Review: I contacted guruaid on line to help with a problem I was having installing [redacted] anti virus. They said they were an authorized rep. for them. They said I had problems with my computer and they would fix the problems and install [redacted] for $120. I allowed them into my computer, but I couldn't see most of what they were doing. They did install [redacted], but my computer was running worse than before I made the call. The next afternoon I called back to get it resolved and they were once again in my computer for several hours. After the session ended, the computer was running even worse. It stopped responding, even the [redacted], so I shut it down and the next day took it in to a repair shop. They had to reset windows in order to get it to work and they couldn't reinstall [redacted] because my code was already used by guruaid. So I am out the $120. for them, the $50. for [redacted], and another $80. to repair my computer. I believe guruaid put a virus in my computer since I was only having minor problems with it before they got into it on two separate occasions. They never fixed the problem and I won't allow them back into my computer to try again, as I do not trust them.Desired Settlement: I used my debit card to pay for the service and since they just made matters entirely worse, I would like them to reverse the charge on my debit card.

According to the recording of the transactions, Ms. [redacted] stated that she was under assumption that we were [redacted] Support when she reached us. When you do a search on [redacted] presents a list of relevant search results. These results may have the information you are seeking and additional information that [redacted] thinks may be of relevance to you. In this case, Ms. [redacted] happened to choose/click on the result which had a reference to our organization. However, GuruAid advisor branded the company appropriately and informed Ms. [redacted] that “We are GuruAid an Independent PC Support Company”, multiple times and Ms. [redacted] acknowledge that fact.

After a number of days with my account access problem ,this was today resolved by a very efficient technician, (Miland T[redacted]) and this was very much appreciated. I can now continue as normal Many thanks again.

/THINGS WERE GREAT, THANK YOU

I would highly recommend this service to any one that owns a computer. They have found lost files restored videos. They are the best!!

I cannot thank [redacted] enough for their wonderful technician Vineet S[redacted]. He is so polite, through in his work, knowledgeable, and patient. He is a real credit to your organization.

Thanks to [redacted] technicians. They were professional and extremely helpful. Thanks so much.

Service was friendly, professional, effective

I've been a customer of [redacted] for several years now and I am always confident that someone will fix my problems with the computer and have done so. This last time there were many, many problems because I have an older computer but each tech did what they had to do to upgrade and add whatever had to be added. They cleaned out any files that were not needed making the computer faster too. I have been talking about this support group whenever I can to people who have computers.

Best expierence of my life

Review: GuruAid A company owned by Lester Inc did not provide services as promised and they agreed to refund my $100. After many calls seeking the repayment which was dated 1/2/2014 I'm seeking help here. I was told many times of a glitch in their repayment system and asked 5 times for 48 hours to resolve the issue guaranteeing me my refund with no results. I'm requesting an immediate refund of my $100Desired Settlement: Requesting my refund of $100 for services and software not rendered

I refund check was mailed on 2/11/14 to Mr. [redacted].

Review: Hello,Please do not ever use the company called GuruAid. They are a SCAM SCAM SCAM! They basically charged me $120 bucks to fix an issue I was having with [redacted]. Long story short...they did not fix the issue and instead gave me about 20 more issues that I hadn't had before. They guaranteed that they would fix it and that I was in good hands. They told me they were the only ones that could fix this type of issue and that anywhere else would charge me almost double for what they charged. So I gave them remote control of my computer and sat in front of it for 2 hours while they moved things around did scans and whatever else they did. After a long two hours sitting in front of my laptop, the issue was "fixed" or so I thought. Later that day I went online to use [redacted] and my entire library was all messed up. All the files were unable to be located. They had deleted all my purchased [redacted] and I now had 20 more problems on top of the one single issue I initially needed help with that STILL was not even resolved! I had to call again the next day. They did the same thing again....and once again it was not fixed. I called a 3rd time...same thing....and NOT fixed. They literally were creating more and more issues each time. So I stopped calling and took my laptop to the [redacted] in [redacted] they fixed it in 20 minutes and said NEVER to use GuruAid. GuruAid downloaded a virus on my computer and in addition moved all my [redacted] around so I couldn't locate it. They temporarily fixed the issue so I'd have to keep calling back. I am now disputing that charge with the bank to get my money back and will be getting my money back for sure. I won't even deal with GuruAid or speak to them because I don't trust them. They are scammers and please do not use them! I learned a tough lesson and was a fool for trusting them. If you need help with your laptop go straight to [redacted]. Don't use these fools. They don't know what they're doing and they will make your life miserable like they did mine for over a week!Desired Settlement: I want this company to go out of business. Basically the only way to make that happen is to spread the word to everyone and tell everyone TO NOT USE THEM and they will simply lose business and just die out. I can't believe there are people out there like this that take advantage of those that really desperately need help and don't know much about computers or who to turn to. If there is a way to shut them down that would be AMAZING. It would help many!

