Review: I am a co-signer on my granddaughters Salliemae Student Loans. Every month I pay $100.00 plus interest and charges. The loan was sent up to require only $25.00 a month. Only $25.00 is credited to the remaining balance and the additional money is being held in an account until the graduation date of the student. Therefore, I am being charged interest that does not consider the additional amount a month that I have paid enabeling SallieMae to collect additional interest. I asked for an complete accounting for the amount I have paid. For example, the bill I received had a balance of $4168.11 and this is the amount on which the interest for the next month would be determined. While in reality, I had paid an additional $1,001.00 which was being held in a separate account and would be , as far as I could determine, would be returned at the end of the loam. Therefore, each SllieMae is able to charge additional interest on the balance of my accounrDesired Settlement: I want all excess interest returne to me or credited to the account and all payments deducted from the current balance. I want SallieMae to report the exact balance of the account and to charge interest only on that amount.

I ASKED THEM TO CREDIT THE ACCOUNT 9 DAYS OF INTEREST SINCE IT TOOK THEM THAT LONG TO GET ME THE PAYOFF NOTICE. THEY CLAIM THEY CAN NOT DO IT! THEY SAY IT'S A SYSTEM GENERATED LETTER THEY CAN NOT JUST SEND IT.....ABSOLUTELY RIDICILOUS. THEY STALL ON GETTING YOU INFORMATION TO COLLECT MORE INTEREST. Review: Sallie Mae will not correct an issue that has been ongoing since 10/27/2014. I had a payment submitted ($7,342.10) from [redacted] to pay off the entire balance of my loan and the payment has not been applied to my account. I have had multiple conversations, including three three-way calls between [redacted] and Sallie Mae to have the issue resolved to no avail. My first point of contact with a Sallie Mae supervisor was on 11/04/2014 at 11:00am CST when I spoke to [redacted]. He instructed that a complaint will be filed and in 3-5 days a resolution should be met. After the length of time that was provided to me by [redacted] from Sallie Mae had passed, I called again on 11/11/2014 at 2:00pm CST and spoke to [redacted], who now told me that the monetary department has not responded and they are now requesting additional information from me as to the details of the payment.

Throughout the course of the next three days I spoke to six different [redacted] representatives to obtain additional information before talking to [redacted] from Sallie Mae. [redacted] initiated a three-way call between Sallie Mae and Navient to check if Navient had received my funds (Navient was formed due to a recent split of Sallie Mae). Navient was unable to provide any information, so [redacted] now initiated a three-way call with [redacted] to obtain additional details. Minor information was provided and we were given the direct line to the fund manager who would not be in until the following morning. [redacted] from Sallie Mae advised we would call in the morning.

[redacted] called me on 11/14 at 12:10pm CST to attempt a three-way call with [redacted], fund manager from [redacted]. After the first attempt was unsuccessful we eventually reached [redacted] by calling [redacted]'s main operating line. [redacted] and [redacted] had a discussion pertaining to my lost payment and why it has not been located or applied to my account. I was informed that enough information was obtained and that the issue should be resolved shortly. On 11/14 at 2:25pm CST, [redacted] fund manager, called me to inform me she again spoke with someone from Sallie Mae and they found the error and it would be corrected by the beginning of the following week.

On 11/20 at 1:05pm CST, I contacted Sallie Mae after the payment was still not applied to my account. During this call, Sallie Mae originally informed me that they were waiting on additional information. I requested to speak to a manager and was transferred to [redacted] was not able to provide me with any reassuring news other than the fact they were looking into the issue between Sallie Mae and Navient, where the payment may have ended up. At the point of this call that let me know that they are still in the process of looking into it, I have spoken to a total of 19 representatives between both companies spanning over 16 days. I have no assurance that this will be resolved and I now have $7,342.10 of additional personal debt that is attached to my name that I continue to accrue interest on and make payments.Desired Settlement: Sallie Mae correctly applies the balance of $7,342.10 to my account for the payment that was sent by [redacted] on October 27th, 2014 and fully reimburses me the interest that has been applied to my account since the date of original payment.

