We ordered the special door correctly.  When the door arrived and checked we noticed that the door was damaged in shipment.  We ordered a replacement door immediately and set the new install date for 12/31/15.  The day of the install our install the installer seriously cut his hand...

and had to go the emergency room.  The customer did not believe us so the installer drove to the customers home to show his injury prior to going to the emergency room.  Unfortunately because of the additional delay the customer canceled.  Normally we do not refund deposits when the door ordered is a special and build specifically for the customers home.  The door goes in the trash.   We have refunded the customer the 150.00.

Review: I purchased a new garage door and a garage door opener 11/18/2014 for $1200.00, It was installed 11/27/2014, Approximately 2 weeks later the opener stopped working for 3 days, I called Mesa and never recieved a call back, Then in Dec. approx. 1 month later the garage door bent and it took them 1 month to replace it, Now on 1/20/2015 the 2nd new garage door came off the hinges and when I called they stated they could possible be out some time tommorrow,I have had several garage door installers out to my premises within 2 mos. of the purchase, I made a complaint with [redacted] and after voiceing my dissatisfaction she stated someone will be out first thing tommorrow a.m., I have had to make multiple phone calls to Mesa because of there poor customer service and product dissatisfaction, My last garage door lasted 12 years and I never experienced any problems, Could it be cheap material? I feel I was ripped off, I am a single mother that works hard for every penny earned, My family's safety is very important to me and it frightens me that I am unable to close my garage door properly, Please look into any other complaints regarding this company, I would like my money back and go elsewhere for a new garage door if possible, So that my family will be safe at night...Thank you very frustrated consumer...Desired Settlement: Refund of my $1200. So that I can take my buisness elsewhere where they have dependable workmanship and better quality garage doors

Response:

[redacted] and Mesa have communicated multiple times and set up subsequent service to address the issues. Today an expert technician was out to assess and addressed what he believes could have contributed to the problem. I followed up directly with him and he confirmed that all is in great working condition.

[redacted]' door and opener are covered under warranty and Mesa is committed to fulfilling that warranty efficiently.

Review: Our garage door replacement project began on February 12, 2014. On March 8, 2014 the door was installed with the wrong windows and the door too short, leaving a 4 inch gap at the top of the door. Around May 5, 2012, the workers arrived with the wrong sized panel and the job could not be completed. The projected time for installation is now the end of May. Issues:1. During the time of this project, we have been exposed to potential rodent intrusion through the 4 inch gap.2. The company has been non-responsive in informing us of timelines and issues.3. The front of the house has been left is disrepair and unsightly.4. We have been consistently discounted treated with a condescending attitude.Desired Settlement: A discount for our trouble. A warning to consumers regarding poor service and workmanship.

Mesa's Response;

Mesa responded immediately and consistently throughout the entire process. The replacement parts were ordered and due to special features, took some time to get it, but are here now and have been. The [redacted]s were kept in the loop and Mesa does have a paper trail available through both Customer Service and our Sales Manager to show the communication.

As per our last communication, we apologized for the manufacturer delay and have the replacement available to schedule at their convenience.

They may call our service line to schedule at 1-800-951-7700 or contact me directly via email at [email protected]

The team that arrived and installed the doors were indeed good. They kept us informed when they said they would be late for a few minutes which is really nice of them. They were also careful and diligent in their work, making sure to fit the nicely into the garage. There was a bit of mess in the process but they cleared it up for us. So nice to have experienced their service. Would definitely recommend them.

Review: I bought a new garage door. The installers who installed my door did poor quality work on the bottom seal and the exterior molding. Initially, the bottom seal they installed was all twisted on one side and one side of the exterior molding was cut too short. I had to argue with the girl in the office to get them to change it while they were still there. However, after they left, I noticed the exterior molding on the side they re-installed did not match the rest of the molding---it was super shiny and sticky and felt and smelled like it had been painted, the rest of he molding was matte plain rubber. I called and was told I would have to make another appointment to have it changed (again). When they came and reinstalled the molding on that side again, I noticed that in the upper corner it hadn't been cut properly at a 45 degree angle. However, I just had them leave, it wasn't worth getting into an argument about it. I thought the guy would take a hint because I kept looking back and forth at the upper corner on the other side and the upper corner of what they just did. Shoddy, workmanship, working too fast. They need to slow down and do a job correctly. I was afraid to have them cut it and cut it too much. I will find someone myself to cut it. This shouldn't have happened on something I paid almost $900 for. I took a picture of it and sent it to my salesman.Desired Settlement: I want a partial refund by check of $50.00 to cover my inconvenience of waiting here twice for them and then having someone else finish their work.

