Mountain Land Collection Agency Reviews (87)

My initial contact from this company was a representative over a year after services rendered for a child’s emergency room visitWe had paid all of the bills related to the incident and was not aware of the one Mountain land was trying to collectThe agent was extremely rude and when I asked for information she didn’t have any besides the amount and provider of EPICIn asking questions, they received the bill in December of and didn’t make contact until February or March Oddly enough daily interest was being added to the bill for the 3+ months while they didn’t contact meWhen I challenged the agent that the practice of letting collections age just to increase the interest is immoral and a poor way to do businessShe ended the call promising to mail out a detailed breakdown to my address that I gave herThis breakdown didn’t arrive for over weeks and wasn’t detailed at all, all while raising the interest even higherShortly after I was contacted by a law firm threat

I went into the hospital January/February of for emergency Gallbladder removalAll of my costs were covered by Medicaid/Priority Health
The first week of August 2016, I get a bill in the mail from Mountain Land Collections stating I have an outstanding balance of 450+ dollarsI contact Priority Health of Michigan (where I was insured at time of charge) and she is just as confused as I amThe bill was payed in from Priority HealthThere is no outstanding bill of that amountIt was payed for
She calls Mountain Land Collections for me to inquireThen she calls me back and informs me it has been taken care ofShe has informed the agency that the bill was payed and they "agreed"
I looked at my credit score today and there is a derogatory mark against my credit score for a bill that has been payed in fullThis mark was made by Mountain Land CollectionsThey will not remove it from my credit score or report it has been payed

In October 2015, my daughter and I were involved in an auto accidentTwo different insurance companies were involved in paying the medical bills and were really great to work withAny bills I received in the mail were sent to the ins co and promptly paidMarch 22, 2016, I received a bill from Mountain Land Collections for the ambulanceNever at any time had I received a bill or a phone call from the ambulance serviceI called MLC immediately and sent the bill to the ins coThe adjuster was diligent, although he found MLC difficult to work withHe was then told he could not pay the bill because of HIPAA LawsSo he said he was going to send me a check for the full amount to pay directlyThe letter from MLC was dated 3/15/and said I had days to resolve itToday is 4/8/and I just received notice that they reported me to collections on 3/31/I called and they denied reporting it and told me I would have to take it up with the credit bureaus, as they had nothing to do w

On December 24th of I overdosed in an attempt to kill myself and panicked and got to a hospitalAfter being treated at the hospital, I was transported via ambulance to a psychiatric ward in another city
Mountainland collections acquired that ambulance bill and sued me without ever sending me a bill or calling me about it and are now garnishing 25% of my wages in the amount of $per week
I don't understand how people can be so slimy as to sue someone for a medical bill from a suicide attempt, and then be fine garnishing their wages when they make less than $per monthI'll never understand that but the people at mountainland collections should know that there's a special place for people that do this kind of thing
I attempted to settle the debt with all of the money I had at the time, and I was lied to by the person on the phone about things I had said previously to them, and told that the only way to settle it was if I paid the amount in full + lawyer fees and court fees in one lump sum payment

I had a Medical bill for roughly $forwarded to Mountain Land CollectionI called to pay the debt within weeks of the first noticeThey charge interestThey are now charging a $7!!!!! "convenience fee" to pay debts over the phone or online with a credit card--this is SO FAR above and beyond a reasonable charge to utilize a credit card, let alone an HSA card for paying medical bills, it should not be allowedThey are not getting charged ANYWHERE near this amount to process a credit card transaction and feels like a blatant attempt and increasing profitsThey already charge us, the consumer, an interest feeWhen I asked the phone agent what the convenience fee was for, I was told "convenience"--she couldn't even articulate what it was for and immediately went into "calm down" you can just send a check to avoid the costs language with meIt was frustrating and condescending
Further, this cost is not disclosed ANYWHERE on the bill, or upfront in the conversationClearly, I

Dear Ms***,Thank you for contacting our office. While we work closely with our Client to determine where the funds were credited and do further research, we have requested this outstanding account be removed from your credit report. We have submitted an electronic request as well as
a Universal Deletion Form, and a letter will be sent to the address on file stating we have requested the account be removed while we research further. Please feel free to contact our office with further questions. Thank you,Cathi M***Mountain Land Collections, Inc

