Revdex.com Complaint Case # XXXXXXXX
Consumer: [redacted]
Case Opened: 2014-April-9
Consumer Complaint:
Inappropriate loan application denial
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
Approval for the loan applied for
Response:
Thank...

you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint.
Lending Club offers personal and business loans. All Lending Club borrowers are prohibited from using loan proceeds to fund post-secondary educational expenses. Lending Club reserves the right to cancel any loan request if it determines, at its sole discretion, the intended use of any loan funds is for funding post-secondary educational expenses. Also, borrowers are prohibited from refinancing debts in connection with funding any post-secondary educational expenses. These expenses include, but are not limited to, tuition, fees, books, supplies, miscellaneous expenses, or room and board.
On the loan application, the applicant stated that the loan proceeds would be used for credit card refinancing. As standard procedure, Lending Club verifies the borrower's intended purpose of the loan during the application review process. Research indicated that the applicant's requested loan amount was significantly higher than the applicant's actual revolving credit line balances and credit card balances. Lending Club contacted the applicant by telephone to gather more information. During the course of conversation, it was believed that a portion of the loan proceeds would be used to pay off post-secondary educational expenses.
We encourage Mr. [redacted] to submit another application for an amount that does not include loan proceeds being used to pay off post-secondary educational expenses.

Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted]' Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint.
Ms. [redacted] raises a concern about her loan with Lending Club, specifically, that she requested payment assistance and...

was not assisted. Lending Club records reflect that Ms. [redacted] notified us of her new financial situation in May 2014 and that we presented a payment option that both fit within our guidelines and was agreeable to Ms. [redacted].
Ms. [redacted] has not performed as agreed.
Lending Club has informed Ms. [redacted] that we are unable to refinance or modify her loan, as the investors and Ms. [redacted] have contractually agreed to the terms of her loan note. Additionally, our records indicate that the information reported to the credit bureaus accurately reflects the disposition of Ms. [redacted]' loan.
We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to our attention by Ms. [redacted]. To the extent Ms. [redacted] has any further questions or concerns, please have her contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat. 6am-5pm PST.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/01/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Because Lending Club is unwilling to bend or assist their customers in any way, the information provided to the credit report on my behalf is a charge-off. That means the funds to be repaid to investors have been greatly reduced, and my credit report is greatly marred. This is not the remedy I wished which is why I contacted the personnel at the Lending Club for assistance before I began falling behind. Their refusal to assist a [redacted] in need (who had previously paid off a loan more than 3 years early) shows the heartless, ungiving nature of this company. Even after I requested a payment plan through the Revdex.com, they still turned me down.
I do not recommend Lending Club to anyone. It is the first time my family and I have struggled financially in more than 8 years...and unexpectedly. Now, with the aid of their terrible [redacted], my credit score has dropped more than 300 points.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint.
On 8/24/15, Ms. [redacted] contacted Lending Club advising she would be sending in a payoff check through a third party company. Lending Club...

received a check on 8/31/15. The check was applied to her account on 8/31/15 and her loan status reflected as "fully paid" on 9/4/15. Because the payoff came from a third party, Lending Club submitted the refund check to that third party. The refund check was mailed on 9/29/15.
Lending Club apologizes for the delay in processing time.
A Lending Club representative spoke with Ms. [redacted] via phone on 10/1/15 to clarify the refund process and apologize for any confusion.

We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention by Ms. [redacted]. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Ms. [redacted] contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint from Mr. [redacted].
The direct mail piece that was sent to Mr. [redacted] contains the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry Opt-In and Opt-Out toll-free telephone number. This...

telephone number is for consumers who want to stop receiving "pre-screened" offers of credit from our company and other companies. The information requested originated from the Consumer Credit Reporting Industry, not Lending Club.
Lending Club has taken the necessary steps to ensure that Mr. [redacted] will no longer receive mail solicitations from our company. We have removed his name and address from our marketing database.

