Ron Carter Cadillac, Hyundai, Genesis Reviews (104)

Mr. [redacted],Ron Carter Hyundai is the #1 Hyundai Volume Hyundai Dealership in Texas. We do this by selling cars to several hundred happy and satisfied customers each month. While we are proud of this fact it does come with challenges....

When regularly selling over 400 new Hyundai’s and preowned vehicles per month misunderstandings can and do occur from time to time. The vehicle lease contract, like any lease agreement cannot simply be "terminated" prematurely. Early termination, while possible and with costs, is subject to terms clearly outlined in the lease contract. The confusion likely stems from the optional "Excess Wear & Tear" (addendum) you purchased to protect your investment. That agreement can be cancelled at any time for any reason, on a pro-rata basis. Simply put. They are two separate agreements. We certainly apologize for any confusion and inconvenience this may have caused.Sincerely,Ron Carter Hyundai
Customer’s Statement of the Problem: I leased a vehicle from Ron Carter at the Oct 30, 2015. While I was in the business office finalizing the paperwork, I asked the Business Manager about what would happen if I terminate the lease early. He (Kerry M[redacted]) said that the addendum which I signed covered early termination and I could cancel the lease without penalty after 24 months. I was quite excited about this clause and I made sure of this by asking him to re-affirm the early termination clause and he re-affirmed it. He said that it was covered in the addendum to the lease contract. When I reviewed the paperwork upon returning home I discovered that the early termination clause was not in writing. Thinking that I would get the entire package and clauses in the mail, I waited for the information from Hyundai Lease. When I did not get the information, I approached the dealership and was told that I could come by to pick up the early termination clause. I was presented a printed documented which has some wording but the wording did not seem correct and so I was lead to another Business Manager. When I asked this manager to sign off on this clause, he flat out refused and said that he does not have to do anything. I then approached the General Manager - Christian and he assured me that what the Finance Manager told me was correct. I was also assured by Kerry M[redacted] that the early termination clause was correct. The next week, I called Hyundai Lease to verify what I was told and Hyundai Finance said that the early termination clause was something in the past. I then realized that I was deceived when I leased the vehicle. I contacted the General Manager and told him that I waned to return the vehicle. He then had the Finance Manager Scott call me and Scott told me that the addendum covered the Early Termination fee if I would terminate after 36 months and lease another vehicle. Scott also told me how much I saved on the purchase of the vehicle. What happened at this dealership is a deception to create a lease and all of the members there are in on it including the Sales, Finance and General Manager. For a dealership this size, I am shocked by the deception.

When regularly selling and leasing over 400 new [redacted]’s and preowned vehicles per month misunderstandings can and do occur from time to time. Regardless, you certainly should have received the best treatment possible from our team and a clear explanation of our pricing and any limitations. Our apologies. We feel that part of the confusion may have stemmed from discussing leasing terms and purchase price on two different vehicles at the same time. The programs that [redacted]prise a purchase price are not [redacted]patible with leasing, and thus the lease price was significantly higher. We are disappointed anytime we can't consummate a deal with a customer. It is clear that you made the trip to see us with the sincere goal to drive your new car home on Saturday. We apologize for anything that we did to frustrate your plan to do so. As you requested, we would be happy to reimburse you for the cost of your trip to and from Houston. Regards,
The company said that I was approved for a lesser note I never saw any documents stating these actions and based on what they are saying they may still sell all these cars but the reviews of this company is poorly. I have a email stating do not pull my credit a lot trying to get me approved also was told it was pulled one time I also have 15 lenders that pulled my credit stating on behalf of Ron carter we are trying to get You a loan so now with that being said my credit report for some reason has dropped since this. I am not happy with what they are saying they lie to people to get them down there and don't respect people I was also told the owner would call me because of the way the GM maneger treated that never happened either lied again I do not recommend people using this company at now because of this I have to dispute all these inquiries because I was lied to and have to pay someone to do this $[redacted]. A month not happy thank u [redacted] br>

Mr.
Rutherford,
Thank you for your feedback.
We apologize for any...

miscommunication or misunderstanding.  Our website states that not all customers will qualify
for the advertised price and to see the dealer for details. Dealer installed
features, such as window tint, are not included in the advertised prices. Unfortunately,
when managing an inventory of over 1000 vehicles on occasion some vehicles may
be in the temporary possession of other potential buyers affecting odometer miles
and the timely installation of dealer installed features. We do our best to
keep up with changes with our inventory and in no way intend to deceive.
In regard to repairing your window tint, this feature includes a lifetime warranty,
so we would be delighted to facilitate having this replaced. [redacted] should
have reached out to you and offered to pick up and drop off your vehicle at
your convenience. If she has not please contact [redacted], New Car Sales
manager, at [redacted].
Warm Regards,
Ron Carter Cadillac

Regards,
The car I got was the exact car on the ad on their site
It did say the tint was included
I have not heard from anyone to fix my tint
I drove over 70 miles round trip to get it done plus took over
four hours out of my work day and was told that they were not even going to be open for another hour after that

I request they send the tint people to me as I do not want another 70 plus miles on my car because of their not telling me the truth or resolving the matter

[redacted],Thank for sharing your concern regarding our promise that a $300 gift card comes with each new Hyundai purchase and keeping us posted as you checked your mail. We are happy to hear that you received your gift card.Ron Carter...

