Mountain Land Collection Agency Reviews (87)

Mountain Land Collections Incsent me a unitemized collections bill for a total of $933.80, requested by client: Emergency Physicians Integrated Care (EPIC)I hadn't heard of EPIC, though after research, I found one or some of their physicians are located in a StMarks hospital, which I had visited for a medical emergency in That is the only connection I have to EPICKnowing that my bill for that visit had already been paid for, I decided to investigate into the collections notice furtherAfter visiting Mountain Land Collections Inc.'s website, I knew something was wrongThe "Pay my bill" page asks for credit card information and contact information immediately, before allowing the user to see any information about the collectionMost online payments require you add an account number so you may see your claim or bill, and THEN you decided when, what, and how, you will payI decided not to enter any informationUpon further research of the company's reviews, I found that

First off I will say we definitely had some medical accounts that we couldn't pay and they deserved to be sent to collections so there's no debating that Last summer we started a debt settlement program and entered all accounts we had into the program so that we could get things paid off I used letters, statements, and our credit reports to pull all accounts, especially collection accounts We had different places that had sent our accounts to collections through Mountain Land The company we have been using to help us get our debt paid off started working with Mountain Land to negotiate a settlement for the accounts they'd been hired to collect on As things were going along and the negotiations were taking place we received a summons to court about those accounts Even as this happened Mountain Land and our debt relief company came to a settlement on the accounts I sent the summons to our debt company and they were confused as well because their negotiators had worked

Dear Revdex.com,Mountain Land Collections, Inchas not reported on Mr***'s credit any debt that was incurred prior to age 18. Any account that is placed on his credit has been reviewed and meets all requirements for reporting. However, as a courtesy and because Mr***
does state that he did not receive the notices we sent to him, we will request this account be removed from his credit as soon as it is resolved.Mr*** can continue to contact the Law Office of Quinn MKofford at ###-###-#### with any further questions.Thank you,Cathi M***Mountain Land Collections, Inc

I never received a letter from this company regarding a collection on my accountI found out about it when it showed up on my credit reportI called the medical office that it came from to find out what it was for and discovered that they had the wrong address which is why I wasn't receiving the medical bill in the first placeHowever, since it was already in collections I had to call themI called, they sent me to their attorney's voice mailI left a message there and didn't hear backI called back a couple months later to find out they had left me messages, but never followed up as it was during school hours and I don't answer calls when they don't identify who they are, and they admitted that the letter they sent out only once in March looks like junk mailYet, they never follow up to see if anyone actually gets the notice or the voice mails they leave and assume that people are getting themThen they charge monthly fees whether you know about it or notThen they are very rude and state that they don't send out monthly notices ever and assume that you are going to pay without getting a notice even if they haven't confirmed that you know about itHow can anyone pay if they don't know about it, let alone where, or how, etcIt is very frustrating when one is trying hard, and being a teacher who has several other medical bills, yet trying to keep caught up on it all to get this from a company that should be trying to work out terms of repayment rather than saying you only have one option: pay in full when you may not have the moneyIt is ridiculousThey and their lawyers really need a course in best practicesIf sending out a notice like this it should be signed certified by the recipient to ensure they have received it, adequately labeled so not to be mistaken as junk mail and thrown out, and then followed up on courteously to help people pay rather than discourage any payment whatsoever

This showed up on my credit in May, but was filed in DecemberI didn't even live in utah in decemberI haven't bought anything worth what they claim I owe and any outstanding medical bills were covered by my insuranceThis is a scam

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: It was previously explained to me that you are acting within the law to charge interestCan you tell me when your company notified me that they would be charging interest on my balance? Because I do not recall being contacted and legal or not, I don't think that is fair practiceI called twice intending to pay my balance, was treated poorly, and I do not feel as though the people that I was speaking with were willing to work with me, even threatening to hang up on me for no apparent reasonI would like you to accept my $payment as payment in full for my accounts and if that will not suffice, I would like you to call me and let me know what you can doWhen I asked to pay $over the phone and have the convenience charge waived, I was told that they would not do that and provided me with the mailing address where I could mail my payment(Note: It is in poor taste to reply to a customer in caps as if you are "yelling" at them.)
Sincerely,

I wrote in over a year ago with a complaint that this company billed me two times for the same bill and I ended up paying twice and it took them months and months to refund meI'm pretty sure there is only one man working there who speaks slow and is as rude as h***I finally got refunded, only to be sent more billsI finally made them send me a letter in writing that all was paid off and told them to NEVER contact me againAnd now a year later, I am getting another notice for THE SAME BILL I HAVE ALREADY PAID AND THEY HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN ME A LETTER SAYING I PAIDThey must be a scamThey kept me from getting a loan a year ago because of all of this

