Locksmith Connections Reviews (%countItem)

Today (30 July 2018) my wife and I called this company to get a price quote for unlocking the door on our Minivan after she locked the keys inside. We were told $15 for the service call (for sending somebody out) and "$35 and up" (for the unlocking itself). The last part made us think, reasonably, that such a simple, routine job ought to be in the ballpark of $50. Otherwise, why in the world would they give those numbers? The "technician," who arrived an hour later than we were told he'd come, was extremely rude, insisting that the $130 he wanted to charge us was legitimate. I walked away from the scene because, as I said to my wife, I'd rather take a taxi home and get our extra car key than let this person touch our vehicle. But my wife was stressed out and in a hurry, so, after talking the guy down to $100, she paid him with a debit card. The "receipt" he texted her gave no business name. After returning home I called the number on the receipt and asked for the company name. The person who answered was the same "technician" my wife had paid. He kept asking me why I wanted to know and I kept responding that, in the first place, I wanted to know exactly what company it was that we had just paid $100 to (because, you know, it's generally a good thing to know who's going to be taking money out of your bank account) as well as the fact that I had some follow up questions about the amount my wife had been misled into paying. The "technician" ended the call by saying, and I quote "I'll tell you the name of the company: it's suck a big long dk." Talking to LC was no help either. The guy on the phone kept insisting to me, in an overly aggressive and rude manner, that we paid a fair price and have nothing to complain about. The he ruined his own argument by saying that the average price people pay for unlocked cars is $150. Notice the gross manipulation? Instead of telling callers that, on average, people in their position must pay around $150, they say "$35 and up" giving people the impression that it's not going to cost them a small fortune for the 60-90 seconds it takes to get their car unlocked. His reaction when I told him about the "technician's" telephone comment? Complete unconcern. Wasn't us, he said, as if LC's business relationship with such a person is unproblematic. What a sleazy business. I recommend avoiding any dealings with them if at all possible. I'd give LC less than one star if it were allowed.

I will never work with this company again. I was told a different price every time I called and by the time the Lock Smith got there it was way more. Once the locksmith finally got to my house and the price was arranged he said he would have no problem to set up my key. Well the car was sitting for a while so we had to charge the battery the locksmith put a charger on the car but it wasn’t enough juice so we hooked it up to the car and still there wasn’t enough juice so the man without knowing said our computer was messed up in our car and that we would have to take it to a dealership and have to pay about 1000 to fix it. So we didn’t get a key that was programed he made the key and from what I was told on my 5 or more phone calls if it didn’t work I would have to pay only 15 dollars well it turns out he made the key and he was charging us for that even though the car didn’t work. As my husband tried to explain what was told to us via our phone calls this man started yelling at my husband outside our house at 9:15 in the evening in front of our neighbors , stating that we needed to pay for the key and that we were playing games. Now we were further trying to get clarification about what was going on and he starting taking off his ear pieces and other items as though he was going to fight my Husband. (This happening in front of my neighbors) He kept punching his hands stating I am no kid I don’t f’ing care (with a few choice words I will leave out) and kept punching his fist into his hand, and walking toward my husband about to assault him. My husband gave him the money because at this point this man had some sort of anger issues. To add insult to injury I call this company and they told me they would have a manger call me right back over a half an hour later I called them back. The associate that was a supervisor was acting as though she didn’t care. I had to ask her if she was a supervisor I had to ask her if she was aware of my issues she was not even speaking which only made things worse. When she finally spoke she was saying oh we made a key we paid for that and she was snapping at me and she told me….Then she tried to act as though I was lying about the episode that accrued in my home. I got upset and the rudeness of the employee and the failer to have empathy and respect for a customer got worse. I asked the supervisor if I should of called the police because they would of done more with this man that tried to assault my husband a man that represents your company She went ahead and acted as though it was a nuisance to even talk to me. She told me she would sent me a receipt because the Locksmith left without giving us one. Well I got a receipt with just the amount I was charged no description of the work after I called them 3 times for the receipt. I had to call them back and request an itemized receipt and they were rude in getting me the information just trying to get me off the phone. It took them over an hour and a ½ to send me a receipt with the information that looked as though they made it up to match the money the locksmith took. I am so disgusted with this service I can only imagine being a single woman and having to deal with someone like this. This company did not stand by their promise and they have lazy and dangerous people working for them.

