Lending Club is in receipt of Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint case number XXXXXXXXLending Club is aware of the situation referenced in the complaint to the Revdex.comThe circumstances of the event to which Mr*** *** has
fallen victim are not the result of any actions by Lending Club or its affiliatesWe are sorry to report that Mr*** was defrauded by an ongoing scheme where the Lending Club name or a variation of Lending Club is used to entice victims to pay up-front fees for non-existent loans
It appears that after a victim has applied for a loan online through an unaffiliated website, the victim's loan request information is somehow obtained by the fraudstersThe fraudster then contacts the victim using the Lending Club name or a variation of Lending ClubThey promise the victim that they can obtain a loan through Lending Club by paying an application feeIn some instances, the fraudsters return to the same victim multiple times requesting additional funds in exchange for securing a loanFunds are usually transferred to the fraudsters through the use of a Green Dot or Vanilla Visa card (or similar device), companies with whom Lending Club has no relationship
All loans obtained through the Lending Club platform are made without any application fee and are funded by WebBank, a Utah Industrial BankInformation regarding the relationship between Lending Club and WebBank may be found on our website at lendingclub.com
Regrettably, Mr*** is another victim of this fraud schemeHe is not a consumer who has engaged in any financial transactions with Lending ClubThe people he spoke with were part of the fraud schemeThe application fees delivered by Mr*** were not sent to Lending Club; they were likely sent directly to the fraudsters
The Lending Club Fraud Department has reached out to Mr*** to contact usUpon contacting us, we will advise him that he is a victim of this fraud scheme and will recommend that he add a fraud alert to his Credit bureau report as well as file a complaint with the FTC
To our knowledge, these fraudsters have not been found to date and continue to prey upon their victims
Lending Club continues to work with consumers and any and all appropriate and willing law enforcement agencies to find and prosecute these fraudsters (FBI Complaint Id: IXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, FTC Complaint Id: XXXXXXXX)The United States Secret Service (San Francisco chapter) met with Lending Club on 11/13/to discuss this issue and has since launched their investigation

Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to *** ***' Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), consumer credit reporting agencies, such as Transunion and Experian,

Once Lending Club opts out a mailing address, it may take three to five weeks for all postal mail to stop arriving at the stated addressIn some instances, there may be marketing materials that were sent prior to our processing of an opt-out requestLending Club apologizes for the inconvenience we may have caused Ms***
If there's another address where Ms*** has been receiving mail that she also wants us to remove from our list, please have her contact Lending Club

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to *** ***'s Revdex.com complaintWe understand Ms*** is disappointed, and we would like to clarify the pre-approval process
Lending Club uses information provided
by credit bureaus, including credit score, outstanding debt, payment history, and recent credit activity, to identify potential borrowers and send pre-approved loan offers
At the time of loan application, Lending Club asks the applicant for other important information, such as the applicant's personal annual income and employment statusBecause several weeks can pass *** the pre-screening process and the actual application, we also request updated information from the credit bureausBoth sets of information are used to determine if an applicant qualifies for a loan offer at that time
Common reasons for being declined for a loan after receiving a pre-approved offer are that an applicant's current outstanding debt is too high relative to the applicant's personal annual income or that changes have occurred in the applicant's credit report since pre-screeningThe specific reasons why Ms***'s loan application was declined are provided in an adverse action notice, which can be viewed by logging into her Lending Club account summary
Loans originated through the Lending Club platform are underwritten and made by WebBank, Salt Lake City, UT, member FDICLending Club delivered the adverse action letter to Ms*** on behalf of WebBank
Please note that the pre-screening process and loan application do not affect an applicant's credit score, because neither action is reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiryMs*** is eligible to apply again for a loan via Lending Club in the future
To ensure Ms*** does not receive any future unwanted contact from Lending Club, we removed her contact information from our email and direct mail marketing listsIf there are further questions regarding this matter, please have Ms*** contact Lending Club directly by email at ***@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat 6am-5pm PST

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to *** ***'s Revdex.com complaint
Mr*** contacted Lending Club on 10/19/stating he sent in a check to pay off his loan through Lending ClubHe also advised the
check cleared his deposit account on 10/14/15, but that his Lending Club account did not reflect the paymentUpon further research, Lending Club discovered the check had been received and processed by Lending Club's processing bank; however, the check was missing information which prevented the timely application to Mr***'s loan
A Lending Club representative reached out to Mr*** to obtain information and discuss the issue in detailThe funds have been applied to his account as of 11/17/15, with an effective date of 10/14/15, and his loan is now paid in fullWe have adjusted the account so that interest did not accrue after 10/14/Additionally, Mr***'s payments have been reported as on-time to the credit bureaus

To whom it may concern:
Lending Club has received a Complaint Activity Report for Case # XXXXXXXX and would like to take this opportunity to respond to the Revdex.com regarding this consumer's complaint
Lending Club has
partnered with Folio Investing, a registered broker dealer, to allow investors access to buy and sell Lending Club Notes via a secondary market trading platformLending Club accountholders must apply separately for trading accounts in order to access this secondary market trading platform, which is operated by Folio InvestingAs part of this trading account application process, we collect investor information as submitted by the investor and provide this to Folio Investing, who then reviews and approves the application to enable the investor to access the trading platformMr***'s complaint concerns this trading account application process
Mr*** applied for a trading account and in doing so, provided an address that contained appended information beyond the physical street address that did not relate to the address itselfAs a result, when the application was submitted to Folio for approval, the extra information prevented Folio from verifying the address automatically, which caused a delay in the processing of his applicationWe reached out to suggest the consumer remove the appended information to expedite the approval processHe subsequently made the requested change, and Folio Investing approved the application promptly after we notified them that the client had corrected his addressWe then reached out to the consumer to confirm that his trading account application had been approvedHe appeared satisfied with the resolution and responded to our email to thank us for completing his request
Folio Investing has also provided a response, which we emailed to the consumer and have attached here for your records
We consider this matter resolved

