[redacted]Again we apologize that this calculation error occurred, but the Accuracy Guarantee specifically states that we will pay any interest or penalties charged due to an error.  In your case, this does no apply since there is no balance owed to the IRS that would cause that to be the case.  We are acknowledging that an error was made at the time you used our software that caused you to believe you would be getting a higher refund than you were owed.  The IRS made the correction and sent you the refund you were due.  We offered to send you a [redacted] gift card in the amount of $100, which we would still be happy to do if you're still interested.Jim M[redacted], ManagerJackson Hewitt Online

I am rejecting this response because:
The link in the message regarding their guarantee states: "Coverage under the Accuracy Guarantee does not apply to the following situations ("Exclusions"):... (ii) your tax refund was reduced or not received as a result of a tax lien, judgment, support order, unpaid student or government-related loans, back taxes, or any other collection activity..."none of these are the reason why my refund amount was lower. Additionally I spoke to a Jackson Hewitt Representative on January 31st (via the live chat feature) who assured me the original dollar amount quoted was correct.  (screenshots attached ... Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Review: I completed my taxes in office at Jackson Hewitt on April 15, 2014. At no time during my time in the office or after departing the office that

evening after 9:00pm CST did I receive notification from [redacted] (manager on duty) or [redacted] (district manager) that my taxes were returned from the IRS.

In December 2014, I received a letter from the IRS claiming they could not accept information from me that was received. I contacted them and was advised that my taxes were denied electronically by the IRS on April 15, 2014. After months of back and forth, the IRS requested payment of late fees and penalties for not paying on time. I sent copies of my tax forms showing that I filed on time and documentation showing that I never received any call or letter from Jackson Hewitt saying there was a problem. The State of Illinois contacted me in April of 2015, also saying I never filed. I called Jackson Hewitt and spoke to [redacted] district manager. I told her that the IRS and State of IL contacted me saying I didn't file, when I filed in office, on time and had proof I did so. She then stated that my taxes were denied by the IRS.

I told her I was never

notified by ANYONE at Jackson Hewitt, which is their responsibility, year round. No apology and no offer to rectify the problem.

I want checks written to the State of Illinois and IRS for all late fees, penalties and interest

charges associated with this filing. It is Jackson Hewitt policy that they are required to notify you immediately if the IRS or State contacts them or sends back a denial or error message on your tax filing. This didn't happen and has caused severe harm to myself and my family.Desired Settlement: I seek two checks for all tax penalties, interest and late charges and fees associated with my 2013 State and Federal filing.

Review: Constantly harassed with unwanted, unrequested phone calls, emails & phone text messages (calls between 8am-9pm). Numerous attempts have been made requesting my contact number, name & address, email address etc. be removed from any/all JH lists. Receiving phone calls at all hrs, with no response when answering (total silence). Re-dailed #, spoke to JH Rep. demanding cease of all contact. Calls continued therefore, I phoned Customer Service main #. Spoke to CSVC Rep. demanding removal of all contact info. Provided my contact# as I was told the Regional would contact me back. Never received return call. Calls still continued therefore, phoned Customer Service main # again demanding removal of all contact info. Still received calls. Using JH website submitted 2 complaints online. Still receiving calls & emails. March 30, 2015 filed [redacted] complaint (ref.# [redacted]) as I've been on the DO NOT CALL list since July 7, 2013 & JH refuses to stop harassing me. March 31, 2015 Cease & Desist Notification-Final Notice emailed to [redacted]. Assigned Incident# [redacted]. Email received stated "resolved". Still being harassed/contacted, received phone text message on April 11, 2015. Documentation including emails, phone#'s, dates & times can be provided to support the above, if requested.Desired Settlement: With my approval I will accept a one time only and final phone contact from an authorized and approved, corporate executive to include the following. Verbal apology for unwanted, unapproved harassment, as noted in the Final Cease and Desist Notification previously submitted. Assurance regarding the cease of ALL further contact and written confirmation of such on company letterhead.

