POWERHOME SOLAR Reviews (%countItem)

In December 2017 I had my solar panels installed. The company claimed they would monitor the system and notify me if system wasn't performing so it could be fixed or I could pay $1200 to monitor it myself. Everything was fine until Dte(electric) bill started to climb, so I called Dte and they informed me that the panels had only generated 6kwh in the past month, which I knew something wasn't right. I then called Power Home Solar, go through the troubleshooting to figure out what's going on and it's determined that a service call needs to happen because the inverter isn't working. Now remember I said they're supposed to be monitoring my system, so why did I have to call them to inform them that my system wasn't working? After a month of trying to get service call taken care of and countless phone calls, mostly because I wasn't called back like they said they would, they started blaming the inverter company and saying they're still waiting to hear back from them to figure out what to do. I finally got fed up and called back again and got on the books for the service call and they came out to replace inverter. After the service call was complete I started calling about a refund for the few months that my system wasn't working...4 phone calls later, asking to speak to a supervisor and being told no because they're not there, being told I would get call backs and emails that I'm still waiting to receive, I am extremely unsatisfied with my service and their lack of communication. I wish I wouldn't of ever done business with this company.

Ms. D'Alessandro, we apologize for the difficulties that you had with your inverter. I'm glad that we were able to get it fixed for you, and I'm also glad that we could credit you for the loan payments that came while the system was down. Thank you for being a POWERHOME Solar customer.

The back end of this business needs some serious work. When I talked to people they were friendly but it shouldn’t take 4-5 days to respond to emails. Also there was an issue with my paperwork instead of calling and trying to get ahold of me they sent an email that went to spam and never got until weeks later. And it took almost a month to fix the issue. Too many complaints about the backend to get into. Hope the product ov

Took over 5 months from the date I signed the contract to finally get turned on. I was told 90 on the rare chance 120. That was unacceptable. The customer service is lack luster at best. I’m super disappointed on the production of the panels. My first question was about cloudy days. I was told 60-70% of what I should get at full production. But in reality it’s less than 20%. So far I’m experiencing around 10-15%. Had a dusting today of snow this morning and panels were covered and I was told again that I would still get production and basically 0 production for the first 3 hours then it’s been laughable the rest of the day. When its a cloudless day you get great production. 24-25kWh. But I Michigan is a very cloudy state. I feel like I was sold a bad bill of goods.

Mr., I understand we got in touch with you to explain how solar production works and to address the inconveniences you have had as a result of our install. We apologize that you were told that heat from the solar panels would melt snow. That's not correct. The sun will do the best job with that. Thank you for being a POWERHOME Solar customer, and all of our best to you.

I put in a review a while back at how disappoiinting Power Home Solar is. I cannot find that review. Anyway there was a response from Power Home Solar, which alologised and would make things right. Well it is now the middle of January and we still have no solar power. That is 3 1/2 months. And no one at this company has a clue what is going on. Our box failed inspection and they sent a crew from Michigan who had no clue why they were here. They did not have the part needed to pass inspection and could not replace the blown circuit, which we believe to be a direct result of Power Home installation. My partner spoke yesterday with a supervisor for 1 1/2 hours, who promised to call back today with answers. The person never called us. This is the worst experience I have ever had. So wish I could just have the solar panels removed and my time and money compensated. What needs to happen to get results? A better company which is more organized and has better communications.

Great crew stayed on task all day even after a late start (in the rain). Did a great job cleaning up after themselves.
