Mad City Sales Reviews (82)

Review: They sold me a car with a branded title. Did not inform me or my bank of this. I went to have a meeting with one of the managers [redacted]. He asked me a few questions then proceeded to threaten to call police and make me leave the premises when I asked him to speak with one of the bank managers. So my bank sent me here with the thought that I could speak with someone about this.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to buy back the car or we can come to some other solution. This is my first time experiencing something like this with a business that's why i'm not so sure.

Response:

Dear Ms.[redacted], my name is [redacted] and I am the General Sales Manager of Mad City Sales Inc. I have reviewed your complaint with the Revdex.com. I have also reviewed all the documents we have on file from the date of sale. I'd like to start out by apologizing, 90% of any dispute comes from poor communication. So let's start by opening up the lines of communication and understanding. I understand why you're upset, I would be to if I was in your position. Unfortunately what I have found after a few hours of investigation is that we are both a victim of false reporting. After reviewing the history of the 2008 VW GTI I have found no signs of this vehicle being in a total loss accident, so why does the Car Fax show it? Because it's a mistake. Unfortunately these mistakes happen far too often, that's why we don't use CarFax. We use a program called AutoCheck, AutoCheck is owned by Experian and trusted by all the banks we typically use. The Wisconsin title that was issued to you is not "branded", the vehicle never had a "branded" title. We as a dealership we never purchase vehicles with branded titles, we couldn't get them financed and we don't want our name on vehicles with poor history records. So in conclusion, what I'd like to do is trade you out of the vehicle into a nicer newer car that you'll happy with for years to come. Because we sold the vehicle to you at 70% of it's retail value it should be easy to trade you out of it. If you like or even still love the car I want you to rest assure it is a safe vehicle. I'd be happy to have it inspected for you if that will put your mind at ease. We want you to be happy with the car you purchased from us, we where happy to help you then and we will be here to help you again. Please feel free to contact me at any point in time to resolve our situation. Thank You. [redacted] - GSM

On July 8, 2015 at approx. 1030am I accompanied my girlfriend to this dealer to look for a car. Upon arriving at the dealership the salesman Andrew approached us on the lot. From the start I could tell he was not very knowledgeable about the vehicles on the lot. She picked one out she liked and Andrew invited us in to talk about the car. She did the initial paperwork, ( because they do this approve you before you look thing) which is messed up to start with! So she sat there and filled out the paperwork talk in circles with this Andrew person and he brought up a 2014 Toyota Corolla with 28,000 HARD DRIVEN miles on it. I’m not exaggerating when I say this thing looks like its been through a war zone! The paint was scratched, the tires were UNSAFE for the road, rims were all chipped up, interior stunk like there was a dead rotting animal inside. The thing WAS A MESS!!! After checking the sticker I found it had unibody welds and corrections made to it. The Box was not checked for rebuilt salvage or whatever else it was. So anyway, he said this is the car the bank wants to see you in. Really? A beat up piece of crap that needs to be in the scrap yard like many other on the lot!! So she did the paperwork, got approved and went through the motions. We then wanted to leave for lunch to talk and they wanted us to take the piece of junk!! I was not about to let my kids ride in that thing again!!!! They called her after being gone for 20 minutes and said someone else was inquiring on the car and asked if she still wanted it. Really? We went down the road for lunch. Now this place is on my nerves and I wasn’t the one buying the car. Current time is 2pm when we got back the said this car was going to have new tires and gone over. I then see it parked in the lot with the stickers still on and same crappy tires!! She was in the “box” as they call it, doing paperwork. I went to find Andrew and located him and said why are their stickers still on this car and same old tires. He said “ ill check” he came back and said well there was no deal to put new tires on. I said no way, the deal was new tires. He said well it has to go to service yet. NO dealer should have to put their vehicles through service if they are sitting on the lot. He sat there an argued with us and finally another guy came out and said we will take care of it. So to clarify he told us 5 times that there would be new tires. Im super [redacted] at this point and have lost all faith in this dealership at this point. She signed the papers after all the pressure from these clowns and they were “putting the new tires on now” Andrews famous line, I have good news your car is on the rack now. So givien my gut feeling I told her to get out of this deal and we will figure something else out. She put a $500 down payment down and was able to get out and had nothing but trouble getting the 500 back. We were lied to at least 10 times that day, my kids were impatient because we been there since 1030a and its now 3pm. Finally the kicker is, the price they had on this clunker was $22,995 and was selling it to her for $16,995 with a $497 a month payment!!! INSANE considering I bought my Camry from a REPUTABLE dealer 2012 with 25,000 miles for$18,900. Long story short, if you want a junk car, crappy customer service, be lied to and screwed over Mad City Sales is the place for you. If not, please feel free to visit other better dealers in the area and steer away from this “fly by night” dealer. [redacted]
