The Target Debit Card is used as a debit card in that it is withdrawing funds from your bank accountHowever, the terms, benefits, and protections associated with the Target Debit Card may vary from those that apply to a debit card issued by your bankFor example, if you use the Target card to make a purchase that exceeds the balance in your bank account, that account may become overdrawn even if you chose not to allow overdrafts with respect to a debit card issued by your bank

None of my specific requests were addressedMr*** did admit however that the Red Card does not work the way a standard debit card works
That is the foundation of my complaintIt is deceitful if not outright fraudTarget's point of sale marketing does not allow for perusing the application's fine print and one must rely on the salesclerk to explain the productWhen I recently explained to a clerk who was asking me to use my Red Card why I would no longer do so, she was appalled and shocked that she was not promoting a debit cardIf this was presented to the prospective customer as a possible EFT transaction--just like a check--that would be an honest presentation of the productBut I suspect that many--like me-would choose to use our bank debit cards instead od the Red Card
This is not acceptable and I see no acknowledgment of any wrong-doing on Target's partCiting a "misunderstanding" puts as much blame on the customer as it does the (probably) untrained clerk.Frankly, I am surprised that a class action lawsuit has not been brought against the companyNot cool