I wish I would have seen these review before I called this company. They are the first ones to pop up on the google search, that should be corrected. I dropped my keys in the car seat, not realizing it until after I pumped gas at 5 in the afternoon. I was quoted $15.00 service fee and $35.00 to unlock the car. While the guy is putting the balloons in place to open the door he tells me its 165.00!!!!! I had been waiting for two hours already. What a bait and switch.

Just like what everyone else was saying....Bad a rip off!
Do not use this company. First when the tech was finished he said $ 159.
I said I don’t have that kind of money. Then he said ok $ 115 . I said I was quoted around $ 50. He said then $ 100.00 it will be $100. So I paid him in cash ( thank goodness I didn’t use my debit card I believe It would have been used else where just like someone else said. The next day I looked at my reciept it said $50.00. Wow a con / a get over on you kind of company! STAY AWAY FROM IT! There are too many bad reviews to think differently! Take heed” YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! “ Oh and I contacted the company and was told a supervisor would call me back. I never got that call. This was the one in Towson ( 410) 807-8149 )

First of all it took them 45 minutes to get to my house and once the gentleman arrived he drilled my lock to open the door and he broke the lock which was not necessary. Once I got into the house and I wanted to pay him and gave him the credit card he ran the card and said it was denied twice. Therefore, I gave him another credit card and the second card was also denied. Then I told him something must have been wrong with his phone and then he called someone explained the situation and gave my credit card information over the phone and he said the card went through. So fast forward a month later I was charged on both credit cards basically double charged. I called the company they asked for a copy of the statement showing proof I was charged twice but they refuse to credit me for the extra charge. The invoice shows $160 however, I was charged a total of $320. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM and I feel they took advantage of me and that all of my cards were fine.

Thank you for notifying me of the accidental double transaction that had occurred. We are correcting the issue and you will probably see the correction within five business days. Please confirm that we have resolved this issue. Thank you.

If I could give a less than 1 star review I would. This company is a scam. Never ever use Locksmith Connections. They quoted me a price and then sent someone to my house to unlock my car and he then quoted me TRIPLE the price. When I refused, he physically threatened me and I told him to get off my property and then he threatened to pull a gun on me, saying "Im ex-army, you have no idea what I have in my car!" Then he drove across my yard peeling out, as he left. The police have been called. He drives a minivan with the plates MaxUSA.

Terrible Terrible terrible company "you a super low price and then when they get out there to you the price triples Scam scam scam scam alert

The worst extremely unprofessional.. Scheduled to have locks re-keyed. Technician called the day of the appointment, past the time he was supposed to arrive, and advised he was running late (other job taking longer) and would be there by 3:30pm (original appointment time was between 1 and 2). The next time I heard from him was 4:30pm saying he was done with his job and would be at my home in 40 minutes. I told him unacceptable and made an appointment for Sunday (7/1) at 10:00am. He never showed and didn't call and when I called the number he called from it went right to voice mail. I called the office 7/2 to complain told them I lost confidence in their service. I was transferred to a supervisor who was still trying to make the sale and told him I was going to another company and he asked why did I call and I said to make a complaint to which he replied complaint noted and hung up. It should be noted that the supervisor said they called me several time on 7/1 at around 3:00pm to which I responded - I did pick up a call around that time but the other party hung up. He also said they called my home number (which I was not at because I was waiting for their tech) and my home number was listed as a secondary contact not a primary. Additionally, the supervisor's tone was nasty once he found out I had an issue and was disputing what his records say. I would shop around before calling these people.

