I called this company from my home outside of New Haven, CT. I called . I explained in detail that we had a locked bedroom door, that it opened with a key, and that the key was inside the room. I asked for a quote. The woman said the cost of a service call was $29 and the cost of opening a room door would start at $59. I asked how I'd get a quote for our specific lock, and she said that the service person would tell us what it would cost and we could agree or refuse the service. Then a man called me a few minutes later from . He said he'd be here between 7:30 and 8 pm. At 8:15 pm, he arrived. We showed him the door, and he said the cost would be $29 for the service call and $149 to open the lock. I expressed surprise, and he said it was because he'd have to use a drill. I said that I didn't think a drill was needed, that he should first try other less invasive methods, and I refused to sign the invoice agreeing to the $149. In 10 minutes he had the door open -- first he tried using a pick, which didn't work; and then he used an air wedge pump and it opened. I was glad because I understood that the cost would be far less than $149 because he didn't need the drill. But then he lied and said I still owed him $149 because he opened the door. He said it didn't matter whether he used a drill or something else. I was surprised & asked, "Well that means that lockout service is never less than $149 if it doesn't matter the method used." He didn't answer, but just shoved the invoice in my face. We were the only ones standing upstairs besides my children, and I didn't want trouble, so I signed the invoice and paid him a total of $189.30. I then called the main number and explained what had occurred; I said that he was dishonest and should not be used in the future and I asked for a discount for the service as I had not been given an accurate quote. The "manager," Garrett, kept talking over me, saying that I had agreed to the price because I had signed the invoice!

I have read your review and can understand that their was some miscommunication. Our dispatch can not give quotes, only starting rates, over the phone. I would like to waive your service fee of $29, due to the miscommunication. If you are okay with this, please confirm with the Revdex.com that this case is settled and email me the last 4 digits of the credit card used, so I can refund at locksmithconnections@***.com.

I was locked out of my vehicle in Los Angeles and called this company for a locksmith. The dispatcher quoted me a price of a $29.99 service fee and an additional fee of $40.00. She told me a locksmith would contact me to assist us as it was after midnight and I was concerned for my safety. When their locksmith called me I was quoted the same price as the dispatcher quoted me, but when the locksmith arrived, the price immediately jumped to over $300 without just cause. The service was very simple, and included very basic services to get onto my car and open the trunk, yet the locksmith then claimed that this fee was now $214.00 after I told him I refused to pay over $300.
At no point was I told one fee by either this company's dispatcher or the locksmith. Instead it appeared they were taking advantage of an unfortunate situation to extract more money from me and I found this to be very poor business practices. I was not billed for the quoted amount that the dispatcher told me and the locksmith over the phone. Instead, I was billed for double the price on the spot. Do not use this company, as this is very deceptive business practices. It appears they are ready to take advantage of desperation and will do anything they can to try to extract more money from you. Be aware if you are *** locksmiths and do not use this company for any help. Instead, see if your car insurance can help or credit card company as they will likely be more honest.

I have reviewed your complaint and I understand that you had negotiated the price with the locksmith and agreed for a price to service your car. After this agreement, he performed the service. I can not reimburse you the starting price rate gave by our dispatch because they are not authorized to handle pricing since they are not the performing locksmith. Dispatch are only authorized to state how much a locksmith cost to come to you and the starting price for the type of service, since there are many situations and vehicles thate an experienced locksmith needs to consider.

I am rejecting this response because:

The rates are most certainly not disclosed on your website as a range and nowhere does it indicate that. You need to be transparent about charging people money, especially in a time of need. It is not ok to take advantage of people in a desperate situation. You should, according to FTC consumer guidelines, post the full range of prices on your website so people know up front what they can expect to pay when using your services.

We do have a price range listed on our website. I just checked. Again, dispatch can not give quotes over the phone since they are not the expert. Only a locksmith, who is doing the work can give quotes. They must be on site to see your situation to give a quote. Sorry to hear that you would like it differently, but the locksmith must see your problem to understand how to solve it.

