McGrath City Honda has reached out to our customer and has gone over all the details of her purchase. After further discussion we have come to a resolution that is agreeable to both the customer and McGrath City Honda.
Thank you for your support!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/09/15) */
I do see where Mr. [redacted] is coming from and I believe we were fair in the charges, but, possibly lacking in the explanation.
The first repair did not fix Mr.[redacted]' complaint, although the components replaced did not test 100%.
The cost of...

the first repair was $671.46.
The second repair including labor(which was not billed to customer) would have been in the range of $550 to $698, all of which would be labor except, $69.72 as the A/C evaporator has to be removed and reinstalled to replace the sensor.
The labor was waived on the second repair to make things right monetarily, if indeed, the first repairs were not needed.
Also he was supplied with a rental car at our expense on both visits as to not disturb or interrupt his daily activity.
If Mr. [redacted] feels we did not communicate that well enough, our apologies.
This was our first opportunity to service Mr. [redacted]' car and would like to continue to be his servicing dealer. Even though we feel we have went above and beyond concerning the repair, we would like to offer him a $200 service credit to be used in the future. This can be used towards any repairs done to his vehicle going forward.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I do not accept McGrath City Honda's offer of a $200 service credit. I would accept a $200 refund from them but not a credit. I plan on never returning as a customer to McGrath City Honda. I feel strongly that they have misled me, lied to me and charged me for unnecessary repairs. I would never recommend their service department to anyone. And if this situation is not resolved to my satisfaction, I will express those views on [redacted] and social media. I feel their explanation for the necessity of the first repair is tenuous at best. My car's AC experienced the exact same problems before the first and second repair. Both times my car's AC would stop working in exactly the same manner when the car was running for more than an hour. Is there any proof that "the components did not test 100%" before the first repair and needed to be replaced, but did test 100% before the second repair even though the AC failed to operate exactly the same before both repairs. I called another certified Honda service center and inquired about the cost of having the temperature sensor replaced (the second repair that was made). I was told it would only take 2-3 hours and that the sensor was inexpensive. Therefore I feel McGrath City Honda is exaggerating the actual cost of the second repair when they quote a cost of $550 to $698.
I paid a total of $741.18 to McGrath City Honda to have my AC repaired; $671.46 for the first repair and $69.72 for the second repair. I believe the cost should have been closer to $500, and that only the second repair was necessary. If they refund me $200 for the difference in that cost I will consider this matter resolved.

McGrath City Honda has reached out to our customer and has gone over all the details of her purchase. After further discussion we have come to a resolution that is agreeable to both the customer and McGrath City Honda. Thank you for your support!

My wife needed a new car and has waited far too long because she really dislikes the negotiation and time it take to settle on a dealer and price. I did the research for her and found it to be a daunting task even on the internet. I only dealt with dealers first of all that had a fairly good rating with the Revdex.com. After researching the car we really wanted it was a matter of the best price and who had the right color. I went to dealerships that my business uses and came up with an attitude of "they are going fast and this is the best price". no matter how many trucks that I have purchased from them, their prices did not come close to others. Very disappointed. I went to anther dealer in Naperville for a Honda and I must say they had the best price until it change on us because of a Honda discount that ended. I even asked if they would split the difference while we were in the showroom waiting to buy on the spot. They did not come down even a dime. This dealership so impressed me with the modern up to date showroom and service department as well as the well dresses sales staff that ended up to be empty suits. I would have considered this dealership In Naperville to be the [redacted] of Honda dealers, but like [redacted] you have to pay for the admission fee. I finally approached this dealership McGrath City Honda and asked if they could match or come close to the best offer that I had researched. I think I had a total of 15 dealerships that I talked to including the ones our business and friends and even family had done business with. McGrath said yes to the price match and said to come over and pick out the one of two that they had in black. The sales manager Jeremy [redacted] was so professional and courteous that I knew right then and there I had found my dealer. The salesman the handled the paperwork was Dodie [redacted] and was very nice as well. I would have to say even the financial officer that handled our loan gave us so many options and a no pressure feeling that we were even impressed with him. My wife was happy and ended up buying some of the extra items that we originally were going to say no to and turned out to be a very great experience. I can not recommend them enough. Thank you for making a difficult experience one of the most pleasurable because of the way that we were treated. Its not about the show, or the salesmen dress or even the location sometimes it is about how you are treated and listened to that makes the difference and that is what I found at MacGrath City Honda.

Our corporate policy is to treat each guest with respect when they come to our establishment and we always regret hearing that a customer feels that was not the case. Our General Manager recalls of a situation with a customer being...

unhappy that we were not able to discount an internet vehicle further, but we simply felt the internet pricing was the lowest price we would accept. While we have no evidence of discrimination, we never want to hear that someone feels this way.
We make every effort to ensure that we deliver exceptional customer service to each individual that we encounter and truly appreciate you giving us the opportunity to earn your business.
Warm Regards,

[redacted] City has reached out to Mr. [redacted] and after a conversation and better understanding of each other from both aspects of the issue we have come to a resolution and both parties have agreed.

