I would like to first mention that during the time of this complaint I contacted target's customer service this customer service rep was very rude and would not explain to me why I wasn't approved.furthermore after opening the letter that I received from target they stated that the reason that I was declined for a red card was because I lacked lines of credit such as credit cards and home equity lines of credit I do not understand why companies always focus on the negatives I do have lines of credit I have a $credit card with capital one and a $credit card with capital one as well in addition of that as stated in my application I own my own home out right which is currently valued at 160,and I have full-time employment and of been employed with my company now for three years I also have a brand-new car which I also own out right which is valued at 14,in addition to that I do have other lines of credit in good standing such is my student loans but for some reason target did not take that into account when checking my credit and they base everything on the negative not the positive information and what they also forget to mention is that it is very easy to remove an inquiry from a credit report it is extremely easyIt's funny how they state that the reason I was didn't night was because I have no home equity line of credit the fact is is I have 100% equity in my home but yet target is failed to overlook this when reviewing my application and yet they always but every time and every register when you shop with them they solicit this red card

This is completely unacceptable to lower someone's credit limit due to them not purchasing for a few months! I have been a credit card customer for 15yrs approxand I a store cash paying customer several years before that! I should NOT HAVE TO go to their website and do a financial form to see if I qualify so that my credit score is nickedI work WAY to hard to keep my credit EXCELLENT and this lower limit has jeopardized that and I am not having it! If my limit was HIGHER I would be more apt to use it as I refuse to allow my purchase total to be more then half the credit limit amount(because as you know that also hurts my credit score) - I think it is REALLY crappy that you treat good honest loyal customers like this and I will only ask one more time to raise my credit limit like it should have been in the first place!