I have a right to and will take the responsibility to protect that right. All records and their delivery has been stored and is admissible as evidence in a court of law and will be used as such if need be in the future if Jackson Hewitt continues to refuse my request.

Regards,

Review: I went to a [redacted] jackson hewitt and filled my 2014 taxes in Jan of 2015. I turned in W2s for myself from AZ and CO. Also for my husband from CO. We filled separately. I received my federal taxes a few weeks later. However never received my state taxes and either did my husband. I called AZ and CO and was informed my refund was never sent to them. So I called JH and they told me they had no W2s from CO from me or my husband. (But yet my husband received a federal refund.) Then they tell me I have to mail in my AZ W2s myself. Again this was told to me back in Jan when I first filled. Now I have to drive over an hour to a JH office to straighten out my CO and AZ refund. I paid over $300 in fees to have my taxes done by a professional and it was the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered. I want a full refund of the fees I paid and my state taxes refunds straighted out.Desired Settlement: Full refund I paid in fees and my refund fixed.

I am rejecting this response because:I was told by [redacted] that if I sent here me and my husband's W2s she would work on resolving the issue and I would receive a call on the following Tuesday. I sent her our W2s on 5/13/15 and today is 6/3/15 and I haven't heard anything from anyone. I'm beyond fed up with how jackson hewitt handles their customer service. I just want my state refunds for me and my husband that they screwed up and all the fees we paid to have a tax professional handle our taxes.

Review: On January 30, 2015 I filed my taxes with Jackson Hewitt. At that time it was presented to me that they offer a way for a $200 advance of refund money loaded onto a prepaid [redacted]for 49.95. I did that. the money was approved and loaded to the card. When I went to pay my cell phone bill, the card was denied. When I went to find out from Jackson Hewitt, I was referred to the JH Preferred number. when I called, they stated to me that there was a pending transaction to [redacted] for 158 and change. However, [redacted] said the card declined. Therefore, nothing is pending. They stated to me that they have had a computer glitch and I can file a dispute for this and may take 7-10 days before I would even be contacted. I have been bounced around on this whole thing for several days and no-one really is helping. So far, I am out 158 and change, out 49.95 for the charge to get that in the first place, have been bounced around for several days, was never e-mailed the dispute form as they stated they would send me(dispute #[redacted], they will not reimburse anything, and I will be receiving my refund Friday before I even receive the advance. They definitely have not delivered on the promotion they promise and what you pay for. This is either a scam by Jackson Hewitt or a third party they deal with. However, they don't take blame and wont fix the issue. The only thing I want is my 49.95 back and the 158 and change they are not willing to refund. The scam from them also needs to be shut down. Review: We had Jackson Hewitt tas service prepare our taxes for the years of 2008 and 2009 because I am an out of state student, and we wanted to make sure that the taxes are paid correctly. We had heard of [redacted], and specifically asked [redacted] and [redacted] at the time we had our taxes prepared if we owed [redacted]. Both assured us that we did not because the income was earned outside the state of Ohio. We then received a notice in July 2014 saying we owed [redacted] in the ballpark of $5400 for unpaid taxes, interest and penalties. I immediately contacted Jackson Hewitt in Cleveland, and was in contact with "[redacted]." "[redacted]" again insisted that we did not owe [redacted] anything, and she would take the time to file with [redacted] for us because they are mistaken. [redacted] filed in July of 2014 and we kept receiving notices from [redacted] saying we owe back taxes. We contacted Jackson Hewitt again, this time in touch with [redacted], who said that "[redacted]" was completely incorrect, does not know why we were told to never owed [redacted], we do in fact owe this amount of money to [redacted], and Jackson Hewitt will be paying the interest and penalties because we purchased the "gold guarantee," and the mistake was made on their part. Three occasions of being incorrect on the part of Jackson Hewitt at this point. [redacted] told us to wait for the next notice from [redacted], send it to them, they will pay the interest and penalties and we will pay the taxes owed. We received a notice in December of 2015, now totaling around $7000.00. We contacted [redacted] to follow through with her portion, and she told us that because we don't have any documentation of the tax preparers, [redacted] and [redacted], telling us that we do not owe [redacted], and "[redacted]" telling us that we do not owe [redacted], and therefore they are not responsible for paying for any of this problem that we have. Meanwhile, our tab has increased from $5400 to $7000, again, due to Jackson Hewitt's incompetence.Desired Settlement: We trusted Jackson Hewitt to be a competent tax preparation service, as they advertise. We want Jackson Hewitt to pay for the interest and penalties incurred from their misguidance that is due to [redacted].

