Review: [redacted] of Muscular Moving Men offered to pay 1/2 of the charges for correct and proper reassembly of our wall unit master bed frame from [redacted] Bedding and hook-up of air system of the mattress from [redacted] Bedding. Their half of these charges have not beet sent to us. I hand delivered copies of the bills we had paid ([redacted] Bedding $170 and [redacted] $65) to their offices on [redacted].
I also had a problem with the way my clothing was packed for storage and delivery. Wardrobe boxes were used, but clothing was folded over and over - then stacked piles upon piles until boxes were filled. Majority of my dress and work clothing were extremely wrinkled having been packed in such a non-professional manner. Every moving company I had employed in the past used the wardrobe boxes for hanging the clothing.Desired Settlement: We want a check for their half of the set-up charges as outlined.
Additionally I would want them to be responsible for the cleaning and pressing of my dress suits, Sport Coat, and slacks.

To Whom it May Concern,We have provided prompt and timely responses to all of [redacted] s concerns including the issues he addressed above. A check was mailed out to [redacted] for partial reimbursement on having the electrical components to his bed hooked back up and is check number [redacted]. We advise all of our customers in writing that they sign acknowledgment of that our team has a basic understanding of minor dis assembly and re-assembly and are not experts in air beds, electrical and lighting components, etc. With regard to the wrinkled nature of his clothing after a move- we have continuously advised [redacted] that our damage claim department has never and will never issue any form of reimbursement to press clothing after a move. We have adhered to all parts of our contract and will not be offering any further resolution for [redacted] at this point. We thank you for your consideration in this matter.Respectfully,[redacted] Muscular Moving Men

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. No check has been received to date (10/7/2013).

In today’s mail we received a check for $100, not $117.50 that was outlined and expected. Check #[redacted] dated 9/29/2013. There is a much greater problem than that. The check is non-negotiable because it is not signed. This seems to me to be a pretty much standard of their business. I have used professional moving company’s to move from Phoenix to Southern California; Southern California to Columbus, Ohio;Columbus back to Phoenix. Then myself from Phoenix to Southern California and my fiancée from Houston, TX to Southern California. Finally, we moved from Southern California back to Phoenix.I am no stranger to how moving company’s operate and pack.Muscular Moving Men originally came and did not have sufficient boxes or packing material. This was also true on day two. They even used our tape to seal up the boxes. On day two they had to take the trucks back to the warehouse and unload and come back for an additional load. In addition while doing the final packing they came across several cupboards in the kitchen that were not packed. These were then packed using their blankets. My prior experiences in moving, the company always hung my clothing in the wardrobe boxes – they never folded over and over and stacked one on top of another. That is my basis of complaint regarding the clothing. Thank you for your assistance. [redacted] E.

Response:
As previously stated via email to [redacted] directly several times and in the initial response here through the Revdex.com a check was issued to pay for partial reimbursement for reconnecting electrical and inflating his airbed by specialists. A check number was provided previously and the check was dated fro 9-29. We have been more than accommodating when attempting to resolve [redacted] s issues. The check was mailed out 9-29 and if [redacted] has not received it at 10752 W. RUNION DR., SUN CITY, AZ 85373 then he should contact his post office to find out if there is an issue with his mail service.Respectfully,[redacted]Muscular Moving Men

Response:
A new check will be issued for the same amount as last time upon receipt of the unsigned check in our possession, (ailing address once again listed below). In light of the struggle to resolve this matter with [redacted] and his continued requests to have clothing pressed and other matters resolved that is not the responsibility of our company, we have to ensure that this check is not attempted to be cashed first then we will issue a correct and proper signed check. Sorry again for the inconvenience and we will await its return to our office. At this point there has been dozens of back and forth emails and we really cannot invest any more administrative hours into this matter. If [redacted] is unwilling to return the signed check and then have a new check issued we will simply close this matter without any further restitution. We do not need any further response back from [redacted] that requires additional time or emails to be sent and we will one again await the unsigned check to be returned to our office.Respectfully,[redacted]Muscular Moving Men

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
They offered in an E-mail from [redacted] $117.50 (1/2 of the charges from [redacted] and [redacted] Bedding) and are now wanting me to accept less than that E-mail offer. My belief is that an ethical organization would honor what had been put into a written E-mail from [redacted]. I really want them to do what is right based upon their offer.I am very discouraged by their lack of cooperation in resolving this matter. My losses have far exceeded this amount. One should not make an offer if you are unwilling to fullfill it. Please do what is right, moral, ethical, and honorable and honor you offer.

