Origin of Names Reviews (82)

Review: On December 11, 2013, I placed an order with Origin of Names for a one bottle wine holder with a family crest imprinted on it. Despite guaranteeing that the product would be delivered before Christmas, I did not receive my item until December 28, 2013. Upon opening the box, I realized that the product sent to me was NOT what I had ordered. It was 2 pieces of wood joined by hinges and chain. Each piece of wood had six holes bored into it. On December 30, I emailed the customer service for the company and included pictures of what I actually ordered and what arrived at my house. I indicated I wanted the problem resolved. On January 3, 2014, I emailed again complaining that I hadn't heard back and was concerned. I received an email from [redacted] stating she'd look into the problem. On January 19, 2014, I emailed again stating that I would escalate the situation to the Revdex.com and media if the problem wasn't resolved. It still isn't resolved and I have not heard back from the company.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the purchase price ($39.99) and the shipping ((.95) for a total of $49.94. I initially just wanted a replacement, but now I want my money back - either credited back to my credit card or as a cash refund. I don't trust that a check from them wouldn't bounce.

Dear [redacted]

Review: On 9/4/14, I ordered a high quality Coat of Arms .jpeg from the Coats of Arms Store's online site (4crest.com). On their website, it says they will try to find any crest they don't have, to go ahead and order and you won't be charged unless they find it. It also said it would be sent to me in one day unless it is not in their database - in which case it can take a "few days." I followed the instructions carefully and received a confirmation email, which also provided a link to check the status of my order. I was charged for this order on 9/4/14, making me think they had the Coat of Arms in their database. I waited patiently (I did mention in my order that this was for a special occasion that was fast approaching) and on 9/9/14 I sent an email to an email address associated with the site online ([redacted]). In my email, I checked in on the status of my order and reminded them that this was for a special occasion. On 9/15/14, I sent an email to the address listed on the confirmation email - [redacted] - saying I needed prompt response as I had been charged and had heard nothing. Again, no response from a real person although I received an auto-reply saying they had received the email and to allow for response by the next business day. On 9/16/14, I did research online and found a phone number for [redacted], the store owner. I left a message saying I needed to hear back immediately on my order. I also replied to the auto-reply email on 9/16 saying I was extremely disappointed and would be contacting the Revdex.com by the week's end if this was not resolved. Throughout the process, I have checked the "order status" online and it never says anything beyond the order number; the order status section is always blank. I am so upset by this situation - today is the big day and I have nothing to give my husband.Desired Settlement: While I really want a .jpeg of the Verrillo coat of arms, the time to use it has passed and so I will have to settle for getting my money back. An apology wouldn't hurt either!

Review: I order a family credit graphic for an anniversary present. When I received the graphic, I realized there was not enough white space around it for it to print correctly. I've emailed several times from 2 email addresses and have been unable to receive a response. The have no other contact information.Desired Settlement: Fix the graphic so it is usable to submit a refund.

Review: EXTREMELY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. No phone # to contact the company and they don't respond to emails. On 1/23/2014, I FINALLY received an item I'd ordered as a Christmas gift on 11/16/13 for a relative. The item was supposed to be delivered to me well before Christmas. This company has no phone number to contact them. I repeatedly emailed them requesting the status since the status stated it had been shipped, but they wouldn't respond to my emails. Finally after my emailing them practically daily they responded and stated they would send the product. So, I specifically requested---due to the delay in even receiving this item when I should have----that the item be shipped directly to my intended gift recipient at the address I provided, instead of me. I kept following up with my relative who never received it. Then item was incorrectly shipped to me. And the envelope was from Hong Kong but his company is in Washington. Then I had to mail the Christmas present to my relative 1300 miles away in FEBURARY! I requested per email some form of compensation for all the hassle but no response to that request. (surprise). I would be happy to provide emails if necessary.Desired Settlement: I requested the least the company could do is credit my credit card that I provided for this order, for the cost of the delayed item and the shipping and handling for the entire order. I did receive the one and only other item I'd also ordered in time for Christmas so I have no issue with that other purchase. I had to go out of my way to mail the delayed item and pay for postage.

Review: On 11/20/14 I ordered 3 Coat of Arms blankets with the Ouellette Coat of Arms on the blanket. I was told up to 5 weeks for delivery. I have not received the blankets. They have already charged my credit card on 11/20/14 for $479.97. I received email from them showing the picture of Coat of Arms that would be on blanket. On 12/22/14 I inquired if I would receive by Christmas. On 12/23/1 they responded saying item was in transit, takes up to 5 weeks. On 12/26/14 I emailed for Tracking# stating it had been 37 days, which is 5 plus weeks. On 12/26/14 I received automated response they would be in touch with me, they never did. Today on 1/7/15, I wrote this:

Please Please give me more information on my order. I ordered on 11/20/14, so that makes 7 weeks now. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE BLANKETS. YOU BILLED ME IMMEDIATELY YET 7 WEEKS LATER NO BLANKETS!!!!! HELLO Please call me xxx-xxx-xxxx.