Review: I was waiting for my property tax refund to come from Minnesota everyone else got there I was still waiting so around the 15th of November I get a letter stating that a error was made is would be getting then what I thought, jackson Hewitt prepared my taxes and I knew they had a 100% accuracy promise so I called on the 17th talked with a [redacted] told her I would fax the letter in the morning. On the 21st which was a Saturday a message was left on our machine from a supervisor by the name of [redacted] saying they would be cutting us a check on 40dollars..so I get a email saying a case manager was assigned to us her name was [redacted] allen so I call and asked for her and she had NO clue who I was or what I was talking about!!!! I then asked for [redacted] she gets on the phone puts me on hold to check on the check which she came back and said the usual time is a month to get it out so you only have 2 more weeks..haha now it is the 23 of December we haven't seen a check..im wondering if more errors were made...I wont be going there and I think I need someone to check all of there work over..Desired Settlement: they have taken a month to get this back to us but with that 100% accuracy statement don't you think they could have maybe speeded things up..40 dollars wasn't breaking us it was the point!!!!.. I haven't nothing good to say about them..maybe they own us more...

Review: I went to a tax professional because I am not an expert in filing taxes. I assumed that when I went to a name brand professional service, such as Jackson Hewitt, I would get some degree of certain that the filing was done correctly. However I recently got a letter from the IRS stating that my 2013 tax return, filed through you, was filed incorrectly and that I now owe them ($1151.00).

I made an appointment on my lunch break to meet with a representative to go over this issue and was told that when my taxes where filled a field was input incorrectly on the document. From what I understand it was put on my documents that I overpaid my social security tax, when in reality I did not. I was informed that Jackson Hewitt would be providing a refund on my 2013 filing fees, and would be paying the interest charged to me, nevertheless I do not feel that this is enough. Though I do understand that I received the 2013 tax refund, I also did not mess up my filling, and I did not provide you with any false information. I have taken time out of my day to work on resolving an issue that in reality you created for me. I would sincerely hope that you would reconsider covering the full amount that the IRS is stating that I owe due to your mistake, instead of a refund on my filing fees.

I have been using your services for a number of years and issues like this one would make anyone reconsider returning.

On top of all this it has been nearly 3 months and my repeated attempts to contact any one in charge that can make a decision has received no response. I have not even received the promised refund, let alone any amount of the tax Error that they created.

First I would like to at least get the $331.00 refund that is owed to me but I do still feel that they should reimburse the $1151.00 Tax error as well.

Review: Had taxes done. Paid $238 for this so called guaranteed accuracy service. Taxes were filed electronically and wrong. My social security income left off, my alimony inputed twice. Once as alimony, then again as a pension, also my second retirement income was left out! My daughter and I have made several calls to this place looking for a supervisor and get run around. Put on hold, hung up on, transferred to other stores where we can't get help. Someone is supposed to file an amended return but can't soon enough for us. Also no response when we demand money paid returned for poor service! No reason for these mistakes. Careless. I had all paperwork with me! Sat at this man's desk for 4 hrs for a simple return!Desired Settlement: Demand refund as they advertise money back guarantee accuracy and very shortly service from unprofessional and inexperienced workers.

