Lobel Financial

Review: Every month we get a call from Lobel Financial telling us that our payment is late. The payment is due on the last day of the month. We have been told, as long as it is in by the 10th of the following month, it is not late. The payment is always sent in by the 7th (on the following month, so that it gets there by the 10th). We have not received any late payment notices. Which tells us that they are receiving our payments on time. This month, as in the past, they called and said if we keep making late payments, they are going to repossess the vehicle. What late payments!!! We only have about 8 more payments and the vehicle is ours. I am extremely tired of these monthly harrasing phone calls.Desired Settlement: Have them stop harrassing us with a monthly phone call and just let us pay off the loan by making our usual monthly payment.

Response:

As stipulated on the Retail Installment Contract, a payment is considered late should it not be received on its due date. While a late charge is not accessed until the 10th day after the payment is due, the account is still considered late. As per the customer’s request, our office will cease and desist any further outbound telephonic communication. It will be the customer’s responsibility to ensure payments are made in a timely fashion and report any delinquent payments directly to our office. We will gladly continue to service the customer’s account should he contact our office directly.

Review: on 2/5/2014 my vehicle was impounded and placed on a thirty day hold my finance company lobel finance picked up the vehicle and when I found out I contacted them on 2/7/2014 to make arangements to pick the vehicle up and pay all money owed a representative stated that I would only be able to get the vehicle back if I paid the full amount owe on my contract bcuzz the vehicle was impounded an they no longer wanted to finance me because I broke my contract. I told her I never signed anything stating that in fact I never signed anything she told me to contact the dealer she couldnt do anything about it she didnt evevn tell me what was actually going on also I asked for something in writing stating that the car was being repoed or taken because I broke the contract she refused on behalf of lobel financial all I recieved was a copy of a contract that I never signed myself but has my name signed on it and still doesnt state anywhere that if the car was impounded they would cancell the contract also no real reason why the vehicle will not b returned to me and no contract showing me where I agreed to the stated terms on behalf on lobel financial.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my vehicle returned to me or my money along with a letter showing that they decided not finance me bcause of what ever reason.

Response:

Management has thoroughly reviewed the customer’s account. The financed collateral was repossessed on 2-6-14 for failure to keep the vehicle free of liens and/or encumbrances. The customer was explained what was necessary to recover the collateral and documentation confirming the same information was generated and mailed on 2-7-14. Per the customer’s request, a copy of her original retail contract was mailed on 2-13-14. While the redemption period expired 2-24-14, should the customer still want to recover the financed collateral, she should contact our Redemption department immediately to discuss her options.