Review: I made a payment over the phone to Sallie Mae on November 13th of $150.46 and on November 14th they took a second payment out of my checking account for $150.26. The second payment was not authorized. The first payment they took out as a check and the second payment as a debit purchase. I have spoken to Sallie Mae several times over the past 5 days and I sent them 4 doctuments from my bank stating and showing what was taken out. Sallie Mae will not refund me the second payment because they don't show where it was applied to my loan. I can see it was never apllied but it was taken out of my checking out. They have been rude and I have sent them every document they have asked for.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

Review: Hello. My name is [redacted], and I took out a $7,000 private loan with Sallie Mae in order to fill my gap to attend college for a year. Over the past six months, I've payed down the interest and chipped away at the principle amount bit by bit, until my balance arrived at $6779.06 as of yesterday. I had saved up enough money to pay it off, and I did so as of yesterday. The entire balance was payed off. This was a HUGE relief, as they had been scamming me with an interest rate of over 12%! Today, when I logged into my account, I was shocked to see that there was STILL an outstanding balance on my loan! They accrued INTEREST on it, despite the fact I payed it off in full! YOU CAN'T CHARGE INTEREST ON A LOAN THAT HAS BEEN COMPLETELY PAYED OFF, SALLIE MAE! I am extremely frustrated with my situation. I take responsibility, save up enough money with my $8.25/hour grocery job, and get SLAPPED in the face by a stupid bank I never should have used in the first place! They charged me $43.61 in interest. I REFUSE to pay this, as you people just made TONS of money off of me in accrued interest.Desired Settlement: I desire for Sallie Mae to apologize for their wrongful actions towards me in regards to wrongful interest charges on my account. When someone steps outside of their boundaries to pay off a SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLAR LOAN, they DO NOT deserve to be charged INTEREST! You CANNOT charge interest on a loan that doesn't exist, let alone have an existing balance! I desire for them to remove the $43.61 in interest they slapped onto my account, and apologize for their wrongful actions towards me and my education. Thank you, and have a great day.

Review: On February 12, 2015 I voluntarily called Sallie Mae in referrence to calls they were making in collecting a debt.I had been making monthly payments of 125.00 and was wondering why I was in late payment, I had frequently checked account online as was directed and saw nothing wrong. When I finally got thru to a live person, I was told that although I was making a payment there were two accounts. I stated that I had no idea and why wasn't it listed on line. I was told one account was openned in April 2014 and one in Oct 2014. When I questioned why I was never sent a statement showing both accounts she had no answer ands said she would correct now. I than asked what amount would bring account upto date, and was told approximately 475.00 by March 3, 2015. I stated that payment would be made by then in the amount requested and a new payment of 175.00 a month would follow there after. Was told it would noted in the notes. I told the harassing would stop until then. unfortunately it has not, here I am one week later still getting phone calls at all hours of the day and night. If I did not reach out to them to correct the situation I would understand but I did reachout and expect some kind of relief this is no way to conduct business. I have yet receive a corrected statement showing both accounts and how payment is divided, which I was told is the problem. Also, I have not missed a payment it is how it is divided.Desired Settlement: Refrain from harassing phone calls

Review: Good morning, I would like to file a complaint about Sallie Mae. I am a co-signer for my sons college loan. I have paid them approximately $2000.00 in payments but have been reported as deliquent on my credit score. I have called several times and it's very difficult to get help. I normally end up talking to 6 to 10 people who just keep transferring me. I am in the process of buying a home for me and my children but cannot with my creidt score as is due to sallie maes reporting. I was deliquent not realizing payment were due in the beggining of 2014. I have since caught the loan up but they will not report that I am not deliquent. I have also asked for a letter for the mortgage company and that was difficult to geta dn still do not have it. I am very dissapointed in their practice ..calling my ex husband about my loan--knowing I am divorced, calling my place of buisiness and constantly calling my cell phone.Desired Settlement: I would like them to report that I am not diliquent and get that wiped off my credit report.