In October 2015, my daughter and I were involved in an auto accidentTwo different insurance companies were involved in paying the medical bills and were really great to work withAny bills I received in the mail were sent to the ins co and promptly paidMarch 22, 2016, I received a bill from Mountain Land Collections for the ambulanceNever at any time had I received a bill or a phone call from the ambulance serviceI called MLC immediately and sent the bill to the ins coThe adjuster was diligent, although he found MLC difficult to work withHe was then told he could not pay the bill because of HIPAA LawsSo he said he was going to send me a check for the full amount to pay directlyThe letter from MLC was dated 3/15/and said I had days to resolve itToday is 4/8/and I just received notice that they reported me to collections on 3/31/I called and they denied reporting it and told me I would have to take it up with the credit bureaus, as they had nothing to do w

I am rejecting this response because: I thank the Revdex.com for investigating this and help getting a response from Mountain Land. You can close this case. I am rejecting mountain Lands answer because they did not validate the debit BEFORE putting false, inaccurate and negative entries on my credit report as required by the FCRA rules. The damage has been done because it will take months if not years to return my credit score and report to what it was before placing the information on my report. I have already filled a civil action against Mountain land Collections because my credit has been severely damaged by them. Again I thank you (Revdex.com) so very, very much.
Sincerely,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The only problem is it has been going on since I called them on 10/02/15 when they made the same promise. Also this is adding interest to what they said is owed and I feel till this is resolved, they should not being adding interest to the case. I do appreciate it not being put on my credit report and want to get this resolved. I also called Johnathan at Central Utah Clinic and they are sending me a complete copy back to March and will highlight anything I have missed and what might be left. Also they will highlight all my payments which should total the $285.00 that is showing paid by my Bank.
Sincerely,

Based upon a review of the recorded phone call on February 2, 2017 at 12:08 p.m., and our detailed notations, we do not feel that this is a factual representation of the conversation or efforts with this consumer.  There was no termination of a phone call, the call ended with our employee...

saying "Thank you" and Mr. [redacted] replying "Yeah".  In this conversation, Mr. [redacted] instructs Mountain Land Collections to no longer contact him by phone, and promises to send in payments of $50 per month on his account.   No payments were received and we were restricted from contacting Mr. [redacted] to inquire as to why he failed to make payments due to his request  that no further phone calls be made to his number.  The account was then forwarded to our attorney for failure to make agreed upon payments.  As of May 30th , 2017, when our attorney’s office served Mr. [redacted] with a legal document for failure to make payments, still, no payments had been received.   Mr. [redacted] indicates in his complaint that interest is being charged at a rate of 100% which is not an accurate statement.  Interest is being charged at a rate of 10%.  On June 8, 2017, Mr. [redacted] contacted our attorney’s office and has again agreed to a monthly payment plan to avoid further legal action on his account.  Please let me know if any further information is required to resolve this complaint.  Cathi M[redacted]Director of OperationsMountain Land Collections, Inc.

We have reviewed the complaint submitted by Mr[redacted]. Validation of the debt was sent to this consumer on 8-24-indicating amount owed, patient name, service provider, etc.. However, due to the dispute on the account, we did request that the account be removed from his credit
on 8-15-15. Mountain Land will submit a second manual request to have the account removed from his credit report today as a courtesy to Mr[redacted], and a copy will be mailed to his address in Georgia. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions.Thank you,

Dear Revdex.com:We are sorry Ms. [redacted] feels like she has been overcharged.  She has not been.  Importantly Ms. [redacted] is represented by an attorney who has been working with our attorney’s office.  Perhaps Ms. [redacted] should address her questions and confusions to...

her legal counsel who may then interact with our attorney.   Alternatively, Ms. [redacted] may contact our attorney’s office directly as long as she is no longer represented by her attorney and is willing to expressly state as such. Sincerely,Cathi M[redacted]Director of OperationsMountain Land Collections, Inc.801-642-0900

my attorneys have tried to work with your attorneys several times. They have been told I have six account with mountain land collection.  I have three. When the charges are shown for the "6" accounts three are exact duplicates of the original three. Further more when my attorneys even try to discuss all six accounts they have been asked to get a hipaa waiver to even be able to talk about the additional the accounts. When I signed up for the debt prices thigh which my attorneys work there were only three mountains collection accounts all together. Mountain lands attorney told my attorneys that I hadn't been honest with them in my disclosure of how many accounts I had when I signed up. The credit reports I pulled from all three bureaus at the time I signed up for the services also show only three accounts. I'm not against paying what I owe but duplicating accounts to make it so I have to pay double is ridiculous. I had and still have no reason to be dishonest is disclosing my debts to my debt help company because I'm trying to take care of them all. It would only hurt me to not disclose them and it wouldn't make the work I'm doing worth it.The vague answers and snooty replies show the difficulty in working with mountain land.
