Product; prepaid or debit.

This company charged my card twice in the same day for the same amount and I had to pay it. I had it taken off and now the had proof I made two deposits. Such crap. I won't set up another one. Complete crooks! Watch your cards that you put on there. Can't delete the card either you have to delegate the whole account

We appreciate the feedback provided. The unique identifier for each account is the telephone number being calls. All accounts are individual as each telephone number is individual. With reference to the tax concerns. As we are all familiar with taxes and that taxes are a percentage of the subtotal...

for any transaction, the taxes will vary by amount. Taxes are variable and are not an ICS tax. The taxes are federally regulated and no different than the taxes paid toward a landline of cellular phone. Ms. [redacted] has not funded account 715-571-1342 since 03/2016, on that account her $30.00 funding even was $2.33 taxes Tax Break Down: WI USF State WI $0.88; County of Marathon Sales Tax $0.15; WI State Tax $1.50). Ms. Rogowski’s other account (224) 505-9327 has been funded 01/05, 01/12, 01/21. Taxes for her $30.00 prepaid purchase on 01/05 were as follows: Cook County Sales Tax $0.82; IL State Sales Tax $1.88; Federal Universal Service Fund Federal USA $5.01; FCC Regulartory fee (Wireline) Federal USA $0.11, for a total of $7.82. If Ms. [redacted] would like a discounted processing fee, she can make her payments online at icsolutions.com for $3.00 payment processing fee (Taxes remain the same) or she can mail a money order/cashier’s check for $0.00 payment processing fee. Ms. [redacted] can go to the FCC website for regulatory information.

We apologize for any inconvenience Ms. [redacted] has experienced, however, Inmate Calling Solutions (ICSolutions) does not provide telephone numbers to individuals. We provide inmate telephone service direct to customers on an as needed collect or prepaid bases. The information provided by Ms. [redacted]...

indicates she may have done business with [redacted]. They are a separate and unaffiliated company. We recommend Ms. [redacted] check her billing statement for the company name and correct contact information.

service fees outrageous. service if not used in 6 months is forfeit. in other words, you pay a huge fee then you pay for service and you don't get the service. so I just threw $38.75 out the window. how can you take money for a service and not give the service???? maybe you should be in the detention center.

I contacted Ms. [redacted] in an attempt to obtain information to resolve this issue and provide the needed confirmation that her daughters name an email address were no longer being used. Inmate Calling Solutions does not make the assumption that there is only one person in existence with the any name....

It is very possible that [redacted] is someone receiving calls from an inmate facility, while it may not be Ms. [redacted] daughter, it may be a valid account name. When I attempted to collect the email address that the concern is noted for, Ms. [redacted] told me that it should be on the acct. I explained it has since been removed from the account, possibly by front line customer service, she proceeded to tell me how I should be able to find the email address within our own company. Since Ms. [redacted] is unwilling to assistance in the resolution of her concern, Inmate Calling Solutions will attempt to locate the email address in another way. This may take a few days to resolve as the Database will have to be searched.

We apologize for the inconvenience Ms. [redacted] has experienced. Based on the informatio provided by Ms. [redacted], the transaction is with Inmate Call Solutions, we are Inmate Calling Solutions, we provide inmate telephone service on an as needed basis, prepaid and collect....

We suggest Ms. [redacted] contact her financial institution regarding charges from Inmate Call Solutions.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Just one additional question am I paying the state of Maryland taxes or Texas taxes where your business is located or Virginia taxes where the inmate is housed

The rate information for each call to any telephone number a customer may have is available with each inmate phone calls without charge. When receiving a call Ms. [redacted] can select the option to hear her rates without being charged for that call should she choose not to accept it. Approximate rate information is available to each customer when calling into customer service should the service representative be asked for that information.

I am rejecting this response because: There are details left out of the letter for the inmate to get a refund.  The specifics need to be stated again so that Mr. [redacted] will submit the necessary information.  Mr. [redacted] was originally told to write a letter with a list of detailed data that included his date of birth, inmate number, cell phone number, mailing address, etc.  Mr. [redacted] needs to know exactly what needs to be included in the letter.  There should be a standard form on the ICS webpage for inmates to fill out.  The standard refund form needs to be given to the inmates so they know they are entitled to a refund.  Mr. [redacted] was told he would get a refund when he was released from jail. He was told he needed to include his release date and a cell phone number where he could be reached when he was released from jail. Please send a list of exactly what is required of Mr. [redacted] to get a refund and he will re-submit a written request.  Mr. [redacted] wants to make sure other inmates get their refunds as well, so in addition to the address, list the items Mr. [redacted] needs to include in the letter and this time he will send a registered letter to ICSolutions.

We apologize for any confusion there may have been. Inmate Calling Solutions cannot guarantee the quality of calls received on a cell phone because cell phones are not reliable no matter the provider. The calls that were not completed ($0.21 each) have all be credited back to Ms. [redacted] account....