Unscrupulous and an opportunist company!
They take advantage of vulnerable people on desperate situations.
My case was my sister was locked out of her apartment on Saturday April 13, 2019. I called this company and the lady who answered the phone; asked for name, phone number and address. I provided them. I was calling for service to my sister who didn't speak English but she can understand. I asked for prices and she told me $29.00 dollars service call plus the service provided. Final price would be provided by the technician.
Technician arrived, drilled the door knob obviously the expensive method.
The nightmare started. He opened the door and claimed "I need to change the door knob" -"Your insurance will cover" "Do you own the apartment?." My answer was -"Leave it, like that" -" We are not allowed to change door knobs because it is on my sister's lease contract". She didn't own the apartment. He was stubborn about changing the lock. Obviously at 10:40 pm, her tenant will not answer the phone. He was upset and insisting. Because of his stubbornness; I asked for final price if he changed the door knob. He said "It will cost you $69.00 because it is the best quality door knob". I asked him twice about the price because my sister only has $70 dollars cash to pay. He assured me; it was $69.00 final price. I told my sister and we accepted the "final price" after all. We have the money to pay for it.
What a surprised when my sister called me and told me that he was charging $248.00 dollars. I talked with him by phone and I replied what he told me before. He said "No, you need to pay me this amount" "I did, the service". I replied to him about the price, he gave me before. And I told him, "I will call the office to tell about your dishonesty." What a SURPRISE! I received, when I called and I heard a lady voice who answered the phone treated with UNPROFESSIONALISM, and replied "You need to pay the service". I replied; "It was not the amount, he told me. He told me $69.00 and now he is demanding $248.00 dollars that it is not the amount he told me first. She said; -"You need to pay with card now" -"BUSINESS IS BUSINESS" . I tried to explain what is happening and the situation, we were living, but she said -"You need to pay". I answered; "We only have $70.00 dollars cash. That's why. We verified the price before the technician did a job. So, we can pay without difficulties. After, I can't reasoning with her, I asked, -“Could you send me a bill, please?", I can't pay right now because I don't have the money with me. Send me a bill. I will pay in about five more days because my sister will receive a paycheck or wait until tomorrow, so we can get the money and pay the rest". She answered; "No, you know. Business is business" I replied,” So, you are seeing us as a business not as a customers what a shame". I have a business and I know what a customer means but for them we are just MONEY. I replied to her; "You don't even take care about my explanation." Not even care about the first price gave and the last one charging to us.
While talking with her; my sister called me on the other line. and said "this technician started getting out of control demanding me money, blaming me on his time spent, threating me and saying that he will take off the new door knob and put back the old one but he damaged the strike-bolt plate and leave it like that. I hung the call with the "dispatcher-billing lady". I asked my sister to put the technician on the phone, when I heard his voice. Immediately, I felt why my sister feels in danger as she was explaining to me on the phone. and while I was talking with him on phone. I started driving to my sister's place.
He didn't expect me. I was upset at that time because his behavior and the "manager-dispatcher-billing" lady who didn't want to provide her name" and how she treated me in the phone. I can't expect a fair customer service to my sister.
The technician face changed when I arrived; I started asking why too much; here his explanation;
Flat rate $49.00 Door knob $89.00 Replace + B.I $110.00.
He used the tactic "I am getting a discount".
I replied; "You are not" "First, you are charging over what the flat service was supposed and you are taking advantage of this situation".
He blamed and claimed that it was the company who don't let him to change prices. I explained what I was told and he started "changing prices" $49.00 to $29.00, $89 to $60.00 and $110.00 because he can't lose money".
What a shame of family company. He used a tactic about religious and asking if "Do you believe in God?” “Could I trust on you.” He started to blame me on his time. These people manipulate very well the vulnerable situations. He already had made my sister signed the receipt. I assured him; I will pay $70.00 dollars cash and we can pay next day the rest of the money. Because, they were not honest doesn't mean I am like them. I told him that I will review his company. I was disappointed with them. He said "It was not his company". No professional ethics. He replied “If, you don’t pay. I will come and drill the door knob and take it”. What a scared situation.
They charged us $200.00 dollars. Leaving a new door knob with an Old Strike-Latch part damage. We reported the incident with the landlord so they will acknowledge of our experience and who did the "service".
Sunday, my only peaceful day was turned in the most harassed day. I checked my phone late morning and I already had a call and voicemail from Whitney representing Locksmith Connections. She left a mes