Used this moving company without knowing much about them and they were great! The two young guys that moved me were professional, quick and courteous. I was very happy with the move and how smoothly it went.
These guys are the best-I have used them twice! Also referred on to other people. They are fast, professional, friendly! Great service! They wrap everything in plastic and blankets! Moved all my furniture and had it in place in 4 hours!
Muscular Moving Men did a fantastic job. Not only were the workers skilled, competent and on time, they were also very personable and friendly. I would definitely hire them again.
Professional, courteous and friendly service. The guys were on time, quick, careful with our furniture and very personable. All around, just a wonderful experience.
Review: I went with Muscular Moving Men, LLC, because I used them one other time to move and the experience was amazing. This time was the exact opposite and I am extremely dissatisfied. I made sure to have a 5 gallon container of water available to the movers, order lunch for them, and gave them a $100.00 tip when the job was completed, so I thought. Then in return what I received was, they did not take the support beams for my queen bed off the truck and it took them two weeks to get them delivered to me. Also, one of our dining room chairs was broken in the move, so I filled out a claim form, because that is the companies policy to get the problem resolved. I was told that they will only be giving me $4.20 for the chair and that is not even close to the value of the chair. Again, I am extremely dissatisfied and upset and would like some kind of resolution.Desired Settlement: I would like the chair repaired and some kind of partial reimbursement for services, because of all the problems that occurred.

To Whom it May Concern,This message is in response to the complaint filed by [redacted]. With regard to the generosity shown by our customer towards the crew during the move- We are sure they are extremely grateful for everything provided by [redacted] in terms of water, food, gratuity, etc however this does not really have any bearing on the service that we provide. Our team exhibits the safest possible moving procedures and pads/shrink wraps all items as part of our service at no additional charge. A cross bar that attaches the legs on a chair owned by [redacted] has a split and we received a completed damage claim form from her. Our damage claims department handled the claim and promptly provided a resolution via email. Our basic liability coverage that is provided at no additional charge is based on weight and is calculated at $0.60/lb. [redacted] indicated the weight of the chair to be 7lbs which is why the reimbursement is in the amount of $4.20. There is a huge amount of risk involved in a move and the minor damage to the chair seemed to definitely be something that is repairable. [redacted] and all of our customers always have the right to purchase replacement insurance coverage through a 3rd party carrier of their choosing and we always refer a company called [redacted] just so they have the option. That being said, had [redacted] decided to purchase replacement coverage for her move she would have had to pay an upfront fee ranging from $250-$1000 and pay a deductible at the time she filed a claim. She has not had to pay any fees for our basic liability coverage and I can guarantee the amount of diligence and attention to detail that our teams put in when moving items is vastly superior to any other moving company out there. We are sorry to see that she is not pleased with the result however we have followed the terms of the agreement on our move to the letter. Our crew must have done something right during the course of the move that warranted a gratuity as it is not typical for this to take place when a customer is dissatisfied with our service. There is nothing further we can do at this point and we appreciate the opportunity to provide a response to this issue.Respectfully,[redacted]Muscular Moving Men

Response:
The reason a tip was given was because we did not realize the problems until they had already left otherwise NOTHING would have been given. I can not believe this is how you treat your customers, no one showed that they even cared that they had not taken the support beams to our bed off the truck or that it took TWO WEEKS for them to be delivered. I will just make sure I NEVER use this company again and that everyone I know that needs a moving company, knows of my experience. In fact maybe 3 on your side might want to know of this experience, you never know.

Response:
Hi [redacted],I certainly understand that all you want as a customer is to have all of your items intact as they were prior to the move and there at no time as malicious intent in either a broken piece to your chair or bringing your bed supports out to you at a later date. When we tightly pack items into our moving trucks we take every precaution in padding/wrapping and in the event that a damage occurs we send a damage claim form out in a timely manner and get you a resolution based on our agreement. We fulfilled every step of our contract by providing reimbursement in the amount tendered and I have mentioned several times that you are always welcome to purchase replacement coverage through any carrier you choose and you never have to accept the basic liability coverage that we provide. Every item you have for the most part is worth more than the cost of the move and we always make it very clear in our emails, contracts, conversations, etc that this is the standard coverage. Again, you have to pay a very large sum of money to purchase replacement coverage and pay again when you file a claim. You have received the lowest pricing possible to receive our basic coverage and I absolutely believe you have come out ahead with the very minor damage that occurred as you would have paid well above and beyond the cost of your move to purchase extra coverage. I am sorry you feel you need to call TV outlets to investigate this matter but we would certainly welcome the opportunity to speak with them and again explain how the process works. Thanks again for your business. [redacted]Muscular Moving Men
Review: I had the moving men move us. They left behind several things like a grand father clock, dresser mirror and a headboard in king. We had to pay someone to move them on top of what we paid them. The scratched the walls through out the house but I told them I would take care of that but they broke a piece of tile on the step down to the living room. I was sitting right there when it happened. They say sorry but they won't fix it.Desired Settlement: I want them to fix the tile.