Revdex.com Complaint Case # XXXXXXXX
Consumer: [redacted]
Case Opened: October 21, 2014
Consumer Complaint:
Lending Club withdrew funds from consumer's bank account.
Consumer's Desired Response:
Consumer would like the bank funds...

and any funds held in his Lending Club account to be transferred to his bank account.
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]' Revdex.com complaint.
On 10/31/2011, Mr. [redacted] opened a Lending Club investment account (the "Account"). On 10/13/2014, Mr. [redacted] linked an external bank account to the Account and requested a transfer of $400 from the external account to the Account. On 10/16/2014, Mr. [redacted] called Lending Club to report that he had intended to request a transfer from the Account to the external bank account and that the submitted request (to transfer from the external account to the Account) was therefore inaccurate. Lending Club determined that Mr. [redacted] had completed and submitted the transfer request, that the request authorized and requested that funds be moved from the external bank account to the Account, and that there was no processing error on the part of Lending Club. Lending Club informed Mr. [redacted] that it was not able to terminate transfer requests already in progress, but that Mr. [redacted] could initiate a transfer of the funds at issue out of his Account immediately once the funds settled in the Account. On 10/17/2014, Mr. [redacted] called Lending Club to follow up on the status of the funds and Lending Club informed Mr. [redacted] that the funds at issue were expected to settle on October 20, 2014. On October 20, 2014, the transferred funds settled and Lending Club assisted Mr. [redacted] by phone in initiating a transfer in the amount of $810.64 from the Account to the external bank account. Lending Club records show that the transfer settled on October 24, 2014. No fees were charged to Mr. [redacted] in connection with the transfer, and Lending Club does not charge fees to investors for electronic funds transfers from their Lending Club accounts to external bank accounts.
Mr. [redacted] remains able to withdraw to his external bank account at any time all available cash in the Account.
Please let us know if there are any further questions on this matter. Mr. [redacted] is welcome to contact Lending Club Investor Services directly via email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or by phone at XXX-XXX-XXXX Monday -Friday between 7am-5pm PST.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/11/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This is a lie and I talked to there [redacted] countless times, they are rude and unhelpful. The first time I called they said they couldn't even see that my bank was linked to the account even though they pulled money out without permission. The next day they said that it was. The [redacted] is the worse I have ever felt with. They are happy to help you set up a account and take your money but they have to transfer you to a rude department and wait on hold to talk to a represenitive that will ignore your wishes to take money from your account and just try and get you to try there services again. I took a huge loss doing business with these guys and can't wait until my investments are returned at a loss so I can cancel my account. I warn everyone I know about these scam artistist. Worse business I have ever felt with in my life. I still shake my head at myself daily falling for this scam. Lending club is a evil company no way around it. I will forever regret visiting there website.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/11/19) */
Thank you for the opportunity to reply to the response from Mr. [redacted] regarding his Revdex.com complaint. We apologize that Mr. [redacted] had a negative experience with our [redacted] representative and appreciate his feedback. As an online company, we strive to distinguish ourselves by providing exceptional [redacted] to existing and potential members and regret that we were not able to do so in this instance.
As previously noted, investors may link an external bank account to their Lending Club account. Information regarding a linked bank account is not available to Lending Club [redacted] representatives unless and until the bank account is verified by Lending Club. An investor may verify his linked bank account by requesting a transfer to or from the bank account and successfully transferring funds to or from such account. Transfers settle on the fourth business day following the date the transfer is requested. Upon successful settlement of transferred funds, the linked bank account becomes verified and information relating to it is available to Lending Club [redacted] representatives. Mr. [redacted] linked a bank account to his Lending Club account on 10/13/2014 and requested a transfer of funds from his bank account to his Lending Club account on 10/14/2014. On 10/16/2014 and 10/17/2014, the dates that Mr. [redacted] called Lending Club, his linked bank account was not verified and information relating to it was not available to Lending Club [redacted] representatives. On 10/20/2014, the transfer requested by Mr. [redacted] settled, the account was verified, and information relating to the linked bank account was available to Lending Club [redacted] representatives. On that date, Lending Club assisted Mr. [redacted] by telephone in withdrawing requested funds from his Lending Club account to his bank account. The withdrawal settled on 10/24/14.
We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint. Please let us know if there are any further questions on this matter. We are always seeking ways to improve our [redacted] model and processes and we will be happy to assist Mr. [redacted] upon his request. Additional concerns or clarifications may be directed to Lending Club Investor Services directly via email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com, or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Fri. 7am-5pm Pacific Standard Time.
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/11/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The guy I talked to was unhelpful and rude. He started the first conversation by saying my call was being recorded I replied by telling him I too was recording his call for [redacted] feedback sense I had already experienced such bad [redacted] already. His reply was he didn't want to be recorded. He knew he was providing a poor [redacted] for a poor company and didn't want it being made public. Every part of this company is shady. Saying sorry fixes nothing. This company is a preditor company and is out to serve itself. Be warned before giving a cent to these thieves!! Feel free to keep replying hoping the complaint will fall into default. I will reply every time. This company is in business for itself. There employees are thieves that want to record you but not be held to the same standard. And don't reply with some bull about how it's for security. You should verify who I am before giving out any sensitive info and after I varify myself it's up to me where I post it. Lending club is a scam!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/12/03) */
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint. We understand Ms. [redacted] is disappointed, and we would like to clarify the pre-approval process.
Lending Club uses information provided by...