We can send our locksmith to fix any damages that may have occurred with a strike plate during your service for free. Any damages that may have occurred outside of the service are not covered under warranty and will include service charges. If you choose his option, please call our office at *** and ask for a call back and explain your situation to the supervisor.

I was in an accident around the time of 2030 ET on 03/15/19 and I was taken to the hospital to find out I had a broken foot. Upon getting home from the hospital (***) around 0130 ET on 03/16/19 I found the keys I was given from EMTs werent the correct keys. I called Locksmith Connections (24 hour service) and gave my address and credit card information. They told me my credit card wouldnt be charged unless someone arrived to my door and also informed me I would be charged an additional fee if they were able to get me inside my apartment, I agreed. I waited at least 2 hours in front of my apartment building, on crutches, for Locksmith Connections to arrive, (while in the cold with a broken foot, other car accident related injuries, and my dogs who were whining/barking).
I ended up calling another locksmith company who sent a tech who came around 0400 ET. Upon his arrival, I verified he was from the second company I called and he verbally confirmed. He tried for over an hour to get me into my apartment, using various different methods. Since he could not get me in, he cancelled the call and didn’t even charge me for coming out to my property. I was outside in the cold from the time of 0130 and finally got into my apartment at 0630 on 03/16.
I never heard back from Locksmith Connections, so I continued to watch my credit card statements to ensure they didn’t charge me. Sure enough today 03/22/19, the charge went through for a service fee from Locksmith Connections. I spoke to 3 different people today at Locksmith Connections, who wouldn’t give me a straight answer. Gary, from this company, finally called me refusing to give me a refund. I explained to him no one ever came to my apartment and I was standing outside of my building with crutches waiting for them to show. He said a tech was out there and no one answered and I informed him only 2 drivers were here that early and both told me they were *** drivers. Gary was VERY rude and wouldnt listen to me or give me a refund. He then hung up on me.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I can confirm that a locksmith drove out to you and tried to contact you several times. If he didn't come to you, we would have not charge you for him going to your location to help you. Our office closes at 3am, that's probably why you couldn't reach us after our locksmith tried calling you several times and drove around looking for you.

Locksmith Connections Response • Apr 24, 2019

A locksmith did drive to you, as promised, but your phone was presumably dead and this is why you waited hours because we could not get to you by phone. Our business is serving others with locksmithing needs. We do have proof but would rather reimburse you and settle this matter for this unfortunate situation for both of us. Please confirm with the Revdex.com that this case is closed and we will write you a check. Please also confirm your address and name to [email protected], to ensure of no mistakes. Please understand we would have rather serviced you, instead of just charge you for a locksmith to come out to your location. We are a locksmith business and not a "fake" company.

I contacted Locksmith Connections to repair/replace the lock on my tenants sliding glass door. The appointment was set up, but they never showed up. My tenant and I called several times to find out why. After getting the runaround and getting several different reasons why, I finally asked for the manager (his name was London). By his attitude over the phone, it was clear that he really didn’t care. After pushing him, he finally said the repair guy wasn’t in the area and he couldn’t fix it anyway so no one would be coming out then hung up on me. Very poor work ethics and bad management.

I personally would like to apologize for your situation. It's never an ideal situation when our locksmith is unable to serve clients because this is our business, but at times, problems can occur. Again, I wish we were able to serve you.

