Dear Ms***,I did not state that the Revdex.com requested you reject in any interest chargesI state that you rejected the charge put through by the tour operator of ** *** *** *** You did confirm to me that you did go through the process of denying the charge last week when we talked. We have offered to compensate you as I stated in the response any interest you may have incurred or the difference in any exchange rates between the US charge from the hotel and the refund they processed.I do not dispute the fact that you tried to call and email our office. However, on the voucher you had for the hotel it did state to call the emergency number if you had any issues with the booking which they could have resolved charges before your check out. Unfortunately because this was not resolved prior to departure from the hotel we had to go to both the hotel and tour operator on your behalf to try to resolve as they were the ones who had physically charged your cardAgain we appologize for any inconvenience and distress this caused you. Sincerely,*** ***

Hi!I’m not sure how I can update a complaint I filed with the Revdex.com against Retro Fitness in Easton, PA. The owner contacted me directly after she
received your letter. She refunded the membership fees and listened to how long this has been going on and how much stress this caused. She was very sympathetic, apologetic and corrected the issue by cancelling the membership and refunding months of fees.I’d like to make sure this is noted on the complaint that Holly was kind enough to call me and listen and resolved the issue.Thank you for your help as well.*** ***

The business did terminate the account the following Monday morning early on assuring me the account would be terminated and no further charges to my card would occurThe use of and outside billing office lends itself to issues like this.I am satisfied the business has acted on my issuesI will find out next month

January 27, Dear Sir or Ma’am:
This letter is in response to complaint ID *** regarding Retro Fitness of ManassasWe have attempted to work with this member to resolve the disputeThe member’s account is currently in collections because he has refused to pay the last
payment required in order to cancel the account effectivelyPer the contract agreement, all members are required to provide a day noticeDuring this day notice, any invoice scheduled for draft is required to be paidThis member canceled his account on August 16th, and provided proof of moveWe explained to him that he owed the last payment scheduled to draft on August 26th, of $He refused to make the final payment which has put him in a collection status.Although our business is incurring additional fees for the collections process, I’ve still offered he only owes the $and no additional fees for late payments or collection fees, Per his agreement, he has a $balance for the final payment and until final payment is received he will remain in collectionsBest regards,Kelly A

RevDex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me

For medical reasons I needed to cancel my gym membership, I went to the establishment 1/*/to do soWhen I got there I was told I had to send in a letter requesting my cancellation certified by mail that I would need to pay for and it will take days to cancelThis came as a shock to me because my fiance canceled his membership a few months ago with days notice and he walked in to the place of businessI told the associate that I am here at the office now it doesnt make sense that I need to go home mail a letter to you when I am here right now, and that you are requiring days notice, especially since this was because of a medical conditionHe basically shooed me away so I left very upsetI later then messages the establishment on the facebook account they have for any inquiriesI again was told some generic answer and was not helped at all when I included again how this is a medical condition, they continued to tell me that it is in the contract I signedI told them

After looking over the contract on file and speaking with the ***
*** for personal training of that gym it is apparent that *** *** signed his agreement and everything is clearly documentedMy *** in that facility clearly remembers not only signing *** up for a personal training agreement but furthermore remembers he was exciting about committingIf *** would like we are willing to come to a resolution by cancelling out any further payments for personal training but we will void out any personal training sessions paid for in place of a cancellation feeThanks, ***

Cancled account over phone with there billing agency but they continue to bill and are threaten me with collection agency
I have stop using Retro Fitness when my debit card had expired The billing agency still is trying to collect the monthly membership duesI verbilily told them to cancel my membership They have been harassing me and threating me with a collection agency

Never join this gym I had my account and my wife's account frozen in June due to a car accident I went into the gym to have it continue frozen until December I spoke to one of the workers at the front desk She went into the back to speak to the manager who wouldn't even come out to talk to me She said she took care of it A few days later I see I'm being billed when I shouldn't be I call the gym and they said by mistake they didn't freeze my wife's account and the manager will call me back on the next business day No one called me back I then sent a certified letter saying to just cancel our accounts due to the horrible customer service I get an email that my "membership agreement" states I will continue to be billed until January No one answers the phone at this company's corporate headquarters to help me with this issue So in the end they want me to pay a combined $until January and I can't even use the facility due to a car accidentAwful company

left;"> All members are notified upon joining verbally and electronically of their obligations and what is required when membership needs to be terminatedThe terms and conditions state quite clearly that all requests to terminate must be sent in writing via certified mailIt is also explicitly explained how the contract enters a state of Automatic renewal, members sign to agree they have been thoroughly explained of this matterThere are absolutely NO methods to cancel the agreement in person or on the phoneAdditionally the first note in the members account is dated in October when the mother called the gym, subsequently calling everyone is and demanding owed monies returnedThere will be absolutely no money returned

My membership was frozen due to my medical issues with my spine Retro unfroze my account without notifying me and tried to start charging my credit card They then said they contacted me but didn't and from owing $ they now say I owe them over $ On top of this, they asked me to get a doctors note from over a year ago to say I need my account to be frozen I had surgery on my spine/neck and the first doctors note should have been sufficient until I got a note to authorize me to return to the gym Now I am told I must pay a fee of $to have my account taken out of collections and additional fees for an error on Retro's account I don't have a clue how to get this resolved but the word around this gym is they are good in charging your credit card and not giving your money back after you freeze or cancel your account Is this legal?