[redacted] contacted us on September 6, 2013 about an

issue she was having with her [redacted] purchases. Each time she tried to [redacted] she got an error message. Our GuruAid advisor downloaded and ran [redacted] scan to help diagnose the problem. Our technician assisting Ms. [redacted] felt the

issue was resolved and Ms. [redacted] confirmed that it was.

Ms. [redacted] called the next day stating that she could not play

her new [redacted], the technician assisted her and thought it was once again resolved and instructed Ms. [redacted] about the

antivirus program that might have been blocking [redacted].

There was two ways to help with this logging in issues with [redacted],

one is logging into the [redacted] account or instructing the customer how to

authorize [redacted] individually. The technician should have resolved the issue by

logging into the [redacted] account since she was still having the same issues for a

second day. We sincerely apologize for

the inconvenience caused; we have issued a full refund of $120.00 to Ms.

[redacted]. A confirmation email referring to

the refund has been sent to Ms. [redacted] @ [redacted]

Responded promptly and had issue resolved.Big Thanks

My experiences with [redacted] today were excellent. The technician answered all my questions. I am sure I will definitely use the product and the company in the future. Thank you..

[redacted] had first contacted GuruAid on 02/27/13 to fix the un-installation issue with the software CC Cleaner. Our technician assisted her in fixing the issue after signing up for 3 Year AMP subscription. Ms. [redacted] confirmed the issue was fixed to her satisfaction.

[redacted] called again 05/28/13 to fix issues with her printer which was connected to her computer. However during the diagnosis for the solution, Ms [redacted] expressed her dissatisfaction with the questions and amount of time it was taken and disconnected the remote session with the technician.

Our technician tried reaching out to [redacted] on the 29th, 30th and 31st but was unable to contact her.

We are sorry that Ms. [redacted] was not satisfied with the service this second time she called; we would have liked the opportunity to fix her problem. In keeping with our liberal refund policy, we have issued a full refund and have sent a confirmation email to Ms.[redacted] on 5/31/13.

Review: I believe I was scammed into receiving services on my computer that were unnecessary.

I called the number on my web browser for Microsoft technical support after receiving a call from India that my computer email had been hacked. When I connected with GuruAid I was led to believe I was speaking with Microsoft. The person from "Microsoft" was also from India. They had me give them access to my computer and after several minutes of trouble shooting said I had "multiple viruses attached to my programs and that the viruses needed to be cleaned off. I agreed and when the online invoice came up I then realized it was GuruAid not Microsoft that I was speaking to. I questioned this and they assured me that even though they were not Microsoft they were an independent company that did technical support for Microsoft. I felt at that time that I was probably being scammed but I was too far into it to get out and I was fearful something would be done to my computer. I watched as they downloaded a "clean-up" program for $20+ dollars and then click through my folders. They suggested I remove a virus program from my computer and they turned on my firewall. The process took approximately 45 minutes from start of the call until they got off my computer. I am confident at this point that the original call came from this company and that they lured me into an unnecessary service by scaring me into believing my computer had been hacked. They led me to believe I was speaking with Microsoft and it was not until they were into my computer that I realized I was not. I am now going to take my computer to my local computer store to be checked to ensure GuruAid put nothing on my computer that gives them access to my files or compromises the way my computer functions. I will also see if I need to have the Anti Virus program put back on the computer.Desired Settlement: I want my $100 back and I want to see a change in the way this company is allowed to advertise their services. They should not be allowed to use the Microsoft name to lure customers in.

Ms. [redacted] called GuruAid on 3/30/13 because she received a call from a company claiming to be Microsoft, informing her that her e-mail has been hacked.

Ms. [redacted] searched online for Microsoft technical support and chose the number on the search engine apparently unaware that she was calling GuruAid.

GuruAid is a legitimate independent technical service provider for various products including Microsoft. We handle thousands of technical issues each day for thousands of our satisfied customers. Ms. [redacted] states she is confident that the original scam call came from GuruAid, this is not true. GuruAid does not make outbound calls, other then to respond to our own customers.