Review: on July 24th, 2015 I placed an order with Origin of Names. On July 29th, 2015 I received confirmation that my order had been shipped. I did not verify the tracking number until August 10th. On August 10th I tried to track my package assuming that I should have received it already. Upon checking my tracker number with USPS I noticed that my package had been returned to the company and was "Out for Delivery" on August 10th, 2015 at 8:29 am in Spokane, WA. I immediately sent an e-mail on August 10th, 2015 stating that:

"I just tried to track my order and it looks like it was returned to you because the address was wrong. My correct address is [address given]. If you have any questions please call [phone number given] thank you."

On August 11th I received a reply stating:

"Hello,

Thank you once again for your purchase. According to your order it looks like you provided the incorrect address of:

[Name, address, and phone number given]

As it was shipped to the address you provided you will need to pay a re-shipment fee of $9.95, which will be sent from Paypal to your email. Once we receive your payment and the package we will re-ship it to the new address you have provided:

[Name and address given]

Have a nice rest of your day.

Sincerely,

Origin of Names"

On August 11th, 2015 I paid the second shipment fee via pay pal and notified Origin of Names via e-mail. I did not hear back from the company son on August 14th, 2015 I sent another e-mail asking for a confirmation that my order had been shipped to the corrected address. No reply was sent to me. On August 17th, 2015 I sent the following e-mail:

"Hello,

on 7/24/15 I placed an order from your company but the shipping address had a typo and was accidentally shipped to the wrong address. According to USPS tracking number [number provided] this package was returned to sender since the given address does not exist and it showed that it was delivered in Spokane, WA on August 10th at 8:29 am. After checking my USPS tracking number I realized the mistake and notified your staff on 8/10/15 explaining that the product was returned to you since the address given does not exist. I received a response from [Name of Employee] on 8/11/15 stating that I would be responsible to pay for shipping again since it was an error on my end when typing my shipping address. I did pay the shipping fee again on 8/11/15 via Paypal per the e-mail sent to me. However, I did not realize that Paypal would send you a shipping address that it had on file. This address was an old address of mine and so I immediately sent an email to your company giving the correct address on 8/11/15. On 8/14/15 I sent an e-mail requesting confirmation that my order had been reshipped. This is now my third e-mail to your company to confirm that my order has been reshipped and that it has been sent to the correct address. Please respond to this e-mail to update me on my order.

Thank you,

[My Name]"

Today's date is 8/24/15 at 10:21 Arizona time I have not received a confirmation that my order has been re-shipped. I have noticed that under my order status link that they provided my address has been updated to the correct address but there is no new tracking number and the old one still says that the package is out for delivery on August 10th 2015.Desired Settlement: I would like a response from the company stating that my order was reshipped and to list what address they sent it to. I would like a new tracking number to verify the shipment of my order.

I also told her that due to this we were cancelling and refunding her order. That was yesterday. Now today she is filing this complaint. Here is a copy of the refund sent through yesterday.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Regards,

We cancelled

it because you were insulting our business. Had you been reasonable and not

automatically thought the worst of our company we could have worked with you.

But you went right into insults and allegations. As I mentioned previously we serve THOUSANDS of happy customers every

year. You also did

not read the instructions that 3 to 5 days in transit is added to the delivery

times. IF YOU WOULD

HAVE ALLOWED [redacted] , you would

have received those emails and there would not have been any miscommunication,

as you put it. For future

reference , when you order something make sure you figure out how to ALLOW the

companies customer service email address on your AOL settings. Thank

you [redacted] Origin of Names

Funny how quickly you responded to the Revdex.com request for

action. Maybe you should try to reach your establishment on

line. Not so easy and totally aggravating. Why don't you have a phone # like

other online sales businesses. Your service leaves a lot to be desired. It all

was so OK, why did you cancel my order. I was depending on the item I ordered.

Much miscommunication & delayed answers led me to be "paranoid" as you

describe. I have had many online successful transactions & satisfactory

ratings from reputable establishments. You are not one of them. On arrival of

my refund, (not the amount, but the principal) I will be done with you.

