Teddy Nissan Reviews (94)

My experience with Teddy Nissan has been unprofessional and unacceptable. I purchased a used certified vehicle on 2/**/15 and have had several issues (seatbelt, airbag light, VDC light, brakes, rattling/crackling noise, trunk rattles, bolts fell off mudguard). I gave the service department a chance to fix it (it has been in the service dept four times since I bought it!) but they were unable to remedy all issues The last time I was there the [redacted] refused to give me paperwork acknowledging the concerns. I took the time to go to another Nissan to diagnose the issues and received documentation that the problems persist. I bought it back to Teddy Nissan and they still refused to acknowledge the issues. Recently their offer was to lease (I financed the car I purchased) for $70 more than I am currently paying. How is this acceptable? I get sold a lemon car and they then get more money from me?

I would not wish their customer service on my worst enemy. These guys rip off customers and they don't care. The car is unsafe as the noises are still present and the car remains parked in the driveway while I rack up rental car bills. It's so frustrating that my vehicle turned out to garbage and even worse that they don't find it necessary to fix a situation.

DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM TEDDY NISSAN!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE!!!!

Review: I went to teddy Nissan to search for a used vehicle. I choose a vehicle and proceed to sign up.

few months after car purchase, I pull up my credit score and to my surprise they have submit 18 inquiries to multiples creditors. I contacted them last week to discuss about it and the finance manager told me that is something they did in my favor in the intend for a better interest rate.

what I think is unethical practice because they should ask the potential customer which banks would you like to work with. I am searching to purchase a house and those multiple inquiries screw up my credit report which is reflecting "too many inquiries in the last 12 months".

I will have to wait 24 months from the purchase date to get rid of those negative marks which is not fair at all.

I would like you "Revdex.com" to advice customers about this unfair practice not only car seeker.

Review: I mistakenly leased a car through Teddy Nissan in 2014. I currently pay extra every month, as agreed, so that twice per year, we are able to bring the car in to have it serviced, free of charge.

On 9/**/15, my wife brought the car in for the second time this year to receive the aforementioned free service. She was charged $300 against her will and forced to pay for something that we should have received for free.

I called Teddy Nissan, the woman couldn't be understood over the phone, couldn't find my invoice to check the charges, and then hung up on me.

I contacted the Nissan Corporation in Japan, they wouldn't return any of my e-mails.

The Revdex.com is literally my last recourse to have these funds refunded to me. Frankly, I am horrified that a dealership such as this one that needs to have a positive reputation to conduct business would take advantage of a customer in this way, my wife.Desired Settlement: Refund $300. The invoice says $139.82 for Labor, $135.72 for Parts, and $24.46 for Tax. Total $300.00 even.

Review: I went into this dealership in hoping to finance a new vehicle. My sales person, [redacted], was the one who helped me from the moment I went into the building. When he was aware of the exact vehicle I wanted, he began to rush through the entire process to finalize the deal we had made. He located a vehicle that I was interested in and then began to complete all the paper work that was required. He then stated that I would need to leave $240 in order to pay for the registration, plates and any other DMV fee. I gave him $240 in cash and they proceeded to try and work things out with the finance of the vehicle. I went in to speak to a finance manager who kept asking me questions and when I was about to sign the paper to buy the vehicle he mentioned that the finance would not work and I would need to leave $1200 and then I would be able to walk out. When I refused to do that, and said that I needed to think about it, the gentleman was very upset. After about another hour, I decided to cancel the deal entirely since no one seemed to want to help me with what I was offering. I asked [redacted] to please give me my money back. He reluctantly began filling out a form that stated that I would be getting a check. I told him that I gave him cash and would perfer that. He gave me a story saying that the gentleman who has the cash had left for the day and he is the only one that knows the combination to the safe, which was where the money was located. He stated that he would give me a call in the morning so I can pick up my check. Two days later and nothing happened. Then, I got a phone call from a finance manager at the company and he said that he wanted to know why my deal didn't work. I explained and when I mentioned that I wanted my money back he said that he was under the impression that I paid with a credit or debit card and that's why they were issuing me a check. I kindly said no and he stated that he would make sure Juan would give me a call the same day. It is not almost a week later and I spoke to the receptionist on Friday, July [redacted] who also said that someone would call me to make sure I get my money back. It is not almost a week later and I have had no contact from them and everyone I speak to say they will call me back and never do.Desired Settlement: I would like my $240 that I left in cash to them.