I called *** about a billing mistake. My intention was to alert a superior of the deceitful business practices of their technician, but instead I was met with hostility by the supervisor named Garret C (was the name given) who works 5/22 @ 3:55pm.I had my intelligence insulted, my hearing ridiculed (I am hard of hearing from an accident), and I was mocked when I said I would file a complaint. He dismissed my original complaint responding with sorry there’s nothing I can do (I didn’t ask for anything). I insisted that his technicians actions were wrong and he became so aggressive over the phone I began to physically shake. He shouted over me intentionally not allowing me to get a single word in, and when I asked for his name he said garret. I asked for his last name and he hung the phone up. I called back and reached a different associate. I asked to speak to garret again and then I can hear garret snatch the phone and he begins to shout again saying it’s not their fault I was too incompetent to read the invoice which I was trying to explain was illegible (I will willingly provide this invoice upon request). I had let him know I am hard of hearing and rely on visual notes and he continued to taunt me saying I should have heard the amount over the phone. I continuously asked for his last name as he was shouting until he finally began shouting and repeating his name “C*** C C” not allowing me to say anything clearly the entire second phone call. I let him know after I got his name I would file a complaint and that is when he began mocking me saying no one would do anything about it (he obviously thought I was still talking about the receipt). He continued shouting saying he didn’t care and I could give whoever I complain to his number nothing would happen and then abruptly hung up on me a second time when I asked for another superior.I have lost sleep over this incident and I am stunned that anyone like this can reach a lead position anywhere.

Thank you for reaching us with your concerns about a technician. I have read your complaint and understand that you were unsatisfied on how your concerns were handled with a supervisor. I have personally spoken to the supervisor and discussed how he should have handled the situation. Also, I have looked at your receipt and do not understand or see that a technician was being deceitful.

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not care about the receipt or the money. That is not the issue at hand that is just what set these events into motion. I am unsatisfied with the action taken because it is deporable that a company would continue to employ someone with that kind of disregard and lack of decency. It is obvious by his arrogance that he knew nothing would happen to him for his rude and blatantly mean behavior and all this has done is confirm what the supervisor in question told me over the phone, that my complaints would be pointless. As a business, you should be ashamed, and as a person, you should be embarassed that this behavior is allowed in your company. I am rejecting this response because is does not demonstate in any way that any changes will be brought to your business, but absolutely do not wish to continue further with this complaint as you have proven to be a waste of time and business. I will be sure to tell anyone I can not to have any services performed by your business.

These people are the worst. I was told that they're price for a key was a minimum of $165, which is way too much for a key as it is, but they said a guy would come over to give a more accurate quote. I left him to do his calculations and he comes back with the keys in hand demanding $485. for two keys (which I did ask for). They never gave me the quote before he started working. I asked why they costed so much, considering the service fee was only $20. He said that the materials are what costed so much. This is a lie. I looked online and found the exact key I needed for $25. Remember, the cost of service was only $20, so that means they are gouging the price of materials to fool you. These people are sm, buy a key online, program it yourself and go to someplace like ACE Hardware to get it cut. Much cheaper, much more reasonable and much, MUCH more honest.

Son locked his keys in his car with engine running. Called Locksmith connections who stated, "$15 service fee plus 50$ minimum to get car unlocked". Man came in 50 minutes, gave us an estimate of
$15 service fee + $180 labor...since car had been running an hour already, we didn't have a choice. I did, however, call and speak to a manager immediately after paying, asking about the price. He said, "it's based on the technicians assessment." I asked what his assessment was based on and he said, "the technicians experience." That was the only answer I got. I asked "but there should be a standard grid this price is based off of..." never gave me an answer. I guess I shouldn't have paid for the service, but had our backs up against a wall. Would never recommend this company as it seems they can just quote a random price based on nothing but what they want to charge at the time.

I understand that you would like a full refund for a car key that was made and service that was performed. We can not give free car keys and services performed by a professional locksmith. It was a little difficult to read and understand your complaint to find a problem that issues a full refund.

Do Not use this company at all!!!! They are not honest and use deceptive methods. She quoted me one price of $35 dollars plus $15 dollars service call and when they arrived they pop the lock and then charged my son $204.00 dollars. When I called to complain to the manager his reply was we charge by how complex the job is and how much time it takes. My son said it took him less than 5 minutes to pop open the car lock. They are robbers and should be shut down!

