Impossible to do business with Spirit. I have been trying to buy a multi-city ticket: (San Diego-Orlando-Cosa Rica-Fort Lauderdale- San Diego) and when it comes review the itinerary and then purchase the ticket, the systems locks you in the registration mode and nothing happens. I flew out May 17th to Ft Meyers on a 3:flightThe plane reeked of vomit at least a half hour into flight By then I was nauseous I don't think they should have allowed a flight to take off light that, Also I think when boarding it should go window seats 1st then middle then endsThis was the ones In wont have to move Also when exiting I think the people with a carry on need to wait till the people that don't have them exit

Overall the company doesn't care at all about customer service and/or good service, based upon the fact of giving "cheap prices" doesn't allow them to give promisesIt has happend several times with them speaking of luggage fees, they always try to charge you for luggage (which is very expensive) if you didn't pay for any luggage and you only want to take the ''free'' personal item
the last thing was really frustrating: I purchased the famous "$fare club membership" believing on the advantages they offerAfter purchase, there's no discount on the luggage prices they offer, and then I called to ask for a refund since I didn't see any difference of having or not the famous membership, they said there's no refund for membership fees!!!! and there's nothing they can do but appologize for the inconvenience
This company only wants money on promises for sure, and later they claim there's ''no refund''

I had a connecting flight at FLL on a Cancun to DTW trip on Wednesday, Febat 8:pm When I booked the flight, Spirit staff said that the hour expected layover would be plenty of time to deplane, get my bags, go through security, and get to my gate
We arrived at FLL early, at 6:48pm Security was a nightmare - not enough staff, poor equipment, etcso we were delayed getting to the gate and arrived at 7:55pm for the 8:05pm flight To our dismay, I was told that our names were announced (useless to us, as we were trying to clear security and you could not understand the announcements, anyway), and the door was closed and would not be re-opened, although the plane was still at the gate
I was told I would be re-booked, but there were no flights out until the next day at 7:30am (this flight ended up being delayed as well!) I had paid for a hotel room at my original destination location, and lost that expense I also incurred a hotel cost near FLL as well as dinner and breakfast costs When I asked Spirit for some accommodation, I was told it was TSA's fault, not theirs When I suggested that the hour expected layover was actually only minutes as the gate closed early, I was told that was MY FAULT for not getting to the gate on time when my name was announced This is an absurd explanation
Their motto, "More for Less", only meant more expense for me, less service received

Family members and friends have warned us about using Spirit Airlines but when my wife's uncle passed away on July 4th in Orlando and the children have decided to take him to Haiti we had no choice but to purchase a ticket online on the Spirit's website becuase all of the other airlines servicing Haiti from Florida were a few hundred dollars more expensive than Spirit
I paid $for two bags ($each, the online price); paying for the bags during the reservation was confusingI was under the impression that I was paying for the bags for our round tripAt the airport at our check-in, an agent informed us that in addition to having overweight luggage - lbs - *** *** maximum weight is lbs) we have only checked two bags from Haiti back to Fort LauderdaleTo make things worst the agent cancelled our checked bags without giving us a refund and charged $
I signed up for a membership $and $just to take advantage of some benefits including lower fees bags and airfaresOn our way back to the States, $for two bags (40lbs each)Basically, we paid $for our luggagesHad we ordered anything on board: a soda and chip ($12) or $for all three of us we would have spent moreAmerican Airlines tickets were $a piece or $1503; each of us is allowed two bags and gets a snackSpirit tickets were $plus $for bags and an additional $for snackI forgot to mention that Spirit was late over an hour

When booking through a third party website, Spirit often comes up at the lowest price, causing people to purchase for this reason
Upon completion of the booking, there are then extra charges of you want a seat, if you need to bring anything other than a purse, if you need to cheat the airport, and if you need to speak with customer serviceCustomers (especially women) are forced to pay extra for everythingThe cost of your trip can double or even triple after booking, with no option to back out of the original flight to use someone else because you can't afford the undisclosed fees
Spirit airlines SHOULD NOT be allowed to operate in the United States! This company takes advantage of average consumers!