credit bureaus, including credit score, outstanding debt, payment history, and recent credit activity, to identify potential borrowers and send pre-approved loan offers. At the time of loan application, Lending Club asks the applicant for other important information, such as income and employment status. Because several weeks can pass [redacted] the pre-screening process and the actual application, we may also request updated information from credit bureaus.
All of the information is used to determine if an applicant qualifies for a loan offer at that time. Common reasons for being declined for a loan after receiving a pre-approved offer are that an applicant's current outstanding debt is too high relative to his/her income or that changes have occurred in the applicant's credit report since pre-screening.
Ms. [redacted] can view the specific reasons why her application was declined in her adverse action notice which can be accessed by logging into her Lending Club Account Summary. Please note that the pre-screening process and loan application do not affect an applicant's credit score, because neither action is reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiry.
Loans originated through the Lending Club platform are underwritten and made by WebBank, Salt Lake City, UT, member FDIC. Lending Club delivered the adverse action letter to Ms. [redacted] on behalf of WebBank.
To ensure Ms. [redacted] does not receive any future unwanted marketing from Lending Club, we have complied with her request and removed her contact information from our email and direct mail marketing lists. Ms. [redacted] is eligible to apply again for a loan via Lending Club 30 days after the date of her last application. If there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Ms. [redacted] contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone at XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.

Received a pre-approval letter, went to apply and was denied. I don't appreciate my credit getting pulled for no reason. I am very careful with my credit. DO NOT APPLY HERE.

Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint.
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), consumer credit reporting agencies, such as Transunion and Experian, are...

permitted to include a consumer's name on lists used by creditors or insurers to make firm offers of credit or insurance not initiated by the consumer ("Firm Offers"). Under these same rules, Firm Offers must include instructions for how the consumer may opt-out of receiving future offers. Lending Club direct mail solicitations include a toll-free telephone number, as well as addresses for each of the three major national credit reporting agencies, which consumers can call to opt-out of all Firm Offers. Additionally, the solicitation includes a mailing address and email for consumers to specifically opt-out of communications from Lending Club.
The toll-free number that Mr. [redacted] called, and is referring to in his complaint, is operated by the consumer credit reporting agencies, not Lending Club. The agencies do require the consumer to provide their social security number in order to process the consumer's opt-out request. Lending Club, however, only requires enough information to properly identify the mailing address, e-mail address, or telephone number the consumer wishes to opt-out.
To comply with Mr. [redacted]'s request, Lending Club has removed his name and address from its mailing list. Please note that Mr. [redacted] may continue to receive Firm Offers from other companies unless he contacts the consumer reporting agencies directly.
We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention by Mr. [redacted]. If Mr. [redacted] has any further questions or concerns, please have him contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat. 6am-5pm PST.

