Review: I purchased computer antivirus protection from [redacted] to protect my home computer on 7/**/13. The protection was for one year. On 11/**/13, I was unable to use my computer, I thought it was from a virus so I called the number for help from [redacted] which was TechVantedge. At the time I did not know it was TechVantedge, I thought it was [redacted].. The technician told me they can remotely access my computer and fix the problem while I'm at my home. I previously had used Norton Antivirus Services on my home computer and had it remotely accessed and fixed with out any issues. I thought this would be the same. I gave the technician permission to remotely access my computer for repair. After the technician from TechVantedge accessed my computer, he told me to fix my computer it would cost me $598.00. I told the technician that I had already paid for antivirus protection and should not have to pay an additional fee. The technician from TechVantedge informed me that the service protected against viruses but not hacking. The technician told me my computer was hacked in to and that was much worse than a virus and since the "hackers" had my IP address I needed 24 hour protection which was more involved. I told the technician I could not afford to pay $598.00. The technician told me for $298.00, I could have the protection for 6 months. I agreed believing he was being honest with me which I later found out was false. After TechVantedge stated they worked on my computer and fixed the problems, I was still unable to use my computer. I told the technician I still could not use my computer. When the technician was working on my computer, he had told me to move my computer closer to the modem, which was in the basement. The technician from TechVantedge told me when I bring my computer back upstairs and get it situated, it would work. My computer never worked. I told the technician I was still unable to use my computer. I had already given the technician my debit card information. On 11/**/13, I brought my computer to a local computer repair company and they fixed my computer. I picked up my computer on 11/**/13. I have the receipt stating the work that was done to my computer. I called my bank and filed a claim to get my money back from TechVantedge since they did not fix my computer as the technician had stated and they refused to give me my money back. My bank has been trying to get my money back from TechVantedge but TechVantedge stated they fixed my computer. TechVantedge sent my bank an Email from my computer from 11/**/13 stating I was satisfied with the work they had done on my computer. I never sent them any letter. TechVantedge sent my bank falsified documents. I would appreciate your help in this matter.Desired Settlement: Full investigation and prosecution or fine for any findings of misrepresentation, falsification of documents and unethical practices

Review: I bought a computer virus program called Cyberdefender, which I believe is another scam, and was having issues with my computer running slow & locking up. When I called their number I was directed to another company called Techvantange, which I tought was a company who took over for Cyberdefender like US tech Support did. They ran a check on my computer after answering yes to my question -Is this Cyberdefender support? After doing so claimed that it was a network issue, hacked, and I need to proceed to have them find the problem. After about a hour or so they wanted to sell me their product - TechVantage for $199 for 9 mths. of support & a lifetime coverage(quarantee) After double talking me & then telling me I had to pay for tech support after the given timeframe. I would ask them that they said it was for a liftime & they would keep saying yes. "BUT IT WASN'T !!" This is a scam along w/ Cyberdefender !! I'm supposedly on auto renewal for Cyberdefender & They will not reply to my email of stopping it along w/ TechVantage swindling me out of $199. I afraid to to call them & complain about the computer still not running right & letting them get into the system again.Desired Settlement: $199 from TechVantage$519.96 from Cyberfender -refund if not happy for any reason( I was told)Not sure if they are the same scamming Companies or not?

Review: I called into Techvantedge inregards to the services they promised me that were not on my computer. I requested a complete refund for the incomplete work that was done to my computer and at first request the representitive denied me anything, then they placed me on hold; got back on the line and stated that they could refund me a certain amount of my money which I felt was unexceptable considering they offer a full money back guarantee if you aren't completely satisfied with their service. So after getting the run around, placed on hold several times for at least 10-15mins each time, promises of my full refund, and for a supervisor to give me a call back, and they never called. I later called back and spoke with a lead supervisor who said he would offer me a different higher amount of my money back, but then he says after that, but only if I promised to close the case and not fight for the rest of my money back. Once I didn't agree to those circumstances he passed the phone off to another representative as to show no concern for the situation or how I had been treated as a customer. This was the worse experience from a computer tech. service and I hate I ever contacted this establishment.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is for this company to recognize what they have done wrong, stop pushing the blame on me, keep their word, and refund my monies accordingly.

Review: On July **, 2013 I called to what I believed was a Dell warranty phone number that I got off the computer web site. The person I spoke to identified himself as a Dell representative. The name I was given was [redacted]. I started to describe my issue and maybe I had been hacked. He said that he could help me with my problem but told me that what I would need to do is purchase a cleaner program. I asked why when my laptop was recently purchased, I had bought the laptop in early 2013 maybe Feb. or March. He said that I would still need to buy it in order to make sure that it was completely cleaned.