Review: I keep making payments to my load. Sallae Mae keeps posting to wrong account and then reversing payments on multiple accounts. I am making payments and they are not applying my money to the accounts. I went round and round and kept getting switched to person after person after person to resolve this. AGAIN after five hours worth of my time on the phone with them yesterday, they are saying my bill is clear. They reversed a payment on my account and it says I now owe $100. This is not correct. They are telling me now that I am delinquent and I am not. I am making payments and they are allocating the funds and reversing payments without explanation. They are also cancelled a disbursement to my daughter's school without notification or awareness. They are saying delinquent account and it is not delinquent. They are not correcting my problem, they keep passing me off to person to person and I explain my situation over and over. Now they dropped mine and my husband's credit rating and I cannot get another loan to pay for my daughter's Spring SemesterDesired Settlement: I need them to fix my billing account.

I need them to show my bill properly and show what I owe and what has been posted properly. Their billing is deceiving and you can't understand what you owe and what you paid.

I need them to show me not delinquent to the credit scores department. They keep telling me on the phone I am current but then they do something else. I get a different answer with every phone call. This is fraud . I do not know what I owe any more, my money is not being properly posted. Funds are being added and reversed and not is resolving this. I need this resolved.

I need them to undo what they put on mine and my husband's credit report.

Review: Sallie Mae owes me a refund in the amount of $428.68 because I paid off my student loan to them early. They customer service department told me in early April that my refund would be processed in a month or so. I called them June 3, only to be told that no request has been put through to close my account and refund me. The customer service rep informed me that he would put a request at this time (June 3rd) in and it would be 30 to 45 days before the account was closed the money would be refunded 7 - 10 days after that. I let them know I was going to report them to Revdex.com and they immediately put me through to a supervisor, name is Titus, who explained to me that they were too busy to process my request earlier, but that he would put an urgent request in to have my refund processed. Although he said I should have my refund in two weeks, I think the company needs to be investigated for how they handle refunds. How does something like this happen? I closed my account with them because I was making extra payments at the beginning wanting it applied to my principal and instead they kept applying it to the interest. Working with Sallie Mae has been a nightmare from the beginning. I am starting grad school in the fall and will not count on them for financial aid. Their policies need to be reviewed.Desired Settlement: Investigate Sallie Mae refund process. Find out what they apply extra payments to interest instead of principal....

Review: I took out loans for nursing school with Sallie Mae, a decision a truly regret. I feel they take advantage of students... My interest rates for the 2 loans were insanely high... But I was thankfully able to refinance with [redacted] Bank for a much more reasonable rate. Currently my Sallie Mae account is overpaid by $1,462.78. Sallie Mae is supposed to cut a check for the overpaid to [redacted] Bank and according to their policy, this payment should be complete between 30-45 days. Sallie Mae cashed the check from [redacted] Bank for the refinance on May 14, 2015. This was 57 days ago and my account remains with the over payment. I have contacted Sallie Mae several times and no one there can tell me why the check has not been cut and sent. Sallie Mae is a greedy company that I do not trust. They basically have stolen almost $1500 from me.Desired Settlement: I want to make sure that the over payment is sent to [redacted] Bank where it can be applied to my loan.

Review: I have verified proof that the Sally Mae Corporation took money from my bank account for the amount of 50 us dollars, in exchange for a 3 month forbearance. I asked for this forbearance due to severe medical health issues. I was told I would not need to pay again until May 12th, for the 50 U.S Dollars that was taken out of my account on 2/17/2015. Instead they made my account delinquent, and [redacted] said that I need to fax them a copy of my bank account information to show that the 50 dollars was taken, and and never refunded. Sally Mae is contending there was not enough money in the account which is a factual lie. I should not have to give them my entire bank account due to their inept and potentially fraudulent behavior. Someone at their company screwed up, and did not do the paper work correctly, and now I am being told that I have to file a copy of my bank records to them because their system is wrong. Why is the burden of proof on me? if they are the ones potential committing fraud, by saying my account is delinquent, and making me provide the necessary documents, due to their own inability to keep proper record keeping.Desired Settlement: 1. Provide me with the three month forbearance as agreed to terms on.

