Muscular Moving Men Reviews (89)

Muscular Moving was professional, efficient, and reasonably priced. They were on time and were pleasant to work with. The actual costs were right on target with the estimate. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the Phoenix area looking for a good moving company.

ON 2/14/15(VISA)This charge has also already been disputed thru the customers merchant company and they've refused to file the chargeback and deemed all charges valid. I am shocked to see a Revdex.com complaint given that Mr. [redacted] and I have went over all job information and it has been made clear though a transparent and detailed breakdown of charges that everything in the above dispute has been made available to show that there was no wrongdoing whatsoever as it pertains to Muscular Moving Men.
Sincerely,

Relocation Specialist
Muscular Moving Men, LLC.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
As mentioned in my complaint I was aware of the additional charge for shuttle fees and didn’t want to pay them but would if I needed too. My main issues are the following:

I provided my address and location prior to my belongings leaving Arizona and called in and explained my concerns about the driveway. If the moving company would have done their due diligence and researched we could’ve seen that a shuttle was needed and arranged it in advance. Furthermore, they would have seen that a shuttle was not possible due the location of the home as I was informed by the drivers.
The statement, “We advised Ms. [redacted] at that point we would have to off load the items from the tractor/trailer onto a smaller truck and she declined this service”. is simply not true. In fact, I was informed that I was the last load on the truck and they had to stick to a schedule. The nearest place to shuttle from was over 6 miles away, and due to it being a Sunday there was no shuttle available. I was scrambling for solutions and believe me, if I could have paid an extra fee up front to have all of my belongings, I would have because in the long run it is costing me more.
I understand that my father did not have to assist at the storage unit and its unfortunate that your labor did not show up, however, if they were able to unload at the house, it would have been extremely difficult to go up and down steps with mattresses, couches, etc. with only one person. Either way, it needed to be resolved. Again, this was not the expectation of service I expected and there was no dolly, ramp, or other equipment on the truck.
I choice this company based off and A+ rating with the Revdex.com. This experience was not A+ and I would appreciate if you would take accountability. I am not looking to make money off this situation. I am a hard working single mother who needed help moving because I couldn’t do it myself. I placed the fee for this move on two different credit cards. I wasn’t expecting to have to hire additional movers after the fact or pay storage. I would like to be compensated the extra expenses as a result of the moving companies lack of preparation, planning, and labor that was needed to successfully complete this job. That is the fair, honest, and right thing to do.

Regards,

I have used MMM twice now and have been extremely happy both times. The most recent move was on a hot August day, but that didn't slow down Anthony and James. They wrapped my items quickly and with care and had my three-stop move done in record time. Even a bit of rain and dust didn't slow them down.

I was very pleased with their work ethic and will hire MMM again.

I was very happy with my experience with Muscular Moving Co. Moving is always a hassle no matter how big or small a move. Muscular Moving Co. allowed the move to be timely and efficient. The staff was very friendly and informative.

Our move went very smoothly, thanks to the 3 guys who moved us. We had a big move, with a lot of heavy furniture and awkward stairs. These guys worked hard the entire time and did a great job!!

I have used Muscular Moving Comapny 3 times in the past 2 years...once for my personal move and twice for my parents. I highly recommend this company, as all of the movers were highly experienced, courteous and very careful when loading all items. Every move that I have used them

for was flawless and not one ounce of stress was to be had. Communication from the main office was impeccable and so was the follow. Their prices are very reasonable. I rate this moving company 5 stars.

Listing a schedule of charges and stating they are correct without a full breakdown of the charges at the time the card is billed is unacceptable. They told me here is what we  billed and here is a list of the packing supllies you have been billed for. This however was done after my card was charged and after the move was completed. I had no opportunity to determine if the supplies they say I was provided is accurate. The bank was unable to proceed with a refund as by law they cannot refund based on a charge being made without our permission. It had nothing to with whether the charges were correct or not.
In addition they have still not addressed how their estimate could be 40% to low based on the final charges. It wins them the business basd on their estimate and elimanetes the competition who estimates were higher and probably more accurate.
Thanks

I am a retired Air Force pilot. As such, our family moved over 25 times. My wife and I both agree. The Muscular Moving Men were the best packers we have ever had. All of our household goods were well protected with packing paper and all of our furniture (dressers, cabinets, overstuffed chairs, & couches) was padded and then shrink wrapped. All of the Muscular Moving Men packers were courteous and friendly--showed up on time and worked hard.