Lending Club values feedback from investors on its platform, and we thank you for the opportunity to respond to Ms***'s complaint
First, we would like to assure you that our representative took Ms***'s concerns very
seriously, and the issues that she raised with respect to her investment in loan #XXXXXXX were escalated internally on the same day that she called us, June 30thWhen Ms*** filed this issue with the Revdex.com on August 4th, her escalated case was still open and pending resolution with our Investor Services team
At this time, we have thoroughly reviewed this matterAs a result of borrower payments and collection efforts, the status of the loan in which Ms*** invested changed very quickly in our systemsWhile we recognize that the automated loan status updates that Ms*** viewed may have seemed unclear, the updates were appropriate given the unusual and rapidly changing payment status associated with the loanWe sincerely regret any confusion that Ms*** may have experiencedWe are currently reviewing our processes to determine whether enhancements can be made that would allow us to provide additional, helpful information to investors while continuing to protect borrowers' privacy and sensitive information
We thank you for the opportunity to respond to this complaintPlease let us know if there are any further questions on this matterMs*** is welcome to contact Lending Club Investor Services directly via email: ***@lendingclub.com or by phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Fri7am-5pm PST

Lending Club is in receipt of Revdex.com (Revdex.com) complaint case number XXXXXXXX submitted by *** *** and would like to clarify the pre-approval process and explain the adverse action notice she received
Lending
Club uses information provided by credit bureaus, including credit score, outstanding debt, payment history, and recent credit activity, to identify potential borrowers and send pre-approved loan offers based on those criteriaWhen a potential *** goes online to apply for a loan, we ask for additional information from the applicant and updated information from the credit bureaus to determine if we can provide loan offers for the applicant
Lending Club will not process any loan request without the ***'s full authorizationTo complete this authorization, the *** must electronically acknowledge their acceptance before submitting a request for loan offersAll loans are made by WebBank, a Utah-chartered Industrial Bank, member FDIC
When Ms*** submitted her online loan request to Lending Club she agreed to Lending Club's Terms of Use and Credit Profile Authorization through electronic signatureOnce we received her loan request and authorizations, Lending Club evaluated the information she provided and obtained her consumer credit report as part of the application process
Unfortunately, we were not able to offer Ms*** the full amount of the loan she requested, but she was presented with counter-offersMs*** is not required to select a loan offer and has no obligation to continue with the loan processHowever, Lending Club's policy requires us to provide Ms*** with an Adverse Action notice if no offers are selected by the time the offers expireOffers expire in the Lending Club system after daysThe Adverse Action notice explains the specific reason(s) why we could not approve Ms***'s full amount of the loan she initially requested
Please note that the pre-screening process and loan application did not affect Ms***'s credit score, because neither action is reported to credit bureaus as a hard credit inquiry
Lending Club has taken the necessary steps to ensure that Ms*** will no longer receive mail and email solicitations from our companyWe have removed her contact information from our marketing database
We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention by Ms***If Ms*** as any further questions or concerns, please have her contact Lending Club directly by email at ***@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat6am-5pm PST

Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to address *** ***'s complaint to the Revdex.com
Mr*** applied for a loan with Lending Club on February 24, Before Lending Club issues out a loan, we
evaluate the loan application as part of our approval processWe have strong, proprietary identity verification and authentication mechanisms to ensure that an application is valid and to avoid the risk of identity theft or any prohibited use of the loanOur application process is completed online; therefore, we often look to verify identity via a phone conversation during which we ask several personal questions that only the individual would know
After speaking with Mr***, we were unable to verify the information on his applicationThere were details in his loan application that indicated his loan was delivered to Lending Club through a third party (broker)Lending Club does not accept applications through brokersApplying for a loan through Lending Club is free, and no loan broker or *** is authorized to charge a fee or submit an application on someone else's behalfAs a result of this, Lending Club could not proceed with the loan and removed the applicationMr*** can log into his Lending Club account to read more about this decision on his Adverse Action notice
As he was informed, Mr*** is welcome to reapply for a loan through Lending ClubTo reapply, Mr*** will need to create a new Lending Club account by using an email address not used with his original applicationLending Club uses email addresses as unique identifiers for our loans which can prohibit a borrower to re-use an email address
We thank you again for the opportunity to respond to this complaint brought to your attention by Mr***If Mr*** as any further questions or concerns, please have him contact Lending Club directly by email at ***@lendingclub.com or phone XXX-XXX-XXXX Mon-Sat6am-5pm PST

Thank you for giving Lending Club the opportunity to respond to *** ***'s RevDex.com (Revdex.com) complaint
Lending Club is very excited about helping people achieve their financial goalsBecause Lending Club has a
different application process than a traditional bank, we understand there may be some hesitation about our application process and providing sensitive information onlineUntil a loan offer is accepted and all four remaining steps of the application are completed to list a loan, rates are subject to change due to changes to the borrower's credit profile or changes to market conditionsAs a result of this, Lending Club pro-actively reaches out to potential consumers to answer any questions and to help clarify the application process
Our records indicate Ms*** submitted an application for a loan through Lending Club; however, we were unable to provide an offer for the full amount requested and instead presented Ms*** with counteroffersWe understand that Ms*** received several emails from a loan specialistThis was an effort to clarify any questions Ms*** had concerning the counteroffersBecause Ms*** did not accept an alternate offer, Lending Club was required to send an Adverse Action notice listing the reasons why we could not approve her initial requestWe apologize for any confusionPer her request, Ms*** has been removed from our marketing system