Response:

[redacted] signed off as satisfied upon completion of the installation as well as paid in full that day. When she called to express her dissatisfaction with certain components, a service was promptly scheduled and completed in a timely fashion. We appreciate her business and stand by our warranty should she need anything further.

Review: Worker's did a bad job, we complained regarding to mess garage doors and did not up front upon finishing the work because [redacted] released the workers to next job site. The, we were threaten to pay in full or put a lien on the house. We then paid in full and she said a worker would come to inspect the finished work. He came and filled up a form and informed me that they will come and fix the damages done by them. He would let [redacted] know.

My wife tried on several occasions to contact and left several messages but nobody came and nobody called abd nobody cared.Desired Settlement: Finished what was promised on the frame and outside strip and window tear.

Communication ceased upon final payment back in August of 2014. Job was complete, and door functional at the time that the payment was made by customer to close file. There has been no subsequent communication from customer for over 5 months. Customer may call in at anytime should they feel like work is incomplete. However, based on our assessment and completion of payment, file was closed back in August.

Review: I ordered a brand new garage door on August 14, 2013 via a salesman who came here to measure and take my order. When he left, he told me that my garage door will arrive and be installed on September 4. On August 23rd, I called to cancel the order because my daughter decided to convert the garage into a room so we no longer needed the garage door changed. The lady on the phone said she will cancel the order. I received a phone call on August 27 to confirm that the order was cancelled and to let me know that my deposit of $200 will be forfeited. I understand that they should hold a 10% deposit of the garage door amount, but I don't think they should take my whole deposit of $200.

Product_Or_Service: garage door

Order_Number: [redacted]

Account_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

$200 deposit minus the 10% of garage door ($740 total) so $74, I should get back $126.

Response:

We received notification of this complaint at a significant delay beyond when it was filed. Please update records to reflect that a refund was issued to reflect the 10% and a total of $126 was refunded via check.

Consumer

Response:

Previous complaint filed under case number [redacted] in which the business stated that I was sent a refund back on November 15, 2013. I still have not received a refund check in the amount of $126. I have called the business and left 4 messages and no one is responding back to me. I called the Revdex.com and I was referred to the San Diego branch to re-open this case because it still has not been resolved. Please advise since I am not getting a response from Mesa garage door.

Desired Settlement

$126 dollars- $200 downpayment for garage doors minus 10% from total $740 which is $74 per the cancellation policy.

Business

Response:

Mesa apologizes for the delay, the check was returned in the mail due to a typo. I have the check in hand and will see to it that it is in the mail first thing.

Review: Merchant send a representative name [redacted] , after conversation and collecting the deposit , [redacted] handed me the invoice and agreed on a date for the garage door to be installed. I received no phone call nor any respond by the company after I noticed the job was not done. According to phone rep , they did not perform the job since we did not remove the garage door and they state it was clearly explained on the invoice in remark section. after explaining that there no remarks on the said invoice the rep and the manager [redacted] accuse me of lie . I forwarded the actual invoice and there is no remarks about anything of said by merchant. Furthermore they are advertising that they will in fact hall away or old door "free" . Now in order for them to continue with the said work they are trying to extort $[redacted] more to hall away the old door. This is clearly bait n switch.Desired Settlement: m

Response:

[redacted];I personally spoke with Mr. [redacted] to review the contract and explained that while he may not have been under the impression that the haul away was his responsibility, he was not being charged for it which alludes to the conversation he had with his sales representative. Customer was threatening which led me to agree to cancel his contract and refund his deposit. In no way did we try to bait and switch this customer, but merely agree to the contract at hand and do our best to install a good quality product at a reasonable price.

Response:

Mesa stands by their contract and was willing and able to fulfill on our end, which was evident by showing up on the day of installation to try and install our product. Mr. [redacted] was not on site, nor available on the day of installation to discuss any details that could have prevented further misunderstanding and has no reasonable basis for his claim. Regardless, the contract was mutually cancelled.