I am rejecting this response because:

I accept the apology, but still would like to know the real reason why no one called to tell us no one was coming and why. My tenant took off work for no reason and with no explanation other than “no one was in the area “ or “it cannot be done”. My husband looked at it and said it absolutely can be done. We live an hour away, that is why I called a locksmith. Very frustrating. I’ve been a customer service manager for 10 years. This is not how you treat customers if you want them to come back. Now I can only speak poorly about your company after this bad experience.

On Friday 02/15/2019, I had no access to my original car keys until the following Monday. There was no urgent need to use my car, but I thought I should take this opportunity to make a spare key. I already had a spare key made with no chip to get me in the car and out, but does not turn the engine on. On the phone I was quoted $29 for the technician to drive up to me, and 119$ for the key and a possibility of additional charges depending on the model of the car.

I called Locksmith Corporations at 11 AM, and they said the technician will call me shortly. The technician called to say they can't make it till 4 PM, which I was fine with and he'd give me %10 discount.

The technician met me inside my car and explained to me what he's going to do (no mention of price at all). Asked me to wait in my car while he went back in his truck to make a key copy, came back to my car then added the key to the system. Later he asked me to meet him in his truck, where he wrote down my receipt with a total of $270 with the 10% discount. I disagreed with him about the price and he told me there is nothing he can do about it, and he can't bring it down further. At this point I had to pay the price, because I did not want to keep the keys with a stranger who can get into my street parked car at any time and steal everything in it. After payment, he gave me his business card and said he could have done this for 1/2 the price if I had called directly.

Immediately after I called Brianna from Locksmith Corporations and I told her how ridiculous the price was, and that I shouldn't be charged that much given my situation that I was not locked out of the car. She lied and told me the keys are from the manufacturer and that's why I was charged $119 for them, which was not true after checking with my dealer.

The following Monday I got in touch with the supervisor who was very rude to me throughout the conversation (recorded) and basically told me if he was in my situation he would have refused the service.

I understand that making a new car key can be pricey but please understand that in oder to make a new car key, the locksmith needs to purchase a code, a pin code, and a key from the manufacturer to be able to make a key. For a *** 2015, you got a discounted price and if another company is claiming to do this for $75, it can't physically be done because of the cost need from the manufacturer to program a key. You can look at our website for a typical price range for this service.

I am rejecting this response because:
I do not agree with this comment. This would make some sense only if I did not have another key for the locksmith to use to duplicate. The key I was given is not by ***, this key was bought from a third party seller and is sold for less than $20. Again, on the phone I was lied to saying that the key is from the manufacturer. To program the key it costs around $80 (high range) to get the pin from the manufacturer. This is a total of $100, but I got charged $270 for this service.

Taking more than 2 months to respond to my complaint is not very professional either. Hope potential customers are able to see this before calling your company for service.

I understand that you do not agree, however, we can not issue a refund based on what you have presented to me. As you can see, we have closed other cases when we have made error, but I see nothing abnormal with the price the locksmith quoted you.

1-28-19 : called 24hr Locksmith Services to get a car key made because I dropped my key out of my pocket. Dispatch sent out a technician who programmed a key for my car. On 1-30, I had to call them back because the key would not open my door or start the car. I called back to advise of my issue and they had me waiting over an hour for someone to come back out. On 2/3, I was not able to get in my car again. Called on 2/4 to speak with a manager and no one would provide a manager to speak with me. I called 3 times and they disconnected the line on me. To date, this key is faulty and I was requesting a refund. I found the address for this business after doing extension research to file this complaint.

Locksmith Connections Response • Feb 08, 2019

I have reviewed your complaint and can comment that the locksmith came to your location twice. The locksmith found nothing wrong with your new key. The locksmith also stated that you have found your original key.