I purchased a new 2015 Nissan rogue yesterday and reading this site makes me think differently about Teddy Nissan. I was treated with the utmost respect and I never did once feel I was being cheated. They gave me the ins and outs of the transaction and made sure I was fully aware of everything that was going on. I thank the Teddy Nissan employees from the Sales aspect to the finance aspect and the delivery aspect you've all truly made me feel I was important thank you very much.

Review: [redacted] and [redacted] did a flim-flam right along with Nissan Dealers. the contract was written twice and they pulled a switch a roo on the innocent customer, me. they shake your hand, then they shake your pockets. I bought a Nissan 2009 Altima for $12000, these guys switched the paperwork on me and it was listed for $13665. then [redacted] sold me a $1000 warranty for $3200. this is in addition to the previous complaint regarding the contract I signed. [redacted] also told me that I must bring him $840 when I get my title to the car because he is giving me discount on the warranty which is not listed anywhere on the documents. I got up and walked out of his office because a Nissan employee is requesting money from me, the customer now. what type of business practice is going on here?

I was referred to Teddy Nissan to purchase a good used Nissan from them and what I got was a bag of lies and contract deceit. [redacted] sold me a Nissan Altima 2009 and reduced the price to about $2000. also, he said he was going to sell me the warranty for $1000 which was a bag of lies too. I asked for a rebate and incentive and that was supposed to be it but was never listed on the final documents which were switched on me. the listed price on the final document stated $12,000 and somehow it was switched to $13665, there were no deductions except for my deposit. also the warranty was listed at $3200 instead of $1000. there is a rebate listed at the very bottom for $500, but no one ever mentioned it to me, so someone received $500 at Nissan and it wasn't me. I reviewed all of this information with the [redacted], and of course he said "you signed a written binding contract so you know what you were doing". the day I bought the car I was in the dealer for about three and a half hours and my daughter had to go to work. I left the dealer, papers were not ready to sign, returned later that evening. I was showed one set of documents and then received another set of documents which I noticed the day after I bought the car. the salesman wrote down one figure on plain white paper, and another figure was on the carbon copy. Nissan dealer is very manipulative. the customer service gets a fat F. only the women were nice.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of $1665 from the cars price, a refund of $2200 from the warranty price. the car was sold for $13665 and [redacted] told me $12000. the warranty was $1000 and [redacted] wrote $3200. I request my money to be returned in the amount of $3665.

I just want the public to know that this dealer must be monitored. I don't know how they switched the papers on me, but they managed to.

This customer was contacted by [redacted], [redacted], and he offered the customer the option of cancelling the warranty. The customer declined, and asked that it be left as is.