We just got our garage door opener repaired a few days ago upon writing this, and it's all thanks to their prompt and skilled technician. I am truly happy about the quick response I got from their and how nice their office staff were. They have great pricing for their service and best of all, great customer service! I know have my "go to" company for any garage door service where I can put my trust on. Highly recommend them to others!~

Response:

Mr. [redacted] and Mesa came to a settlement last week and have closed the file to the Customer's satisfaction.

Recommended to me by family and a friend and my experience with the service they have given was impressive. The support was polite and answered my questions well. The team that they sent were on time and was prepared. They immediately went to work and didn't do a messy job. In fact, they have kept everything clean! Though it took some time than I had expected but they made sure that the door was working well. Quality of work done was definitely great. It is no wonder that it was recommended to me.

Review: I paid Mesa Garage Doors in full for installation of a garage door with handle. Yet they charged my credit card for an additional $477. When I called to refute the charge, I was directed to voice mail. No one called me back. So I deferred the dispute to my credit card company. They collected proof of payment from me and later sent me a letter to say the dispute had been resolved and they were issuing me a credit.

But that same day I received a call from [redacted] in Mesa Garage Doors accounts receivable requesting that I call him back concerning a mechanics lien on my property. When I did, [redacted] would not allow me to speak, and hung up on me saying that he was going to turn the case over to a collections agency. I then left a message for [redacted], a manager who I had spoken to previously when Mesa failed to show on the initial installation date. [redacted] has not returned my call.

I initially had ordered a motor for my garage door. However, when the installers arrived, they discovered that there is no electricity. Therefore they were unable to install the motor. So instead Mesa returned at a later date to install a door handle. I suspect that the amount in dispute is for the motor that the Mesa installers retained in their possession. But since [redacted] hung up on me, I am unable to clarify.

Regardless, Mesa should not issue me an unwarranted charge for a part that they did not install. And refusing to let me speak, hanging up on me, and threatening me is abhorrent behavior.Desired Settlement: Cease and desist for incorrect billing. Apology for rude, unprofessional business conduct. Reading reviews on [redacted] for Mesa Garage Doors, apparently this is standard behavior for both [redacted] and [redacted]

Response:

We have refunded this customer $469.00 on 8-17-2015. I left the customer 3 separate messages regarding the credit card being refunded and for her to confirm that she received the credit. I never got a return call back. I can’t find how to get to this complaint on the Revdex.com website to make a reply. At this time that the complaint was made I didn’t get a chance to respond to the complaint because I didn’t have access to the site. Please let me know what other information you need regarding this customer (Burnstein, Penny) . Thank you, [redacted]

Response:

Dear

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. The complaint has been resolved. Thank you for your attention to this matter. [redacted]

Quality of work done by them was top-notch. I had a new door installed courtesy of the technicians from this company. I like the quote they gave me which was much better than the others and a relative advised us to use their service. Convinced, I immediately hired them to do the job and indeed, they were great. The task was arduous but they complied without any problems which is great. The work was finished in two hours and even cleaned up afterwards.

Review: The current commercial run by Mesa Garage Doors is misleading and incorrect. The commercial shows what appears to be a two-car garage that the commercial claims can be fixed for $399. What the commercial does not state as it had in previous commercials is that the $399 price was for a single garage door of a specific dimension, and as a I recall it was called a Bronze door.

I’m on the board of directors of a coop homeowners association. One of senior citizen shareholders suggested replacing our garage doors, as the cost was only $399. This is an obvious lie and intentional misstatement.

I have previously challenged Mesa Garage Doors commercials as the had not listed their contractor’s license board number and as it claimed that [redacted] was the president. After my complaints those misstatements and omission were corrected.Desired Settlement: Correct the commercial

Business

Response:

Mr. [redacted] claims are false. Our commercial states that the $399 price is for a 1 car garage door. Yes, there are multiple examples of different garage doors within the commercial, but under no circumstances are we intentionally misleading the customer.

Our legal department has made multiple attemps to discuss with Mr. [redacted] to no avail.

Review: April 19, 2014

A technician came to our property to repair our garage door. The repair consisted of replacing the springs and then he sprayed lubricant on the sides and hinges in between the garage door panels. Immediately after, we noted that the garage door was making extremely loud squeaking noises as well as oil spots appearing from the outside of the garage door.