The three men worked extremely hard on a very big job for us. It was very hot out and what we had originally thought was a small job turned into a very big one. They stayed longer than they were originally supposed to and were very cooperative and hard working.

I am a real estate professional and have recommended MMM numerous. Sharp, clean-cut and professional, my clients have always been extremely happy. I recently had a deal where the Seller had serious medical issues and needed to sell their home. They had almost no equity so I sold the home for free, and MMM packed and loaded their truck for FREE! They had a full crew there for 8 hours.

James and Jordan moved me on Monday. They arrived on time, were well organized and moved me without any breakage. I would definitely use Muscular Moving Men again.

I have asked our legal counsel to review the Muscular Moving Men, LLC agreement.  It is clear that ISN elected to purchase at an additional cost  the Full Value Protection Plan which affords [redacted] “Full Value” in the amount of $10,000 with a $500 deductible.  This choice was made after a discussion whereby we elected to pay for additional coverage with an understanding of the value of the property we were asking to be moved.  Therefore, the $0.60 per pound per article provision does not apply to this loss.  Additionally, one of the movers actually commented to me that he noted that a box was missing when unpacking the closet area.  Therefore, based on the value of the boxed items coupled with our election of the full value protection, we are due the full amount of the value of the items less our deductible of $500 or $4500.00.   We are so confident in our valuation of the property, as well as the clear loss that occurred while “the carrier in possession” who is responsible for physical loss of any articles, that we shall pursue all legal avenues if this is not settled to our satisfaction.

To Whom It May Concern,This response is in reference to the submission by [redacted]. Let me start by apologizing for the inconvenience of the way the situation played out. After researching the circumstances of the move and speaking with the sales manager that worked with Ms. [redacted]...

we discovered a few things. Ms. [redacted] was made aware in advance that in the event that a shuttle was needed there would be additional fees. There are certain areas that a tractor/trailer cannot fit and this was one of those situations. Our driver advised that we would arrive at the unload to visually inspect and verify this was the case and unfortunately it was. We advised Ms. [redacted] at that point we would have to off load the items from the tractor/trailer onto a smaller truck and she declined this service. Instead, we all came to the decision to take the items to a nearby storage that could accommodate the large vehicle. When we arrived, the labor assistance our company arranged for our driver was a no show and left our driver high and dry. We worked tirelessly to find replacement labor and would have had workers arrive a few hours later. Rather than wait for the delayed labor help the decision was made by our driver and the customer to unload the items sooner. I again apologize for the inconvenience of the way this played out and certainly it was our fault that our labor assistance did not show up initially at the unload. There is no refunding that we are able to provide as a result of this. The best course of action had Ms. [redacted] informed us she was expecting compensation would have been for all parties to wait for the delayed labor assistance to save the strain it placed on her father. We cannot be held responsible for the requirement of a shuttle as it was discussed that this may be a possibility at the destination. Thank you for taking the time to read this response.Respectfully,[redacted]Muscular Moving Men