Review: I went to Teddy Nissan in the Bronx on 10/*/2014 Wednesday night to see if they can help me regarding my current Nissan Versa 2013 vehicle I want to trade in for a newer vehicle and at this point it seems like they are but I feel like I am also getting the run around. I was told someone would get back to me on Thursday and no one ever got back to me on Thursday. When I called and spoke with [redacted] she lied to me telling me the sales person I dealt with [redacted] was busy taking someone on a test drive. He eventually never called me back and then I took the initiative to email the sales man who took care of me, [redacted] and he called me back on Thursday night at 7:17pm 10/*/2014 from his cellphone to tell me that he was off from work and will take care of me on Friday, 10/*/2014. I was promised, given hope and guaranteed they are going to help me and put me in a brand new vehicle with no doubt. [redacted] even took me on a test drive in a 2014 Nissan Sentra and a 2015 Nissan Altima to boost up my hopes even more. I was told unless I put a lot of money down between 4 to $5,000 they will not be able to a deal with me or help me with purchasing a new vehicle. I expressed to [redacted] that I am a single mother on 1 income and the only money I had to put down was $700.00 but that was not enough for him but yet he still waisted my time on Wednesday to see what he can do which was nothing. All I did was wait around at his desk for more than 1 hour. At around 7:58pm I was told to go and speak with [redacted], the [redacted] who recommended after speaking with him that I have my car repo by the bank since my credit score was already at a low [redacted]. I could not believe they were suggesting this option to me. He told me he would call the banks to verbally see what he can do but I was once again guaranteed I would have a new car on Friday and a deal can be worked out. [redacted] also said once the car gets repo then he would be able to get me more than likely a loan from a bank so I can start fresh from scratch. I do not understand how this would be possible when having a repo from a bank would actually bring my credit score lower than it already was. He said I would definitely be able to have a brand new car on Friday, 10/*/2014. Its now Friday, 10/*/2014 1:02pm and I did not hear back from the sales man or anyone regarding my application. At 1:23pm [redacted] calls me from his cellphone not the company phone to tell me he cant do anything. I expressed to him why did he lie to me on Wednesday. I told [redacted] I will be emailing corporate Nissan and he said" email the president of the U.S. for all I care". I do not appreciate getting spoken to in that type of mannerism. Teddy Nissan has already appraised my car, took down all the necessary information they needed and even called Capital One to get the buy out on my Pre-Owned Nissan. The dealer even took my registration info from my car made a copy of my license and told me he would not be waisting his time going through this whole process unless he knows he would be able to make a sale off of me. I expressed to [redacted] that my salary is more than enough to prove to a bank I earn enough money to pay off a car as I already have with the current vehicle I own for 11 months which is a Versa 2013, now it is all up to Teddy Nissan to make a deal for me and give me what I have all along been asking for which is a brand new vehicle with ZERO miles and the Altima I originally asked for 1 year ago and wanted which I was entitled to. It is very upsetting how a single mother, a woman can get taken advantage of and spoken to like I am not an educated individual and will not be doing anything about the situation. NISSAN NEW ROCHELLE was basically telling me that I AM STUCK with my car and they are sorry I dealt with a horrible sales man that treated me unfairly...is that ALL? I am floored at this how unfairly I have been treated from DAY 1 a year ago and NOW I am told NOTHING can be done at all for me when I know something can be done especially since I already currently own one of their vehicles.

I even asked Teddy Nissan if they can find me a car that is below my loan amount and basically it seems like they have washed their hands with me telling me they CANNOT do anything and unless I come with 4 to $5,000 down then maybe they can see what they can do. I feel like I have been used, mistreated, and NISSAN will get the worse review ever from me and I will recommend people to never purchase a Nissan. Thanks to Teddy Nissan I checked my credit score with [redacted] and my credit score has taken a HUGE DIP with 19 INQUIRIES added to my report since Wednesday 10/*/2014. This is UNBELIEVABLE? They just made my credit look a whole lot worse...what were they thinking and doing toying around with my credit report??? I have hard proof if needed to show the huge dip my credit has taken thanks to Teddy Nissan. All I have been wanting was to do a trade in for a NEW car or even the car of my choice that I had originally wanted 1 year ago. I clearly make enough money at my job which can be verified and have made 10 successful payments regardless of my credit so I know something can be worked out and done for me.

THEY are the WORST DEALERSHIP EVER. HORRIBLE SERVICE and looks like they do a lot of things shady.Desired Settlement: Find a replacement vehicle to put me in that I am happy with whether brand new or certified pre-owned as long as it is within the loan amount capital has given to me or whether it is even putting me I n a new vehicle with NO Money down. I am aware my monthly car payments will be higher I just want to be happy and continue paying for a car of my choice and work with a salesman who is really happy to help me in any way shape or form which is what customer service is all about.

