Since I bought my home in 2004, and it is an older home, I have gone to Progressive Service Company for all of my Electrical, Plumbing and Heating & Air needs That was years ago and they are still my first "go-to" service Their people have always been professional and courteous every time they have been to my house to fix, replace and install new equipment And their prices have been within reason For example, when my 20+ year old heating and air conditioning unit went out on me, I did get estimates in addition to theirs and theirs was in-line with the others Since I had always had good service with them, it was a no-brainer to choose them to replace the heating and air conditioner unit
Over the past couple months, I have interacted with two different service technicians and a manager with this company I am very pleased with the professionalism exhibited by each and the time taken to fully explain and provide options on repairing or replacing my HVAC systems I trust them to provide quality, trustworthy maintenance in the future

I called them to schedule an appt to replace our faucet downstairs & repair the upstairs sinkThey has a special deal for $service estimateThe technician came & did an excellent job in minsWhen he returned with the invoice, it was $& I bought my own parts!!!! I asked about it & he said the call was infact $to come without anything doneThen $to replace it because he needed to drill & cut the faucet out due to been too rusty etcI called the Durham office & the secretary was just impolite & said she can't do much, it's the technician that responsible for charges Beware & get your cost before they touch anything

Had a water heater that was gushing water This company sent someone out the same day and I couldn't be more pleased with the results I had looked into replacing the unit, which is also part of my heating system, so I knew the price range to expect Progressive was spot on with the estimate and they couldn't have been nicer!!
We used Progressive for yearsBut the last few times have been very unsettlingTheir prices are VERY highWe paid over $for a hook up of a garbage disposal under the sinkThe same job weeks later performed by another company at a different unit of ours charged $ Today we had them come and diagnose a problem with our In wall heating/air unitAfter minutes he said "looks like your board and interface needs replaced" he comes back in after a bit and said "the pieces are covered under warranty but my labor will be $345!!!
What?? "That job will take less than minutes to complete" I said and he put his head down only to mutter "call my supervisor"
So the moral to this story is do your research! They are good at what they do but charging up to 400% higher than others - not worth it
Called Progressive after well stopped pumping Since it was late in the evening, I requested an appointment the next day The customer service rep was very helpful and assured me that they would send someone the next morningThe next morning a second rep actually called to let me know that the tech, *** would arrive on time After arriving, he assessed the situation, made recommendations, and gave me a quote on the repairs needed Within hours I had water flowing again The quality of work performed was first class and I'd highly recommend their service to anyone
Was able to make an appointment via email (I hate phones)I was given two time-windows the original confirmation said 8-am, but a later "reminder" email said 8-Fortunately, the tech arrived shortly before am, satisfying both
Tech was friendly and communicative, and performed the job exactly as we had agreed including some unexpected extra labor (no extra charge) due to problems with old pipes and hardwareTech also explained the line-item charges carefully before giving us the total and accepting payment
