I sold multiple items through The RealReal's website (they're an online consignment business)As a result, I received various commission checks between 2015-I moved homes in and misplaced some checks and when I found them about weeks ago, I called and emailed The Real Real and asked them to be reissued since they were too old to be cashed/depositedSince 6/1/17, I have called and emailed The RealReal at least different timesOn 6/22/and on 7/3/17, I received emails from The RealReal stating the checks were going to be mailed to me that day via overnight service - I have yet to receive anythingI called The RealReal again on 7/17/asking for a status of these missing checks and again was told that they'd be sent via overnight mailNothing received yetThis company is a mess and I question the ethics of their business processesI get the runaround from Customer Service and am lied toThey owe me money and I want to be paid asap

I purchased a pair of used men's *** Leather *** *** *** on July 20, The item's description was as follows: *** Leather *** *** - Men's Brown Leather *** *** *** Sandals With H Accents At *** And *** LogoAll of the description was correct except for the colorWhen I received the item - which I purchased for $295, I immediately saw that the sandals were black - not brownI loved the color brown - it goes with most of the things that I wear - and I am ok with black - but I felt that The Real Real misrepresented the itemWhen I contacted customer service - they apologized - and said that they could send an RMA for returnI told them that I'm still happy with the item - but because they misrepresented the item's color - I'm not as happy and disappointed with the sandals AND their lack of customer serviceI asked for an adjustment or credit for my disappointment and inconvenience of having to contact themThey basically had a "I DON'

This company is sketchy, half the time they are ok, the other times there are just unusual business practices and their reaponse to issues take so long I have bought items and consigned with themOne of my items, a brand new watch that I couldn't sell myself, I consigned with them and they claim they couldn't accept it as it is difficult to sell However, when they returned the item, the watch was missing! I have also consigned where they take months to put your items on sale and it takes a month to pay you

Therealreal ripped me offTheir operations are a messThey steal people's valuable itemsThey have terrible customer serviceI have a statement in writing from one of their employees stating that I did not approve the sell of one of my personal itemsTherealreal had a mixed up with the warehouse and forgot to ship my item back to meInstead they sold my item well under its valueThey refused to pay me for the item and they cant retrieve it from the person who purchased itI no bag and no payment for itThis company is a fraud

The company takes your money, promises delivery in 3-business days, but doesn't follow throughE mails aren't answered and customer service, on the phone have no clue what happened to the product

I was sold an almost year old bag for almost $that was patched up enough to look OK on the surface but within two months of light use, the handle is literally hanging by a thread! Also shows signs of glue, which I'm sure *** didn't use to attach it's handles!
Customer service refuses to acknowledgeBuying used isn't worth it! Even if it's discontinuedIve had better luck on ***!!

I sent a Fendi bag in, not new, but good condition to be soldIt didn't sell after months so I asked for it back: COMPLETELY RUINEDBag was stored in a crushed position for months so now it is worthless although it still had years of good use aheadIt took them a month to get back to me only to say they would look into itIt has been more weeks and Im still waitingSo now I have no bag to wear or to sellThe most aggravating experiencestars

I am a widowed blind senior I live alone with service dog I was referred by a handbag restorer to their sales rep Their sales rep went into my spare bedroom and removed things for consignment without asking me and without my permission She stuffed things into bags without identifying what she was taking Then, she walked out of the house with bags of my property Fortunately, the entire theft was caught on a surveillance camera She took vintage heirlooms that personally belonged to Coco Chanel, and walked out of the house without looking back When my aide discovered the missing property on their website, I demanded the immediate return of my property I was told that it would "take time" I am planning to press criminal charges

I purchased a handbag online from The RealReal that was 'not returnable' which was not an issue for me because I read the description of the bag thoroughly before I purchasedHowever, when I received it I found that it was falsely described as being a larger handbag than it actually isThe width measurement was stated as being '14-1/2" but it is only 12" and much smallerI immediately emailed The RealReal with my complaint last Friday (3/16/18) and have not received a responseI believe that they are engaging in deceptive business practices by not accurately describing items that they might not be able to sell otherwise and then try to cover themselves by not allowing returnsI also have the email I sent to them if you need it and can also provide a link to the item I purchased online with the description

