Review: I signed the contract for this service on 12/30/13. Account # [redacted] had worked full time for QBR Brake, INC (Stockton, Ca) since 1998.My employer was bought out in September, 2013 by [redacted].The new owners hired most of the full time (Plant) employees. The length of employment terms could only be approximated. The Brake Rebuilder businesswas a new industry for [redacted]. So, the assumption a range was from 6 to 12 months for staff which worked in Departments which would be duplicated (accounting, IT,etc)So, when I signed the Contract with OPP, I figured my full time employment with Revdex.com would last until july or August at least. All employees received the Plant closure notice on March 17,2014.The Stockton Plant closure is set for May 17,2014.==============================================================Therefore , May 17, 2014 is my retirement date from full-time employement. It was this notice that caused me start examining my monthly expenses and cut back where ever possible as soon as possible. This is when I discover, this contract with OPP is really too expensive (only 5 ) treatment visits for year .So, I contacted OPP, explained my situation and my need to cancel the contract. My first phone call was a total waste.. (a receptionist) as if cancelling a contract is entirely impossible. So, I composed a letter and mailed it to management (I have my letters on the computer and I would like you to have them before you contact this company).A Male responded to first letter (no name given).. we reached a point where we were actually discussing what my cancellation "penalty" would be.My contract is $33.00 per month $396 m plus $49.00. For a total of $445.00Currently I owe them $66.00 for 2014 monthly billing. The person whom I spoke with offered me a $259 contract cancellation out. This amount to $199.00 + 66.00 past dueI'm out of space. Letter attached. Thanks,[redacted]Desired Settlement: The $259 represents roughly 6 payments + $66.00I would settle for 3 payments + $66.00 $99.00 + $66.00 = $165.00. Their contract does not specifically explain or state how any Cancellation penalties are to be calculated. Their "legal" department overlooked this detail. Therefore I'm meeting them half way with my figure. And I'm not legally obligated to even do that ... It's not on the contract and I want a closing Invoice for $165.00 in my hands , before I pay anything

Response:

[redacted] signed a one year contract for pest control on 12-30-2014. On 4-24-2014 he called our office requesting to cancel the contract. We offered to accept smaller payments, we offered to have him pay 65% of the remaining balance, we offered to freeze his account until he can find employment or a way to pay the full amount, and we offered to have him transfer the service to someone else, however, Mr. [redacted] refused these options and so we are left with no choice but to refer his account to an outside agency for collection assistance and legal action. Any assistance your agency can provide toward the resolution of this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: A sales representative came to our door on 4/14/14 soliciting pest control services. At that time my mother and another care giver were home. My mother advised the representative that she does not read or speak English all that well since English is her second language. The representative ensured my mom that the service would be $33 per 3 months and did not mention any other fees or charges. The other care giver was present the entire time the representative was talking with my mother and can confirm the offer the representative was offering. The sales person was very misleading and did not make sure my mother fully understood the contract he was making her sign. I contacted the business and offered to settle the payment for the two visit but they refused anything but a full payment and carry out of the contract we were mislead into signing. Please contact me if you have any further question at ###-###-####Desired Settlement: I want to void/cancel the contract that I did not sign up for. I am willing to pay for the two (2) visit at $33 a visit.

Business

Response:

I spoke to the customer and offered to cancel the account prior to the year if they would just pay for the services rendered. This offer represents a significant loss for our company because of the expense involved in starting the account and because of the discount that the customer received in return for the one year commitment. The customer told me that they would think about the offer and call me back. Any assistance your agency can provide would be greatly appreciated. To date we have not received any payment at all for service rendered in May and August of 2014. The May service is over six months past due. Why has this customer not even paid the $33 that they claim each service was supposed to cost?

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: From the beginning I have been mislead by the sale representative and feel like they took advantage of my mother. After speaking with [redacted] from Official Pest Prevention, he offered to settle for $150.00 and I agreed to pay $125. [redacted] told me that he can not accept that offer and he will send me to collection.

Business

Response:

As to the customer's complaint. I'm not sure what else we are expected to do. The customer is disputing the contract price and amount, but she has not even paid the amount that is not disputed. She owes our company $426 ($234 rendered service plus $192 remaining contract amount). We agreed to reduce the amount owed to $150 which is less than the value of the service we have performed. I think that our offer was fair and that the customer is using your agency to squeeze us out of payment we are owed. What do you suggest we do?

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

I accept just because they treath me that I will be sent to collection. I don't want the trouble and I don't want to ruin my credit for some people that lied in my face and now they are making me a liar trying to squeeze money from them. that's really low. Thank you Revdex.com for the assistance. I hope that will stop lying and this is a lesson for both.