Hyundai

Thank you for your feedback we appreciate your having shopped with us. We take our customer's concerns seriously. Ron Carter Hyundai is the #1 Hyundai store in the Houston area. We do this by selling cars to several hundred happy and satisfied customers each month. While we...

are proud of this fact it does come with challenges. When regularly selling 500 new Hyundai’s and preowned vehicles per month misunderstandings can and do occur from time to time. On our website, each vehicle’s detail page fully explains how our prices are determined and breaks down all discounts and rebates in great detail. On all inquiries we ask our sales team to explain that the price shown is “after all rebates and discounts”. If we did not do this, we apologize. Yes, some rebates you must qualify for, others not. In regards to the dealer installed features not being on the vehicle that you selected, you are absolutely correct, we should have sold you the vehicle without any “add-ons”. As discussed during your most recent visit with us, we would be happy to sell you vehicle with no installed features at the advertised price. If you would like to pursue this offer, please contact our General Manager, [redacted], directly at [redacted]
Again, we appreciate your having visited with us and apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely,[redacted]

This was by far the most horrible experience we have ever had at a dealership. We live almost 5 hours away, and had decided to make the drive to get a used car we had been searching for. I felt confident in making this drive since I felt that we had pretty much squared everything away on the phone, but when we arrived it was a totally different story. Not only would they not come off their price any (which we knew beforehand) but they also had a hidden $3,000 "accessory package" that was non-negotiable. It is supposed to cover oil changes, tire rotations, etc. But you are stuck with it whether you want it or not. This was not disclosed to me at ANY time during our phone conversation or on their website. So if you are looking at a car, go ahead and add $3k to the price of the car (not including taxes or their other fees). If a $3k addition was not enough, they also offered me almost $10k less for my trade than they had quoted me on the phone (I knew it was an estimate on the phone, but they were still $4,500 lower than several other dealers who had appraised our vehicle). They also tried tricking us into thinking we were getting more for our trade in value by adding our tax credit to the trade allowance. That is not correct! Be prepared to read every line in detail and ask questions before you go. I was told 3 different things by 3 different people in a matter of a few minutes. I had the unfortunate experience of getting to work with Steven...if you are so lucky to hear his smug voice when you call, do yourself a favor and ask to speak with someone else. He apparently is so impressed with his position as manager that he seems to think everyone else is just too stupid to possibly understand the car buying process and he must speak down to you and explain things to you as if you are just too dumb to keep up. Unfortunately for them, my husband and I did extensive research and could see straight through their BS. After spending 3 hours at the dealership going around and around with them trying to move numbers around in an attempt to trick us, we eventually just walked out and drove our car home. They want to brag about their prices, but they are able to price them that way because they add on the $3k package that you cannot get rid of. Do not fall for their tricks. I am not saying you will not find a good car there or have a good experience, but do your research and be prepared before you go. We were literally $1k away from what buying the exact same car brand new would have cost us. It was the most frustrating experience. Basically, my advice would be to be very leery of this dealership and to avoid working with Steven at all costs. He is the one I spoke with on the phone that gave me very different information from when we arrived. I am really not sure how he got a managerial position with that type of demeanor towards customers. Not only was he rude towards us, but he also talked down to his partner (who we actually liked) which was extremely rude and disrespectful. If you want to spend AT LEAST $5k over what you think your price will be, then this is the dealership for you. I will say that their facility was nice and I saw several people that seemed to be working hard. Just keep in mind that they have that nice facility because they are tricking so many people. Don't be one of them.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I just wanted to add that the new ownership and the new General Sales Manager (Christian) at Ron Carter Hyundai Clear Lake a[redacted] with the staff went above and beyond to satisfy my needs.
Before I wrote this claim I was unaware that there was a change in employment at Ron Carter. The 2 people Anthony and Veronica were 2 of the nastiest people I have ever meet in my life and I wouldn't of referred  my worse enemy to them. Now that I have dealt with Christian my whole attitude has changed. He is the most down to earth, caring, friendliest guy I have ever meet and and am proud to say I have meet him.
With what he did for my family and I. I will be a life [redacted] customer to Ron Carter Hyundai!
Thanks,

