Review: On June 17 Mad City baths started to install a walk-in tub for my partially disabled husband. After the job was completed on 6/19 we realized the tub was 29" wide inside & the seat is 15" high (not disabled height). It does not fit the "foot print" of the floor as promised. The total area is 7" shorter & 7-8" narrower than our previous shower. Now the flooring is too short as are the baseboards on both walls. Yes, there is a shower head but I am a shorter, smaller person & it is way too tight to shower comfortably.I started to contact the company with my concerns on 6/22/15. There seems to be only one person that will call & he is not familiar with the tub or if there are other sizes. He said there has only been "one other person" with this complaint. His second call informed me that the "boss" said there isn't much they can do & if they do anything it will cost more. I have already been over charged on their product. I would like this business to realize walk-in tubs tend to help older, less stable people to bathe & with this tub my husband can potentially get injured by falling trying to get into or out of it. He has trouble getting off of low chairs so he will have lots of trouble getting up out of this beast.Desired Settlement: I would like the business to have the courtesy to call the customer & try to resolve this issue. If they do not have a bigger tub then replace my shower.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

We are very happy with our windows. The only thing we would recommend is that they would go over the way they trim the inside of the windows, because the trim they used on our windows is way too thick and takes up about half of our window sill. Otherwise we are very happy with how they turned out, and the crew that came was very resepctful.

did a good job. everybody worked well together. finished job: 10

Salesman was very friendly and knowledgeable during the initial visit and sales pitch. Very thorough with the information and answering questions - even on a Friday evening. Installation was quick and well done. My wife was unsure about some items and the job foreman was happy to speak with me over the phone to discuss. Jobsite was cleaned up well and you would not have known any work had occurred here. Regarding the product - the windows, sliding patio door and front house door are all high quality and we've already noticed less drafts in the house. Overall, our experience with Mad City Windows, both service and product, was very positive.

I had a great experience with Mad City. They just did a new window for the front of our house and I was really impressed with the salesman that first came out and the two installers, Tim, and Phillip that came and did the installation. They were courteous, friendly, quick, did a great clean-up, and left everything in great shape. The window is great and looks awesome. They gave me the warranty info, and some other documents that I will need, and they left. It was a smooth experience and I appreciate that very much. I've also dealt with the office staff, Morgan and Kristin and they were very professional and friendly, and helpful.

I had a excellant experience when they came out to remodel my bathroom this week. The workers they sent were nice and polite and answered all my questions. They showed me the step by step that they were doing and asked if I had any questions or issues with the process so far and I really appreciated that. I have used Mad City before for another project and I will use them again. I have another bathroom to do and I will request the same workers when I get that done. They clean up after themselves so my house was left as they found it and they were very good in there detail work. I will recommend them to anyone who is having similar work done.

We were very pleased with Mad City Windows. Plan on about 3 hours when the salesman comes to give you a quote, but we were pleased to learn about the high quality of their windows. The installers were courteous and cleaned up after their work. The installers even fixed work done incorrectly on windows we got replaced last year with a different company. We highly recommend using Mad City if you need your windows replaced.

Review: The nature of the complaint actually falls under most of the above categories. On 8/12/13 I financed 2 sliding windows from Mad City. They were to be installed 9/17 around 1-1:30. I took the afternoon off from work. I received a call at 1:50pm they were running late & would arrive shortly. Workers finally arrived around 3:30pm. One window was installed without a full screen, both with no security locks for when windows open (were sold to me that they came with these), I was unable to open windows easily as they were not installed correctly. The inside quality of work was awful as they used 1/4 round that was too large and didn't match woodwork (I had no idea they were even using this) & weather stripping seal on one window was peeling off. At installation I asked the installer why and he basically blew me off, told me I could stain the 1/4 round & rushed me through paperwork so he could leave. Since that day, I have had to contact Mad City numerous times regarding the many issues. With MY following up with them & pushing THEM to get items corrected, most have finally been resolved without any apologies and I have felt from them that it was an inconvenience to complete the job correctly. 10/1/13 was the last time Mad City came out to correct some of the problems. The installer took pic of the window needing replacing and I was told they would call when it came in. TWO MONTHS LATER I received a call that the window was in. I asked that [redacted] call me back & received no response. It is now February and I am still waiting for my one window to be replaced along with the full screen for it. It seems that once Mad City made the shotty sale, it was a push to get the product installed, get their money and then forget about about the customer and correcting the problems. I have never felt so taken advantage of and have never had this kind of terrible customer service from any other company. I have a timeline of dates with more details I would like to submit but I don't see where I can attach it. Also, in December 2013 I filed a grievance with the financing company.Desired Settlement: I would like the window to be replaced and installed correctly with the security locks, reimbursement for the months of not having a quality window, time it has taken me to try and get this resolved, including my time off work. I have never received such bad services from any other company and feel Mad City needs to also take accountability for their products, services and to actually care about their customers.

Response:

We have heard [redacted]'s concerns and we are truly sorry for failing to meet her expectations. We are working really hard to resolve any outstanding issues. We will also be discussing some sort of compensation for her loss of work and failing to meet her expectations. [redacted] met with [redacted] last night and we are set for service this Saturday. So hopefully we'll have everything resolved soon.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

[redacted] from Mad City did come to my house last night (2/18) to review what was needed to be done to resolve the issue with the incomplete work of the windows and we have set up an appt for 10am on the 22nd for them to install new window, full screen and locks. Someone else outside of Mad City (but works with them) will call me to take care of the staining of the woodwork at a different time/date. [redacted] is meeting with the other [redacted] in regards to the compensation piece of the complaint. Until this is completely taken care of I am not comfortable accepting the response YET but am hopeful this will be completely resolved soon.

Thank you,

Another update - Mad City has refunded a portion of my bill to me. As noted in my response today, I am waiting for the installation of the new window and will set up appt with [redacted]. Thank you!

I called Mad City Roofing for an estimate for a steel roof. The salesman came and did the estimate. When he was done he asked us to guess how much the estimate was. We guessed $15,000.00~~he said "what part of the roof do you want done for $15,000.00"? His estimate was $48,000.00!!! I have a 28' X 68' double wide mobile home and he wanted almost as much for the roof as I originally paid for the whole house. I just wanted a steel roof and not the steel roof that looked like shingles.
They kept calling me for days afterward and eventually dropped the price $20,000.00 down to $28,000.00 and kept the pressure on trying to get me to accept it. I would not.
I got my steel roof put on from another company for a total cost of $5,400.00.
Whenever I go into Wal Mart these Mad City people are right there grabbing at anyone that comes in the store. I'm surprised Wal Mart allows this~~let them have their little rental space in the store but don't allow them to badger everyone that comes in.
BTW~~I never got my promised visa card for my in home estimate either.

We are very pleased with the service! They cleaned as they went and have a beautiful window when they were done!

GREAT windows! The installation crew was efficient and friendly. Everything was cleaned up following completion of the work. Had a couple of minor problems from factory but the problems were resolved quickly and without question. I would do business with them again without hesitation.
Thanks Mad City!

Though we had to wait a little longer than 6 weeks to get started.....they were on time, they were courteous, the crew demonstrated knowledge and skill and we were very happy with the job overall. The crew did a good job cleaning up and they worked well together.