This customer had a significant amount of negative equity in current vehicle. We earnestly tried to obtain lending approval from several banks, but were unable to obtain for the customer. At no time did we request or receive any money or deposit from the customer.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

I was told by the [redacted] that regardless of the negative equity on my car they were positive and they will be able to put me in a new vehicle and also suggested that once my I can have my vehicle repossessed by the bank they will then be able to get me a loan for a new car. I find this hard to believe because with me allowing a bank to repo my car that would actually destroy my credit significantly. Also, I do not appreciate Teddy Nissan destroying my credit even more after making 25 inquiries against my credit which has now lowered my credit score another 20 to 30 points. This dealer, sales person named [redacted] also said he would be able to still work with me with no money down which is why he processed my paperwork and made copies of my registation, etc. The sales guy quote on quote said "he goal is to make a sale and if he knew he was not going to make a sale off me he would not be waisting his time with me and processing my paperwork and taking me on test drives in their new vehicles". I was lied to, cheated on and now they have destroyed my credit. They even appraised my car and told me they were going to bury the negative equity, I do not know how but he said he would be able to bury the negative equity and I told him not to do that to just add it to a new loan. He said regardless of my credit which was higher than it is now, he said he would still be able to put me in a new vehicle but that my car payments would be higher, I have proof my income which he said proves I make more than enough money to make the payments. I was only late once on my car payment out of the 11 months having this vehicle. I want RESOLVED them putting me in the new vehicle they promised me and drawing up a new loan as they stated would happen and fixing the situation I now have to face with all the credit bureaus after they made an additional 25 inquiries against my credit. I should not have to be treated this way, spoken to the way I was and lied to by sales guys. [redacted] even told me that he was guaranteed to put me in a new vehicle because the lady he took care of before me was unemployed and still was able to walk out of the car lot in a new vehicle. NOW answer me on how he was able to make that happen??

Review: I was interested in a car they had that was in my budget - they ended up selling the vehicle.

I was shown a different vehicle which was out of my budget and was advice by the sales rep Shane that I can get my funds back if I change my mind - when I did change my mind and ask for my refund of 1000 they don't want to refund my money - this is not the first case like this I've seen - there are many bad reviews with this specific company on Google.Desired Settlement: 1000 Refunded