One star is generous, 0 would be the most accurate. The way this company operates is another example of a business using bait and switch tactics. On September 30, 2018, I called because I had locked myself out of my house. I was quoted $15 as a service charge, and told that the charge to open the door was $35 and up. Well, after the two minutes it took for the tech to open the door, he presented me what the AND UP charge of $180, almost 6 times the basic $35 quoted. I was not told in advance that the charge would be $180 plus $15 for the service call. I was stunned and the tech waived the $15 service call charge, which I assume is part of the bait and switch tactic, but still left me with a bill of $180. The tech did NOT change the lock as the CEO implied. He opened the door in TWO minutes. Sadly, like others commented, once the work is done, you have to pay the bill. I have a dispute in process with my credit card company. Fair is fair at this point, I didn’t expect anything for free, but I certainly didn’t expect price gouging and bait and switch tactics. And, I’m no different than anyone else that has been scammed, but $180 puts big dent in the budget of a senior.

I locked my keys in my car at a gas pump on October 31st 2018 and I called the first locksmith that popped up on my phone to come get my keys out. Which was the locksmith connections when I called the company the lady that answered told me it would be 70$. I said okay send them out. Then a guy called me back and told me he would be there in 30 min. They took 45 min to show up not in a company car or anything representing the company. When the finally showed up it only took him 2 min to unlock my car and then he told me that would be 250$ I already unlocked my door so I had to pay. They foundry explain to me why it was 250$ at the time just told me that was the price. So I paid 250 when it should of been just 70$

Locksmith Connections Response • Nov 16, 2018

I have reviewed your complaint and reviewed our recordings. When I reviewed the recording from the dispatcher, they stated that the service fee was $29 and that service starts at $35 and up to open a door. A quote of $70 was never offered. In your complaint, you mentioned that the technician never quoted you a price prior to opening the door. Since there was a miscommunication with the locksmith, we would like to honor you about 25% off of your quoted price, a reimbursement of $63. We apologize for the miscommunication. If you agree to this, please confirm with the Revdex.com that the case is resolved and we will send you a check for the amount. If you have any questions, please contact me at locksmithconnections@***.com.

My 2 daughters and myself came home around 2 pm 11/3/18 to find ourselves locked out. I was told it would be about 25 minutes by the technician. I had already been waiting at least 30 minutes. 40 more minutes go by and I call the company (). They apologized and said they would call tech to get ETA. Tech calls me()and has to look at his GPS and says, "oh another 20 minutes". I called company back and said, "I thought this was a local service"? A total of an hour and a half go by, in the cold with 2 small children, sitting in a car. The man "John" arrives. He was extremely difficult to understand as English did not appear to be his primary language. I asked him to please look at all locks and to choose the cheapest one to get into as I had 3 doors he could have used to gain entry into the house. He, in my opinion, chose the most expensive door, "oh this is a high security door", we need to use this one. I disagreed with him but he didn't listen. After no more than 5 minutes (he appeared he didn't know what he was doing), he said he is going to have to break the lock. This took about 15 minutes as he struggled to do this. I asked him what I'm supposed to do now that he broke my lock. He said he would put a new one on. I should point out that the price from the "company" and the tech over the phone was $29.00 service fee and $35.00+ for lock entry/repair. He NEVER told me another price prior to doing the repairs and in no way did 35+ equate to $449.00. Not until work was done, did he show me a bill for $449.00! I of course cried as it has been 2 hours of being unable to feed my child, being out in the cold with 2 children, and now getting an outrageous bill I never would have agreed to. Yes, I agreed to pay him because at this point, this man is in my home, I'm alone with an 11 mth old in my arms and 6 year old by my side, what do you expect me to do? I was not going to say no and put myself and my daughters at risk? Christina, supervisor, laughed at me for this.

I have reviewed your complaint and understood that the locksmith already offered to give you a refund of $150 after the fact a police officer was involved. The offer was to better help your situation, however, you declined to accept any offer. You stated that you are only willing to accept a full refund of free service. Our locksmith performed a service, one which you agreed upon, and we cannot offer a full refund based on the reasons you indicated in your complaint.