*** *** husband did come in to settle final payment on the accountA past due amount was not paid, which was necessary in order to finalize the membership cancellation. All payments have been take care of, and *** *** account has been removed from collections, and canceled, with
no further payments due. Please let me know if there is any additional information you need from me

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Retro Fitness regarding complaint ID ***, however my complaint has NOT been resolved
because:
The manager is going to let me make up the training sessions with my original trainer (she is back from sick leave) however he refuses to give me a credit for being charged twice in Dec I contacted my credit card company and they requested contract to dispute the charge and they blocked retro from charging me again even thou I didn't want them to do that because that could affect me credit score So when I went to ask for a copy of my contract the manager said the first contract doesn't exist anymore only the new one I said never wanted to sign up for a new one When he changed my contract fee from to he automatically signed me up for another month I was furious when he told me that because I was very specific that I don't want to be committed anymore because I don't trust them He suggested for me to go to the doctor and get a note that I'm hurt and he will cancel my contract I said absolutely not and that he has to fix it I'm waiting for his response it's been a week I'm so disappointed with the way they are handling customers issues please help and advice what should I do

We respectfully refer the complainant to the contract There have been no contract modifications since the inception of the business and there are no allegations that the gym did not adhere to the contract The allegation is that the member did not understand or did not read the contract While the the responsibility to read and comprehend the contract is the responsibility of each party we continue to offer an extension of the personal training sessions as a courtesy to the member's misunderstanding

The business advertised a guest pass on their website and did not accept the guest passThe manager claimed that it was corporate that was advertising and they were choosing not to participating in accepting the guest passHowever, the link to get the guest pass is not located in the corporate website but was instead located on the website for that specific locationThe link says "Try us for free." After clicking the link you than must provide your email information to get the guest pass and the guest pass is sent to your emailThe fact that the only excuse for not accepting the guest past was that it was corporate and they couldn't control it is bogus and does not change the fact that we drive an hour to the facility to be denied entry because we were mislead to believe we could use the guest passWe were told that we must pay the dollar free to use the gym insteadThis is a completely unethical bait and switch tactic and should be taken seriouslyIf the link was only placed

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ***, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
This gym hasn't been helpful in resolving my issue and at this point I am so aggravated that I do not want them to simply give me back my sessions they cancelledNot only that they are only giving me a month to use the sessions after them giving me the runaround on this issue since AugustThe staff there have no idea what is going on and for all I know my sessions will be cancelled before we even hit JanuarySo them offering me back those sessions is unsatisfactory especially considering the stress they put me under trying to resolve his issueIt's not as though I am asking for much, $is peanuts to them whereas I could use that money to pay billsNot to mention them charging my card without my authorization put strain on my monthly budgetsThey are thieves and I do not want anything more to do with this gymIf I got food poisoning at a restaurant, do you think I would ever eat there again? No, and simply offering me another meal, instead of refunding my money,at that tainted restaurant wouldn't cut it

Because of privacy clauses, our billing company-ABC Financial-acknowledges memberships by the agreement number
A photo of ***'s account, including his agreement number, is attached, for confirmation
There had been a delay in the refund process, but ABC confirmed as recently as this morning that it is pending ***, Apologies for the delay; we hope that our handling of this was as satisfactory as your year of fitness with us was ***, the franchisee for our location, is CCed here if you have any other questions that I am unable to provide answers toSincerely, Ben B*** General Manager Retro Fitness

The business has responded Please see below:*** *** is claiming that Retro Fitness is making it difficult for her to cancel, which is incorrectI am extremely sorry that she had that experience, however, we here at Retro Fitness pride ourselves on customer service and we try very hard
to make every aspect of membership as smooth as possible, including cancellationShe claims that due to her work schedule she can not make it into the club to fill out the cancellation paperwork, however, Retro Fitness is open from 4am to Midnight Monday through Friday, from 6am-10pm on Saturday and from 6am-8pm on SundayTherefore, we are available for her to come cancel either before work, after work, or on one of her days offThis should not be a tremendous inconvenience considering that *** lives less than a mile away from the clubTherefore we do not find it to be unreasonable to ask someone to come in and cancelIt is important for us to have their cancellation in writing because our agreements are legally binding contracts, therefore we need to keep their records complete and accurateHowever, as detailed in her contract, should she not be able to make it in person she can always send a letter, certified mail to the clubs address requesting cancellationAlso, at no point did she ask to speak with the manager, because this is the first I am hearing about this attempted cancellationAs detailed in her contract she can cancel at any time after her minimum one year commitment by providing a day noticeI will take her complaint with the Revdex.com as a request to cancel and put in her day notice effective immediatelyAs such, she will be responsible for the months of October and November for a remaining total balance of $39.98, because this is a cancellation notice and not a penalty, she will have club access until December *** and should feel free to use the club until thenShould she have any further questions, she can feel free to reach me directly at ###-###-#### between the hours of 11am and 8pm or via email at ***All the best, Iliana D*** - General Manager of Retro Fitness of New Rochelle