I at that point mentioned that my PC was also not working properly, he then told me it was because of my PC that my laptop was infected, I had no clue. He them made it sounding like a real bargain by telling me that he would split the charge $398.00 between the two units, 199.00 for the laptop and 199.00 for my PC. So not knowing any better I said okay. He then got a woman and I've forgotten her name, for authorization after that he asked for control of both units and for the next six hours they had control. All of this had begun at around 1pm.

At about 7pm I received a call back to inform me that all was well both of my computers were fixed and if I would send an email to confirm it, which I did. I then got on the computer and started having problems.Desired Settlement: This case was presented to my credit card company for a dispute, it was not resolved in my favor. If not able for a refund then a warning to other consumers. Beware of there deceptive practice for falsely identifying as a certified Dell representative.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The statements that were provided are incorrect. It states that I called TechVantedge. No. I went looking for contact phone number to DELL repair systems. The number that I got was advertised as a DELL phone number. The individual answered with his name and ask if I needed help? I asked if this was DELL, he replied yes. I stated that I needed help on my computer, as it happens that I had called previously on two other occasions to DELL. I asked him if he had my call history? He said no, I was then given an excuse with an issue of he was not able to find it, but told me not to worry he would be able to still assist me.

I told him my issues, slow response on my lap top, page freezes and I thought I maybe hacked. Well he stated that he would need to look into my laptop to verify my suspicions. I then followed his instructions and let him take control of my laptop.

He then proceeded to show me a letter box of IP addresses and told me that this was evidence that I had been hacked and he had just the program to clean it up and provide me with the best security program that he had. I asked him if he thought that maybe my PC might have the same issues? He then told me that my PC was probably the source of my issues and that I should include it in the cleaning. He quoted a price of $398.00 and he could split the cost of cleaning between my laptop and my PC of $199.00 per unit. To me that sounded like a deal. I would get my laptop and PC back in working condition. I then turned both units over to TechVantedge, which he said was the supplier of the program that he would use, and at that time I gave them my credit card number. After 6 hrs of repair they said it was cleaned and all issues addressed. I received control of my units and was asked to confirm repair which I did believing I was going to have no problems with my units. The next morning it was as if nothing was done my issues still persisted. I then looked up the correct DELL and had my issues resolved. TechVantedge should refund the amount in dispute of $199.00 immediately and not within 30 days!

Review: I paid for computer support and received no credible support. In fact, I was insulted for my use of Windows 8, even though at the point of sale, they assured me they could help with Win8Desired Settlement: November 2013 I contracted for 6 months computer support for Win8. They assured me that they could cupport help for Win8. The FIRST contact resutled in 2 hours, access tomy computer and no resolution to the issue. In fact, at the end of the session they said I was not wise to use Win8 and downloaded Google Chrome to my computer. I have since found a local computer store and for $130 resolved the issue. The computer store did say that Techvantedge did not mess up my computer, but they did "muddle things a little. Subsequent cal;s to them, they denied anything an wanted to sell me MORE service. I have called a couple of times to tell them they are a complete scam. I will not do business with them or ANY OTHER ON LINE SUPPORT . My local computer store said he has had many complaints of online support sites. This site is a complete rip off. I CHALK IT UP TO A LESSON HARD LEARNED. I hope you will help in my goal. No more people get scammed by this company.

Looking for computer, no one should be scammed.

End story for me is I will now trust NO paid computer support on line. Please help me in my goal to avoid anyone else from doing business with this company.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory. I cannot complain to a company that is not rained enough to fix a problem. I know I purchased the service trusting they could re3solve the problem.

My lesson. I will never use a paid support on the internet. This company proved the risk. I am out $400.00 but an important lesson learned. This company will continue to do business ripping off customers.