I moved in 2011 and used Muscular Moving Men. I had an outstanding experience which is why when I moved this month, Muscular Moving Men was the only company I called. The movers came and spent 1 hour trying to take a bunk bed apart. After an hour of making no progress with the bed and seeing me frustrated, the movers then started moving the rest of the furniture. Once all furniture was in the truck, the movers went back to the bunk bed. After spending 30 minutes trying to take apart the bunk bed, I asked them to call their company because I was paying by the hour. The movers called their manager [redacted] and was told the pieces were likely tripped and they were not able to move the bed. I said okay but I was quite annoyed that the movers could not tell on their own that the bed was stripped and they could not move the bed. I call and ask to speak to [redacted] and was told [redacted] would call me back. Once we arrived at the new home, the move went well until I noticed to large holes in my beautiful hallway wall and a large scratch. I pointed this out to a mover and he said this must have happened when he moved the dresser. I called [redacted] again. I was told [redacted] would call me back. When it was time to pay, I called [redacted] again and spoke with [redacted]. I explained the time spent on the bunk bed and [redacted] reply was, "you mean to tell me they spent 1 1/2 hours on a bunk bed." I stated yes and [redacted] stated he would call the movers. The movers went outside and came back with the forms for me to sign again regarding payment. I asked if [redacted] spoke to them and they said yes which was why there was a 15 minute downtime. I called [redacted] back and explained the movers took a total of 1 1/2 hours trying to take a bunk bed apart that they were note able to move. [redacted] denied the 1 1/2 downtime. I asked to speak with his supervisor. [redacted] relayed he was the manager. I again asked to speak with his supervisor. [redacted] relayed the next person in charge was the owner [redacted]. I said I would like to speak with [redacted] relayed he was off and I could email the company. I asked [redacted] about damage down to my wall. [redacted] relayed I could complete a damage claim form. I completed the damage claim form and have not receive a call or a response. I never emailed [redacted] because I feel that [redacted] should have been told about the matter and should have called me. I did not wish to be spoken to like [redacted] spoke to me. I am highly disappointed in Muscular Moving Men and I will never use their services again. I actually recommended Muscular Moving Men to friends in the past but I will not do so anymore. I suggest using another company as this company is not what it used to be.

This was the best moving experience we have ever had. The 4 men that packed and moved our possessions were incredibly pleasant, professional and careful; not only with the goods but with the walls of our home.Despite the fact that we were being billed on an hourly basis, the young men moved at an incredibly fast rate, both in the packing phase and in the move itself from our prior home to our new home. I would highly recommend Muscular Moving Men to everyone and anyone who has a local move in the Phoenix area.

This was my 3rd move with this company in 3 years Jimmy and crew Charlie, Rick and Corey could not have been better. These guys worked fast and efficiently and took care of each item as if it was their own. Clean, courteous, professional guys certainly handled all aspects of this move in extremely hot weather with ease. They made us feel comfortable and at ease with all aspects of the move. Highly recommend this company and have referred them to other friends. Hopefully we are settled for awhile. These guys made a stressful time easy

We have used this company for all of our 4 moves in the last 3 years. They were reasonable and efficient. Scheduling and paperwork were easy.

Muscular Moving Men is one hard working "team of gentlemen" and just came through for us again, for the third time! We've been impressed since Day 1 with this company's ethics, reliability, and overall performance. Key with each of the three separate moves MMM accomplished for us was having good communication before and during the process-- especially as we just moved between three different residential properties and a storage facility, on a 105 degree Arizona day; didn't phase these guys. Let's just say it was a JOB; done right, done well, on schedule, and without damage! Priceless!!

Review: Muscular Moving Men employees broke my desk and the company has attempted to shirk responsibility for fixing the desk or compensating me for its value ($60). The company's employees broke my desk by wrapping its legs extremely tight with shrink wrap, which caused them to break off. After breaking the desk, a company employee assessed the damage and stated that the company would either find the screw required to fix the desk OR replace the desk if the company could not find the screw. Taking the employee at his word, I filed a damage claim with the company, attached pictures of the broken desk and screws, and requested that the company fix the desk or send a check for its full value.Instead of staying true to its word, the company attempted to dodge all responsibility for breaking the desk. Contrary to what the employee told me, the company said that it would only fix the desk if I found the screw, or that it would compensate me with $0.60 per pound of the broken item ($9, or 1/6 of the desk's value). When I told the company that this was unacceptable, the company responded that it was technically not liable for my desk, pursuant to section 5 of the contract, because my desk was "not designed to be moved." However, section 5 of the contract deals with "special documents," not furniture. Therefore, the company either deliberately attempted to mislead me by referring to the fine print of its contract, or its agents are ignorant about what is in the contract. Even if the contract had a clause stating that the company is not liable for damage to my desk, they would still be liable for the damage because I never would have consented to the company moving an item that was not covered by insurance. In fact, they should have known this because I explicitly told the movers not to move my TV when they told me insurance didn't cover it. In the end, all I want is for Muscular Moving Men to compensate me fairly for my loss and follow through on its word. So far, the company has been unwilling to do this.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to follow through on what its employee promised by either a) finding the screw needed to fix my desk OR b) paying me $60, the value of the desk. Given the fact that a company representative stated that fixing the desk will "cost much more than the $9.00 in coverage," the easiest solution for everyone would be for the company to mail me a $60 check. The company has mailed me a check for $9, but I have not cashed it because I will not accept 1/6 the value of my property.