Because we are unsure of how Ms. [redacted] searched for the inmate facility to fund, please note that you can search by state and county. City or municipal titles will not appear on the website as that is not what the facilities are referred to. Account information shows that Ms. [redacted] has been able to fund her prepaid account successfully online twice (02/06 and 02/14), the payment processing fee of $3.00 was accessed. Ms. [redacted] has not paid Inmate Calling Solutions a $6.95 payment processing fee, we recommend she confirm she did not establish an account with Inmate Call Solutions (Inmate Calling Solutions and Inmate Call Solutions are not associated in any way). Her payments have been attached as well as her transaction history showing her balance after each call that she has accepted, showing the issued credit and her current balance.

information on our website, for her convenience;FAQ Section 4 of our icsolutions website is as follows: 4.    Which account option is best for me?ICSolutions offers two types of calling accounts to help you stay connected with a family member or friend:A Prepaid Account enables you to purchase prepaid phone services for receiving phone calls on one specifically designated telephone number (a home phone, cell phone or business phone). The inmate can make calls only to that designated telephone number.A Debit Telephone Account enables you to purchase prepaid phone services for the inmate. The inmate can then make calls to any telephone numbers that are not restricted by the facility, including your telephone number. After Debit Account funds have been placed in the inmate's calling account, the funds become the property of the inmate. If the inmate is released or transferred to another facility, the inmate may receive a refund for any funds remaining in the account (at the discretion of the facility).

We are unable to locate an account under the phone number or name provided. It is recommended that Ms. [redacted] check her financial statements to confirm the payment was made to Inmate Calling Solutions and not Inmate Call Solutions. She may also call Client Services directly at [redacted].

Inmate Calling Solutions Corporate office staff have attempted to resolve this matter with both Western Union as well as Ms. [redacted]. At this time, we are wait to hear back from Ms. [redacted] with the information requested. Inmate Calling Solutions contacted Western Union and they were unable to locate a payment made by Ms. [redacted] to Inmate Calling Solutions. Ms. [redacted] was advised by ICSolutions that per Western Union, she will need to go back to the location she made the payment and request a copy of the payment. Ms. [redacted] may contact Western Union customer service by calling [redacted]. At this time, we are unable to post the payment in question as we have not received nor can we verify said payment. The information provided to Ms. [redacted] by the call center was based on her having called to advise a payment was being made, therefore the required pending transaction was created on her account in anticipation of the incoming Western Union Payment. Since the payment was not received, the payment was not posted. We apologize for the inconvenience, however, Neither Inmate Calling Solutions, nor Western Union can locate or verify the payment sent. Ms. [redacted] needs to return to the location from which she sent the payment.

I am rejecting this response because: Securus Tech, another inmate calling services charges a rate of $1.92 for a 15 minute phone call. This is less than $.13 per minute. The mandate set in place dos not force IC Solutions to charge $.21 per minute. This is the maximum amount allowed to be charged, that doesn't mean you should increase someone's rates by 200%. Changing my plan to even $.15 per minute would have been just. But $.21 a minute is insane.

somehow this company managed to get my account intertwined with another's person account.Someone's elses phone was place on my account and I have no idea how it got on there. that person I have no idea who they are and they are using the money I put onto my account. not to mention there is more money missing from my account that the unknown person havent even used. I asked to remove the number, icsolution informed me there's no way to do so. I've called 4 times in one day because the money kept being removed from my phone number. I filed for an investigation on my account, I changed my username and password and I even took my credit card off the account. Yet that unknown number thats listed on my account still managed to take my money. I've taking all the necessary steps to secure my account but yet my money is being taking away and ICsolution have no idea as to whats going on. this website/system company is not safe and its unclear. they tell me I have several names listed under my account when it should be just one. I am highly upset and frustrated with this company. I feel like my accout and identity have been compromise. so now I have to file for fraudulent and do and extra steps to protect my identity because of this unsafe company.

I am rejecting this response because: You should have received the second request from [redacted] over 10 days ago.
He send a second letter to you, registered mail, as you requested for the second time.  ICS should have sent his refund by now.  Have you not?  You said inmates can request a refund while incarcerated, but it is not possible because you ask for an address, release date and phone number where the individual can be reached.
Once released, the individual account holder has no way to check the balance of what is owed to him.  [redacted] is at your mercy to refund to him only what you say his balance is/was.  He can't check his balance and he can't contest it either.  Stop stalling and send his $$!
Here, again, is his name & mailing address:

We apologize for any confusion the payment process may have caused. Mr. [redacted] funded the inmate's debit calling account, allowing the inmate to use those funds to call any person. collect call. A credit of $1.25 (5 minutes) has been issued to Mr. [redacted] prepaid account so that he may explain to Mr. [redacted] that he needs to listen to the automated message and select option 2 to make a debit call. Mr. [redacted] does not need a PIN to receive calls, only to fund his account online. Mr. [redacted] knows and uses his PIN to make calls. Mr. [redacted] one free 5 minute call is available now. The $30.00 in debit funds is available, the inmate (Mr. [redacted]) need only select the debit option to use them.