To Whom it May Concern,
It is never the goal of our company to leave a customer any less than totally satisfied with their moving experience. Our crews pad/shrink wrap the majority of all items that are handled and this helps ensure that the items and the surroundings are as safe as possible during the move. Unfortunately there are situations where because walkways are narrow, stairways are tight, etc that causes additional inherent risk of damage to the item being moved or the surrounding areas. In section 12 of our moving service agreement which our customer has a copy of it directly addresses issues with scrapes, cracks, dings, etc to walls, floors, stairways, etc. Because of the huge amount of inherent risk involved with moving ones large and heavy furniture and not knowing the condition of tile prior to the move commencing, we are unable to accept liability for a tile crack. Section 12 is very clear and our customer did sign and agree to these terms on the day of the move. Our crew always completes a walk through at the commencement and completion of each move and we move all items requested by our customers within the scope of normal safety procedures. I am sorry to hear our customer felt the service was unsatisfactory but there is unfortunately not much else we can do regarding the interior issues of the pick up or drop off location due to section 12 which addresses the inherent risk the customer takes when having large and extremely heavy items moved within the premises. We appreciate her business and appreciate her allowing us the opportunity to have completed her move. Thank you for your attention in this matter and I would be happy to furnish an additional copy of the service agreement should she need one. There is one attached to this response.
Respectfully,
Muscular Moving Men
Review: This firm, billed a credit card on file without providing detailed billing information or requesting/advising us the card was going to be charged. Following several e-mail communications they have now provided a detailed breakdown of charges. I have advised them based open the charges that they have overbilled us by approximately $750. I have only received a response that they believe the charges are correct.
In addition they clearly underestimated their original quote to move us. We showed the representative everything that needed to be packed and moved. Opened all cabinets and drawers for him to evaluate moving costs. Their final bill was almost 40% higher than their estimate. Based on their estimate we selected them and rejected other bids that were higher.Desired Settlement: I would like the overbilled amount refunded to us.

ON 2/14/15(VISA)This charge has also already been disputed thru the customers merchant company and they've refused to file the chargeback and deemed all charges valid. I am shocked to see a Revdex.com complaint given that Mr. [redacted] and I have went over all job information and it has been made clear though a transparent and detailed breakdown of charges that everything in the above dispute has been made available to show that there was no wrongdoing whatsoever as it pertains to Muscular Moving Men. Sincerely, [redacted]Relocation SpecialistMuscular Moving Men, LLC.

Response:
Listing a schedule of charges and stating they are correct without a full breakdown of the charges at the time the card is billed is unacceptable. They told me here is what we billed and here is a list of the packing supllies you have been billed for. This however was done after my card was charged and after the move was completed. I had no opportunity to determine if the supplies they say I was provided is accurate. The bank was unable to proceed with a refund as by law they cannot refund based on a charge being made without our permission. It had nothing to with whether the charges were correct or not.In addition they have still not addressed how their estimate could be 40% to low based on the final charges. It wins them the business basd on their estimate and elimanetes the competition who estimates were higher and probably more accurate. Thanks

We set up numerous appointments to have supply delivered to the property and we waived every delivery charge for this customer ($35/EA). We have spent an excess amount of administrative time disputing these claims and quite frankly this process is beginning to cost us. We also went above what our company normally honors and assessed Mr. [redacted] a 15% discount as opposed to the usual 10% which ended up being close to $900 in savings. We have attempted on numerous occasions to show and explain to Mr. [redacted] that all charges are proven and valid and all charges were indeed charged at the time that either 1) packing supplies were delivered, or 2) labor services were completed. The merchant company did indeed deem that all charges are valid and no credit was issued and no fraudulent charges were charged by our company. As it pertains to the original estimate, that actual time on the job did indeed exceed the original estimate but I assure you that we do not purposely underbid to win business. There are thousands of satisfied customers that can attest to this. This move in particular had very expensive, very heavy furniture which we did not want to rush and needed to properly and cautiously move these items to make sure and avoid damages and mishaps, to which was successful as the move went great and damage free. There were indeed more packing supplies than originally anticipated as to which happens occasionally when your dealing withe a property of that size, this was communicated with the customer in real time. This addresses all the issues disputed and we appreciate the business and the opportunity to move Mr. [redacted] and did everything we could to show him everything was valid and take care of him as a great customer. Respectfully Yours, [redacted]Relocation SpecialistMuscular Moving Men, LLC.
Do Not Use This Company. We hired this company for a long distance move based on the fact they would be providing their own crew and their own trucks. Our move cost over $10,000. Our things spent a month in storage. During this time they repacked our items in paper wrap. This was not the way it left my house. They rented [redacted] trucks to move our items. The guys delivering the belongings were going to be catching a plane after returning the rented trucks, so they spent no time putting our things together. Many of our items lost screws and I had to hire someone to help move and put things together for me. All of my items had damage due to the lack of proper blanket packaging. Four mirrors were totally destroyed and a 60" television was cracked and unusable. The insurance was a joke (.60 per pound for total loss). They wouldn't even pay for the television because it was not in the original packaging even though they altered the packing while in storage. It was extremely disappointing. Save yourself the trouble and use some one else.