Review: On 7/**/13 I entered the Teddy Nissan Dealer ship at 12:30 pm with a friend looking to purchase a 2010 Nissan Murano The sales person [redacted] introduce himself as the sales consultant for Teddy Nissan who will be assisting me. [redacted] showed me a few cars which interested me but were a little out of my price range ( 15,000 MCU approved Auto Loan) and assured me he would work with me. Once I picked out the car [redacted] informed the finance department to start the paper work. We then proceeded with filling out paper work with my personal information, while the fiance dept. approves my loan for the car I picked which was about 21, 000. 5,000 more then what I had. Part of the paperwork [redacted] had me fill out was a $200.00 deposit for Plates and registration fee, I was a little confused at this point, so I ask why are you asking for a $200.00 dollar deposit now when I haven't been approved for the car as of yet? [redacted] stated that this is part of the process and comes with the purchase of the vehicle. Once again I asked why are you charging me $200.00 now without a Vehicle [redacted] stated his financial team is working on making sure you get the car you picked even though I was 5,000 short with bad credit. But, if it doesn't work out we will gladly return your money. So I proceeded to give my bank information expecting a full refund if I leave without a Vehicle. 3 hours later I 'm still sitting in the dealer ship waiting for the finances depart to find another bank to approve the 5,000 dollars I needed for the first vehicle choice. At this time [redacted] stated he would like to show me another car worth less then my first choice and I agreed. [redacted] walked me out back and showed me a 2008 Jeep compass and asked what did I think, my first question was, how much miles was on it, and how many owners. This car had 36,00+ miles which was good and one owner and it came with a nice price tag 17,000 not bad so we took it for a test drive, I liked it and changed my choice. [redacted] stated he will inform his boss to see if they agree. [redacted] came back and stated his Boss is working on the second choice. It is now 6 pm and still sitting at the dealership waiting on this car when [redacted] approaches me and stated lI want to show another car. At this point all I wanted to was leave, I told [redacted] I would like my 200.00 dollars refunded and placed back into my bank account before I leave. [redacted] stated, give me a minute and went back to speak with his Boss. [redacted] returned with another offer, and tried to convince me ([redacted] own words sometime we can't get what we want on the first try, we need to start at the bottom and work our way up. At this point it was around 8:30 pm and I refused to look at anymore cars and only wanted my deposit back. [redacted] stated that he just wanted to show me one more car just in case it does not work out. So I proceeded with [redacted] to another lot across the street from the dealership, keep in mind it was dark out and the lot had no Lighting visibility. [redacted] reached into his pocket and proceeded to pull out a pocket flashlight in order to see this car which was in no way near my first or second choice. I refused to know anything further about this vehicle. this Vehicle had a key scratch from one side of the car to the other. I proceeded to walk out the lot requesting my deposit. At this point I had made up my mind to leave without anything when [redacted] stated he had a deal on the table for my second choice and to give him a few minutes to hear the details from the financial dept, so I agreed. It is now 9:30 pm and still at the dealership when the financial department lowered the price to 14,999.00 on my second choice to fit my already approved auto loan from MCU, but I still had to get insurance which [redacted] started to the process earlier on. [redacted] stated the dealership can find me an insurance company without a problem. I agreed finally the deal went through and around 10:30 pm I finally drove out the dealership into a rain storm. The next day I had to return the car for a chip in the windshield and water leakage coming from the over head light fixture which were never mentioned. This was the first of many problems with this car and the dealerships handling of the situations. The second problem became the insurance company recommended by the dealership. The dealership had an insurance broker on hand who worked with the costumers who did not have car insurance. Well this broker to me was the middle man, not only did my insurance policy coast me 440.00 dollars monthly, the broker stated I had to pay an additional 700.00 to him. Hmm RED FLAG! On top of that I had two different policies one from progressive and the other from city wide. This did not sit well with me it sounded like a scam so I informed [redacted] and the Finance department. I never paid the broker and found my own insurance co. for less 294.00 State Farm. Teddy Nissan sold me a car which has been in there service department 4 times in the last year. The car has not been in my possession a year yet. one week after I purchased it I went back on 8/**/2013 for the windshield crack and leak which I complained about when I retrieved the car three days later the service dept. stated they fixed the leak and the windshield. The windshield was visible and it was fixed but the leak took longer to notice until it rained one evening and that's when I noticed the leak was not fixed. Also on the invoice for the repairs it stated! Costumer states car does not start, so they took it upon them-self to put a new battery I never complained about the car not starting (if it didn't start how was I able to drive it into the service dept.) This was there doing not mine. So I make another appointment for the service department and they give me a date to bring it back which was on 8/**/2013. This time I stated please check my Transmission I feel something is wrong and to please fix my leak, This car comes back to the service department for the same leak they stated they fixed plus another problem, my transmission which I explained multiple times that it slightly jump when shifting gears, keep in mind this is all in the first month of purchase and covered by my 90 day warranty. So I asked for a loaner while the car is in service, but I’m told I have to pay for it. My question is why should I pay for a car if I just purchased one two weeks ago and it doesn't work? It should be there responsibility to correct the situation and provide the costumer with a vehicle while the work is being done. So the dealership agreed with me and gave me a loaner free of charge with the agreement to full up the gas tank on return. I agreed. Well it took the service department a total of 5 days to fix the leak and they told me the transmission was OK that the jerk I’m feeling was because when car is shifting it jumps a little that's what you’re feeling and because I'm NOT mechanic I took his word. So upon receiving the service receipt I notice some other work done to the car which I never requested to do, the fact it was done was not an issue, but on the service receipt they stated they replaced both front lower control arms. Well let me say this in the 90 days my warranty was active they state all this work was done which I never authorize. Today my car sits in there service department with these same front lower control arms in need of replacing and the same transmission I complained about on the [redacted] of August 2013, which they said nothing was wrong with it, is now no good. The service department refuses to fix the same front suspension system they said they fixed in August the [redacted] and the two year warranty I purchased from the dealership is also debating or taking its time to authorize the service department with the go ahead to start working on the transmission. My car has been in the service department since 6/**/2013 8 am and it still sitting there with no work being done to it. Also the warranty refuses to pay for my loaner which has been in my possession since 5 pm 6/**/2013.

