It's Just Lunch Reviews (170)

We sincerely apologize for any unwanted calls/emails that Ms. [redacted] has received from our matchmakers.  We will ensure that her information is removed from our records and she is not contacted again.
We wish her all the best.

It's Just Lunch is a great way to meet professional women with backgrounds similar to mine. IJL is well staffed and the service they provide by taking care of the planning and reservations makes it convenient and fun.

I
am writing in response to the complaint made by [redacted].  [redacted] became an It’s Just Lunch
(IJL) Client and signed a contract on 7/12/2013 (attached.)  She purchased a 6-month membership.
The
last time we had...

contact with [redacted] was in August of 2014, per her
request.  She did meet two legally
separated men because when she was taken on as a Client, she indicated that she
was open to any marital status – this includes ‘legally separated.’   When we spoke with [redacted] after she
was introduced to someone who was legally separated, she did indicate that she
was not aware that we had Clients that were legally separated.  We discussed it and she indicated that she
did not want to meet any men that were legally separated, we immediately
updated her preferences.
The
next step of [redacted]’s process was coming in to the office for her
in-person meeting with her Matchmaker; however, she canceled the scheduled
meeting and let us know that she was busy with writing a book and would not
have time to date.  We let her know we’d
put her membership on hold and that she would be able to use the remaining 4
months of dating time in the future.
We
have not heard from her in almost a year until receiving this Revdex.com complaint.
([redacted] is correct that cancelation of the contract is not an option.)
Please
let me know if there is anything additional I can do to help resolve this
complaint.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The company claimed to have matches for me in the Richmond area when I signed up in April.  I went on one date, as previously stated, and did not hear from them again for months.  They claimed to hand pick your dates meeting your criteria discussed with the dating coordinator.  They then tried to set me up with a client that wants children as one of his criteria, I am 47 years old, and clearly not a "good match" for this person, so I declined that match.  (With the premier membership you are allowed to decline dates that do not meet your criteria).  4 months went by without a match or phone call.  When I did email my dating coordinator with complaints she took 2 full weeks to respond to my email; the contract says they are responsible for responding in 48 hours.  I was promised a service of 4 dates over a 6 month period and did not recieve this.  In addition, the dating coordinator was unorganized, confrontational and argumentative. For such a highend service and fee of 2000.00$, you expect better service and for them to fulfill their end of the contractual agreement.  I do not want another dating coordinator, I want a partial refund.  I went on one date and would like the remaining 1500.00 back.  Thank you
Regards,
[redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2016/03/13) */
It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of any dissatisfaction the consumer has experienced with their membership thus far as this is not the norm with IJL. We have been attempting to reach the consumer to discuss her concerns and her next match. We...

urge her to reach out to us so we can address her concerns directly to resolve the matter and provide a positive dating experience. Thank you.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2016/03/14) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I spoke with and emailed "Miya." I told her that I am hoping for a refund of $2000. I paid $2500 for 4 dates in 6 months and had 1 date. I think that is a fair request.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 21, 2016/05/17) */
It's Just Lunch apologize for the delay in response. The consumer responded to the Revdex.com on April 27, 2016 and IJL received the updated response from the Revdex.com on May 12th. It's Just Lunch is able to provide the services under the terms of the membership agreement and accordingly a refund is not appropriate. The consumer is on hold because she requested to be on hold and she is not open to receiving matches at this time. If she would like to return to active status we urge her to contact IJL and we will start the matching process for her. We look forward to working with her. Thank you.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 23, 2016/05/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They told me that it was a 6-month membership and buried some details in the fine print. They have had many, many complaints from others re: their service. They need to come up with a fair number and let's go our separate ways.

In February, I looked myself in the mirror and decided it was time for me to start dating. I was approaching six months out of my previous relationship, and I was ready to "put myself out there."
Online dating did not appeal to me. I don't want to be on a computer when I'm at home, and I honesty found exhausting the prospect of spending time online trying to decipher winks, smiles, and nods - or weighing the pros and cons of answering one-line emails with something substantive in hopes of an engaging conversation... Don't even get me started with the burden of creating an online profile. Was I going to spend time figuring out which artful constellation of selfies might best represent the Real Me? No.
I also wanted to do better with dating. To be perfectly honest, I felt out of practice, and I also felt ill-equipped. I had a sense of the type of person I wanted to be with, but if history is any indication: I don't choose well.
So. Enter IJL. I love working with them. I probably go on an average of two dates per month, and all that is required of me are conversations about my availability, and my willingness to take a few minutes and provide honest feedback after each date. The staff are extremely helpful, very courteous, and fun to work with.
Have I met my soul mate? No. Not yet ;) But I have met some truly fantastic people, and working with IJL has been truly an awesome experience. I get to experience new restaurants in the DC area; I get the opportunity to go out with someone and present my best self. I get to meet someone over drinks and learn something new, with no expectations about how it should turn out or needs to turn out or might turn out. It's an exercise in being in the moment, and it's an exercise in being open to whatever happens.

