Heartland Introductions, Inc. including, but not limited to a claim for any type of refund or demand for additional services, or a            claim of breach of contract.
                I specifically authorize IJL or its affiliated IJL locations to refer me to any other IJL client for the    sole purpose of social referral, and hereby waive any and all claims, damages, losses, or causes of actions arising out of any such referral and indemnify and agree to hold them harmless from         any and all claims, damages, losses or causes of action whatsoever resulting from any referral          provided to me.  I understand that IJL screens members, but does not conduct criminal             background checks”
As of 03/07/14 she had been scheduled on 3 dates and was able to meet with 2 different gentlemen.  Ms. [redacted] was scheduled to meet with a third gentleman, Steve. Steve called the restaurant 30 minutes after the date to state he was going to arrive. While we understand this was a frustrating situation, it does not happen frequently. We are happy to either work on rescheduling a date with Steve or we can start working on finding a new gentleman for her to meet.
On 03/07/14 I, [redacted], WI and MN office manager, called Ms. [redacted] to discuss her membership and this complaint. I reminded Ms. [redacted] that unfortunately a refund from IJL of the membership fee she paid to eLove was not an option.   
During my conversation with Ms. [redacted] on 03/07/14 I stated IJL would like to continue working on finding more dates for her. At that time, Ms. [redacted] was not 100% sure she was interested in meeting more people through the IJL method. At this point if she is not interested in continuing meeting people with us we will expire her membership. Until we hear back about this response we will place her membership on hold. She has 6 months of hold time and three remaining introductions.  
 
We are looking forward to working with Ms. [redacted] in the future. Unless we hear from Ms. [redacted] that she would like to reactivate her membership she will naturally expire on 09/10/14.

The IJL interview was very relaxed. They were very straight forward with me and gave me the confindance I needed to step out in faith. I was unsure how I would preceived in the dating world as I had not dated for 30 years. The date feedback from IJL was very helpful. The dates were all arranged in very nice places and the arrangements were no pressure. My second date was a near perfect match. I had additional dates that were very positive as well. I choose to put additional dating on hold because I wanted to focus my attention on my second date. I believe IJL did their homework to find someone that fit my personality. It is someone that I would have never met on my own and I believe she feels the same. Thank you IJL.

I am very pleased with IJL . The Milwaukee team has to date done an amazing job introducing me to women with highly diverse backgrounds. The system is unique and fun!

This has been a very positive experience for me. Maybe the best decision I made after my separation. The staff is very kind, helpful, compassionate and passionate about their work. The matches have been great and I've enjoyed all of my dates--all nice, professional people and all very low-pressure. Highly recommend

I tried to work with IJL but received conflicting information.  My first phone conversation with a representative of IJL informed me they lost all my information therefore were not able to let me know that IJL was changing hands.  My second phone call I was informed I had been put on hiatus and they would consider switching my account to one of a colleague in lieu of monetary repayment.  After she requested in her profile men of color in a certain age range we received a message stating they would not restrict color or age.  Given this flies in the face of IJL I contacted IJL simply as a new customer and asked if they would restrict people to racial choice.  She said that they did it was their priority to match people with their preferences.  I also asked for all of my information indicating I had “expired”. but they have refused to produce any of my information from the prior IJL.  I went ton two dates for 1300 dollars, no face to face interview and now lost paperwork and a transfer that I was not even informed about.  This was a horrible, expensive rip off.  Please advise my next steps to reopen my case and move forward with my complaint.

I've been with It's Just Lunch for just over a month. I was not sure what to expect from the service at the start. They offer a few packages with varying levels of service, and dating coaching. The staff are friendly and professional. The dates in general have been good. I'm still looking, but having fun. I look forward to my next round of dates.

My experience with IJL has been very positive. Responses to emails and other communications have been quick and to the point. They try their best to find a good match for me. My dating coordinator and adviser are professional and friendly.

I think It's Just Lunch-Milwaukee is a great service. It allows you the opportunity to meet likeminded people that you may not otherwise have the chance to meet. This is particularly true for those that have busy work schedules and may not have the time to get out on the weekends as often. The customer service at IJL is phenomenal. Prior to every date they send you an email with the itinerary. They also call the day before the date and follow up with you the day after the date to see how it went. They take your feedback into account with the aim of matching you with the best possible person. In my experience the matches have been quite positive.