Response:

To Whom this may concern,We are writing this letter in regards to complaint ID#: [redacted]. We feel we have dealt with this customer accordingly. The customer sent in a damage claim in regards to a 15 pound desk the customer had purchased from [redacted]. We have attached the order for service signed by the customer, and highlighted section 5 of the document which states that we are not liable for "Ready to Assemble" furniture such as this item that is not intended to be transported after initial assembly. We also informed this customer of the valuation option he received which is highlighted on the signed credit card authorization attached above. This valuation coverage offered to Mr. [redacted] is based at sixty cents per pound. Because his item is 15lbs it amounts to $9.00. We also offered to send someone out and re-assemble a new desk for Mr. [redacted] once he had the correct hardware to do so. In addition, we have also sent a check in the amount of the reimbursement according to his coverage. At this time we feel we have done everything in our power in order to rectify this issue with Mr. [redacted].Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

First of all, the contract that Muscular Moving Men attached to its complaint is NOT the contract that I received on the day they broke the desk; it is the contract I signed the day the desk was returned, already broken, in June. I have attached my copy of the contract that we signed on 5/12/2015, the date the desk was broken, and highlighted section 5 (SPECIAL DOCUMENTS). I would like to see how the company responds to this discrepancy. Second, the company fails to acknowledge the main point of my complaint. Specifically, they fail to acknowledge the assurances that their agent, [redacted], made when the other movers broke the desk. He explicitly stated that THE COMPANY would find the required screw and fix the desk, or that they would REPLACE THE DESK. Either of these actions would resolve the problem, but instead the company that we paid over $1000 for a move continues to haggle over a maximum of $60. Third, as I stated in my initial complaint, I have not cashed the $9.00 check the company sent to me. Their response shows that they clearly fail to understand the fact that I will not accept $9.00 as a replacement for my desk. Finally, it is insulting that the company cannot even type my name correctly in its response. That is a perfect illustration of their poor customer service, which was the main motivation for my complaint in the first place. If they had any regard for their customers, and if they wanted to have repeat customers, they would follow through on what their agents promise. That is all I'm asking: either find the screw and fix the desk OR send me $60. If the company continues to dodge responsibility for its actions, I will not hesitate to contact our attorney and begin legal proceedings.

Regards,

Response:

To Whom It May Concern,I was the individual in direct contact with Mr. [redacted] during the claims process. The customer was advised on multiple occasions that our coverage provided at no additional charge was sixty cents per pound per article. There are higher levels of coverage for replacement value available which is explained in the order for service sent out at the time the reservation is made for the move. The sixty cents per pound per article coverage was expected per the non purchase of higher coverage. There is no deductible required and in the event that a customer needs to submit a damage claim we immediately send the necessary claim form requesting a description of the damage, a description of the item and a weight deceleration for the item. Mr. [redacted]s claim was promptly responded to when it was received and rather than simply provide a check reimbursement based on the 10lb weight deceleration the customer provided (which would equal $6) we attempted to gain more information on the item including a manufacturer and location of purchase. At no point did Mr, [redacted] provide the requested information and demanded a new desk regardless of the coverage he received. Multiple attempts were made including requesting Mr. [redacted] either find the replacement hardware himself or provides the necessary manufacturer and model information so that we may resolve the matter. That ship has since sailed and at this point we have issued Mr. [redacted] his check based on the weight that he indicated on his claim form. Respectfully,[redacted]Muscular Moving Men