I am rejecting this response because:You advertise guarantee of your service accuracy. And we have inccured a great deal of trouble having to file an amendment because of simple mistakes that a professional should have been able to do correctly. This was NOT a complicated return. We expect our money to be refunded. It cost $238 for this service and was not done correctly. We will seek the assistance of a lawyer if need be and contact the States Attorney General's office as there seems to be alot of complaints about Jackson Hewitt service and customer assistance.

Review: On 2/20/14 I went in to a Jackson Hewitt Office for the first time. While preparing my taxes, the young lady told me I could not claim my 25 year old daughter because new laws prohibits a dependent after 24 years of age. She called a colleague to confirm. I was told my daughter would have to file taxes herself and claim her own school expenses even though I explained that my daughter was not employed. While my mom prepare her taxes with a CPA she explained my situation and was told that I could in fact claim my daughter since she was a full time student and completely dependent on me. He offered to amend my return but I thanked him and told him I paid $400(the most I have ever paid) to have my taxes prepared and I would take my problems up with Jackson Hewitt. I contacted Jackson Hewitt and explained my situation and asked for the corporate office. I was referred to a neighboring office with impeccable customer service. I was told they would be able to assist me. On 4/7/14 I met with the gentlemen and explained my problem. He was shocked at my story and even more when he saw my paperwork. It seems he found several problems with my return, including where a 1040 was reported as self employment income. He amended my return and apologized for the service I received at the other location. I have been contacted by the IRS three times since this ordeal began. I am being investigated by the IRS. I have sent in an explanation and copies of the 1040 trying to clear up the problem. I received another IRS notice on 8/19/14 telling me they need another 45 days to investigate further.

Product_Or_Service: Tax PreparationDesired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

I believe Jackson Hewitt owes me a complete refund due to their negligent supervision of an office (the young lady was alone) and inadequate training of their employees. Due to the incompetence of this employee, not only am I still waiting on my return but I am also being investigated by the IRS.

Regards,

Review: My Husband and I had our taxes done with Jackson Hewitt in 2010 and 2011. We go there because we do NOT know how to do taxes and it is supposed to be a reputable place. In 2013 We got a bill for $130 from our 2010 taxes. We had it taken out of our 2014 taxes because I didn't really think too much of it. In 2014 we got another bill for $295 for our 2011 tax returns. That raised red flags, so I contacted the local Jackson Hewitt office. I spoke with a women who went through everything with me and said that she saw where the 2 different tax preparers messed up both years and it was their fault. She gave me a fax number to send all of my information to and said that they would take care of it and mail me a check to cover the $425.00 dollars that I am being asked to pay because of mess ups 3 years prior. A month went by and I hadn't heard anything so I contacted the women that I spoke with originally. She said that she would never tell me anything like I was claiming, and then gave me her manager. I spoke with the regional manager and she said that the first girl would have never told me any of that, I said to her that I wouldn't have just faxed all of the information to the fax #, and also said that I wouldn't have known the fax number and all of the correct information to send to it so I must have gotten it from someone. I have called the corporate office 2x and they just keep giving it to the local regional manager who tells me that I can keep making complaints but it doesn't matter because it will all be sent to her anyway and that she was NOT going to do anything for me. I was told by one person that I would be fully reimbursed for their mistakes and then everybody changes their story. I feel that they should be held accountable for their jobs. I am very mad that I have to pay back $495.00 for a persons mistakes that is supposedly "certified" to do taxes. And they will not give this to a higher up person.Desired Settlement: $425.00 that they want me to pay for their mistake

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is Not good! It says that Jackson Hewitt will get ahold of the local manager, that's who I keep dealing with and she's the one that I'm making the complaint about. I called the corporate office two times and they keep sending it back to her. The last time I spoke with her she said that she didn't know why I keep trying to file a complaint because it's not going to matter it will keep coming to her and she is not going to do anything about it. I have talked with her many times and she is rude and will not do anything, I would think that there is somebody above her to deal with. I just think that someone's should be held accountable for their job and I don't think it's right that I have to pay $425 for somebody's mistake, especially when the first girl that I talked to have me a fax number and all the information to provide in order to be reimbursed.