Do not use this company! I'm a high school student who's door got blown closed and my keys got locked in my car. I called them a received a quote for $15 for a guy to come to me and an additional $30-40 for the service of unlocking my car, which I was okay with because I could afford the $65 at most for that. The lady I was on the phone with told me it wouldn't take the guy more than 30 minutes to get to me. I waited 2 HOURS for him to come and on the phone when he called me for directions he was so rude and didn't even listen to my directions anyways. I'm a high school student, I cant afford to be waiting for 2 hours for a locksmith to come unlock my car, I have classes i'm missing! The guy came and told me it would be $140 to unlock my car, not anywhere close to the quote. I cried, because i've missed 2 of my classes already and then he was trying to force me to pay the $140, I was able to talk him down since he was so late and the my quote was anything near that price.

this company is terrible. They use various locksmiths and they do not stand behind the work of the people they send out. This is a marketing firm that has no value to the consumer. You can find more reputable companies to do business with by using the internet and or a local phone book. I was treated poorly by this company and several people told me they would call me back and they did not ever return phone calls.

HORRIBLE costumer service
Very unprofessional
They LIE ABOUT PRICING because they know you need to get into your house/car. Never again!

This locksmith company did a service call on 4/8/18 to open my closed garage and after they got my garage open, they damaged my garage door frame. The locksmith promised twice that there would be “no damage at all” to my garage. The damage was not discovered until after the locksmith left and I paid him over $500 for this service.

The customer service at HQ’s & locally in regards to this issue has been ridiculous.

After having to deal with multiple customer services people & managers at HQ and locally for one week, they refused to take responsibility for this garage door damage THEY DID. The did offer that the would send a garage door specialist to fix it, but they wanted me to pay for it! Then the local locksmith manager offered that he would cut my bill in half only if I fixed it myself & HQ first said the would refund me $100 off my bill then offered me a $200 refund or they would send a garage door specialist out but I would have to pay for that service and I would receive no refund at all.

Terrible customer service!!!!!

This company has resolved this complaint pretty fairly with a reasonable refund. Please drop this complaint.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! SCAM ARTISTS! QUOTED ME A PRICE OVER THE PHONE, CAME TO MY DOOR AND TOLD ME THE PRICE - WHICH WAS DOUBLE FROM THE FIRST PRICE. TECH HAD 2 RECEIPT BOOKS - I THINK ONE FOR HIM AND ONE FOR THE COMPANY. SCAM ARTISTS! THEY DID NOT CARE ABOUT MY HANDICAPPED SISTER IN LAW SITTING ON THE PORCH WHO WAS UNABLE TO GET INTO HER HOUSE. ALL THEY WANTED WAS MONEY, MORE AND MORE MONEY. KEPT US WAITING FOR OVER AN HOUR FOR A TWO MINUTE DRILL INTO THE LOCK. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND WAS MET WITH A VERY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL WOMAN WHO WOULD NOT LISTEN AND ONLY WANTED TO SPEAK OVER ME (I AM A SENIOR CITIZEN). NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY! do not use these people!

My mother was locked out of her car at the Harris Teeter in Rivertowne in Mt. Pleasant, SC. She called for service from the store at 2;50pm. She was told a technician would arrive in 20-25 minutes. She called back at 3:15, and was told that they had not sent a technician because no one answered the phone st the store. At 4:30 I arrived at the store from work. They had still not sent a technician. They gave me his number and he did not answer and the voicemail could not accept messages. I Employees were incredibly rude. Eventually I called another locksmith to inquire about service and before I booked, I called Locksmith connections to see what their eta was. She said she wasn’t sending someone because I called another company. DO NOT use this horrible company.

We contacted Locksmith Connections and they gave my wife the price of $15 to call the locksmith and $35 for the tech to look at the lock. They said the tech would give the final price. After the job was done, the tech charged my wife $394.00 to open a very ordinary front door lock bought from ***. No alarm. The tech took advantage of the situation. My wife asked for the final price and just verbally let him do the job, but she did not sign anything allowing him to do the job. She's *** and she needed to take her *** that's why she was desperate to get inside the house. I called the *** number to verify the price and they told me that they cannot do anything if my wife signed the job card, which she didn't. Also when I called, the supervisor was really rude and kept talking over me and wouldn't give her name and the tech's name. He spent less than 20 minutes to do the job and we think it's WAY over the top. The tech was price gouging and should not be allowed to continue doing business.
