The technician, Tom S., was very courteous and helpful in answering all my questions regarding problems I had with the well water. He was very professional in determining the problem and resolving the problem in an acceptable amount of time today. After a few hours, the water was running smoothly again! Thank you, Tom. And thank you, Jonathan, the customer service representative who set up the appointment. I definitely recommend Solvit Home Services because of their professionalism and excellent results.

My first water emergency was in December 2014 when I had a major water leak under my kitchen sink. I found Solvit on the web.
I was pleased to speak to a person and relieved to know that they could send a technician to my house that same day!

I had a terrific serviceman come to do my annual furnace maintenance. He was very thorough and gave me many helpful suggestions.

Review: We had a gas furnace that was installed for the former owners of our house six or seven years ago by SolvIt. The furnace had a warranty for parts and labor - lifetime warranty for the original owner and 10 years for anyone else (extended to 20 years on the heat exchanger if SolvIt is maintaining the equipment, which they were). During routine maintenance in February, the heat exchanger was found by SolvIt to be cracked and needed to be replaced. SolvIt informed us that - because we were not the original owners - the warranty would cover the part but not the labor - which would be about $1,800. We were surprised to hear this, as the warranty document - which is very clear that only the original owner has a lifetime term on the warranty - says nothing about the original owner being the only one to have labor covered under the warranty. When we pointed this out, SolvIt told us that the warranty was written by the manufacturer ([redacted]) and that the manufacturer would only cover the part cost for them since we weren't the original owner. Furthermore, they stated that if we did not agree to pay the labor, they would not order and install the part for us.

We agreed under protest to pay the labor cost. After several delays, the replacement heat exchanger was eventually installed and seems to be working fine. We submitted a note reiterating our belief that the warranty terms should have covered the labor the cost as well as the part cost when we sent them our check for $1,754.62 on Feb. 27.

The key sentence in the warranty is as follows:

As its only responsibility, and your only remedy, SolvIt will furnish a replacement part and labor without charge to replace any part that is found to be defective due to workmanship or materials under normal use and maintenance.

The terms of the warranty that refer to the original owner only address the length of the warranty.Desired Settlement: We believe SolvIt should honor the terms of the warranty and refund the $1,754.62 we paid for their labor to replace the defective heat exchanger. (We also believe that the manufacturer, [redacted], should reimburse SolvIt for that amount, partly because they made the heat exchanger that cracked and partly because - according to SolvIt - they wrote the wording of the warranty.)

Attached please find the letter we are mailing to our customer on 3-19-15.

In the letter it describes how we covered a [redacted] fan motor for over $1500 cost which was not covered under any of our warrantees as the age of it was over 5 years old yet we felt bad about the heat exchanger costs the customer incurred. Without such a gesture the customer would have incurred over $3200 in cost for both the [redacted] motor and replacement of the heat exchanger.

We want to do what's fair to both parties and welcome any thoughtful reply and input from the customer as we value their business.

solv it came to give me an estimate on my air compressor repair. They came on time, were professional, could not have been nicer and within short time I had a written estimate. They even called to let me know they were " on their way". They made it easy, and they won the job.

I was very happy with the professional and same day service I received with the Solvit Home Services provided recently. Not being able to reach my own furnace person, I was able to get same day service from this company, when no other plumbers handling boilers would service me for at least 4 days. Cold evenings were predicted for the next week during the evenings.
From the start with my call to Solvit, I reached a live person, who was very helpful, advised I would have same day service and was given an arrival time. I was called back immediately when the technician would be a half hour later than scheduled, and was kept informed when he was on his way to my home.
The technician was courteous, found and solved my problem with the boiler, and gave me my estimate before servicing so there would be no surprises. Because I was so pleased with this service, I contracted with Solvit for future servicing.
I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Chris was courteous and professional. He kept me informed as to what he was doing, why he was doing it and what the results were. He was fast and efficient with his time and cleaned up after his work. My unit was working well when he left.

Lukas was skilled and knowledgeable. He quickly determined the solution to our water system problem and was able to get the water pressure back to normal without a large expense. All Solvit engineers are friendly experts we rely on to get the job done. Thanks Lukas and the great office staff!

Have been using Solvit for the last 10 years as my furnace and a/c yearly maintenance service....friendly and knowledgeable techs.....(had MattL the last few times), Techs usually show up within scheduled time period. If a conflict arises the home office will call you to let you know the reason. Also office customer service Reps(AshleyR, this time) are always willing to help with any questions or problems you may have. Like the website...nice to put a name with a face. Thank you all.

Our Plumbing Technician, Lukas, from Solvit arrived as scheduled, diagnosed the problem, reviewed the solution and cost and then proceeded to fix the problem. He was polite and personable and cleaned up after he was finished. This has been our third experience using SolvIt for plumbing issues and all three times we have had our expectations exceeded.