2. Erase any negative credit report on my account.

3. Investigate who screwed up, and why so this will not happen again.

4. A letter of Apology, and a fixation of systems when the legal burden of proof is on Sally Mae not the consumer.

Review: For the months of July, August and September 2015 my Sallie Mae student loan statement has been incorrect. I am paying interest only on this loan. My last three statements have said there was no amount due. I called Sallie Mae one month ago asking about this. I was told that Sallie Mae had an overload of payments over the July 4 weekend and that all of the bills went out with incorrect information. I was told the correct amount due to pay, and I requested a corrected statement be provided to me. I was assured I would have a corrected statement within 10 business days. It has been 30 days and I never received the corrected statement. Today I received my October statement, which again says my amount now due is $0.00. Also, I have been paying the same amount each month for over 12 months. Now my actual amounts due in July, August, September, and now October, have each increased.

Review: Sallie Mae calls non-stop a day after the payment is due. They call my cell phone, house phone 10, 15, 20 calls in one day...I answer no one is on the other line just a recording. I call back and the waiting time to get through to a customer service representative is between 25-30 minutes. I let them know the payment was scheduled the day due and mention the harassment of the calls and all they can say is to ignore them. Payment usually takes one day for processing. This needs to stop! Review: I took out a loan for $7000 with Sallie Mae in March of 2014. I set up an automatic deduction so the bill was paid every month. In December of 2014 I noticed that my balance had not decreased. I contacted Sallie Mae to increase my monthly payment and they stated that they cannot do that for the automatic deduction program, so I canceled the automatic program. Instead of paying the minimum that sallie mae had set for the automatic payment of $64.05 on Dec 11, 2014 I paid $150. In January 2015, I went to pay my loan online and the balance of the loan was $6947.52 I paid exactly that on Jan 02, 2015. On January 10, 2015 I got a bill from Sallie Mae for $47.25. I contacted Sallie Mae to see why. They said it was for the interest from Dec to Jan. I asked why the computer didnt have that calculated in to my balance and the woman couldnt answer that. I asked, "So if I paid the $47.25 would my loan be over and I would never receive another bill from you again?" She responded with, "No, you actually owe $47.48" Again I wanted to know why the computer shows something different and she couldnt explain. She said the additional change was for the interest for Jan 2015. Rather than arguing with her I just paid the $47.48. Then confirmed with her that I had fully paid my loan and she said that I would be getting a paid in full letter from Sallie Mae and she congratulated me on paying off my loan. Now, today I received another bill from Sallie Mae for $0.23. This is absolutely ridiculous. How many times and different ways can one person pay off a loan. It seems that they are being dishonest and charging me money that they shouldn't. I am very frustrated with the lack of customer service, the lack of answers, and the continuous billing from Sallie Mae. I feel that this bill for $0.23 is absolutely absurd. I feel that Sallie Mae should forgo the $0.23 and close out my loan. I would like an explanation as to why the online amount and the true pay off balance are not coinciding.Desired Settlement: I feel that Sallie Mae should forgo the $0.23 and close out my loan. Review: Sallie mae is screwing me over. I have called them 6 times in the past two days to only get on the phone 1 time to speak to a rep who rudely hung up on me while I was speaking. I had signed up for automatic debt thinking that would lowing my rate by .25% but there is no where on the website that shows how much my rate is. The automatic debt was set up for my payment date for the 10th of every month and this month nothing came out. leading it to say I missed a payment and then my payment skyrocketed up to 530 bucks for the following month. Sallie mae will not help me out with my loans. I have a part time job and can not afford this loan payment plus my other bills including insurance car payment and other needs to be able to get to work to make the money to pay these stupid loans off. One rep I spoke with a couple months back told me why don't I ask my car loan bank to place my loan a hold or to miss that payment. I was mortified. I need to pay my car loan just as much as I need to pay this sallie mae loan. Needless to say no one in the sallie mae customer service center is helpful. Not to mention they are rude. Some barely speak english and they don't give a damn about me. I have made it my duty to all students out there to not ask for a loan through sallie mae.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I want you to accept a lower payment. My bills with your loan are 1000. I make about 1150 a month. You do the math. It is impossible to live with 150 which I need to save too.