Review: I contacted official pest prevention to have service done on a home my niece was renting. When entering into contract I asked could it be monthly contract service. It was agreed and I had service done. However, a service agent came to service the home an additional month. The service was done at which point I informed in writing that I no longer needed the service and sent a letter cancelling the service. The service agent came out to service the home yet again which he was told the contract had been cancelled. No service was completed. I was recently contacted by a collection agency indicating a service unpaid and I owed over two hundred dollars. The collection agency could not have detail on the services that would allow me to pay. They did not have a bill and or documentation. I asked for the business name to call. When I contacted Official Pest Prevention they indicated that I defaulted on year contract. I stated I never had a year contract and in fact sent them a letter to cancel the service. Response was that even though I sent letter they service could continue as I had a year but they did cancel and only charged for the service they provided. The service they provided was not accurate has my niece informed the agent no work was to be done. I asked Pest Control prevention to furnish my documentation that I singed a year contract. They said they had no contract. They stated it could have been verbal. I again stated I had no contract and no agreement verbal or otherwise. At this time they are billing for services they did not perform. I respectfully request to have the Revdex.com look into this as I feel that paying for services not done and also not agreed to is not appropriate. Also the collection agency stated that they have been making attempts to contact me for payment which is not correct.Desired Settlement: Billed correctly and any report to credit agency be rescinded.

Business

Response:

Since receiving this complaint we have cancelled this account, removed all charges, and instructed the collection agency to remove any credit reporting items from the customer's credit history. The matter is closed.

Review: I had a 1 year contract with this company and the contract was done in January of 2015. They keep calling to schedule a spray and I called to cancel the service 4 months ago. Although they are saying per contract I need to right them a letter but I am not under contract anymore so they keep coming out and spraying even though I told them not to. Now I have a $168.00 bill and they said they will not come out anymore but I need to pay the bill and the service will resume. They just don't get it I do not want there service anymore!!! If I don't pay them they will send the account to collections. Another thing is I caught there Tech filling up his tanks with my water, when I confronted him on using my water his replay was his boss/owner said it's really nothing and saves him a trip from going back to the yard to re-fill. Now days that is not acceptable. They are acting like AOL remember them you can't get rid of them!!!!!Desired Settlement: Adjust the bill to zero balance and they stay off my property! If they send me to collections I expect a credit/check paid to me in the amount of $200.00 for stealing my water for over a year but I still want the service canceled.

Response:

Attached please find a copy of the Agreement signed by Mr. Mountjoy. While the year term has passed, the agreement clearly spells out the 30 Day Written Notice of Cancellation requirement. Official Pest Prevention reached out to Mr. Mountjoy on 6/18/15 via a phone call to attempt to negotiate this issue. While Mr. Mountjoy is adamant in his position, the agreement clearly calls for Written Notice, in an effort to resolve this, Official Pest Prevention offered to waive the Written Notice Requirement and in a further Customer Service Good Will gesture, while realizing that these services have been performed, there is no dispute to this effect, Official Pest Prevention further offered, again under no obligation, to split the outstanding balance for services performed in the amount of $168.00, reduced to $84.00, with Mr. Mountjoy paying $84.00 and OPP voiding $84.00. Mr. Mountjoy steadfastly refused this offer of mitigation. Any assistance your agency can provide toward the resolution of this matter would be greatly appreciated.Thank you,Beni B.Customer Service ManagerOfficial Pest Prevention

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is not satisfactory. Nothing is said about the water the company has stole from me for over a year. they got caught twice but that was only because I happened to be home. The last two sprays they only sprayed the font because I keep a lock on the gate so they used 1/2 chemicals. I will agree to 1/4 of the bill $42.00 cancel the contract and they never return to my property. have the re-bill me and I will pay to close this matter.

Review: They are trying to charge me for a visit already

payed for. Also didn’t do all rooms as agreed. When called to ask for the

reasoning for the lack of work. They billed me for a return visit. The next

scheduled visit the employee never showed up on a 4 hour window I called and

complained. The lady that took my call did apologized and said she would get

back to me. The employee called me the next day. I was unable to take his call because

of business hours. He then showed up anyways. My wife was just leaving and

turned him away. They billed me for that visit. I then called and asked to

cancel. The lady told me not to worry, and we could cancel. I asked to pay

anything I owed. To give it to me in writing. She then said she had no new

invoices. Three years after they came to the door. I told them about my

troubles and they took $50 form me. Starting new service. They then keeped my

$50. Didn’t ever come back.Desired Settlement: Settlement would not to bill me. Take off my credit. My $50.00

dollars back.

