Jeremy C arrived at the house November 11, 2017 at about 9:15am. He looked around the house to see where to install the unit and we decided the front wall would be better then in the laundry room. He installed the unit and then starting talking about the various package they had. We told him we never paid for equipment and had ADT in New Mexico and Georgia.
He started at 4,000 (four thousand dollars) which would include breakage glass thru out the house we told him no. Then we went to 3,000 (three thousand dollars) we said no and told him to take his equipment. He said he was going outside to call his manager. He came back and said it would cost $1250 and my spouse said okay. The payment would be under150 (one hundred fifty dollars). So, he finished installing the equipment and informed us a door camera would be installed.
He asked me if this was my signature on his tablet and I said yes. Before he left we asked him about the paperwork and he replied it would be arriving. Yes, it arrived. He had sign my signature in my DocuSign and in my bank account on Nov 13, 2017, $491.46 was withdrawal as well as 93.69 for service.
We spoke to April and explained to her what happened. I did not sign any documents and we did not agree to $58 per month for service as well as him taking $491.46 from my account. She wrote a report and informed the manager. They send Jeremy out again to see if he could correct the issue. He spoke with my spouse and the $491.46 was refunded to the account.
We called the police and had a report filed case number *** by Officer *** as well as DocuSign case number *** from *** to see how he could sign my name.
They offer a gift card for $100 which we have not received.
Defender ADT corrected the problem but who wants to be put in this situation. What would have occurred if I did not have extra money to cover my bill. This was wrong. Watch out for this company

Your representative, Aaron was very professional and thorough when he came to our home. He explained clearly what possibilities were available. We explained we had a certain financial criteria. He was able to come up with a plan for us that was both within our budget and that made us feel safe and secure.

ADT is just going down with this Authorized Dealer.
1st - Incorrect Installation of the unit
2nd - System generated Faulty alarm to emergency services next day
3rd - Multiple visits by Technician and still system faulty (all liars)
4th - Constant incorrect billing (still fighting for incorrect Billing)

ADT is also equally responsible for it, as they say that they really dont have any control on billing or the authorized dealer.

This is the worst security company. Currently I am disputing charges using my bank now.

My tech Valerie was great - very informative and thorough. She explained all me services throughout the install and was very knowledgeable. I was very comfortable with her in my home.

I have to say this is the worst experience overall I have every had!! A long awful 3 months of dealing with this company. The initial call was all lies as I found out on the install date. I have wasted many hours on hold trying to get to the bottom of all the this. WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.
VERY DISAPPOINTED:((

These guys are scam artists, and totally took advantage of us. We thought we were having ADT install new equipment. The salesman said the existing ADT equipment wouldn't work and that we needed over $4,000.00 in new equipment for ADT service to work which would be paid over 3 years on a contract. We came to find out that the existing ADST woulds have been perfectly fine. They never once mentioned that they were not ADT, but an authorized ADT dealer. The fact that they were an authorized dealer was not disclosed. As a laymen, how would I have had any idea that there was such a thing as "authorized ADT dealers?" TOTAL SCAM. ADT should advertise the fact that they have dealers that will sell you new equipment that is not necessary.

I contacted ADT to set up the alarm system in my house. They sent over this individual who claimed to be an ADT employee. I repeatedly asked this individual if they were indeed ADT corporate they danced around the subject then insinuated or intimated that they were indeed owned by ADT. 4 to 5 hours into the insulation I find out that they are indeed an external Service provider. The free installation of equipment but I was told on the phone turned out to be between five and $7000. this individual also attempted to get me to sign a contract without terms and conditions. He said in the US the terms and conditions come after I sign!!!! What a mn He also made a ridiculous statement saying I could call his personal number. They also dug around for a hard copy contract. Unfortunate for them I read they small print. Nothing in there about a 30 day money back guarantee......dishonest!

My installation technician then turn into a lawyer and told me that how it was normally that you pay and then you see the terms and conditions! Too funny! Complete clowns.

I also showed them the reviews for their company on yelp. They're coming was well yes sir but you know it's only people that don't enjoy the experience we service thousands of clients. Really? Over 20 reviews not more than one star? a couple with similar experiences!

These individuals come across his as trustworthy however they are the farthest thing from it.

When calling ADT make sure that you are 100% positive about how much you will be spending and if this contractor comes to your house do not let them in they are completely dishonest.

Also shame on ADT for allowing individuals such as these to represent their Corporation. She should be much more careful in selecting the individuals that they send to our homes! They are monitoring our homes for security however they sent blatant con men into our homes! I will be filing a complaint with ADT, the Revdex.com and also contacting the Secretary of State regarding this company's business practices. I see that somebody has a class action out there I would love to join

Beware this company when they are in your home

I am very pleased with this system even though it's been installed less than a week. It is easy to understand and to use. The technician could not have been any more competent or any more explicit. He explained everything and made sure it was understood. I consider that of the highest importance as inadvertently setting off alarms is not something I ever want to do. My initial contact with ADT representives was pleasant and informative and caused me to choose this system as I knew almost nothing about any of them.

