I have had loans with Springleaf, Mariner etc over the yearsAlways took out the loans which I knew had higher interest rates but always paid them back earlyWe recently did a new loan at One Main Financial at a high interest rate and planned to do the sameAfter I made my first payment, I was shocked to find it was a precomputed interest loanThat no matter when I pay it off, I will pay all of the interestShocked that this is even legal, and mad at myself as I did not pay more attention at loan signingI am not even that this was verbally explained to us, but it is on loan papersAs they say "buyer beware"Would never recommend a loan here

deceitful business practices

Our accounts were charged for payments that were not due and not on any due date that were ever scheduled , no we didn't have auto pay no they didn't have authorization to submit a payment from our account days before the thanksgiving holiday therefore hurting my family for money during this time They have no explanation and want us to prove the money was taken when they pushed it through ! Supposedly this happens all too often with multiple people in my area alone , so counting the gas , time , and effort on my end to receive my money back from a payment that once again wasn't due this is ridiculous! Having to show bank statements , waiting days on a manager to be "available " to give me my refund and all the overdraft fees I'm paying one main screwed my family ! I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy and something should be done about their fraudulent acts who knows what else goes unnoticed !

I had a great experience with OneMain Financial The loan officer I worked with was very caring and wonderful She explained everything to me in detail I didn't feel like I was getting into something that would be terrible later on I like the automatic payment option too

We had to get a loan from Springleaf in October of It was a $4,loanWe paid $back within a month and made regular payments from thereWe called in May of to get the pay off it was $We continued making regular paymentsIn July of One Main took overWe continued making regular paymentsI called in January of to see what the payoff was and was told it is $even after paying over $since our last inquiry.My husband called the office and was told we hadn't made a payment since AugustHe then stopped in the office with proof that we had paid and to inquire about why so little was being applied to our loan especially since every payment has been ahead of schedule and the office staff were rude and either could not or would not give him an answerI have never had a loan where paying extra does not reduce the principle owedI wouldn't recommend this company to anyoneWe got the loan because we needed it for an emergency surgery but I would have gone a different route had I known One Main would be taking over the loan

filled out a application online and they contacted me and got the rest of the info and I was able to fax it to them and got a loan a few days later

Even with my limited experience with this company, I can already tell that they go above and beyond I applied for a personal loan with OneMain Financial, and in the end, they weren't able to offer me loan terms that were what I was looking for, which is okay, but during the application process, a hard inquiry was performed on my my credit report, which ended up interfering with my approval for a loan with a different lender that ended up being a better match for me This competing lender was asking for documentation proving that I did not end up taking a loan with OneMain Financial (apparently, they were worried I was trying to take out multiple loans at once) Ofir, the branch manager at this Des Plaines location, went out of his way to ensure that I receive the documentation I needed so that I could get the loan that was the best fit for me Since we weren't able to do business together, he had no obligation to help me in this way, especially considering my decision to go with a competing lender! These are clearly honest people who care about helping people meet their financial goals, even if it doesn't necessarily end up benefiting them directly

Very good experience I just wish u could do it on line without having to go in but very nice people

It would be nice if they reported to the credit bureau every month

High interest when obtaining a loanThe loan was a emergency request to pay off a home "supplemental tax bill" so I had no choice in the momentit will take me years to pay a 3000$ loan ..even after been a returned customer of yearsGrateful for the loan availability but disappointed on the rate to pay it off