On 3-26-2013, [redacted] signed a one year service agreement for pest control service with our company. We performed three of the 5 contracted services as outlined in the agreement but only received payment for one. After sending notices and calling repeatedly without success we referred Mr. [redacted]' account to an outside agency for collection assistance. Later, on January 6, 2016, [redacted] signed another one year contract for pest control service. We applied the $50 payment toward his past due balance that was over $400 and informed him that he would need to pay off his old account before he would be eligible to return to service. We would be happy to perform service for Mr. [redacted] if he is willing to pay the amount that he owes.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:In 2013 when agreeing to receive service. I was told that official pest control was a repeatedly what a great company OPC was. From the being I was not told the truth. When signing our agreement. The Rep. that came to the door told me that I would only be charged when receiving service, and payment would be received at the time of service. The very first visit we had to leave the home for the inside service. When returning the OPC employee was already cleaned up and in his company truck. I asked if service was received inside, plus the harmful effects. He then told me service was only received in the kitchen and front room, and back room. None of the four bedroom & 2 bathrooms were done. I then called and said to them please can I speak to a manager. I was told one was not available "Can I help you". I then called and said to them my house was incomplete. They apologized, and was going to send someone out asap. When they made there visit to finish there incomplete work they charged me for my second visit. I called back when receiving the bill, and talked to manager assured me they would take care of it, and make it right, Which did not happen, but I waited and waited. Then a few months later an OPC rep contacted me on a scheduled service app. I asked about the changes or update on my account. He didn't know and would lock in to it for me. We set up a time and date which he never called or showed up. He then showed up unannounced which my wife had a turn him away. So I called in the office the lady in the office told me I didn't have to receive service anymore, and she would get back to me. When she called back she told me a third invoice was created.I did receive the bills, but they were incorrect and fake. I only received 1/2 service on the inside, on the first visit. Billed for the makeup work. Then had a missed appointment and billed for that. I do not owe them the amount they claim or received service they claim. # years later a OPC rep came to the door of my home. I then agreed for service, because he informed me thing have changed. They then kept my money.

Response:

I am rejecting this response because:To whom it may concern,

Review: In April of 2014 my husband and I agreed to have Official Pest Prevention provide service to our home for a period of 12 months. First visit was June of 2014 then every 3 months up until March of 2015. After that we received a call from the company to continue service. We did not agree. On June 17,2015 someone by the name of [redacted] showed up to provide service. My husband asked him to leave. He was there for approximately 10 minutes and left a bill of $114.00 for ten minutes. After that visit I called Official Pest Prevention and left a message that I did not agree to pay for that service because I did not request the service. I asked that someone call me back. No one did. Now we have been reported to a Collection Agency for the amount of $400.00. I spoke to the Collection Agency on Saturday August 22, 2015. I was shocked at the dollar figure. They stated that it was for the whole year. Why would I pay for a whole year if I did not agree to the service?Desired Settlement: I am asking for a billing adjustment but also a correction to our credit report. We have struggled to get our credit in good standing and would hate for this matter to destroy that.

Business

Response:

On 4/29/2015 [redacted] signed a one year contract for pest control service that called for 5 services and payments totaling $515. Mr. [redacted] took 4 of the contract's 5 required services and then failed to make the required payments. After multiple attempts to make contact via telephone and U.S. mail we referred the matter to an outside collection agency (Mr. [redacted]'s payments totaled only $215). Any assistance your agency can provide toward the resolution of this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Review: Official Pest Prevention came to my home and offered an excellent deal for pest Prevention. I have an issue with outside roaches and silverfish in my home Im renting. The officially came out in December and serviced the home. Everything was good the first couple of days only a few bug came out and started dying all over my garage. I didn't notice any dying in the home. I still to this day have silverfish and roaches in my bathroom and my bedroom. I called many of times to report to issues in my home. When it was time for the technician to come and service my home again I had already called to cancel the service with in a 30 day period as stats in the contract. They did service the house again only outside. I called to complain again about the service and they only care about there money. They don't care that I still have issues in my home with the pests. They offer horrible service and will not pay for it at all.Desired Settlement: I would like for there service to be cancelled and the contract removed. I will not pay any fees owed as they have failed to keep my home pest free.