With 1,251 complaints and 77 negative reviews, I suppose that it's overload to add another, but in the hope that there will be positive change, I will briefly say that Defenders in Farmington Hills MI should be avoided at all costs. Extremely unprofessional behavior as well as bait and switch tactics on the part of the technician. ADT doesn't deserve to be represented by such a poor and dysfunctional outfit.

I am super excited to finally have the protection my family deserves. We've talked about home security for years but we finally took the step to protect what we've worked hard for, BEFORE a break in occurred. The technician was very knowledgeable, friendly and made the process easy to understand. My kids are older teens but I now have the added security knowing they have a panic button if they're scared or they can activate the security system while they are home.

Defenders - ADT Authorized Premier Provider
ADT Home Security
Today I have to say I have had the most unprofessional service I have ever received.
ADT/Defenders was scheduled to come to my house to install cameras and updated security system
When I originally called I was quoted around $32 a month and I was going to do our business office as well for another $32 a month
We were told we were going to be given credit for all of the equipment so there shouldn't be any out-of-pocket expenses except for the $99 activation fee which we paid over the phone
David R employee ID 19578 came over and made several holes in my wall, then says let's sit down and talk numbers.
We say numbers I thought we already discussed numbers over the phone, we even have to go through a recording to agree to the prices that was discussed and terms and conditions,
David said I'm sorry but here are the prices and his quote was much higher than what was agreed upon once we told David this he said well I will call my manager.
David precedes to call his manager, by the name of Ian and doesn't realize that the phone is really loud and we can hear the full conversation, Ian starts making racial jokes saying they're probably Indian because they're so cheap and they always want to bargain with us as david is just laughing and agreeing with him as soon as we heard this we were infuriated and asked him to patch up our walls and gets out of our house David said he couldn't help us and he packed up his stuff and left.
I call ADT which told me I needed to deal with Defenders so they transferred me to Defenders and I spoke to a manager by the name of Dylan employee ID DH7671 which was also very condescending and rude over the phone as I'm speaking to my husband he called me condescending and he wanted to disconnect the call I told him how am I condescending to you when I'm not even speaking to you I'm speaking to my husband his response to me was isn't it ironic that the representative that was at your house also wasn't speaking to you and was speaking to his boss as if he was defending his racist actions I asked Dylan if I could speak to his manager and he said he was the highest person there and there wasn't anybody else that he can get me over to
At this point I don't want to deal with this unprofessional company and I've asked him to refund the fee that I paid over the phone and to send me someone to fix my walls he said he refunded the amount but he couldn't send anybody to fix my walls that I would have to get somebody to fix it and I can send over the bill. I asked him who do I send the bill to and he gave me the customer service number I asked him I don't want to customer service number because that will get me first right back to where I'm at now I would like the fax number that I need to fax the bill to he said he did not have that you could not provide that to me I asked him if he could transfer me over and he told me that he could not transfer me because he was the highest manager and his phone is an inbound phone that would not allow him to transfer me to the customer service which I did not understand if this is your manager that supposed to be the cream of the crop of customer care in your company then I'm not sure how you guys are still in business Dylan basically antagonized me throughout the whole phone calls and got my frustration levels that was already high to begin with even higher by the end of the call. I cannot believe the level of service that I received or should I say lack of service. I will be reporting you guys to the Revdex.com and hopes that nobody else receives this type of service I am appalled I cannot believe in 2017 we still have people with this level of ignorance.

I have NEVER, not once in my life, written a review online. However, due to my HORRIBLE AND EXTREMELY MISLEADING experience with Protect Your Home/Defenders (an ADT Authorized Dealer), I feel so strongly to try to prevent others from dealing with the sleazy company who took advantage of me, wasted my time, and left holes in my living room wall.

During my phone conversation with Debbie on December 28, 2017, she told me she could honor the promotion I received in the mail for $27.99 (including a one year warranty) or $36.99 (including free labor and parts for life) plus a $99 installation fee. She said I would receive a $100 VISA gift card in the mail. She asked me if I had a land line and I told her no. She NEVER told me this would be an issue and would ultimately cost me DOUBLE THE MONTHLY FEE.