McGrath City Honda has been in contact with our customer both via email and via phone calls in order to ultimately resolve the issue. We asked that the customer provide us with an invoice from the facility where she had her vehicle repaired. The customer made us aware on 1/9/16 that the facility...

that she had her vehicle repaired is an independent contractor and is not required to hold a business license in the state of Indiana. It is our understanding thus far that the customer is unable to provide us with neither an actual invoice depicting the work done to her vehicle nor a detailed professional description of  what may have been the cause of her issue with the vehicle.  Although we would like to be able to provide support and an ultimate resolution we ask that the items necessary in making a final decision be provided to us in some capacity in order for us to do so. Thank you for your assistance

February 22, 2018 I took my 2009 Honda Pilot into McGrath City Honda for scheduled oil/filter change and detailing which was the mthly special. As of today April 11, 2018 I still do not have my vehicle. I received a call from my service representative a few hours after dropping off with a list of issues. Note I purchased this vehicle new and have always brought it into the same dealer for any/all service. I also. have an extended warranty with *** Corporation, Boca Raton, FL. to cover other major problems. Several calls where made to the dealer as to the length of time taken for repair and I was informed that the warranty company made several requests to take apart specific areas of the vehicle, take pictures and eventually sending out a representative. I finally got a call from Honda with a list of repairs that I would be responsible for totaling $4,359.95 plus tax and finally from the warranty company who will be covering approx. $3,588.30. First I am not satisfied with the time it took the dealer and the warranty company to make their decisions. Second, I don't understand why some of the problems addressed had not been found during my regular consistent maintenance visits.

McGrath City Honda Response • Apr 24, 2018

In response to Ms.' concerns regarding the length of time to complete her services, there are two things to take into consideration. One, the vehicle service contract that she had purchased related to the coverage of her vehicle was not sold to Ms. by McGrath City Honda or any of its affiliates and secondly, any claims made in an effort towards repairing her vehicle would ultimately need to be reviewed and approved by her warranty provider in order for McGrath to begin repairs on any outstanding issues without having to pass any repair charges to Ms.. There were multiple requests made by *** (customer's warranty company) which McGrath had to provide in order to gain approval to continue requested repairs without having to have the customer pay for them upfront. Furthermore, Ms. had a substantial amount of work needed to repair her vehicle and her warranty provider performed its due diligence by requesting all necessary items from us as a service facility in order to confirm the work being completed was within the guidelines of the coverage they provided under the terms of Ms.' contract. Unfortunately this took more time than both McGrath and our customer would have liked to gain approval but in order to provide service to Ms. without her having to incur additional fees we were unfortunately at the whim of her service provider.

Ultimately, the additional work was performed within the guidelines of her coverage and Ms.' car has been repaired and the vehicle is back in her possession.

Customer Response • Apr 25, 2018

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:this is not the first time I’ve had to use the *** warranty.

It is however the first time it had taken so long to have repairs completed. It is also necessary to not that

I always kept scheduled service maintenance indicating any specific concerns to the rep. None of these things were

brought to my attention or noticed before this visit. Additionally, Honda neglected to tell you that after finally picking up my

vehicle after more than a month, I had to return to the service department the very next day. At that time they diagnosed a transmission problem, which I have complained about on several occasions. The vehicle was taken back on April 14th, today is

April 25th and I have only had 1 call from Honda and that was to tell me that once again they are contacting the warranty company.

Sincerely,

Shirley

Our General Manager here at McGrath City Honda was able to contact and discuss with Ms. the final details of her previous service visit and has offered her a couple different options in order to work towards resolving any outstanding issues. Ultimately, she is our customer and we value her concerns. At this point, Ms. has asked if she can have some time to review the options offered to her and when ready would follow back up with our General Manager directly to discuss which route she would like to take moving forward. Furthermore, Ms. has her vehicle back in her possession at this time and her transmission has since been repaired at another facility that was granted approval through her warranty agency. We look forward to having the chance at servicing her in the future.