Review: Complaint against Techvantedge

On June **, 2014 I purchased an upgraded version of MaCafee security to protect my computer. The next day my computer was running slow and by July [redacted], 2014 it was so slow it was almost not useable. I decided to call MaCafee to see if this was a coincidence or the new purchase was related to my computer running so slow. I “[redacted]d” MaCafee and the first site that came up said MaCafee and there was an 800 number. I called and spoke with a representative. I explained the problem and she asked for remote viewing of my computer to check the problem. I allowed this, she checked MaCafee and said there were not problems, everything was working fine and I do not have any viruses on my computer. Then she asked me to restart my computer in safe mode, which I did. After I was done she pulled up a screen that looks like the screen that appears when you start your computer in safe mode and highlighted in red that I had 23 hackers on my computer. She said that I needed to take immediate action. I should change all my passwords, bank account, email etc. I was fearful and panicked thinking that 23 people had access to everything. She told me that this could be fixed and that I had a couple options. She showed me those options on a screen that looked just like the one before. First I could take my computer in to be checked. This would take 3 days and cost 580.00. She asked for my zip code to find the nearest location and said it was Troy Michigan. She did not recommend this option. Second option I could have it fixed remotely in a couple hours from home. A onetime fix would cost 599.00 and if I wanted protection for a life time it would cost 699.00. I was told this protection would extend to other devices such as ipads, cell phones or any new computers I might purchase. With the 100.00 difference I opted for the 699.00. However while she turned my computer over to the technician to make sure they could repair it.. I called my credit union and asked that they cancel my card and issue a new one. I told her I could no longer use my card, I had just cancelled it. She said no problem I could use her screen to make the payment. She stated she would start by taking 199.00 from my account and I agreed. Then a technician came on the line and I gave him remote access. I was told they would have it fixed in a couple hours and not to use the computer while they were working on it. After a couple hours the technician named [redacted] called and asked me to see if everything was working. I did so and told him the computer was still running slow. He stated he would work on it more and call me back. This scenario happened again. After the third try he told me he could not fix it but the only problem was that I needed to buy more memory and that would solve the problem. He asked me to log into my email. He sent an email the company had written, stating I was satisfied with the service. I was satisfied as long as the memory fixed the problem, the hackers were gone and I had a lifetime of protection. I signed it and sent it. After we hung up I deleted a number of programs from my computer and freed up half the available memory. My computer was as slow as it had been. Memory did not fix the problem. I looked at the charges and the company had charged me four times. One for 199.00 and three more times for 149.00. This is when I also discovered I was not talking to MaCafee but this company called Techvantedge. I [redacted] the company and there are numerous complaint about it being a scam. The company website boasts 100% money back guarantee if the problem is not resolved. I called the company back right away and asked for a refund. I was told that they worked on my computer and installed a firewall and he doubted I would get a refund. Although he said I should call the next day to speak to a customer service representative during normal business hours. At 9:00 am the next morning, July [redacted], 2014 I first contacted Astera Credit Union and explained my problem. The money was on hold. They tried moving all the money in my account to savings in the hope that the company would not be able to get it, but said they could not promise. I was told to also go in and file a fraud report. Following that conversation I called customer service at Techvantedge. I spoke with [redacted], she listened and said that she would have someone call me back. I told her I wanted to speak with someone then. She said they will call right back. I waited 15 minutes and then called again. I spoke to [redacted] and asked for [redacted]. I was on hold for 11 minutes when a call came in. I answered on the [redacted] ring but they had hung up. Then the hold I was on went to a busy signal. I called the number that had just called me and spoke with a man who told me his name was [redacted]. I told him the situation, I said that my problem had not been fixed and that I wanted a full refund. He said that the company had worked on my computer and they had screen shots of it, as well as the letter they composed stating my satisfaction. I persisted and he said he would talk to his manager. Her name was [redacted], however he refused to give her last name. He offered getting back on my computer and fixing the problem. He said that I did not have a lifetime of service but a year. But I could call for support for a lifetime. I refused the offer. He offered a 350.00 refund. Again I refused stating I wanted a full refund. I also told him based on what happened I would be sending a second email expressing my dissatisfaction, as my computer was not fixed as promised.

I feel this company preys on people’s fears and use deceptive practices. I don’t think there were 23 hackers on my computer. I believe she told me it was my screen when indeed it was her own screen that she pulled up. I was led to believe I was I was talking with a reputable company MaCafee, however I was not. My computer was not fixed and I was lied to about the problem.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely, [redacted] ###-###-####Desired Settlement: The desired outcome would be a full refund as well as this company stopping it's deceptive practices.

Response:

I received back the money owed to me by filing a fraud claim with my credit union. I have not had any further contact with this company since I filed my complaint. I am glad that with the assistance of my credit union I was able to get a refund, however I feel this company preys on a person's fears and their practices are very deceptive. They should not be able to continue these unethical business practices.