Then, on the same day, Howard, the "technician" (he is really a sales person who pretends to be a technician) showed up in an unmarked car (this was the first red flag) and immediately started to install the pad on the wall by drilling multiple holes in the wall. I asked him several times about my package. I stated the price Debbie provided me over the phone of $27.99, in addition to what the package included, which was one (1) motion sensor, 7 door/window sensors, 2 wireless remotes, etc. He responded each time by saying, "I haven't looked at your package yet, but I will review everything with you." He was blowing me off and avoiding my questions. I thought this was strange. How could you install something when you don't even know what my package is? Why were you avoiding my questions? I tried to trust Howard even though I had a strange feeling thinking maybe this is the way they do this. Shame on me. I'll cut write to the case. He installed the pad so that I was in a bad position once he told me at the end that the monthly fee would not be $27.99. Instead, because I did not have a land line, the monthly fee would be DOUBLE (from $27.99 to $52.99). My husband and I were outraged because we told Howard several times in the beginning of our interaction that we did not have a landline. He knew! But he proceeded to drill holes in our living room wall so that he could wezel his way into a sales that would have cost us double each month then agreed upon with Debbie. We had Howard remove the pad leaving multiple holes in our living room wall, our time wasted, and feeling completed taken advantage of. We are in the process of getting estimates so that this disgusting company pays for the damage done to our house. I have never dealt with a sleazier company in my life.

In Dec 2016 I had ADT install a security system in my home. After receiving numerous letters from the police department for false alarms (due to motion detective because of my cat), I called and cancelled my service. At this time ADT did not mention I was under a 3 year contract. However I started receiving harassing calls from Defenders. They stated I owed an early termination fee (75% of balance of contract) $1,061.82. At this time I called ADT to restate my service not realizing I had signed a 3 year contract with ADT. However the harassing calls from Defenders continued. I informed them I reinstated my service with ADT so I should not be receiving this harassing calls. Defenders stated it does not matter that I reinstated my service with ADT that I still would have to pay the early termination fee. I told the individual that this doesn’t make sense. So I called ADT again and spoke to a professional agent named Kimberly who agreed this did not make sense to her either. She offered to call Defenders on my behalf. After being hung up on numerous times and transfered from rep to rep, she got the same response from Defenders that I would stil be responsible for the early termination fee even though I was trying right the situation. This does not seem to meet the standard of being fair to the consumer. If ADT called Defenders, who is a third party agent representing ADT, and told Defenders that I am in good standing with ADT, I should not have to pay the cancellation fee. I should only have to pay the monthly service fee now that my account had been reinstated. However, as stated above, Defenders told the ADT agent that it didn’t matter that ADT said that I am in good standing with them and that I still owe the cancellation fee.

Without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. I would leave them with 0 stars if possible. They are frauds and phony's and above all else, liars. This company has jerked me around for over 3 months. I originally received services on 9/1/17. I asked the installer to install a certain way and he refused. He tried to up-sell me telling me that certain services were free that weren't. He told me I could change services over the phone when I actually needed a technician to come out and revamp the system. 9/16/17 I had a technician come out to alter the system (2nd day I had to take off work) and the technician also refused to install the system the way I requested. He promised me a 50% refund of funds that I was overcharged from the original technician. He told me I was scheduled to receive a refund of over $680.00. Satisfied with this response I waited for my refund. I called the company back and told them 1. The system is still not the way I would like it to be installed. 2. I still had not received my refund. The manager I spoke with told me he was personally going to come out to my house and install the system the way I originally requested. October 9th (3rd day I had to take off) the original technician who installed my system returns to my house to install the system the way I requested from him the first time. So much for the manager "Personally coming out to correct the error himself". The technician was visibly angry and threw his equipment around, slammed his equipment on the floor in anger and frustration, because as he later told me he gets a crappy review when someone has to return to a house he has already gone to. Maybe he should have installed the system the way I requested the first time and we would not have had this issue. The technician then proceeds to drill unnecessary holes in my hard wood floor in what I can only assume is anger to get back at me for his crappy review. This meeting took place on 10/9/17. I reported the damage claim immediately, and checked on the status of my reimbursement. On 11/17/17 (2 and a half months after incident), this company finally submitted a refund request to their finance department, which I was informed I would receive in 3-5 days. 5 days later, I was informed it would take up to 30 days. 30 days later, I was informed it would take 30 business days. I still have not received this refund. As far as the damage claim, they moved quicker, because it only took them 1 1/2 months to report this claim to their insurance company, but I still have not received this reimbursement. The insurance company actually denied my claim, because their employee lied to them and said that they used previously drilled holes. They are all liars and a miserable company to deal with. How they maintain business is beyond me. You have been warned, this company is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Not to mention customer service talks down to you and acts as if you are the problem, when I've shelled out thousands of dollars they owe me.

I called ADT regarding a special that I saw advertised during the holiday season (2017). After speaking with ADT, I decided that the service was not what I wanted. After this phone call, I have received phone calls from Defender's Protect Your Home every day for two months. The number that is calling me is (530)419-1756. However, if you call this number back, it goes to the national customer line.

