** ***, Has visited the gym times, all of our check ins are recorded within our databaseHis first visit was ***(the day he signed up), then ***, then ***He also claimed that he signed up online, to which he did not, he came into the gym and was shown around before he signed
up(procedure)Unfortunately I am not in a position to place any trust in anything that he has said due to a number or erroneous comments already madeThis facility is graded by the city and proudly displays our A grade in line with city requirementsUnder no circumstances will his membership be cancelled or any monies returned** *** should be aware that failure to pay his gym membership will result in fee's being added for non payment, and when arrears have surpassed a specific time period it will be passed to a collection agency for recovery

Yes the membership was cancelled after also sending a complaint to the PA Attorney General's office

On 5/**/the member came in to cancel her and her son's accountHowever, there was a past due payment under her son's accountWe informed the member that the membership would be canceled once the past payment was paid for

Contract says you have to pay 10% of total price of membership to cancel and the gym will not let us cancel and I keep getting the round around

We apologize that to date a remedy was not reached with the staff you contacted As I am now aware of your unused sessions expiring; as a courtesy, I have extended the expiration date through January While you requested a refund of sessions you currently have unused and
available sessions We are glad to see that you have begun utilizing your sessions again and hope you find them enjoyable All future billings have been discontinued, as per your request in the letter dated 12/*/

I have contacted *** in regards to the letter she sent to you The issue will be resolved very soon and I have zeroed out payments which she will not be responsible for

*** ***'s account is in a cancelled status with Retro Fitness in *** ***
She has been issued a refund of $
This will settle this complaint

after completing my membership contract of one year and choosing not to renew contract, Retro Fitness continued to debut my Check Card each month even though I informed them in writing I was no longer attending the gym anymore and to please cancel my membership! They continued to take money out of my account until finally I cancelled my Debut Card so they could not steal anymore money from me!t

The business has responded Please see below:In regards to the member's complaint about her membership and her assumption of employee's giving her information, she has provided untrue informationIn 2013, the member joined with the manager at the time and is trying to state that he told
her it was a payment agreement when it was actually at payment agreement and states so right where she was entering in all her informationThe member is also claiming that she came in to speak to a manager but he was too busy and clearly under the influence of narcotics, which is also untrue and defaming to both the previous who left in August of and was than passed over to myself and I have never been in contact with this client because it would have been documentedI have offered a compromise to this client that I will waive any late and service fees added to her past due invoices and also void her day notice for cancellation that is stated in her agreementI hope to be able to help with this member's unhappiness as I do with all my clients to the best of my ability

*** *** joined our facility on 07/15/at 7:29pm and paid $to joinThis $consisted of a $initiation fee + $first month's duesThe membership is for months and within that term Retro Fitness charges an annual fee on December 1st or August 1st each year

At this time, I have been contacted
directly by Retro Fitness regarding complaint ID ***, however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
[Your Answer Here]
There were several correspondences back and forth with Retro Fitness, both over the phone and via emailThe owners tried to strong arm me into paying a settlement cancellation fee, which I refused because there is no signed agreementWhen they realized they have no way to prove their fraudulent claim and that I was not going to relent, they emailed me saying they would refund me the full amount in three installmentsThey refunded me the first installmentHowever, I had already disputed the full amount with *** ***, so they reversed the credited amount*** advised me not to drop the dispute because if I do, they cannot help me should Retro Fitness decide not to refund me the next two installmentsSo, as of now they have not refunded me the money and my disputes are pending.
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above

The business has responded Please see below:
*** *** is claiming that Retro Fitness is making it difficult for her to cancel, which is incorrectI am extremely sorry that she
had that experience, however, we here at Retro Fitness pride ourselves on customer service and we try very hard to make every aspect of membership as smooth as possible, including cancellationShe claims that due to her work schedule she can not make it into the club to fill out the cancellation paperwork, however, Retro Fitness is open from 4am to Midnight Monday through Friday, from 6am-10pm on Saturday and from 6am-8pm on SundayTherefore, we are available for her to come cancel either before work, after work, or on one of her days offThis should not be a tremendous inconvenience considering that *** lives less than a mile away from the clubTherefore we do not find it to be unreasonable to ask someone to come in and cancelIt is important for us to have their cancellation in writing because our agreements are legally binding contracts, therefore we need to keep their records complete and accurateHowever, as detailed in her contract, should she not be able to make it in person she can always send a letter, certified mail to the clubs address requesting cancellationAlso, at no point did she ask to speak with the manager, because this is the first I am hearing about this attempted cancellationAs detailed in her contract she can cancel at any time after her minimum one year commitment by providing a day noticeI will take her complaint with the Revdex.com as a request to cancel and put in her day notice effective immediatelyAs such, she will be responsible for the months of October and November for a remaining total balance of $39.98, because this is a cancellation notice and not a penalty, she will have club access until December *** and should feel free to use the club until thenShould she have any further questions, she can feel free to reach me directly at ###-###-#### between the hours of 11am and 8pm or via email at ***All the best, Iliana D*** - General Manager of Retro Fitness of New Rochelle

When you first go into this gym people are nice and friendly until you join then when you sign your contract beware that the contract is for only one year but in fine print it says they will auto renew the contract they did this for two years with out me knowing until I was issued a new credit card at this time they where unable to charge me any more money so they charged me and additional $to terminate my membership if I did not do this they would continue to charge me and put me in collections and attack my creditThis is a scam of a business and they do not care about the customer only the money If they were customer friendly they would wave any more money knowing that I stopped going to the gym due to moving out of the area and they already took money for a membership I did not use for over two years

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered]

March 9, 2016To Whom It May Concern,
I have received the notification today from Revdex.com regarding a former member’s complaint against our establishmentThe member in question claims to have cancelled his membership in January and was wrongfully charged an additional month in
February. The member in question signed up under a month to month agreement which allowed him to cancel at any time given he provides a day written noticeThis policy is stated clearly in the membership agreement he agreed upon as well as stated in bold on the cancellation letter he completed and signed to avoid any confusion on the final bill.In reviewing this matter it is discovered that the member did not cancel in January but cancelled his membership on February 17th with his final bill occurring on February 24thHis signature on both the original agreement and cancellation letter confirmed his knowledge of this policyIn addition the member took to social media to try and leverage a poor review of our establishment for a refundI have attached documentation of this conversation where said member once again falsifies information stating he cancelled in January then later identifies he did cancel in FebruaryI tried to ask to speak to the member directly however he already said he called our facility with no help providedIn his complaint the member notes to calling our company on March 1st however I have reviewed all phone calls from that date since every call is recorded and that proved to be as wellDue to the reasons provided above we will not issue a refund for this memberIf you need any further documentation from our company please let me know so that I may provideThank you,
Andrew S

My vehicle was broken into this past August with a few other cars while at the gym early one morningThe employee on duty that day was new and there was no manager or owner on the premesisThe employee did not know how to.use the PA system so he did not alert the members that a break in had occurredThe police were at my car waiting for me and informed me of the incidentThe gym does not have sufficient lighting and close parking is scarceThe police also informed me that gym had experienced vehicle break-ins a few weeks before this incidentMembers were never informedWhen I finally spoke to a manager, Steve, I was told that crime is natural and that I need to deal with itAfter that I spoke with the manager who gave me free months and said since I was a woman I needed to park closer from now on
I tried going back to the gym but I did not feel comfortableI decided to cancel my membership and was instructed to send a certified letterI did and then called to verify after

Revdex.com:At this time, I have not been contacted by Retro Fitness regarding complaint ID ***.Sincerely,*** ***