Thank youDesired Settlement: Return the vehicle to the dealership full refund to MCU Auto Loan and full refund of all spending on this car since 8/**/2013.

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Teddy Nissan LLC regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: I purchased a 2013 Nissan Sentra SR at Teddy's Nissan Inc. located at [redacted] on July **, 2013 from [redacted]. Initially I put $2000 down as a down payment for the car and agreed to pay $209/mo for 36 months. I received a check back for $1600 via mail. Original agreement was that my payments would be $209/mo. I was told that my first payment was going to be $354 and that I should send an additional $1709 for tax purposes. Upon receiving my first statement in August I noticed that the $1709 was billed as a credit and that my payments were not $209/mo but they were in fact $354/mo but the remaining $145 would be deducted off the $1709 credit every month for the remainder of the 36 months. I contacted the bank offering the lease on Aug. **, 2013 and told them I wanted to terminate my lease and I was told to just drop off the car and the dealer would take care of the rest. When I went to the dealer on Sept. *, 2013 to drop off my car, I spoke to [redacted] and he ran me off threatening to take me to court and that if I dropped the car off they were not responsible to what happens to it. On Sept. **, 2013 [redacted] called me and said that I should just stay with the car because it makes no sense paying for the car and still have to return it. Not happy with his reply, I told [redacted] I wanted to terminate the lease, he then proceeded to put [redacted] on the phone. [redacted] said I would have to pay a termination fee but would not disclose amount of fee. I contacted [redacted] on Oct *, 2013 to see if we can come to an agreement that would satisfy both of us, [redacted] said he would have to talk to his boss and that he would call me back. [redacted] called me back on Oct. *, 2013 and said that I can drop the car off but I would need to pay $6800. When I went there on Oct. **, 2013 to return the car, [redacted] told me my termination fees would be $6800 for the remaining 30 months and I would not be refunded my $1709 either. And I was not able to pay with a check, like when I initially bought the car, I was told by [redacted] that cash or debit is the only form of payment they will accept. I made 3 payments, one for $354 for the Aug. payment, one for $1709 for tax purposes(allegedly) and one for $209 for the Sept. payment, so I ended up paying $9072 for this vehicle. I honestly feel like I was scammed because I literally paid the lease off and only used the car for a month and 2 weeks exactly. The car only has 693 miles on speedometer and in immaculate condition when I returned it, as it was garaged kept and I only used it 3 times within that period, so the car is still brand new. Also, the receipt I was given seems very shady because it does not have my name on it and it does not show that it was a termination of lease, instead it represents that Teddy's Nissan bought over the lease, which is not the case.Desired Settlement: I am aware that there is always a fee when terminating a contract early but I do not think that the fee should be as much or equal to me paying the lease off. I am willing to agree to pay for 3 months, which includes the 2 months I already paid plus an extra $509 for restocking purposes but I would like the remaining $8000 to be refunded to me regardless of what the normal fees are, as this is not a normal situation.

Response:

Customer signed a contract agreeing to pay $354.49 X 36, a total of $12,761 to pay over 36 months.

[redacted] decided to break the contract. To break the contract he needed $6,800 certified check plus whatever else he had already sent to the bank.

Contracts are not meant to be broken without penalties. This was his choice.

Our [redacted] called the customer to explain again, customer is not in agreement.

We are in compliance with the contract customer signed.

Should you need further information please contact me at your earliest convenience.