May 2, 2014

A second technician came to our property to inspect our garage door after we made a follow up call to the company about the issue. He also sprayed lubricant but only on the sides and along the springs and motor cable/chain (not on the hinges in between the garage door panels). That resolved the squeaking noise. He then inspected the oil stains from the outside of the garage, took pictures, and then tried to clean the stains unsuccessfully. During this time, he was on his cellphone with his supervisor reporting the issue and getting instructions on what to do. After he got off the phone, he reported that he was not ab** to clean the stains and that someone from your office would contact us.

We did not receive a return phone call from customer service until June 4, 2014 after multip** follow up calls on our part. At this point, the customer service rep claimed she had not reviewed our complaint and lost the photos taken by their technician due to a system crash. We had to re-send pictures we took of our damaged garage door.

June 5, 2014

The customer service rep denied any responsibility for the damages caused by their technician and suggested we get a quote for the repairs and she would seek reimbursement from her supervisor.

June 11, 2014

We provided a quote of $280 to repaint our garage door.

June 24, 2014

After almost 2 weeks, we finally heard back and they only agreed to reimburse $140 (half the cost).

The company purposely avoided the situation, didn't respond in a timely manner, didn't operate in a trustworthy manner and didn't show a sense of urgency to resolve issueDesired Settlement: Pay for the repair up front and in full at $280 due to damages inflicted by your company.

Business

Response:

Mesa has advised the customer that although we disagree on how damage occurred on their doors, we will be reimbursing them for the cost to paint the door and have thanked them for their business.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. We would prefer not to close this case until a refund check has been received by the business. The business emailed us on July 25, claiming they would send a full refund check to us the following week. It's been over a week since we received their message, and we have not received the check yet. We understand that it may take some processing time, but based on this company's poor track record for honesty and expeditious response to issues, we want to make sure a check is received before we close this case

Review: We bought a 2 car garage door, and a 1car garage door from Mesa Garage Doors last year it was installed May 2,2013. Before we bought the garage door we went over all the details what was covered, what we were looking for cause we explained that we have high winds and that is what caused our original door to get damaged. The salesman explained that we would not have to worry about that problem again cause we guarantee our product will hold. They install insulation pads on the doors in which this helps prevent the door from moving back and forth so much, and measure to get the exact fit,and ensure our garage doors will open by adjusting the garage door openers. He told us we have a lifetime warranty and as long as we do no damage our self, or paint it they would honor the garage door. I started calling 4/30/2014 to 5/2/2014 it took 5 calls 3 in same day cause the door was getting worse before I would get an answer, and they didn't even do what they said I would get a call back to let me know when the service guy would come out. When he finally came out 5/2/2014 first thing out of his mouth was what did we do to the garage, I felt he called us liars that we damaged it ourselves. All he did was take pictures wrote down the cause and said [redacted] will calls us on Monday 5/5/2014. Monday came,Tuesday, and than Wednesday with no call. I called Wednesday left a message, and than called back 5/8/2014. [redacted] finally called this morning 5/9/2014 and she told us we understand we need a new garage door and I told her yes. She said that it will cost and I stopped her saying we have a warranty and she said 100 mph winds are not covered cannot predict the wind. I told her we were not told that when we purchased, that we would not have that problem again, we have a warranty. Our garage door did not even hold for a year before collapsing. We want mesa garage door to honor their contract and replace our door at no cost. Very upset, and mad with their service. They guaranteed. They knew we had a wind problem.Desired Settlement: We would like the 2 car garage door to be totally replaced because it is under warranty. It took them so long to get back with us just to tell us we have to pay for a new one at a discount price. We would like to have it replaced free of charge with a good quality garage door. If they will not replace the garage door we want a full refund back $1669.00 for false representation.

Business

Response:

Mesa does apologize for the delay in response. The representative handling this case passed away suddenly last week and ultimately there was a slight delay in rescheduling and follow up as a result. Regardless of the delayed response, I personally explained to Mrs. [redacted] that an 'Act of God' is not covered under warranty and certainly cannot be held accountable for circumstances/weather beyond our control, as notated in item 7 of our warranty. We offered a significant discount to replace the door panels, as well as including additional reinforcement at no cost to customer as a goodwill gesture.