This business told us over the phone that they charged $29 flat fee and then $35 to unlock the vehicle. We told them our location and they sent out a technician. The technician arrived and unlocked the vehicle in 1 minute. My daughter who is a minor was the person at the vehicle when the technician unlocked the vehicle. He then told her that the fee was $179. Our complaint is that they told us a much lower price over the phone and then charged over twice that amount after the job was done. I called the Locksmith company to complain and they said that because she had already signed the invoice that that proved she agreed to the charges. It's unfair to quote a price over the phone and then demand more than double after the service has been performed.

Locksmith Connections Response • Nov 14, 2018

I have reviewed your complaint. I would like for you to understand that our dispatch, who are not licensed locksmiths, are not legally able to give quotes over the phone. Dispatch are only allowed to give the cost for a locksmith to come to you and a starting rate but never a quote to perform the service. Once the locksmith reviews your situation, he/she will give you a quote to perform the service and it is at that time a customer can agree or disagree a service. Since you or your daughter have agreed for the service for a locksmith to unlock her door, we cannot issue a refund for the work they have performed. We apologize for any confusion and hope you understand that our dispatch are not legally allowed to give rates.

Liars and cheats...do not under any circumstance use this company. My key broke off in my door, and I called a local number thinking if was a vendor in my neighborhood. This is a call center and the offices are located somewhere else. I asked the locked to just remove the broken key from the lock and he said he couldn't (I found out afterward they have a tool that can extract the key) and the guy drilled a hole in the lock without even trying to get the key out. I asked him how much and he didn't tell him until the very end. I told him I have the same key for all of my locks and he said don't worry, and then took the dead bolt and the regular lock of my door. He put some crappy locks on my door that do fit, and I'm going to have to pay another locksmith to repair the damage. I keep asking the price and all he keep saying is I'll give you a good deal. the is no name on the receipt, which I think is intentionally done, so you cant track then down. (661) 622-4976 is the number listed on the add... but (747)-256-9210 is the number of the installer. This guys charged me 610.00 for something that should have been a minor procedure. This is a bait an switch company. I called the company the next day to question the prices and the locksmith that installed the cheap locks threatened me and told me not to call the company. I have call the local number everyday and they have not called me back and in fact hung up on me today. This is a scam business. Under no circumstance should you give them your business. The Revdex.com should shut the down... they are beyond unethical.

I contacted this business to come to my home to fix my front door and screen door locks. The serviceman came and quote me a price of fixing the doors locks. The verbal agreement was for him to replace the pins in the cyder for the front door and change the complete lock on the screen door for $400.00. The first mistake that was made was the serviceman went and brought the wrong lock for the screen door. He brought a lock for a left handed door instead of a right handed door. The lock was slightly bigger than the original lock therefore for him to accommodate the problem he place additional holes in the door to accommodate the lock. He made the hole in the frame bigger to accommodate the lock in order for it to fit into the hole. Once he place the lock on and lock the door the lock got stuck and he got so frustrated that he broke the key off in the lock. He gave up trying to get the broken key out of the lock. I call the company and they told me they would send someone else to fix the problem. The second person came and got the broken lock out of the door and replace it with the old lock. He stated he would order a new lock and come back and install it. He called his manager or boss to advise him of the status of the situation. After the phone call with his boss he told me that he would not order a new lock and that I will have to pay him for the work he had done. I asked him why are they not honoring the original agreement and that was to fix both locks. He would not give me a answer. He told me I owed $180.00. The problem I have is now the screen door don't stay shut because the hole in the frame is to big for the original lock to hold it into place. The metal piece that support the hole in the frame is now missing. Now it going to cost me more money to correct their mistake. If I now have to change the door frame to secure the lock. I feel he broke the agreement and charge me for there mistake.

We have arranged with you to fix the new lock, after you have purchased the lock. Please contact us at locksmithconnections@ ***.com. We are waiting for your response.