I am a fairly recent customer of IJL, but so far my experience was extremely positive. I find the team in DC office exceptionally responsive, caring and supportive. My Matchmaker Jaida truly cares about me meeting my perfect match and I feel I am in good hands.

Dear Ms. [redacted],

This letter is in regard to Ms. [redacted]’s membership with It’s Just Lunch (IJL). She purchased a membership on 12/20/13. This membership entitled her to six months of active membership time for a cost of $2,000.00.
In Ms. [redacted]’s third complaint, she states that this case is not closed and believes that IJL thinks everything is “fine.”  Based on the provided in our last response, I think there might have been a miscommunication.  Ms. [redacted] asked if we would allow her to see photos before going on her dates, and here is what I wrote:
“ we cannot accommodate this request for her current membership.  I am hopeful Ms. [redacted]               is still willing to work with us again.  Given the fact she has contacted our office we will assume           this case will be closed and we can start coordinating dates for Ms. [redacted]. Until we receive           confirmation from Ms. [redacted] that she will allow us to start coordinating dates for her in the IJL              manor the membership will remain on hold. Again, the membership may remain on hold until       04/27/14. If she does not contact us by then the membership will naturally expire. “
In my letter I was referring to the Revdex.com closing the case, not that we had closed the account in any way. I also stated that we would continue to keep the membership on hold until she was ready for us to start coordinating dates for her. If she has not decided to meet more people through IJL, we will continue to keep the membership on hold until 04/27/14, when the membership would naturally expire. I apologize if those details were not clear in the previous response.
If Ms. [redacted] does not want to meet more people through IJL, we clearly cannot make her. Since a refund of the membership fee is not an option, we are hopeful Ms. [redacted] will allow us to start coordinating more dates for her.
If I can be of further assistance please contact me at ###-###-####.

Sincerely,
IJL Milwaukee

It’s Just Lunch has communicated with the consumer and he
accepted an additional date to resolve his concerns. He went out on this date
on April 22nd. A client accepting a date and moving forward is
considered a resolution at IJL. Should the consumer still not be satisfied with
the resolution provided and accepted by the consumer, we recommend he contact
the company he entered into an agreement with. The date provided by IJL US was
a good faith effort to have the consumer complete his membership on a positive
note with IJL.

I wanted to extend a great big Thank You to Its Just Lunch and the lovely staff. They were helpful and fun and I did meet a wonderful man, whom I wouldn't have met without these services. I tried online dating and had terrible experiences. My experience with IJL has been very positive.

I met someone! Someone classy, conversational, fun, attractive and Italian to boot! Thanks to It's Just Lunch. Julie was "professionally persistent" in persuading me to join and then Kelly and 'Crew' joined in to match me up with classy, successful, attractive women until the right one came along. Thank you It's Just Lunch! All of the matches were exactly what I was looking for, but the 'home run' was the 5th and most recent. Nice job. I would recommend them highly, especially when your on line 'search' gets daunting and frustrating, as it likely will. They are every bit worth the expense. And a lot less stressful because they take care of the first time details of who, where and when. Great job!

Everyone at It's Just Lunch-Milwaukee has been friendly and supportive throughout this new journey! I appreciate their responsiveness each time I call the office. Diana and Kelly are wonderful!

It’s Just Lunch regrets to learn of any
dissatisfaction the consumer has experienced as this is not the norm...

with It’s
Just Lunch.  The Client joined on
September 22, 2014 to date in the Cincinnati, OH market and has 2 months or 2
dates, whichever comes last.  Her
membership agreement notes “Client agrees and understands that Date
Introductions will be made in expanded markets requiring travel outside of
Client's local geographic area.”  It’s
Just Lunch has provided the consumer to date with 4 dates introductions, 3
which she has attended and provided feedback. We work with busy professionals
and accept the information they provide to IJL and expect our clients represent
themselves honestly.  We would never
misrepresent a match to another client. All clients go through the same
interview process, as did the consumer.
It’s Just Lunch cannot guarantee chemistry or attraction and we may take
into account the general criteria and guidelines provided by the consumer,
their postdate feedback and our 23 years of matching experience.  We have contacted the consumer to discuss he
concerns and will continue to reach out to her to come to a resolution as our
goal is to provide a positive dating experience and help our clients achieve
their dating goals.

I was divorced for about two years before joining It's Just Lunch. Since that time I've been able to meet some interesting women through their matching process.

I have been using IJL for 3 months and have had over 15 dates. About half of them have been with someone who I would go on a second and future dates with. I have had strong connections with 3 of them. All our lunches or dinners have gone well. I find it very convenient using IJL as they provide a real opportunity to meet someone who I could potentially start a long term relationship with. IJL does a great job screening members and I know I can trust my dates. The IJL staff is friendly and helpful and overall it has been a very positive experience. If you want to spend a lot of time searching for a potential mate, then use an online dating service. The only drawback I see with IJL is I do not get to see pictures of the members before we meet.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2016/08/03) */
It's Just Lunch regrets to learn of any dissatisfaction the consumer has experienced with her membership as this is not the norm with IJL. IJL has contacted the consumer to discuss her concerns. We have recently assigned her a new Dating...

