I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me
Sincerely,
Myria ***

I recently purchased a brand new car from McGrath City Honda on Grand, the sales person Luis was excellent, the finance guy, Eddie, was adequate, he got me a lower interest rate so I was happy about that but failed to mention that my bi-monthly payments would not be through who I was financing my car with, who I later learned was *** *** which resulted in me being charged twice in one monthThen came coordinating my leather, heated seats and remote starter installationI had to deal with DanaThere was some restriction as to what time I could drop my car off, it had to be in the morning on a weekday, not convenient for a mother with a kid in school who works full timeWhen I called to let her know when I could drop it off in the morning on a weekday, she never returned my callThe day I could drop it off I went to the dealership and spoke to Jeff who is Dana's boss I was told that an appointment had to be already made and I would get charged for the loaner if I left the carI told Jeff about the restrictions of dropping the car off, how inconvenient they were making it and that it was not acceptableJeff informed me that I could drop the car off in the evening, since they are open until pmHe was not pleasant, he was rude and condescending but it seems that is the attitude of this dealershipAs I was leaving someone sitting next to Jeff said in a real snarky way, "Happy Friday"I can see why the reviews for this place suck, but I digressDana then called me later that day and told me she did indeed call me back, strike one, I told her what her boss said about dropping the car off in the evening and she said I can only do that on the days he works, strike two, after much back and forth she then says I can drop it off on the following Monday and asks me what time worksI say I get off at 4:45, then have to pick my daughter up from aftercare, then make my way to the dealership, so between 6-pmIt's agreedMonday afternoon I get a call from Dana asking if I've dropped off my carI tell her no, I'm bringing it by later that evening, she tells me no, we scheduled an appointment for you to drop off the car at am, strike threeI was completely taken aback at how inept she was at her jobShe says there must have been some miscommunication, then asks me when will I be dropping the car offI tell her at the time I told her on Friday, which is between 6-pmAfter that I wanted nothing to do with Honda ***, I decided to remove the add-ons and just have then put the money toward the principle since by this time I had already paid the first car noteI tried calling the finance guy, he didn't return my call, I e-mailed him, nothing, I called him again and got him on the phone in which he proceeds to tell me that it has nothing to do with him and I need to contact the sales personSo I call Luis, tell him the situation, that I want the add-ons removed and I'm completely disgusted with my experience with Honda ***He tells me to bring the car in that evening, he'll take care of everything, I won't have to deal with anyone but him and we'll get it taken care ofHe was a man of his word, got me in and out that night but put me in a loaner that had mechanical problems and then as soon as my car was done texted me if I could bring the loaner back ASAP because he needed it for another client, it was pm on a ThursdayDo people not have jobs that buy these cars? Needless to say this dealership is the worst I've ever dealt withI've had a *** and *** and have never had as many issuesI got a Honda because they are reliable cars that last a long time but I wished I would have known not to buy it from McGrath City Honda

McGrath City Honda and Mr*** have reviewed the issue and have come to a resolution that *** parties have agreed upon
Thank you for your kind review
All the best!!!
McGrath City Honda

In 50 years of purchasing automobiles I have never had a slimier sales experience. The vehicle I was interested in was listed on McGrath's website as well as on ***.com for $10,526. I test drove the vehicle and indicated I would like to trade in my vehicle. The trade-in offer was somewhat on the low side but the sale price had ballooned to well over $14,000 due to several phoney-baloney additional charges like "theft." I realize that the advertised offer price does not include sales tax, registration and "doc" fees (in reality, mark-up) but the additional "items' were more than $3000 over the advertised price including taxes & registration. I ended up purchasing the car for roughly $1000 over the "list" price because it was exactly what I was looking for and I had invested several hours of my time while the salesperson was "meeting" with the used car manager to present my offer. Stay away from these people !

McGrath City Honda and MsCertain have resolved all outstanding issues and have a mutual agreement that closes this caseThank you

In response to Ms***' concerns regarding the length of time to complete her services, there are two things to take into considerationOne, the vehicle service contract that she had purchased related to the coverage of her vehicle was not sold to Ms*** by McGrath City Honda or any of
its affiliates and secondly, any claims made in an effort towards repairing her vehicle would ultimately need to be reviewed and approved by her warranty provider in order for McGrath to begin repairs on any outstanding issues without having to pass any repair charges to Ms***There were multiple requests made by *** (customer's warranty company) which McGrath had to provide in order to gain approval to continue requested repairs without having to have the customer pay for them upfrontFurthermore, Ms*** had a substantial amount of work needed to repair her vehicle and her warranty provider performed its due diligence by requesting all necessary items from us as a service facility in order to confirm the work being completed was within the guidelines of the coverage they provided under the terms of Ms***' contractUnfortunately this took more time than both McGrath and our customer would have liked to gain approval but in order to provide service to Ms*** without her having to incur additional fees we were unfortunately at the whim of her service provider. Ultimately, the additional work was performed within the guidelines of her coverage and Ms***' car has been repaired and the vehicle is back in her possession

At the purchase of my vehicle, I was sold an additional car warranty and tire/dent warranty by the McGrath Honda finance dept. They stated that the paper work will arrive via mail. I have not received any of the policy information. Called multiple times, transferred to multiple depts, all unable to get the finance dept to send over the policy and contract info. Now I am in accident with the need to provide the tire warranty info at a service center and McGrath Honda is still unable to furnish that information. I am truly starting to wonder if this policy the sold is a fake.