I called Locksmith Connections for assistance with an emergency lockout at my place of residence. I placed my faith in the honesty of the technician they sent. I later discovered he charged me twice the flat service fee trip charge published on the company website. In addition to that, he added more cost because it was an "emergency." Once he could not open the door, he indicated that he could remove the lock (an ordinary door lock) for an additional fee--$250 (a price significantly over the rates published on the company website). After removing the lock, he offered to install a new lock--for $300! It began to dawn on me that these prices were rather exorbitant. After I demurred, he insisted he could call his boss and get the price down because he didn't want to leave me with a lockless door. He came back with a lock which he installed for $199--which I soon discovered was way over the standard fee. By the end of this service, I had been charged over $500. Moreover, the lock was so poor quality that my landlord was unable to fit another a duplicate key which meant he had to replace the lock that had just been installed. When I called Locksmith Connections about this, they said they could not address the problem since they had not been called back to inspect the lock before it had been replaced. A week later I contacted Locksmith Connections and spoke with a manager. I asked why the removal or installation of a common door lock would merit prices that greatly exceed the rates advertised. He could not give me a satisfactory answer. I was foolish to pay the prices charged--but I was in a stressful situation (and accustomed to dealing with honest business people). A company that allows its technicians to take advantage of customers in tough situations by charging three times the standard price without providing rationale for the cost (and selling cheap replacement locks to boot) is a company that creates an incentive for dishonest behavior in its employees--and erodes the company's reputation.

I called the Locksmith Connection services after being locked out of my home. After quoting me a $15 flat rate on the phone with a starting fee of $35. The locksmith arrived and informed me he needed to use a “bump” and quoted me $210. Once the technician forced a “master key” in the lock, he realized it was a double lock. While acknowledging his mistake, he charged me an extra $80 for the second lock. This is robbery! You’d do better to break down the door or to break a window. DO JOT USE THIS SEVICE! They prey on those who are desperate and charge exorbitant rates.

Locksmith Connections Response • Oct 25, 2018

To my understanding, the locksmith gave you a quote of 210 without realizing that the door had a double lock. After realizing this, he corrected himself and gave you a quote of 290. A refund of 215 is not a reasonable price as it does not fit in our price range as indicated online. The technician performed two services. First, he unlock the door. Second, he changed the double lock.

I locked myself out of my house on the morning of Sunday, September 30, 2018. I called Locksmith Connection and was quoted a $15 Service call fee and a locksmith charge starting at $35. When the technician arrived, he was able to open the door in approximately two minutes and proceeded to tell me that the charge would be $195. $15 for the service call and $180 to unlock the door. I was stunned and asked the technician and he said $35 is for a basic service. I asked about a senior citizen discount and he said there was none, but he waived the $15 service charge. I believe that he should have told me what it was going to cost before he proceeded to unlock the door, which he did not do. He informed me after the job was done. At that point I had no option but to pay for the service. I did, however, call the original and spoke to two incredibly rude individuals, Michelle, and then her Supervisor, Whitney. They both insisted there was nothing that could be done after the fact. Clearly, there is always something that can be done and while I am willing to pay a reasonable charge, I feel that I am rightfully entitled to some sort of credit since I was not advised of the charge in advance of service.

We would like to reimburse you half the cost since the locksmith failed to give you a quote up front. Please respond to the Revdex.com that this case is resolved and agreed upon then we will mail you a check or issue refund on credit card.

Locksmith Connections Response • Oct 22, 2018

Okay. I have not yet received notification of the dispute from your credit card company but will settle with that amount through the credit card company.

When I called to get quotes for someone to come and change the lock and add a deadbolt to the door the person on the phone quoted me a $15 service fee, and then said it would be between $29-$50 to come out and do that. I mentioned I was not at the house and had to get over there, so gave them the address. Nothing odd yet. The person on the phone then said ok the technician is on the way, BEFORE I agreed to have them come. I told them I didn't want to pay a fee if I didn't choose to use their services. The guy on the phone said that was ok.