We have reviewed the complaint on Mr*** accounts. We have researched both accounts the consumer has outstanding as he mentions in his complaint and verified twice with the original creditor that all payments have been credited to his account. We have provided an
itemization of the outstanding amounts and payment history to Mr*** *** who is representing Mr***. Mountain Land received two letters from Mr*** that deny the amount owed, but did not include any payment details that would allow us to research missing payments further. Mountain Land Collections has requested that our attorney, *** ** *** reach out to Mr*** to further discuss missing payments and try to get this matter resolved as quickly as possible. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Thank you,Cathi M***Director of OperationsMountain Land Collections, Inc

On I received an automated call from Mountain Land Collections I called back and spoke with Eva She said I owed $for a hospital visit back in I told her I never received any written notification about this collections She told me the notices were sent to my old address She did not even bother to take down my current address
I then asked if the collections had been reported to the credit agencies and Eva said that it had I told her that was the only collections on my credit report and I wanted it removed completely from my credit report Eve told me it would be removed after I pay the bill I asked for written verification that if I paid the $it would be removed from my credit Eva told me they don't provide that in writing I told Eva that I needed something in writing and she said that was not possible I told her I was not going to pay the $unless I had a guarantee that it would be removed from my credit Eve said I will notate your account

They give you a robo call without any information and make you call them backThese calls come over and over until you finally give in and call them backThen, they won't tell you anything unless you give them name and phone number, which sounds like a phishing scamI finally gave in and they then told me it was a wrong numberThey have been calling me repeatedly, all for a wrong number - they refuse to verify their information and if I don't give in and give them my info they will keep calling me back indefinitelyThis is harassmentI've never experienced worse customer service and it should be illegal to force us to call them and give out personally identifiable information (which is exactly what scammers do)This business model has to be changed

I received several call from MountainLand Collections in regarding a medical bill of approximately $which MountainLand alleged was my responsibility The bill was one of many emergency medical bills for an accident that my son was involved in (he was not the driver) The driver's insurance, Allstate, paid all bills related to the accident including this one for approximately $ I provided all this information to MountainLand I provided MountainLand a contact person at Allstate to verify that the bill was not my responsibility However MountainLand insisted I must pay the bill I obtained a copy of the paid check from Allstate and sent it to Mountainland However Mountainland filed a negative credit report against me This report has had a very negative effect on my ability to obtain a mortgage for a home I contacted MountainLand again on May 2, 2017, to request this be cleared up but all my requests have been ignored I sent another copy of the paid check

Mountain land called my year-old college daughter regarding an "unpaid" medical claimThey called her at work, then immediately on her cell phone (she was busy and offered to call them back)When she answered the phone they bullied her, demanding that she pay $immediately or that the bill would gain interest every dayThe woman said she was an attorney (she wasn't) and said insurance wouldn't pay this because it was too old, that she needed to pay it immediatelyWe have Blue Cross and were unaware whether this bill was unpaidLooks like problems/lies to me: 1) They are not allowed to call a person at their job during work hours, 2) she claimed to be a lawyer, and 3) this bill is ineligible for insurance coverage as it is a year old

This showed up on my credit in May, but was filed in DecemberI didn't even live in utah in decemberI haven't bought anything worth what they claim I owe and any outstanding medical bills were covered by my insuranceThis is a scam

I received a letter from these people last year saying that I owed Revere Health almost $ I am not a patient of Revere Health, and never have been I contacted Mountain Land Collection Agency, and explained that a mistake had been made They were rude and extremely unprofessional I went to Revere Health, and they contacted Mountain Land Collection Agency, and explained to them that a mistake had been made, and I was not a patient of their's and didn't owe them any money Revere Health was very professional and helpful I went to Mountain Land Collection Agency again to make sure that the matter was settled I was told that it would be cleared up, and would not be on my record I just got my credit report, and this is still on there These people are not only rude and unprofessional, they are liars, and totally incompetent Don't do business with these is

I have been religious about making on-time payments for all of my bills, everything has been up to date for a long time until recently my credit started going down significantly each monthI looked into it and Mountain Land Collections decided now to hit me with medical bills from 2011-I know that these were paid in the first placeI was not until and somehow I still got these bills from when I was a minorAbout a year and a half ago I had a bill with them for $I didn't even bother with questioning if it was paid before because I just wanted my balance at zeroThey verified that everything was paid when I paid that billNow they are hitting me with three more that I never heard anything about, I never knew I owed themAll bills that we got in the mail from my medical services were paid as soon as they came inI feel that these charges are fraudulent in the fact that they should have sent me notice of anything like this years ago

Dear Ms***, We are working directly with our client to verify this payment. We will request this item be removed this item from your credit report while we continue our research. Thank you for providing the information requested. Sincerely, Cathi M***Mountain