Me and my wife were looking to replace her car with a new vehicle because it was about time. We visited McGrath honda city just to look around and get some information. From that day we continued to receive calls almost everyday. We went in a second time just to get some more information and some more pricing before making decisions about purchasing. The day we went in we began to ask questions about our trade in quote that was told and one of the sales reps was begin to be very rude to use and talking to me and my wife with attitude and disrespect. We decided to leave and try again another day when we were about ready to buy. The final time we came in we were handed of to another sales rep and we test drove the car we were interested in and got a little more information. Before we decided to proceed further we had informed that we didn't want to run our credit check multiple times because we knew how much impact it has on a credit score each time its ran. we made sure we clarified that to the sales rep and we proceeded to get a hard quote on what price we were looking at for purchase and the sales rep never mentioned that our credit report was being run though multiple banks and that it was going to affect our credit with the inquiries or that it was gonna be processed multiple times. We finally got a quote from the sales rep and we were not quite satisfied with the quote and the found a better one that seemed a bit more appealing. When we received the quote me and my wife wanted to take some time to think about it and the sales rep continued to push the price and didn't wanna allow us time to go over the numbers or anything. He then brought in the manager and the manager was just as much trying to push us in to the price and to buy the car. He kept telling us if we didn't sign then and there we would lose out on our deal and just did everything possible to get me and my wife to sign. We didn't feel like they were in any way doing things in our best interest and was doing anything and everything to benefit themselves and get a sale out of us. even after we told the manager we would call back if we were interested in buying, they continued to call us over and over again. Now me and my wife have multiple hard inquiries on our credit report and is affecting our credit score because we were not properly informed about everything from the sales rep. They've continued to call my wife everyday since that day and even after we told them no thank you the first time they called after they still called until I told the manager if they continued to call I would report it as harassment. Overall they were rude and unprofessional and we will never go back to their dealer or send any family or friends to purchase from them as well.

McGrath City Honda has spoken with Mr. [redacted] and has resolved his issue.
There should be nothing left outstanding regarding this matter.
Thank you

McGrath City Honda Response • Apr 28, 2018

In response to Ms. issues regarding her purchase, McGrath City Honda will try to answer each question raised within the customer complaint. With regard to our customer wanting to return the vehicle because of her interest rate being high is simply not within the guidelines of the sales contracts she signed which clearly states the interest rate that was facilitated to her by McGrath City Honda from a lienholder willing to finance her loan based off her personal credit situation and loan structure. These details were provided to Ms. throughout the purchasing process and ultimately once again in the business office while signing the final documents and disclosures. Regarding any recalls related to this vehicle, McGrath City Honda provides a "Recall Listing Disclosure" form that states in essence that this vehicle could possibly qualify as being subject to an open recall and that the dealer recommends the buyer take the vehicle to an applicable franchise dealer to confirm any open recalls that could possibly still need to be performed. This form was presented to and signed by Ms. before her taking delivery of the 2010 *** that she purchased on 3/17/18. Furthermore, McGrath City Honda performs a used car inspection on all vehicles prior to them being available for sale to the public. This vehicle does not come close to any type of lemon law clause of any sort. Please search lemon law guidelines for any further info regarding lemon law qualifications. With regards to brakes, during initial inspection before the sale, our service department installed new front pads and resurfaced front rotors. We can only assume that the noise the customer is hearing could be due to the new brakes settling into place . This noise should be temporary as the front brakes are brand new. We appreciate Ms. concerns and ultimately want her to be satisfied with her purchase and feel we did everything necessary as her selling dealer to not only secure a loan that met her standards at the time of her decision to purchase and take delivery but to also to deliver a quality vehicle that provides value for both her budget and credit situation. We feel that's what was done. As a dealership that believes deeply in customer service, we invite Ms. back to our service center to allow us to re-inspect and discuss any remaining issues she may still feel need attention. If at that time we can offer assistance we are always happy to do so.

The moment I walked in the sales rep in the new car section was very helpful Jose he is new to the team but he knows exactly what he's talki about, he should me how to navigate the new model Honda Accord Lx, it was a pleasure purchasing my car at Honda McGrath!!!

This dealership is by far the worst I have ever been to. I have bought 4 cars so far in three different states and never witnessed the amount of shady things they do here. Bought a [redacted] from the used lot knowing it had been modified. The car was stripped of all the aftermarket parts and had horrible bald tires. Come to find out there was a nail in one and the TPMS sensors were not present. The exhaust wasn't on right and leaked from multiple locations. The airbag light comes on. The airbox wasn't held in and the maf sensor just thrown in the intake tube. Took the car back and told them about the issues and got it returned a month later. Same issues, and I had two dents an a scratch down the side. Took it back and they worked on it again for two weeks and repaired the damage. They did offer to fix a door dent I caused for free as a make up for the trouble and threw in TPMS sensors. I had to fight for the sensors even though the promised when. I bought the car to take care of the lights. Okay, here we are now in November and I still have bolts missing from the header which causes a serious leak into the cabin and the airbag light comes on intermittently. The car also came with alignment off. They clearly did not do a inspection or even bothered to make sure the car was safe for the road! Do NOT buy from them!!

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory given Mcgrathty Honda provides me back the trade-in on 9.14.16 in the same condition that I delivered it in with nothing missing &  the title included.

Both McGrath City Honda and Ms. [redacted] have decided that it would be best to unwind the deal entirely and just take the sold vehicle back in the dealership's possession. At this point there has been no loan placed or pending and the deal is considered null and void. McGrath City Honda will also be...

returning Ms. [redacted]' trade-in vehicle back to her on Wednesday 9/14/16. This should finalize the undone transaction. Thank you for your assistance to this matter.