Spirit Airlines has POOR customer service Did I say, POOR? They don't care about their customers My flight was cancelled, they put us up in a hotel, gave us a $dinner voucher and a $breakfast voucher for the next day and told us breakfast was free at the hotel Well, the cheapest thing on the dinner menu was a bowl of soup for $ Breakfast was not free The $breakfast voucher covered a coffee and Danish I don't call that breakfast It cost me an extra day of parking at the airport for my home destination I missed by granddaughter's baptism You have try about different numbers and options to get a live person at customer service and then, they say they will give you a $voucher that has to be used in days REALLY! That's only if I decide to fly Spirit again and, who is going to fly in days What about the additional expenses I incurred in my flight, arriving hours later the next day THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE

As a frequent traveler, I have developed a habit of being a very patient and considerate customerHowever, I have never experienced such unprofessional, rude, yet irresponsible set of employees than the staff at Spirit airlinesI would suggest extra training but this starts from the topHabitually late and disorganized business setting; There slick, dubious way in which they advertise cheaper trip rates but deceptively charge extra $at the gate for tiny carry bags is outrageous! I hope enough travelers express there various grievances because this company should not be allowed to continue to fraudulently exploit people

I belong to the Fare Club...after flying Spirit a few times, I discovered that I hate they way they nickel and dime you to death I have been trying to cancel said Fare club, but cannot find on their website a way to do it!!! Its on an auto-renew and thats a problem because they force you into it HELP!!! Do not join that club...do not fly Spirit!

Steer clear of this airlineI unwittingly cancelled my $club membership a day and a half after renewal thinking it was still before the renewalNot only will they not accommodate me for a refund, they won't even reinstate the membership, pocketing the $for nothing in return! I've been a customer for years and this is how they treat me stating rule are rulesMost reputable companies bend the rule to accommodate their customers in the interest of good willWhen they don't accommodate, such as the case here, they'll have someone going around the rest of his life telling people to have nothing to do with SpiritI know I am among countless thousands who have had issues with this airlineMy advice, just stay away!

We were departing from Atlanta, GA on Friday September, I asked when I check the bags of we were Ok for the flightThe service person at the desk checking us in said that we had plenty of timeWe checked our bagsWe went through security and when we arrive at the gate the lady at the door saw us and turned around, closed the door without even acknowledging usThe plane was still there, and they did not even call by the intercomsAfter another minutes, another lady showed up and explain to us that the plane could not be delayedAfter a long night, with no suitcases, we flew the next morningWe arrived at our connection in LAX, we got into the plane, sat in it for one hour and thirty minutes before they asked us to off-board the planeAll because some paperA mysterious paper that needs apparently four and half hour to be signedThe customer service is terrible, very rude, and don't carePlease do yourself a favor and spend the extra money in a different airlineHands down, the worst airline I have ever used to travelI would like to ask Expedia to refrain to make offers of flight+hotel that includes this airlineThis looks like a scam from the beginning to the end

I'm extremely disgusted with how heartless, un-empathetic, or understanding Spirit Airlines was in regards to my boyfriend being randomly shot causing him to miss his flight arrangementsI contacted Spirit Airlines at 7:am on 9-19-to inquire about the possible options available when someone is not able to make their flightHowever, as you can probably tell this situation is not any excuse for missing a flightMy boyfriend's flight is not scheduled to depart until 9-21-at 4:pm, so it's not as if the call is last minute, besides the shooting took place just days ago and we have been in the hospital every moment sinceI informed Spirit Airlines that my boyfriend was the scheduled passenger and that he had been randomly shot nine times just two days ago and is currently still in the hospitalI also informed Spirit Airlines that I was not trying to obtain a refund but possibly a credit towards a future flight or even the ability to reschedule the flight for a later dateI was so grossly disturbed by Spirits lack of empathy and complete disregard for human life displayed during this call that I informed Spirit following the cold response that I would leave the currently scheduled arrangements as they were and decided how to address the issue at another timeThis experience has shed a new found light on Spirit Airlines as a whole, so much that I will NEVER allow myself, any of my family members, friends, or associates to place their lives in the hands of a company that has no regard for human life, nor will I allow them to continue to spend their hard earned money with such a dehumanized robotic organization as Spirit AirlinesI believe if my boyfriend had died following this random shooting Spirit wouldn't have even conjured up a vapor of an emotion to even offer their condolencesI don't know about anyone else but I definitely will not be spending my money or placing my life in the hands of a company that has no regard for human life whatsoever

Their website screwed up so I could not pay for my checked baggage in advance I had to pay an extra $at the terminal, and when I brought up the web site error with the agent, she said that I would have to call customer service to get a refund or credit Customer service said that the agent had not made any notes on our record so they refused to issue any credit or refund I asked to speak to a supervisor who said because of the circumstances they could not do anything but that if I contacted "customer relations" via the web site they could fix it I did so, and they gave me the same line This is in addition to multiple little screw-ups over our departing and returning flights -- screw-ups that didn't really impact us but that indicated that their employees don't really know what they're doing
I will never fly using Spirit again, and I recommend everyone else avoid them too

My daughter was flying alone and Spirit Airlines cancelled her flight When speaking with Spirit, I informed them that my daughter was alone in an airport and requested another flight They offered to place her on a flight - three days later
When I asked them where she was expected to stay, they suggested she approach a random stranger at the airport and ask for a place to stay?? (Minor children are not permitted to obtain hotel rooms) They were not of any help and I ended up purchasing a ticket that was $more