In a message dated 10/23/2013 1:24:37 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time,

Our customer

service dept tried several times to contact you. Your inbox

was set to NOT accept that email address. ([redacted]) You probably

inputted it incorrectly when you tried to accept it , or maybe you don't know

how to accept it. We have proof

that we sent several emails and will supply these records should it become

necessary for any slander law suit. We already

refunded your order yesterday. It was cancelled at the same time. Just maybe ,

Just maybe, you could contact your AOL provider and check on this so that you

can see that this was your issue and not ours. I have tried

to have patience with your remarks regarding fraud etc. We are reputable

company that serves thousands of customers every year. You have not

been scammed , please stop being so impatient and paranoid. We do not need or

want your money. Honestly $44?? We have your credit card number ...don't you

think that if we truly were a company out scamming people that we would have

charged your card more than $44????? Contact your

credit card company. It normally takes 2 business days for the credit to show

up. So I assume that it will show on your statement tomorrow.

You do know our address , as we know yours. We also know your phone number and will definitely give you a ring should

that become necessary.

I understand my order was canceled. When can I expect a

refund of $54.94. My account has been charged that amount. Please expedite my

refund. I am reporting this transaction to the Revdex.com in your

location. They have a record of your poor performance. I also know that your

place of residence is your business location. Let's get this resolved before it

gets out of hand. Please contact me as soon as

possible. [redacted]--

This is the customer service communications I received. Belive me when I say I have not contacted anyone but Revdex.com regarding my dilemma and no insults intended. I have no trouble receiving any emails from businesses I have dealth with. I am not a novice at purchasing online. If in fact I receive my refund by Friday, (2 days as stated by Ms. [redacted]) I will consider withdrawing my complaint and will be aware of their customer service practices.Thank you for your expertise and promptness in handling my complaint.gmk

Review: I ordered a product from this company in mid-December and they told me the order would take about 8-10 weeks. It has now been almost five months and I have received no product which I ordered for my parents as a Christmas gift. I contacted the company a few times and they said it was being processed and would send it when it's ready. Now, I have yet to receive the product and when I email them, which I have now done more than three times, they haven't responded and have chose to ignore my order.Desired Settlement: They need to fulfill my order and I hope there will be some sort of reprecussion.

Review: June 9, 2014: I ordered "Double Coats of Arms/Family Crests beautifully hand stitched in gold and silver thread. Framed in a beautiful Gold Leaf frame. 14" x18" frame. The Ultimate Treasure. Allow 4-6 weeks for delivery." #[redacted] $199.99

June 13, 2014: order acknowledged - Order #[redacted] (4crests-[redacted])

Aug 13, 2014: Sent 2nd inquiry re: status of order. No response to first.

Aug 14, 2014: Per [redacted]:

"Sorry for the slow response it looks like your previous inquiry went into our spam filter for some odd reason. We received your embroidery today. I apologize for the delay as we do not make these embroiderers, but have them done by a hand embroidery company. I have been in contact with the company over the past week to get an update as they were late. They let me know that due to the large influx of orders for weddings there embroiderers were behind on our orders. But we do have them now and we will send your order to our framer today to have it framed and then it will be shipped directly to you."

08.22.2014: embroidered coats of arms arrived

The actual gift and the image on the website are significantly different:

1. The SCROLLS with the names and wedding date are different.

On the one I received, either side of the date has pointed rather than rounded scroll turns. These, top and bottom, create an angular effect that isn't as attractive as the wavy scroll on the website image.

2. The MATTING is far more attractive on the website. It appears that the website matte is double or at least has a white filet which mitigates the effect of the black matte.

3. The double FRAME on your website image is far more attractive and more detailed than the single frame you sent.

4. The serif FONT on the website image is more formal and attractive than the simple sans serif font on the crests you sent.

What was sent does not accurately reproduce the website image and is significantly inferior. The frame and matte are of inferior quality as is the embroidery. Twice I queried [redacted] via email re: the product, but she did not respond. I told her if I did not receive a response, that I would contact you. Still no response. I have photos of the advertised website coats of arms and what was actually sent.Desired Settlement: Actually, I wanted to purchase more of this product, but only if I can be assured I will receive the product advertised. I would like to know where I can purchase the advertised product.