I have never had an account or service with ADT or Defenders. They continue to call me. I have asked 4 times to be taken off the list. I receive phone calls every day and I this is disruptive to my students, since I teach all day. I have spoken with numerous customer service agents at both companies. One person said it takes 2 days to be taken off the list. The next person said it takes 2 weeks to be taken off the list. The third person transferred me to a different company hotline. The fourth person said it will take 90 days to be taken off the list.

Furthermore, I asked why I am receiving phone calls from them when I never contacted them. They said that by calling ADT, I was automatically transferred to them. They never identified themselves as Defenders Protect your Home when I called initially. Secondly, they said "1 out of 20" customers (which I am not a customer!) is called back for better offers. Based on the various information I was given previously about how long it would take to be removed from their do not call list, I doubt this is accurate either.

I am totally unsatisfied with this company's billing practices. I feel I have suffered a nightmare trying to resolve this issue with them. I also feel I pay my bill to them as contracted and am one of the last people they should have harassed.

Very unhappy. These people lie and tell you that you will get a system for free. A technician came and quoted me $5000 and said with the credit they gave me, my total cost was going to be $2800 and then $800 and then finally charged me $500. Also, they promised I was going to get a $100 gift card when installation happens. I was sent an email instructing me to download a certificate, fill that certificate, make a copy of the contract page and mail using regular mail along with $4.95 cashier's check for shipping. They do this to discourage people from getting their promised $100. The sales guy told me that the technician was going to give me the gift card when he came to do the installation.

Very annoyed and unhappy. I suggest you go to ADT and deal with them directly. You will definitely pay less.

I wonder how many people they scam into paying them $2000 for the same thing I paid $500 for ... and I also wonder what the same setup would've costed me if I'd gone with ADT directly.

The initial phone representative was informative and polite. The technician that came to our home was on time, knowledgeable, and polite. He cleaned up thoroughly and worked quickly. After installation he explained how to operate the system and helped us set up the app. The system definitely gives us peace of mind.

EXACTLY THE SAME HAPPENED TO ME AS ***. I HAVE BEEN PATIENTLY COMMUNICATING WITH THEM SINCE APRIL 2017 AND AGREED TO BE DOWNGRADED FOR A MONTHLY FEE OF $27.99. ADT REPRESENTATIVE SHOWED UP AND ADJUSTED THE ALARM SYSTEM. NO COMMUNICATION WITH THEM, WRITTEN OR VERBAL, NO BILLS OR STATEMENT RECEIVED, ON LINE ACCOUNT SHOWS ZERO BALANCE. NOW THEY WANT TO RUIN MY CREDIT STANDING BY SENDING ME A COLLECTION AGENCY. IT WAS A VERY TRAUMATIC EXPERIENCED THAT I AM STILL DEALING WITH THE COLLECTION AGENCY. I AM TRYING TO GET IN TO JUDGE JUDY SHOW TO LET THE CONSUMERS OF SW FLORIDA KNOW ABOUT THIS COMPANY. IF NOT, I AM FILING A CASE WITH THE SMALL CLAIM COURT FOR MORAL AND EMOTIONAL DAMAGES.

My alarm system was working until one day it just stopped. I was no longer receiving a signal. A had five service appointment scheduled, three of which a techs came out and couldn't find a signal no matter what they did. Two of the service appointments I was called during the arrival time to reschedule, one to order an additional part and the second time I requested a manager come and he called to say he wouldn't be of any additional help as he sent out his best tech, also he called during the service arrival time. I took off an entire day of work for all but one of the scheduled appointments. In the meantime the alarm was malfunctioning and beeping at all hours of the night periodically, and called ADT saying a burglar alarm was going off, but it wasnt. All while it didnt have a signal nor was it supposed to be working at all, and the alarm never went off in the house as someone was at home. The police were dispatched one time while my daughter was home and in the bathroom, she comes out to find two police officers walking through our house. After the final attempt to get a signal, after the system worked for two years and stopped. I was finally told I could be let out of the contract by a manager who was rude, and acted as if he was doing me a favor by saying I could be let out of the "contract without penalty", why would I be penalized for getting out of a contract where the system doesnt work? He told me I could have the system hooked up to my landline. I didnt get the system to hook it to my landline, as I wanted the Pulse option, which would allow for me to utilize the indoor camera as well as unlock the exterior door from my cell phone. I wouldnt have those option with the landline. I asked for a refund on the accessories I purchased, he wouldnt give me a refund or even a partial refund of any sort, and asked would I return a pair of shoes I had worn for two years if something happened to them? Now I am stuck with equipment I cant use. Each time I called in to customer service during this month long process, customer service was attentive and helpful, but once I had to communicate with management it was horrific. I will never purchase another system where it is managed by Defenders. I purchased the system thinking all aspects would be handled by ADT not Defenders. If ADT only knew how bad Defenders is making them look, they would part ways with them. Stay away from Defenders they are horrible!