Review: I have a Lexmark computer printer and I wanted to set up a wireless connection to my laptop. A couple of days ago I filled out a 'contact us' form (06-**-13) at the Lexmark website to that affect and the next day (06-**-13) received a phone call from somone claiming to be a Lexmark tech who wanted to help me.

I am on the phone with him for over two hours trying to make the connection. He went remote on to my computer to see what the problem was. He claimed to see some 'currupt files' that needed fixing and passed me on to who he called MSN to make the fix. He said the charge for that service was $150. I told him I couldn't afford it so he lowered the price to $99 and insisted that the wi-fi connection could not take place intil the files were fixed.

After all that, he said that my printer did not have wireless capability; something that a Lexmark tech should have known at the start. I filled

out a contact form at Lexmark's website yesterday and today (06-**-13)received a boilerplate reply about being sorry for my inconvenience and nothing about the $99 charge. I call Lexmark and am told they have no record of any service or transaction that took place 06-**-13 and that since it was late Friday, I needed to call back first thing Monday. I just assumed Tech Vantedge was a sub-contracter for MS.

I went to my bank website to see the status of the $99 and saw that it was pending. I spoke to my bank's customer service and was assured that when the transaction was processed, it would be investigated as a fraudulent charge.Desired Settlement: To not rip folks off the way they did me and not resort to fraudulent practices,

problem that the customer had with our service.Thank you for bringing this

matter to our attention.

Case Summary :-

[redacted] called us

on 06/**/13 for a printer issue. She was under the impression that we are

Lexmark support center but it was informed in the beginning of the call and

while charging the payment that we are Techvantedge and not Lexmark. We charged

her $99 to resolve the printer issue. After thorough diagnostics we found that

there was a hardware prerequisite for the printer to work wirelessly. We

informed the same to the her. We are voiding the transaction as on today and

would not charge her card as the issue was not fixed.

The they would do a 3 way diagnostic and a 2 way repair, removal of foreign address, permanent blockage, clean all infections from Network, Smart Firewall installed for life of computer, install Net Guard/open Net Guard/Master Net Guard for life of computer and protect forever for Lifetime of computer. Finally, the credentials would besecured on Email Protection, Network Protection, Software corruption fixing, Online Banking Protection (encryption) and Credit card secure(encryption). The cost was $1,990. This happened on Oct[redacted]. I thought everything was fine. However, on Oct.[redacted] there's a security breach with Microsoft advising to call them asap. They stated there's no lifetime warranty and I was scammed. I had no security and Windows security was completely stopped. Microsoft completely scanned my computer and showed me all the defects. To fix these problems I had to pay $799.99. I have a 5 year license security software, aip software protection, pc privacy shield, virus protection, spyware and unwanted software with anti junks, anti pop-ups and anti add-ons. I called my credit card company and my bank to stop payment. Now my computer works very well. No problemDesired Settlement: I want the 8 charges. Four charges to my [redacted] credit account in the amounts of $298, $297, $299 and $296 credited. Also, the additional charges of $249, $204, $298 and $49 credited to my [redacted] account. The total is $1,990. This has been a terrible experience and the cost is unbelievable. Safe Tech Live must make this refund. They did not do what they stated. I was vulnerable to hackers. Review: July **, 2014 I purchased AVG Business for my computer in the amount of $199.00 for 3 years of service. Since receiving AVG I have had to call Tech Advantage several times because I keep getting error messages saying that the AVG is not legal. Customer service was supposed to repair the problem. Today, 04/**/2015, I get on my computer and receive a message telling me my free trial will end in 29 days.Desired Settlement: The last time I called the customer service number, they reinstalled AVG and then wanted me to purchase a service contract for $300.00. I'm a 74 year old widow on a fixed income. I need some type of compensation from this company. As far as I'm concerned, I feel like this is a scam and I'm being taking advantage of. To,

In response to the complaint (ID# [redacted])

It is with great concern and regret that we received your email outlining the problem that the customer had with our service. First and foremost,

TechVantedge would like to apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

[redacted] called Techvantedge on October **, 2014 for AVG installation issue and he wanted to optimize/clean up the computer as someone from [redacted] Support (TFN ###-###-####) called him and accessed his computer and they charged him $299.99. So he was concerned whether his computer has been infected or corrupted by any chance because he received a call from someone from [redacted] Support (TFN ###-###-####) and worked upon his computer but did not fix the problem. We took the remote access of his computer and found that his computer was still in control with them. We also found that his computer had a lot of junk files and there were some software

corruption due to which the Softwares were not responding efficiently.

