Yes it is correct that I had to go with another supplier to get out from the price gouging that I was being held at for two months straight due to the fact that response energy would not return any phone calls or emails regarding this matterThis to me is poor business practiceWhat kind of company can not return a simple phone call or emailAs well the average rates throughout the time I was overcharged was times lower than response chargesThis response to me does not change the fact that I was overcharged for a utilityThe fact is that it was irresponsible on response energy to not forward any media that prices were going to be high or so they say for electric generation.

We are sorry that the customer is dissatisfied with our response The average rates that are often quoted are really a mix of fixed offerings and introductory rates While you may not see a comparable rate to our current variable rates, please know that many suppliers have been charging even more to their current customers Those offering cent variables now are either offering an introductory rate or an estimate Again, we apologize that the customer had a bad experience

I'm glad to finally see the explanation on why the rate was so high, because I never got a call back before when I called Respond Power although I was told to be called back in hoursAlso the automatic phone message told me malis on the explanation have been sent out to consumers, whil I never received it
But I totally can't agree with suggestion on estimation of meter readingWhy should I contact with *** by myself? I was the consumer of Respond Power during the time of Febbillwhoever read the meters for Respond PowerIt's not my businessIt's the business between Respond Power and ***You two companies have whatever agreement on meter reading, but the consumers should have the right chargeRespond Power should charge me rightlyRespond Power should contact with *** to resolve this issue for the consumer
If there is a policy that the consumer needs to contact with *** directly by themselves on the problem of meter reading, please show meWhy should I contact with *** while I was the consumer of Respond Power? Respond Power charged me not right, so Respond Power has to correct it

The customer initially enrolled in a variable rate plan with our companyThe customer's signed sales agreement is attached for confirmationThe sales representatives from our partner vendors may state that historically our company has saved customers up to ten percent,
but are strictly prohibited from guaranteeing pricesWe will take the customer's comments into consideration as we continue evaluate our partner vendors
The rates on a variable rate plan are subject to change based on market conditions
Unfortunately, the energy market performed very poorly this past winter due to
decreases in energy supply and increases in demand due to the cold weatherWhile
suppliers like Major Energy/Respond Power base the rate on a daily rolling
average and hedging, most utilities purchase energy in massive block and adjust
quarterly or semi-annuallyBecause of that, sometimes suppliers find
themselves with higher rates than utilitiesEventually trends reverse and
utilities are forced to adjust their rates to make up for losses due to
underpriced supply sold to customers during high markets

On Dec ** this service provider enrolled me for 0.926/kwhWhen I called them and said it was a higher price they said they will de enroll me and enroll me to a new price which is 0.826/kwhThey processed the cancellation of first enrollment on dec *** and enrolled me for new rate on same dateHowever on Jan *** when I realised that this change did not reflect they said *** asked to withdraw the enrollment*** normally does not do thatWhat happened was this guys processed my first enrollment/de enrollment of Dec ** and did not communicate *** of enrollment of dec *** for 0.826/kwh
However due to their mistake they sent first cancellation notice to *** and finally did not enroll me at allThey have not notified me of de enrollmentMost irrespnocible service providers

The company did not answer my question, they avoided my questions. They did not explain how they determined the price to charge each month. They did not explain why customers were charged different amounts each month. For example, why did I pay cents per KWH while another customer who complained on here paid cents per KWH for the same month If it was the polar vortex to blame, why didn't everyone get charged a higher rate. This means that the company is arbitrarily charging customers the rate they choose which has nothing to do with the polar vortex. I did call customer service who to date has never called me back. You are never able to get someone when you call and your only option is to leave a message and wait for a call back. I have been waiting for several months for the company to call me back. Just so the company knows, I will not stop writing responses until the company chooses to do the right thing and reinburse me for the unfair price they charged me.

customer states that he thought he would save money on his energy bill and is
unhappy with his current rate
According to the signed sales
agreement (attached), *** agreed to a variable rate contract, meaning his
rate would be determined by the energy market.
We do not produce any literature that advises that our rates will always
be lower than the utility
Additionally, as has been widely
reported, there has been a spike in the wholesale energy market which was
reflected on the most recent billThis is merely a reflection of the current
energy market where a shrinking supply of electricity is under the strain of
massive demand due to one of the coldest Winters on recordWe are referring
customers to the February ***press release from the PUC regarding this issue
(Please see attached) In addition, this is not just happening in
Pennsylvania. Please see this link relating to New York prices as well

We apologize for any inconvenience the customer may have experiencedCustomer was billed according to the terms and conditions of the agreementOur company's representative properly stated that customer "could save up to 10%" with a fixed rate planThis holds true even if the rate the utility was offering at the time was lowerThe statement is true because the utility company's rates are determined on a quarterly basis, meaning customers can not know what their rates will be six to twelve months from any given timeThe following quarter's rates are however made available by the utilityAgain, the statement that the customer "could save up to 10%" is therefore true.
When customer spoke with a representative in March, a courtesy refund was offered alongside enrollment in the current fixed rateA similar offer at the company's current fixed rate offering of .084/kwh is available if the customer is interestedIf so, customer may speak with any representative of the company to re-enroll.
Customer's account has since been cancelled

I understand now how variable rates work now but that is not what I was sold or what the sales person represented to meIn the long run, there is no way I would have chosen to go with a variable rate because I would never have had to pay nearly as much as I did for several monthsThe owners of the property have never heard of prices being even half as much as we were payingThe representative from the company will lie to get you to sign up for Respond Power and they will take no credit for that mistake