McGrath City Honda Response • Nov 12, 2018

The good news is that there are no policies or contracts that McGrath offers that are "fake" so our customer can rest assure that any coverage that she has relating to her purchase will be honored under the contract guidelines. Unfortunately, we here at McGrath City were not aware that Ms. was in need of any assistance from us until receiving this notice. There were no messages or emails received by any of our employees indicating that our customer needed any assistance. We have called Ms. to inform her that she does indeed have the coverage that she was seeking and we are happy to provide her with a copy of any form or contract that she signed at the time of her purchase.

Thank you.

This dealership is engaged in sharp practices.

They gave me a quote for the vehicle I described, but when I asked for the out-the-door price, they added accessories that I did not request, which would have resulted in an additional $522 cost to me.

Then they gave me a written "cash price" for the vehicle I described, but told me later that they would not deliver the car for that price unless I financed the purchase with them. If I paid cash, they wanted $1,000 more than the quoted "cash price."

Then they told me the financing was 0% for the first four months, at which point I could pay off the entire balance. In fact, interest accrued at the market rate.

Shameful!

McGrath City Honda had Mr. [redacted] vehicle towed back to our dealership with no charge to the customer of course. After inspecting the vehicle the issue causing the vehicle not to start was identified and was very minor and covered by Honda warranty under the certified program. Since this time...

our customer has received the vehicle back to their possession and has spoken with our pre-owned manager [redacted] and has expressed they are completely satisfied with the results. We wish Mr. [redacted] and his family all the best going forward and invite him to reach out to us anytime for any future needs regarding his vehicle.

At this time McGrath City Honda has completed all services agreed upon with our customer. Being that the vehicle sold was signed off by Ms. [redacted] at the time of sale as an  "As is" vehicle purchase with no extended service contracts or implied warranties and the customer was...

presented with an Illinois state buyers guide stating this at the time of sale, McGrath City Honda has stood by our product and repaired all issues stated and has gone far above and beyond what was obligated in an effort to make Ms. [redacted] content with her purchase. Not only have we repaired the vehicle but we also provided Ms. [redacted] with a loaner vehicle while all repairs were being completed. With that, Ms. [redacted] still has an outstanding balance to be paid to the dealership for violations received from the City of Chicago while in possession of our loaner vehicle. We have reached out to Ms. [redacted] multiple times in an attempt to give her the opportunity to satisfy the violations which she had signed a loaner agreement form agreeing to all responsibilities for the loaner vehicle while in her possession but still have not received a response or any correspondence from her at this time. Again, McGrath City Honda has gone above and beyond our obligations regarding this transaction and would like finality upon receipt of all outstanding debts owed by the customer to our dealership. Thank you

Our General Manager here at McGrath City Honda was able to contact and discuss with Ms.[redacted] the final details of her previous service visit and has offered her a couple different options in order to work towards resolving any outstanding issues. Ultimately, she is our customer and we value her concerns. At this point, Ms. [redacted] has asked if she can have some time to review the options offered to her and when ready would follow back up with our General Manager directly to discuss which route she would like to take moving forward. Furthermore, Ms. [redacted] has her vehicle back in her possession at this time and her transmission has since been repaired at another facility that was granted approval through her warranty agency. We look forward to having the chance at servicing her in the future.

McGrath City Honda and Mr. [redacted] have reviewed the issue and have come to a resolution that [redacted] parties have agreed upon. Thank you for your kind review. All the best!!!McGrath City Honda

As promised, McGrath City Honda has forwarded the Key Fob 1 to our customer and it has been confirmed received. This should settle any outstanding issue for Mr. [redacted].Thank you!

McGrath City Honda was able to deliver the vehicle as promised to our customer as soon as it had become complete and ready for delivery. Being that the vehicle sold was a [redacted] and we are a Honda dealer we were unable to reprogram the radio code without having the vehicle sent to a [redacted]...

dealer in order to scan the radio code and reset. McGrath City would like to apologize to Ms. [redacted] due to the battery needing to be jumped on the loaner car that we provided her and any inconvenience it may have caused. It certainly isn't our intention to make things difficult, in fact we try to do everything we can to accommodate our customers. Again, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience the elapsed delivery time may have caused and hope Ms. [redacted] has been enjoying her vehicle since. All the best!McGrath City Honda

I will keep it short. Service is OK. However, what they charge for a 18 month maintenance and oil change, which aside from the latter includes visual inspection of visible points in the vehicle, oiling several connections and changing the wipers, is outrageous. So, my wife received a quote for that service - $250.
When she paid the bill it was already $288.
This used car dealership approach is well too familiar with clients and yet these guys continue employing it, particularly when it comes to servicing women.
Now, you decide whether you are going to go with them...

McGrath City Honda has removed Mr. [redacted] from our database so that he does not receive any further emails or ad campaigns in the future. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If ever he should need anything going forward he...

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:this is not the first time I’ve had to use the [redacted] warranty. It is however the first time it had taken so long to have repairs completed.  It is also necessary to not that I always kept scheduled service maintenance indicating any specific concerns to the rep. None of these things were brought to my attention or noticed before this visit.  Additionally, Honda neglected to tell you that after finally picking up my vehicle after more than a month, I had to return to the service department the very next day. At that time they diagnosed a transmission problem, which I have complained about on several occasions. The vehicle was taken back on April 14th, today is April 25th  and I have only had 1 call from Honda and that was to tell me that once again they are contacting the warranty company.
Sincerely,
Shirley [redacted]