I applied near the end of March
They deleted my file
never called
said I did not respond fast enough to download my tax return
Who ever heard of a lending company that deletes your file in 3 weeks if you do not download your tax return fast enough. I spoke with the manager. Basically said too bad. Download it faster next time. It is HARD to find their phone number. It is [redacted] by the way. They asked me to fill out irs form 4506-t and leave line 9 blank. I have no idea what this means but seems shady. fyi

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2016/02/04) */
Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s Revdex.com complaint.
Lending Club records indicate Ms. [redacted] has never had any relationship with Lending Club. The circumstances of the event to which Ms....

[redacted] has fallen victim are not the result of any actions by Lending Club or its affiliates. We are sorry to report that Ms. [redacted] appears to be the victim of an ongoing scheme where the Lending Club name or a variation of Lending Club is used to entice victims to pay up-front fees for non-existent loans, also known as an Advanced Fee Scam.
It appears that after a victim has applied for a loan online through an unaffiliated website, the victim's loan request information is somehow obtained by the fraudsters. The fraudster then contacts the victim using the Lending Club name (or variation thereof), promising the victim that they can obtain a loan through Lending Club by paying an application fee. In some instances, the fraudsters return to the same victim multiple times requesting additional funds in exchange for securing a loan. Funds are usually transferred to the fraudsters through the use of a Green Dot or Vanilla Visa card (or similar device), companies with whom Lending Club has no relationship.
All loans through Lending Club are made without any application fee and are funded by WebBank, a Utah Industrial Bank. Information regarding the relationship between Lending Club and WebBank may be found on our website at lendingclub.com.
Regrettably, Ms. [redacted] is another victim of this fraud scheme. She is not a consumer who has engaged in any financial transactions with Lending Club. The people she spoke with were part of the fraud scheme. The application fees delivered by Ms. [redacted] were not sent to Lending Club; they were likely sent directly to the fraudsters.
The Lending Club Fraud Department has spoken to Ms. [redacted]. She now understands that she is a victim of this scam. Lending Club recommended that Ms. [redacted] add a fraud alert to her Credit Bureau report, file a complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center, and report the scam to her state's Attorney General.
To our knowledge, these fraudsters have not been found to date and continue to prey upon their victims.
Lending Club continues to work with consumers and any and all appropriate and willing law enforcement agencies to find and prosecute these fraudsters (FBI Complaint Id: IXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, FTC Complaint Id: XXXXXXXX). The United States Secret [redacted] (San Francisco chapter) met with Lending Club on 11/13/13 to discuss this issue and has since launched their investigation.
If there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Ms. [redacted] contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Sincerely, [redacted]

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to [redacted]’s Revdex.com complaint.

We understand Mr. [redacted] is disappointed, and we would like to clarify the pre-approval process. LendingClub uses information provided by the credit bureaus, including credit score,...

outstanding debt, payment history and recent credit activity, to identify potential borrowers and send pre-approved loan offers based on those criteria. We verify this by requesting updated information from credit bureaus. We also request additional information, such as income and employment status. Loans originated through the LendingClub platform are underwritten and made by [redacted], member [redacted]. LendingClub delivered an adverse action letter to Mr. [redacted] on behalf of [redacted] on 7/25/2017.

If LendingClub is unable to locate a consumer’s credit profile, we would be unable to provide any rates or offers to them. This situation may occur if an applicant has a credit freeze on their credit report or if there are family members with similar names at the same address.

We attempted to contact Mr. [redacted] on 7/27/2017 to apologize for his experience and explain our process, but were unable to reach him.

To comply with his request to receive no further contact, Lending Club has removed the following information from our marketing lists as of 7/27/2017:

Mr. [redacted] will receive no further marketing materials via email. There may be additional marketing materials heading his way via mail, so please allow three to five weeks for all postal mail to stop arriving at his address. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Additionally, if this is not the correct information or there’s another name or address Mr. [redacted] would like us to remove from our marketing list, please have him contact LendingClub and we will promptly remove it.