I get to the home after leaving my office and the guy David quoted me $150. I was like whoa, thats over $100 more than what I was quoted. A deadbolt is a deadbolt no matter what door its on, so that shouldn't be that much higher. Then, he mentioned the fee that I was told would be waived NEEDED to be paid. At that point I called back and got a young lady on the phone. She was rather irritated with me; I was trying to be super patient at this point. Her response was "I don't know sir, and then she hung up on me". I was appalled. The guy David said "Did you just sell thus home". I replied with a yes. He said "well the you should have money to pay me". Again, I was surprised by their lack of customer service. Unprofessional and deceiving all the way through. I looked online and I saw I was not the only person dealing with this. Hopefully you guys do something or this awfully ran business will continue to deceive people and scam for a their wages. I ended up negotiating for $100 since it was about 99 degrees out and I was standing there in a house with no A/C

I understand that you are trying once again to negotiate to a price that you feel is fair based on no substantial reasons. Locksmith Connections has found you a locksmith who performed you a service to a price that you had negotiated and agreed upon, therefore we do not find any reason for a refund based on this complaint.

Locksmith Connections is a very shady operation. As the 1st to pop up on google search I called them when in need. I asked for 2 things that would help me make a decision: price and time until the locksmith arrived. They told me it would be about 20-35 minutes until the locksmith arrived at the location I told them and that it would be a $15 service fee plus $35 to open the vehicle ($50 total). It could be a little more if it were an advanced anti-breaking in system. My vehicle was made in 2005 and it took about 2 minutes to open it. Unfortunately they came over 2 hrs later as I waited in the cold with no cell service (I had to get dropped off at my vehicle. There was no cell service there) and I was actually charged $250 on my card by the locksmith. These people's shady operation needs to be shut down. Companies need to be held accountable for verbal quotes! Do not trust these people. Do not use their services! I've tried to call them many times. They put me on hold until I'm automatically kicked off the call.

Date: Wed, Nov 7, 2018 at 1:43 PMSubject: Re: *** Complaint (***)To: *** <***@myRevdex.com.org>I have reviewed your complaint. First, Locksmith Connections cannot give quotes over the phone. A dispatcher is not certified or licensed to issue quotes but a technician is able to give quotes after reviewing your situation at site. I am in need for more information regarding your case. Do you have a sign receipt of the price for the service? It is unclear to me what the technician charged you for the service. You can send this information to locksmithconnection@***.com.

Was quoted that the cost would be $15 for the locksmith to come out and $35 and above to unlock the car. The locksmith came and the total price was $80 he said he doesn’t make the prices that I would have to call the company. I then asked him does this happen often he says yes customers always have these problems and call back but nothing is done. So I got home called the locksmith service number and explained the man in charge of the company the situation. He said that the $35 was the starting price so I asked him to tell me what are the requirements for the starting price he couldn’t he was very rude talking over me so I asked to speak with someone above him he as quoted said “This isn’t ***’s we don’t have a corporate” , he then went on to say that a typical price for my car would be $55 and that I was acting cheap about the $20 difference. Very unprofessional I do not recommend this company and I told him I would be sharing my bad experience online he said that he would reply with a recorded conversation but I was not told I was being recorded when I got transferred to his phone line.

ID: ***To: ***, I understand that you would like a refund of $20 for the service that you have received, however, based on your complaint I do not find cause to adjust your billing. Locksmith Connections Response • Aug 29, 2018

D ***TO: ***, I have read your complaint and reviewed my records. On record, you paid $15 for a service fee for the locksmith to come to you to give you a quote. Our locksmith needed a code to make your key and paid $65 for that code. He tried to program the key but found that he could not because there was a manufactory error. He did not pop out the ignition and did not drill into mobilizer. There is no reason to do that. You called us back, two days later, and the locksmith did not come back to you because he could not help you with your problem. Sincerely, Avraham A