[redacted] was offered a subscription of $497.00 ($149 + $149 + $199 = $497) for 270 days (90 x 3 = 270 Days) unlimited technical support for one computer only and authorized Techvantedge to charge $497.00. Post receiving the payment, we removed unwanted softwares , fixed the slowness issue, AVG installation issue, optimized the computer, and cleaned the junk data. After the issues were resolved we request the consumer to send us a resolution confirmation email on our support email address so the case can be closed and to know if customer is completely satisfied with the services provided. [redacted] confirmed the issue resolution via email. Attached is the Resolution Confirmation Email received from him.

We did not charge any payment of $299.99 to [redacted]. So we request [redacted] to contact the concerned company about this payment.

We offer excellent services to all our customers. If you have any further questions or would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to contact us at ###-###-####.

Review: Needing to contact Dell to ask about my new PC, I searched the internet for their Tech Support number. I clicked on what I thought was there link and was given the a phone number for Tech Vantedge. They answered the phone and stated they were contracted by Dell to service their contracts. They even sent me an link showing the Dell logo with theirs. Unfortunately I no longer have this. Anyway, I called to ask Dell how to change the Admin User on my system. They insisted on performing a check on my computer to check for any viruses. My PC has been installed at my home for only two days. The firewall was up and my virus protection was on. However they insisted I had been hacked and showed me a bunch of stuff in red that said the IP addresses were from China. They scared me to death....had me thinking all my important, sensitive information had been leaked. Said the only way I could be safe was to let them clean my computer and install a firewall. Said my pc did not come with a firewall. They miss-represented themselves to me.Desired Settlement: I want any and all monies refunded to me. I did not reach out to them to fix anything. I had nothing to be fixed. Only needed instruction. They made false claims to me and played on my emotions in order to extort money from me.

It is with great concern and regret that we received your email outlining the problem that the customer had with our services. First and foremost, TechVantedge would like to apologize for the inconvenience. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

[redacted] / [redacted] called TechVantedge on April **, 2014 for Dell user account issue and slowness issue on the computer with under an impression that we are Dell. Our agents clearly mention the name "TechVantedge" in the beginning of every call we receive to ensure customers are aware of the fact that we are a third party technical support company. We did not state that we are or affiliated with Dell in any way. Also while making the payments customers are directed to our website and are requested to read the terms and conditions before making an online payment. Also on the credit card statement our name as TechVantedge Inc. appears under the charge.

[redacted] / [redacted] was offered the discounted subscription of $298.00 for 180 days unlimited technical support ($149.00 – 90 days support & $149.00 – 90 days

support) for one computer only. We also found that her computer had a lot of junk files and there were some software corruption due to which the Softwares were not responding efficiently. We repaired that, fixed the slowness issue, Dell user account issue, optimized the computer, and cleaned the junk data. Post all the issues were fixed up to her satisfaction then she sent us the email. Attached is the Case Closure Email received from the [redacted] / [redacted].

We clearly informed [redacted] / [redacted] that we are Techvantedge. We showed our website to her. Also we saved a Notepad on her desktop with all the Techvantedge details

on it. Please find attached the Screen Images indicating the troubleshooting steps were performed by us and [redacted] / [redacted] confirmed on email that the issues have been fixed.

In order to resolve this matter, Out of the total amount of $298.00, we have kept only $129.00 (discounted price) as one time fix charge because the primary issue (Changes in Dell User Account) which was reported to us was fixed and computer was optimized by Techvantedge. Refund for remaining amount of $169.00 has been processed. Attached are the Refund Receipts for your reference.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I did indeed call Tech Vantedge in error after an unsuccessful search on the internet. The misleading link was listed as Dell Support. As for the way the phone call was answered, it was difficult for me to understand the [redacted] agent so I asked if this was Dell Support. He replied, "yes, yes we are Dell's contracted tech support".

As for the reason I called, it was not due to a slowness issue nor was it to clean out the junk data. This new pc had only been plugged into the internet for two days and I spent minimal time on the internet. I had intended to contact Dell to instruct me on how to change the administrator name on the pc. This would have cost me nothing if I had actually spoken with Dell. While on the phone with this company the agent looked into the computer via remote access and after a few fast clicks and screen changes he produced a file written in red font stating my system had been compromised by hackers in China thru a Trojan virus. This utterly frightened me. He insisted it had to be cleaned and protection be added to the computer. He convinced me I had been hacked and proceeded to tell me their service was the only way to clean it up. He played on my fears that my sensitive information had been taken.