This car lot was the worst experience I've ever had with buying a new car! They are deceptive, liars, and aggressive when you tell them you wan't to think about it overnight before purchasing a vehicle.
Things they lied about:
1) Their pricing, online they show their price at about $14000 for a 2017 elantra. This couldn't be further from the truth, expect to go in paying $17000. Also, they add a bogus $3000 Ron Carter package to their cars that you cannot get out of. They state that you cannot build a vehicle and have it shipped to them. You can only buy what they have on their lot, which is another lie. This package is none other than the $800 equipment package and a few other accessories such as bumper coating for a few hundred bucks, nowhere near the $3000 they claim.
2) They claim you can't combine certain cash back incentives and rebates, but this is false, you can combine all you qualify for (except combining leasing and 0% apr financing with specific others). [redacted] proved them wrong when I bought a car from them for $14750, after they combined the cash incentives and rebates that Ron Carter Hyundai said that you could not. They lied right to my face, claiming this is impossible.
3) They wouldn't honor their [redacted] price match +$500 when I tried to trade in my Jeep. They stated that it had a recall on it. I told them I would get the recall taken care of, but they tried to talk me out of it and trade it in today. They stated that it would cost them money to get the recall done because they are a dealership, I'm not sure if this is a lie or not, but based on my history with them, it probably is. It sounds like just another reason to try and screw me over.
4) They claimed that all the other Hyundai dealerships were sister companies and that the pricing would be the same as theirs. This is in fact a lie, none of these Hyundai dealerships have anything to do with them, probably because they are scam artist.
The salesperson got aggressive when I said I didn’t want to buy and wanted to think about it. When I told him I called other dealerships and got better prices he became very aggressive and said “Where is the buyer’s order then!”, guess what, my buyer’s order is my brand new 2017 Elantra for $1500 less than what you could offer after haggling on price for 4 hours. They also honor their prices unlike you guys. To top it off, I didn't have to haggle with them at all. I just went to [redacted], test drove the car, looked over the numbers, and bought their car. It took a total of two hours. I wasted 4 hours at Ron Carter and got nowhere.
When I left I noticed my [redacted] offer was missing from my car and when I went back in to get it, the salesperson got frustrated and said they put it in the shredder bin. I asked him why they think it would be a good idea to shred my documents and to get it back. He reluctantly said, hold on I’ll go see if I can get a key to the shredder bin. He came back with my paper, so he lied about that too. It's almost as if he took it out of spite, very professional Ron Carter.
Ron Carter Hyundai was the worst dealership I've ever dealt with by far. Save yourself the trip, go to [redacted] and save yourself money and time. I am in no way affiliated with any of these dealerships in any way, shape, or form. I just don't like when car lot's try to scam customers and lie to you and get aggressive when you don't want to buy their vehicle. Nobody should have to deal with these thieves.
Also, I found out that this car lot offers their customers incentives for good reviews. Be weary of their good reviews because they are probably paid for. I get absolutely nothing to do this review except for the satisfaction of knowing that other's will know this car lot is nothing but garbage.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  I am not satisfied with this resolution because all the information they are trying to provide now should have been provided at the time of purchased & explained in detail before asking me to sign these documents. Key replacement, dent removal (limited) & some gold pkg. and charging me $[redacted] for some car care items is a rip-off. They know if it had been explained in full no person in their right mind would have bought into it. They take advantage of the unsuspecting person or someone they think is desperate. Well, I'm not and will never recommend anyone I know to buy from this dealer. Some of the other dealerships must know of their scrupulous ways because they mention their name as soon as they hear of these ridiculous schemes these finance mgrs. use to get business. Information about my income in obtaining this loan was falsified because [redacted] called for verification of some info that I did not submit. Then I find out later that another lender picked up the loan. NO, NO, NO unacceptable resolution. There are exceptions to every rule. They took my down  payment, inflated the purchase price and added a $[redacted] pkg. to this selling price and it's just like getting robbed. I don't have to accept this resolution to get the information I should have received at the very beginning if they were reputable about what they sell.

You sure do have communication problems. Another thing you have is staff that lies and uses Bait and Switch tactics on consumers. I car further support my statement since your company FABRICATED the "Sold Car Story" just to cover its misconduct on Bait and Switch. Instead you should have admitted the misconduct, took action, and trained employees not to do it. As I see, now you teach employees to cover up their misconduct. I got a mail from Ron Carter Hyundai stating that they have an ultimate buyback event. The letter printed my name, vehicle year, and model. The black book value is $16,980, and their 20% over black book value offer is $[redacted]. I called their phone number, 1-[redacted] The answering lady told me they will honor this offer, and the only thing I have to do is bring the letter with me. Just to clarify the details of the offer, I called 3 times in the next 3 days. I got the same answer each time. The last time I even asked whom I should talk to when I get there; she told me to ask for [redacted] So I drove there in the heavy rain on Memorial Day, planning to sell my car. I asked my wife to drive another car to accompany me, so I can come home once the car is sold. When I got there, the person in the store front told me that they put my name in the big touch screen in the front, and then told me to wait for [redacted] I was waiting for him when Mr. [redacted] came by and offered to help me. I showed him the mail, and gave him my key, remote, and saw the truck. Then he went in and asked his manager to see the truck again. Twenty minutes later they told me that they would only offer $[redacted] When I asked him why, he said that the truck has more options, and is out of warranty. So after 2 hours of driving, multiple phone confirmations, a physical copy of the offer, they denied what they wrote and said. The bottom line is they denied everything they wrote in the mail, they told me on the phone, and they are not going to honor what they said.