Business

Response:

Our pest control service is fully guaranteed. If a customer has a problem we will return to re-service in between our regularly scheduled visits at no charge. Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] has not given us the opportunity to fix the problem that she has described to you. We are willing to return at her convenience and at no additional charge. Pest control is a process. Cockroaches often take multiple applications to eradicate. In Ms. [redacted]'s case we sprayed once in December and once in January -- there have been no requests for extra service (or we would have performed it already). The real reason for the complaint seems to be about payment. Although the first service was performed in December (and due in thirty days) we have not received any payment. We hope to resolve this situation but if not, we will be forced to refer Ms. [redacted]'s account to a credit reporting collection agency. Any assistance your agency can provide toward the resolution of this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I gave my credit card to the company for first payment. The issue at hand is not payment. I would have no issue paying a company that provides honest work. If I call and say hey I have garden roaches in my house isn't the first thing that comes to mine is I'm going to service inside their house again. My issue is that I have called many times to complain about my problem reoccuring inside my home and nothing was done. Three months later Official pest prevention says that if I reported it then they would come and perform a service free of charge. Well why didn't this happen. I don't schedule there workers to come out. There company does. And the fact that I still have issues going on is ridiculous. I have used another company before in my past years living in homes in another county. I have never been so ignored and insulted by there excellent customer service they claim to provide. Let it be know I called about five times to complain about my issues not once did someone offer to come out and service my home again. The first time this company came out here they serviced my exterior and interior of my home. The first week still had bugs and I called to check in with the. The person that answered the phone said it was normal because it was disturbing the bugs homes. Three weeks later I called and reported that there was still live roaches and silverfish in my home. Nothing was done about it. The second time they came to service my home they only did the front yard and said that because there was animals in the house and outside the technician himself said he could not service the backyard or inside the home? How is this honest work I pay for? I had animals the first time they came out to service my home and the animals were exposed to whatever they use. I don't get how there running a business. I call and complain and ask questions and nothing is done all they give is excuses for everything. I will not pay for work that was not done. If this company is scamming its customers for money. They perform little to no work and collect people's monies. There solution rather than to honestly service my home as it should be is to just report me to collects? If I had read other reports about this company before hand I would not have agreed to let them service my home. I want that contract cancelled.

Business

Response:

We offer every person who calls in to our office with a service problem free retreats. I would invite you to call our office and find out personally. Our offer remains the same -- we will come out now at no additional charge and solve the problem.

Consumer

Response:

I am rejecting this response because: I have been waiting for someone to come out and service my home. This company is a scam. If they provide retreats then why has one not been made. If there solution is just to give me a bad report on my credit report with out servicing my home then I will turn to a lawyer for a resolution. It's as simple as that. Thanks for your horrible service needs.

Review: Well when the salesperson came out he ([redacted]) told my wife [redacted] that their company was spraying in the neighborhood and everyone knows that when a company sprays in the neighborhood that the bugs go to the house that did not get sprayed. [redacted] said that they had a deal for a one time spray of $49.00 dollars and that if after the spray we still had bugs that they would come back for free and respray. We had sold our house and have been renting this house and talking about moving to the suburbs.so I just wanted a one time spray anyway because we have had some spiders and earwigs around the house and my daughter has been complaining so I agreed to a one time spray. After they sprayed we had more bugs then before they sprayed so I had my wife call them back for a second spray and when they came back now they say that we was under contract for a year.if I would have know it was a year contract we would have never went with this anyway. my wife and I left for a couple of days for our wedding anniversary and this morning I took my morning shower and there was two earwigs in the shower also last night my wife saw three water bugs,so they put us in a contract we did not want and their spray is not working Thank You [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like to get out of this contract they say we are in and the second spray I feel we should not have to pay for it I feel we should only pay the $49.00 dollars and they should even spray again to get ride of what is left that they never took care of in the beginning

Business

Response:

When customers have a pest problem we are always willing to return at no additional charge and fix the issue. We stand behind our work and are willing to retreat the home until Ms [redacted] and her husband are satisfied. Pest control is an on going process. The desired results take time. As a new customer, Ms. [redacted] should see the "pest" situation improve with each application. On 6-8-2015 [redacted] signed a one year agreement for pest control services and promised to pay $49 for the first application in 30 days. To date the thirty day period has passed and we have not received payment -- any payment. Currently we are trying to collect a past due balance of $148. If payment is not received we will have no choice but to refer the matter to an outside agency for credit reporting and possible legal action. Any assistance your agency can provide toward the resolution of this matter would be greatly appreciated. Enclosed please find the one year service agreement signed by [redacted].

Consumer

Response:

I am still upset this company I guess has sprayed three times I feel we have more spiders and earwigs now than before they sprayed. I opened my indoor cupboards and a wholes lot of flying extra large nats came out flying around I feel I am being forced to have a company I do not want and there product is making my home a place of bugs