Luggage lost from a direct flight for of the days traveled Spirit promised to reimburse for replacement luggage They never have As an insult they offered a $travel voucher that expires in days Don't EVER fly this airlines, we never will again

Unfortunately, cannot say too much good about this airlineCheap tickets does not mean good service and low price is not always low if you start adding up fees
From my recent experience - trip to New York on Spirit airline - they did not make me feel good about this company
My flight NKfrom LGA to ORD was canceled due to a bird strike into the right wing near engine, while landing of incoming flight to LGA Wing was damaged and technicians were inspecting if was safe to flightI understand that it takes time to inspect and representative could not tell if this flight will or will not be canceledBut closer it was getting to 11pm it was becoming obvious that plane would not fly (due to fly restrictions at LGA)
Very unfortunately, company did not provide any good or any options for the passengers, except refunding money for the part of round trip ticket
They did not offer any accommodations for out of town passendgers, including wheel chair bound
They did not offer any taxi service to any of the hotels for out of town passengers
They could not add another plane/flight for next day due to this situation
To rebook flight you had to spend half of the night standing in line
Rebooking of flight was was a terrible process because all flights were full for the next day and most of the day after, and people had to spend in NY additional day or two, forcing then to find a place to stay and spend additional money
Luckily, for me, I could use my miles to book another ticket for next morning flight but it was a VERY HIGH priceUnluckily, for me, I had to spend a night on the bench at airport
In conclusion - experience was BAD and I don't think I would flight this airline again, and I would not recommend to any one to flight this airline
Whatever, they refunded as a partial round trip ticket - it did not make me feel good

I've flown Spirit multiple times over the last yearI would not hesitate to do so again
A key thing with Spirit is to read the fine printTaking a bag over than a certain size will generate an extra feeI always take a small bag for my to night trips and have never been charged extraThe one time I had a larger bag, I bought it in advance and avoided the infamous $charge at the airport
Expect flights to be non-refundableI have had to cancel flights, but I knew I wouldn't get my money back when I paid for the ticketThe good thing about Spirit is I have been able to rebook very cheaplyThe cost between forfeiting one ticket and buying a new one was still well under what it would have cost to fly with any other airlineSpirit will provide a small voucher with cancellations, more then another airline does with their nonrefundable fare rateAll in all, I've purchased numerous Spirit flights for under $round trip
The seats are small, but manageable at my 6' and over lbs sizeIf you want to pick a seat, you have to pay extra for itI recommend letting Spirit pick your seat during check inIf you don't like your seat, you can always upgrade at the airport kiosk
The $fare club can be a good dealAgain, read the fine printIf you don't cancel, it will automatically renew
Spirit is by no means perfectI've had a couple flights run late, and getting a simple answer from their customer service via e-mail can take daysNonetheless, these folks can be a great way to fly if you keep the limitations in mind

I wanted to discuss the horrible service I received on a recent trip
1-Flight was cancelled at assistance was providedPhone service didn't work I was told to come to Logan Airport at am and someone would assistNobody was there till 3:AMNo help was actually given but I was told my new flight would be emailThis didn't happen until I had to go back to the Spirit Counter at 6:AM and again was told I was being sent a requestIn the end the supervisor of Spirit in Logan had to come to Jet Blue (I had gone back and forth between terminals multiple times) and Spirit lied and put me on a flight with three connections instead of twoWanted to recharge me for baggageI had to beg for service
2-My next connection my bags had to be rechecked and they wanted to recharge me for baggage until I begged and explained the situationI was harassed at the airport in Ft Lauderdale
3-I am in Havana and waited hours in line cause only lady was at the counter(every other airline had 3-people) I would check in myself but Cuba does not have readily available internetMy flight was delayed and no response was givenI was not allowed to check my bags through because they did not have enough time or allowed to receive my other boarding pass
4-I almost missed my flight and was ignored and sworn at the the FtLauderdale airport by Spirit employeesI was yelled at because it was my fault I was running late (my flight was delayed from Spirit)I was told I had to repay for baggage and check in-I had to argue to be heardFlights were not allowed to be adjusted at counter outside security and then when inside security I was given attitude and lied to from a spirit employee and told I had to leave security to adjust tickets

My experience with spirit airlines was not a good experience, I paid for my ticket ahead of time $ just to find out that its going to cost me an additional $to check my luggage on the plane plus the cost for beverage and snacksI ask the flight attendant for a cup of water and instead I was given a cup of ice and was told everything is for saleI feel this airline does not care about their customers only money

This airline is the WORST! They misinformed my year old Sister on her gate, and she missed her flight, because spirit does not post the gate # on the ticket! Customer service is rude as ***, and they are not accommodating at all!!