One of our reps tried to assist Ms. [redacted] with some issues on her computer and informed her about GuruAid and its services. Ms. [redacted] agreed to sign up for a One Time Fix for $100. Ms. [redacted] was then connected to one of the technicians to work on her computer and the issue was resolved the same day and Ms. [redacted] confirmed that on the chat.

Ms. [redacted] called us back on the 4/3/13 and informed that she is not happy with our service and was unhappy about her antivirus being removed from her computer, she asked for a refund of the $100 charged to her credit card.

Our Customer Service rep informed Ms. [redacted] that we would cancel the charge for $100 on her credit card on 4/3/13 and it would reflect on her account in the next 5-7 business days. A confirmation email was sent to her on 4/4/13.

100%

Review: [redacted] Damage My Computer/Abuse Exploration Practices My computer was tampered with by a [redacted]nician 7/23/14 approximately 1:20 pm to approx. 3:30 pm. Suddenly I was disconnected. Prior to the LogMeIn situation, my computer work fine no problems. When I attempted to do work on my computer, it is corrupted. I am unable save document, IT converts to auto recovery-read only, and unable to exit/close/open documents. I called [redacted] and reported the incident and was told I was not a customer and I had to pay for the service. However, this was not what occurred this afternoon. I called a [redacted] Customer Service number that was intercepted by [redacted] Support services. The reason for the call was I needed to know how to scan and upload a document. The unidentified technician said he could help me with that and he requested me to LogMeIn. He scan a document for me, of course I had previously scan the same document. I only needed to know how to locate it to upload it to another document. This is the problem. He had permission to check my scanner but not investigate the whole compute software and programs (he did not request payment or contract) for this performance. He proceeded to explore my computer and documents. Stated to me that I had a "lot of mess and unnecessary stuff on the computer, 7529 problems found which conflicts with the printer and scanner. no protection on my computer and [redacted] not active." He suggested he could fix the problems with a 1 year contract of $180,but when I informed him that I was unable to pay immediately due to financial hardship. Tech kept insisting and pressuring me to purchase the contract. Finally, the telephone call was abruptly and suddenly disconnected. Later, I attempted to work on my computer and discovered it is not functioning. I think that the Tech corrupted my computer intentionally and deliberately.so I would have to pay to have it repaired or fixed. I immediately reported this incident to [redacted]Desired Settlement: Refer to:[redacted].com is a BAD virus tech support company that will infect your computer! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrLObI8UPPIThe Consumer Voicehttp://www.complaintslist.com/?s=[redacted]12 [redacted] Complaintshttp://[redacted].pissedconsumer.com/Complaint Wirehttp://complaintwire.org/complaint/yaIP728u7gQ/guru-aid[redacted] Complaints & Reviewshttp://www.complaintsboard.com/bycompany/[redacted]-a439293.html

Response:

[redacted] contacted us on July 23, 2014 stating that she needed

assistance and informed [redacted] advisor that she had issues with her [redacted]

scanner. She had dialed [redacted] Tech

Support number but reached a different company, it was not [redacted]. That

technician, whom she first spoke with, was not from [redacted]. He took remote

access of her computer and checked her scanner; he checked other software on

her pc and pressured her for a sale stating that she had “7529 problems” in her

computer. [redacted] was concerned because

her computer started since then her computer did not functioning properly after

the technician took remote access of it.

Prior to that [redacted] states it was in good condition. [redacted]

is mistaken in her claim that the technician was from [redacted].

Per our recordings of all contact history,

there was no contact made by [redacted] to [redacted] to fix any issue before

this one call to us in the evening. Our [redacted] advisor probed for more

information about the technician [redacted] had spoken with however she did

not any information but claimed it was [redacted].

In order to check what really happened with [redacted]’s computer,

our advisor took remote access of the computer. As [redacted] wanted to fix the

issues, our advisor informed her that in order to fix the issue she would have

to sign-up for the [redacted] Annual Maintenance Plan or could sign up for the

Single Incident Plan, to which [redacted] declined and wanted to fix the issue

for free claiming that it was [redacted] who had created the issues and want it to

rectified without any charge.

[redacted] declined to pay for the subscription; there is no record of a charge of $100.00

made to [redacted]. Our advisor advised [redacted] to take the computer to a local technician. [redacted] agreed and

hung-up from the call after which there was no contact made.