Director to work with and we are currently in the search and select process for her next match. We are looking forward to helping the consumer achieve her dating goals. Thank you.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 12, 2016/08/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
They informed me that the Revdex.com could not make them refund my money. Therefore I had no choice but to move forward hoping that they would do an acceptable job.

October 29, 2014
It’s Just Lunch (IJL) is a dating service for busy professionals. We specialize in setting pressurefree first dates for our clients. After determining that we can accept a client, we offer a few different membership options. In this case, [redacted] opted for our 6-month membership. On June 25, 2014, [redacted] signed a contract to become a member of It’s Just Lunch as she electronically signed, initialed, and provided her driver's license number for a validly executed contract in the District of Columbia while speaking with her Matchmaker. On this date, [redacted] also provided us with his credit card information and became a client of It’s Just Lunch. A highlighted copy of his signed contract is attached for review.[redacted]'s contract stipulates, “Client hereby enrolls for a period of six (6) months from today’s date at which time this agreement automatically renews on a month to month basis until cancelled by Client. Client directs IJL to make automatic monthly debits of $79.00 from his/her checking account or credit card (as authorized below) on the first business day of each month. The initial debit will be a prorated amount and will take place six months from today. Both client and IJL may place this membership on Inactive Status and IJL will cease coordinating dates until directed to do so by Client. Inactive Status does not extend the period of enrollment selected by Client. Inactive Status does not affect the payment of dues during the monthly renewing portion of this agreement. Client agrees that this authority for monthly dues/debits will remain in full force and effect until Client cancels this membership by giving IJL forty-five (45) days written notice at canceldues @ijlwash.com.” To date, our records reflect we have not received cancelation notice from [redacted] as indicated in her contract. As such, her membership rolled over to monthly dues per her contract at the end of her 6 month period, on 12/25/13. She placed her membership on inactive status effective September 17, 2013. Inactive status allows clients to keep their memberships even while they are choosing not to date (for travel, exploring the beginning stages of a relationship, etc). We mailed her a letter to confirm inactive status on this date, which also reminded her that her membership would roll over to monthly dues on 12/25/13 (copy attached). As such, her membership billing continued to keep her membership current and we checked in with her from time to time to see how things were going for her since she was still a member. Our records do not reflect anyone contacting [redacted] to attempt to sell her a new package. Instead, when [redacted] indicated she was no longer seeing a gentleman she met through us on 4/10/14, her Dating Consultant left her a couple voicemails to see if she would like use her membership to actively date again and meet some other men on 4/11/14 and 4/14/14.In an effort to resolve this issue for [redacted], on 10/15/14, the day she contacted us about her monthly dues charges, we refunded the full amount of monthly dues charged to her card as outlined below:$15.29 on 12/25/13 for her first pro-rated monthly dues billing $79.00 on 1/1/14 for her January monthly dues $79.00 on 2/1/14 for her February monthly dues $79.00 on 3/1/14 for her March monthly dues $79.00 on 4/1/14 for her April Inonthly dues $79.00 on 5/1/14 for her May monthly dues $79.00 on 6/1/14 for her June monthly dues $79.00 on 7/1/14 for her July monthly dues $79.00 on 8/1/14 for her August monthly dues $79.00 on 9/1/14 for her September monthly dues $79.00 on 10/1/14 for her October monthly duesAll these charges totaling $805.29 were fully refunded to [redacted] on 10/15/14. I also personally attempted to call [redacted] multiple times on this day as she requested, but the calls were disconnected each time. After not being able to get through to her via phone, I sent her a letter that same day reflecting the refund (a copy of the letter is attached).I see [redacted] has indicated in her claim that the total dues amount billed was $869.00 but as reflected above, our records show we only billed [redacted] the pro-rated amount in December 2013 (per her contract) and $79 monthly from January through October 2014 and have credited back the full amount. However, if [redacted] believes she was billed a total of $869.00, if she can provide documentation showing these charges, we would be happy to refund the full amount she is requesting. We enjoyed working with [redacted] and wish her the best of luck in all her future endeavors. If you require any additional information please don’t hesitate to contact me directly at [redacted].Thank you,Krista W

We have defective Atlas chalet shingles on our house. We are experiencing premature blistering and cracking and increased moisture penetration and excessive granular loss. We contacted the corporation about the warranty but they wouldn't respond to our question or take any action.

Good Afternoon.Thank you for notifying us. We care about our clients and will contact ** right away and discuss her concerns.Thank you again,[redacted]

It's very early in the process for me; however my impression of Chelsea is that she is kind and capable.
I don't have enough experience yet if I would recommend IJL to others. I only went on one date so far.