Review: On May 15, 2013, I placed an order for a pair of family crest dog tags valued at $16.99 plus $7.95 shipping on the order. I requested the order (#4crests-149478) be shipped to my work address. I followed up on the order 15 days later, on May 30, 2013, by email when the item didn't arrive in the timeline indicated on website. I received an automated email response saying my order had been received and that by including my order number I'd receive faster service in response to my inquiry. Further that Order inquiries can take up to 3 days to be responded to. Please be patient...On June 10, 2013, ten days following the first email inquiry, I sent another. This is nearly a month following the order! I receive the same automated email response and no further service from this company.Today is July 30, 2013... I have not received the item I purchased, a credit/refund back to the card I used for the purchase in the amount of the order, nor even an email or telephone response to my inquiries. To add insult to injury, the company sent me an email detailing new items for purchase...what a joke! I work in a customer service industry and this type of 'service' is unacceptable. This company is not reputable!Desired Settlement: This company needs to fulfill the order immediately or credit my card back for the entire amount of the purchase. I'd also like to see prosecution of the company to alleviate the continued theft from future buyers....that's exactly what this company does...they steal from unsuspecting clients.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I emailed this company from my office email address ([redacted]) and each time included the order number. Each time, within a minute, I received what appears to be an automated response from [redacted] This tells me, my email inquiries were received, yet I received no further communication. No where on their site does it indicated inquiries about an order must be from the email address used when ordering. I checked my personal email address ([redacted]) and note an email was sent back to [redacted] on July 7, 2013. Regardless of which email address I sent an inquiry from, the fact remains I have not heard back from anyone at this company despite repeated requests. It took a complaint to the Revdex.com to get any information. Had someone actually addressed my email inquiries (see attached) over the last 11 weeks, this issue would have been resolved. Furthermore, I resent the implication in the company's response that if I'd 'emailed our customer service dept. at [redacted] we would have gladly worked with her to get her a replacement.' I did email, got a canned email response and nothing more.As for the postal service, I've called them with the tracking number recently provided. They have no record of the parcel leaving Spokane, WA and have referred me back to the company, Coat of Arms. I still do not have the item I purchased. Ideally, I'd like to have the item I ordered as it was to be a birthday gift. However, if that is not possible, I'd like a full refund to my card in the amount of $24.94.

Regards,

Business

Response:

According the postal records , the item was shipped out on May 24th.

It does not show a delivery so we are to assume that the post office has lost your package.

As you can tell by the tracking information the package was sent by our company.

Our company did everything correctly.

Regarding the missing package :

Because we are reputible company , a replacement item has been sent out and should reach you within approx 7 days.

Review: On Dec. 23, 2014, we ordered (Order No. [redacted]) at [redacted] for two items: an embroidered coat of arms banner for $358.99 and special coat of arms collection for $58.99 for a subtotal of $417.98 and shipping of $9.95 to total $427.93. We received the special coat of arms collection, but have not received the embroidered coat of arms banner. The company told us it would take five to 10 weeks for delivery of the embroidered coat of arms banner, but it has been more than 17 weeks and we still have not received the banner or any information about the delivery. We have sent emails to multiple email addresses, and even left phone messages with information we have from PayPal (Email addresses are [redacted] and [redacted]; the phone number is [redacted]) and still have not received any communication from the company.

We even filed a dispute with PayPal on Jan. 28, 2015, and received correspondence from "[redacted]" at Origin of Names via PayPal stating:

Hello,

Thank you once again for your purchase. We apologize for the lack of communication as your emails were getting stuck in our spam filter for some odd reason. The banner [redacted] is in production as they take 5-10 weeks(minus the week of Christmas) for delivery, as they are embroidered by hand. Once your order has shipped you will receive an automatic confirmation with tracking number. I have also added your email to our contacts so we shouldn't have anymore issues with receiving your emails. As this issue has been resolved we kindly ask that you end this dispute.

Sincerely,

Review: Ordered a product from this company in December. Company states 6-12 weeks for completion of the order plus delivery time. It has been over 20 weeks. Company stated over a month ago that the product was held up in China by customs and required four additional weeks. That was five weeks ago. I emailed the company on Apr 22nd and only received the auto response saying they would contact me within one working day. Never happened. I sent a second email on the 29th of April with the same results. I just sent another one this evening. They have given me in the past the excuse of my email being stuck in the spam filter just as I have noticed they gave as an excuse before. They indicated on the Revdex.com website that they would correct that problem. I guess that was incorrect.Desired Settlement: I want my ring now. I am a patient man but this is beyond rediculous. I served thirty years in the Navy and I've seen quite alot in my life but never anything this bad (business wise). A business at least owes honest answers and attempts to correct issues. This one has not. I would like a phone call instead of hiding behind emails and the internet. Bottom line is I want my ring. I wanted to show it to my father but he passed away on March 14th while I awaited my ring. Please give me the ring I paid almost $600.00 for.

I placed my order on 2/7 and by 2/17 was very concerned as to where my order was. When I contacted the correct site they did research my request and determined that I had inadvertently placed my order with Origins. When I tried to contact them the 800 number registered "blocked" and when I looked up their phone number I left a message and never received a return call.