We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention by Mr. [redacted]. If Mr. [redacted] has any additional questions or concerns, please have him contact LendingClub directly by email at [redacted], Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Pacific Time.

I have been receiving calls for many weeks. I have requested to be removed from their calling list a few dozen times. I am on the FTC do not call list. My most recent encounter resulted in the "employee" asking me if I "like to smell my underwear"... Seriously?

Revdex.com Complaint Case # XXXXXXXX
Borrower: [redacted]
Case Opened: 05/07/2014
Consumer Complaint:
Lending Club denied loan based on inaccurate review of documents
Consumer did not receive a personal response to...

emails
Lending Club collects too much personal information
Consumer's Desired Resolution:
Personal information destroyed
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to the complaint from Ms. [redacted].
Ms. [redacted] states that Lending Club was inaccurate in the review of her documents.
As part of our process, Lending Club follows an income verification process to validate the annual income a potential borrower states on the loan application. Lending Club requested documents from Ms. [redacted] to verify her personal annual income that she stated on the application. We requested her most recent tax return as part of the required documents. Ms. [redacted] submitted her 2012 tax return since her 2013 tax return had not been filed yet. After reviewing the documents provided, Lending Club denied the loan application because the documents submitted did not support and verify the income stated on the application. Ms. [redacted] is welcome to re-apply when the documentation that can verify her stated income is available for review.
Ms. [redacted] also said that she did not get a personal response to her email inquiries.
Lending Club provides email support through all phases of the application process. However some questions are better answered with a phone call. If Ms. [redacted] has any further questions, she is welcome to contact us by phone XXX-XXX-XXXX from Monday through Saturday 6am to 5pm PST.
The other issue Ms. [redacted] refers to is how Lending Club handles personal information.
The privacy and the protection of sensitive personal information are important to Lending Club. Lending Club takes strong steps to safeguard personal and sensitive information through vigorous physical, electronic and operational policies and practices. In compliance with applicable laws and regulations, there are certain reporting and information retention requirements with which Lending Club must comply. As a result, Lending Club cannot remove Ms. [redacted]'s personal information. Lending Club's privacy policy can be found at: https://www.lendingclub.com/public/privacy-policy.action or by visiting Lendingclub.com.
We thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to our attention by Ms. [redacted]. Please let us know if there are any further questions on this matter. Ms. [redacted] is welcome to contact Lending Club Member Support directly via email [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Monday-Saturday 6am to 5pm PST.

I was never notified of this failed payment.  I will send the statement for May, but I need negative reports to credit agencies removed, as I was not notified this and tried to make all payments in good faith. You can confirm with [redacted] and [redacted] there are no stop payments for Lending Club or [redacted].

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/17) */
Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to response to [redacted]'s Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint.
Lending Club has strong identity verification and authentication mechanisms to ensure that an application is valid...

and to avoid the risk of identity theft. Our application process is completed online; therefore, we often look to verify identity via a phone conversation during which we ask several personal questions that only the individual would know. Unfortunately, to meet this high standard of proper identification and identity theft prevention we do not allow this step to be completed via email. The aim is to protect our borrowers from security infringements, and we regret that this also prevents a portion of applicants from being approved for loans. We understand that potential borrowers may have varying schedules, so Lending Club agents are available Monday through Saturday from 6am to 5pm PST to help complete this step.
Ms. [redacted] sent a request to withdraw her application if there were no alternative methods for completing the phone verification. Because Lending Club is unable to alter the phone verification process to include other forms of communication, we complied with her request and withdrew her application.
Applying for a loan with Lending Club has no negative effect on an applicant's credit score, and applicants who have withdrawn their previous applications are welcome to re-apply with Lending Club at any time.
If there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Ms. [redacted] contact Lending Club directly by email at [redacted]@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:  lending club still has not removed my name from thisaccountSincerely,[redacted]

I was very happy with the promptness and easy paperwork to fill out, however, which I did not expect was a $504.00 "originating fee", so I couldn't get the full amount that I wanted. Overall, this was a very easy loan to get.
Thank you.