A couple of days later I began to suspect I had been a victim of a scam so I disputed the charges on my credit cards. The bank told me to have my pc scanned by a third party to see if the services promised had been carried out. I contacted the Geek Squad, told them what happened and forwarded the list of services that had been promised for the price paid. According to Geek Squad under Case ID#[redacted] none of the services promised by Tech Vantedge were performed. They could find no trace that Tech Vantedge serviced my pc nor could they find any evidence that my pc had suffered a virus. This information can be confirmed by calling 1-800-Geek Squad and asking for Tech Support and referencing the Case ID.

I would like to add that the Dell Inspirion I recently purchased came with an active firewall and antivirus protection which are automatically activated. The agent at Tech Vantedge told me that my firewall was not enabled and my antivirus was inactive. This is simply not possible. It is clear to me and the 3rd party that my computer was never in need of servicing.

The information I obtained from calling Geek Squad has been submitted to my credit card companies as part of the dispute process. Nothing less than a full refund will be an appropriate resolution.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: My laptop was having issues with the add-ware. I was mislead about the fixes and issues as follows.

. They informed me that they have installed firewall on my laptop and on my network. I check my modem and router and it did not have any thing installed.

. I was mislead-ed by them by saying they are associated with lenovo. After the so called fixes made by them, I was informed by lenovo that they are not associated with them.

. They provide false information to the customer about the severity of the issue.

. To cover them, they force customer to compose an email to them were the matter is pasted by them and send by them as well. They did not allowed me to change the content of the email and I can only amend to the existing email.

. I agree it was my bad that I allowed them to charge my credit card. My sole purpose of this is to stop their business and not allow them to fool others.

. I hope I would get my cash refunded.Desired Settlement: I would like get my $199 from them as it is definitely a scam. When researched online, I found many people facing the similar problem. The information provided by them is wrong during fixes and its misleading.

Review: This company is a scam, They are affiliated with Vipre security and this is how they downloaded malware on my computer and then wanted $500 to remove it and "fix" my computer. They claim to be a tech support company but in reality, they falsify what they claim. At the time I required their service, I was not aware that they were a scam, until I researched them. 15min after paying for their service, I immediately called them to stop & cancel my service and to have them refund me. I had to call 5 times before they would transfer me to the appropriate support to cancel the service, and they refused to refund me all of the amount. After four hours of trying to deal with this false company, I had to settle with a refund of $300 out of $500. The next morning I called my credit card company and they had charged an additional $300 on my credit card without my authorization. I had to cancel my credit card and report them, my credit card company will deal with them now. I am sure if I wouldn't have cancelled my credit card, they would have kept taking money. I am not the first person to complain about this company, there are several people who have warned the public about this company and I wish I would have researched them before putting my trust on someone's claim to be associated with Microsoft, which I verified & they have nothing to do with Microsoft , they also claim to be located in NY but in fact are not.Desired Settlement: I hope the FBI finds them and closes them down before to many people lose their hard earned money.

Review: This company is misleading and portrays their organization as being something that they are not. I experienced a technical problem with my computer. I have McAfee Security and thought I was contacting them to notify about the problem. This organization is listed as a McAfee subsidiary, and also confirmed to me that they were a part of McAfee.I believe this organization is a fraud and misleads customers into believing that they are a part of a reputable company. I was told that my computer had been hacked and they charged me $199.99 to install a firewall. The date this occurred was on February **, 2014. I then contacted McAfee who then confirmed that this company was not a part of their organization. After scanning my computer they found out that no firewall was installed. They confirmed that the only firewall that was installed was the one put in my them. The representative from TechVantedge told me that the firewall that I was in place by McAfee could not guard against high-tech hackers and that the only way I could safeguard my computer was to let them install there own firewall. I was later told by McAfee that they would never charge for a service such as this.I am presently unemployed and feel that I was taken advantage of at a time that I cannot afford any added expenses. McAfee has stated to me that they are aware of these types of organizations that use their website and name to pull in unsuspecting consumers. This should not be allowed.I have contacted my bank and they are investigating this claim as well and have temporarily removed this fee, pending further notice. Please list this company as a potential problem so others are not taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: For the moment, I would just like to make sure that the Revdex.com is aware of this organization as others call in to complain. I am awaiting to see if my bank uphold their decision to take this charge off. It is still pending. If the company fights to keep it on I will contact you for a refund for this service.