Review: I have had two co-signed loans with Sallie Mae for my step-daughter, [redacted]. All payments on bothese loans have never been late and were always made on time. On Oct 2, 2014 I made both payments to these loans to the regularly scheduled payment address. On Oct 15, 2014 Sallie split off into another company called [redacted]. When they did that they moved one of the loans over to [redacted]. The problem started though when both my Oct 2 payments went to [redacted] (before [redacted] even existed). I contacted Sallie Mae and spoke to theie repsresentatives who assured me that they would corect the problem. On Oct 31, 2014 I made one payment to [redacted] as I was suppose to and one payment to Sallie Mae as I was suppose to. Both of those payments were credited to [redacted]. I was now getting correspondence and phone calls from Sallie Mae stating that I was two months behind. I contacted customer service again and spoke to a manager who assured me that they have put in a request to have the payment from [redacted] reversed back to them. In Noveber 2014, I continued to receive emails and phone calls, again, I contacted Sallie Mae customer service, and again I was assured that the request was put in properly and that its may be taking a little for [redacted] to process the payments to Sallie Mae. I finally get an email on late November 2014 from Sallie Mae that they processed only one payment (the payment that was sent on 31 Oct 2014) but not the payment that was suppose to be credited for the payment I made on Oct 2, 2014. This time I called [redacted]. I spoke to a customer service representative and explained my situation. I was told not to worry, they would make the request to reverse the payment and that it would take five business days. I requested and email be sent verifying this. They promised me an email but I never received one nor did they process the payment to Sallie Mae. Dec 2014 I contact Sallie Mae again, spoke to a manager, explained the situation again and she promised she would process the request for payment, that she was calling over to the office that does the payment reversals and it should get done, again. I asked her to please have the phone calls stopped and also to credit me any late fees. She stated she would do that. The calls stopped up until yesterday. I'm now receiving calls again and getting correspondence that I have an outstanding late payment. I have tried to resolve this issue for almost three months with Sallie Mae but have had no success. Everyone has promised my they would correct the error yet no one has. I'm now gonig into my third month of dealing with this and I want it corrected immediately. I'm getting know support from Sallie Mae or its new company [redacted].Desired Settlement: I want Sallie Mae to work in expediting my Oct 2 2014 payment as they promised from [redacted] and properly credit my co-signed loan to bring it back up to date. I want them to remove all late charges that may have accrued during this time and I also want them to stop calling me and emailing me about my account being delinquent when its not.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I still would like to keep the case open though until this next billing cycle. According to the customer advocate for Sallie Mae, it may take one more billing cycle for the system to catch up.

Review: Sallie Mae has been my student loan provider for my entire college career. After my sophomore year of college, Sallie Mae began to constantly call me and insist that I had graduated and needed to begin payment. So, I called the company, and explained to them that I was still attending college.

The multiple employees assured me that if my college sent proper documentation, that Sallie Mae would stop the calls, and that the payment would be differed until my ACTUAL graduation date. Within the next eight weeks, I complied with the companies specific requests MANY times through my college, receiving documented proof that the college in fact sent in all of the requested student information as well as additional official documentation.

For months now, Sallie Mae continues to harass me. If I do answer, the employees tell me that I am still not in college according to their records. No matter if I fully explain my situation to many different employees and follow every step they require me to take, I continue to receive an average of 5 calls per week day, and 2 calls per weekend day.

Eventually, I let the company know that if I received one more call from the company, that they would be reported to the Revdex.com. The employee claimed the calls would stop-as every employee has claimed. However, no effort has ever been made on their part to solve any problem, and the harassing phone calls continue five times daily.Desired Settlement: The company must immediately cease all harassing phone calls, and correct all of their financial errors. Their is a massive lack of communication that must be solved as no phone call made any progress. They furthermore cannot repeat this process after every semester.