I purchased a watch advertised and guaranteed to be water resistant to original mfg specsThe watch broke the first day I received itNot only did the advertise and tout their company's reputation for verifying designer consigned merchandiseThey clearly didn't do any of the tests that were advertisedIt was just a marketing ploy with hopes that the products they're selling just happen to still be working according to the OEM standardsNow after returning the item they're refusing to refund me the shipping feeAnd they're claiming it's a non-refundable shipping and processing chargeI can understand if I was at fault in some way and being responsible for the returnBut, they misled me and are now refusing to offer me a full refund

I sent you an email right after I purchased a *** * *** bag on July 29th with screenshot photos showing there was NOT any additional photos of the bag to show the signs of wearThis was before I received the bag! Because there was a glitch in your app I wanted to be proactive in emailing you if there were any issuesThere was only the cover photo so the wear I could not seeThe piping is coming through the side (which I could not see because photos weren't loaded) and wear all over the sidesThis isn't the first time this has happened by the way where only a cover photo it loaded and then later there are additional photosI emailed several times and you finally responded on August 9th stating that the photos and description were accurateGetting back to me almost two weeks later is not customer service at allHave you even reviewed my purchase history and the over $100,I have spent on your site and you are denying a return because your app didn't provide any additional

I sent my watch to The Real Real to sell late last summer This watch retailed at $44, They gave me a price to sell in to days that never sold They said if it did not sell they would give me a list of 3rd party sellers Upon my constant urging they put the price down, they listed it on "Sale" and it sold with a three week return policy It was returned Another couple of months and it went back on and sold and now is returned again They obviously do not have any idea how to price, sell, set policy etc on watches of value I requested a no return and they said no because it would be harder to sell, six months later I have an expensive watch who two people has basically borrowed and the sales price is diminishing This company needs to stop lying about what they can do and the best way to do it

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/11) */
Unfortunately we cannot give Ms*** the item she purchased because we cannot find itAny warehouse will have a small number of items that can't be foundit's called "shrink"In our business, each item is unique, so if we can't find the
item a customer ordered, we must cancel that itemThat's what happened hereMs*** ordered two items on order #RXXXXXXXXXwe could not find item JILXXXXX, so we notified her and refunded her for that itemWe also provided her a courtesy site credit of $25, which she is apparently mistaking as a $refundThe item has NOT been relisted on our website, as she states, at a higher price, or at allbecause we cannot find it

There are numerous accounts here of The Real Real selling fakes, and if you want more, go search The Purse Forum for the company's name + fakeNot only do they sell fakes, they re-list fakes after they've been notifiedDisgustingThey should be criminally investigated for knowingly trafficking counterfeitsI made the mistake of consigning some authentic goods of my own, under the assumption that they would list them for comparable prices to the ones the list the same items for all the timeHow wrong I wasThe is that work there can't tell the difference between an evening gown and a maxi dress, and I ended up with less than $for a $Alexander McQueen dressNow they spam me every few days, hungry for more consignmentsEvery time I get a consignment email from them, it reminds me to warn more people awayThese people want your items to sell in bulk to line their pocketsThey will do anything to make even a single dollar, and they couldn't care less about the value of your items, much less whether they're real or fakeSteer clear of these devious people!

I am having a terrible experience with them over consigningThey say that they accept items that are bought at their shop before, and in same or similar conditionI sent them items, that were all bought at themThen I got a notice that told me of them were not acceptedI am sure that of were never used/wornAlso they were bought in a year or a halfOther are just worn once or twiceDefinitely in same or similar condition, but they declined and is shipping those items back to me in multiple boxes(They say that they're going to charge shipping cost when they ship unaccepted items back.) They just sold me items that shouldn't be sold at their shop, so they don't accept those when they were consigned in again by a regular customerThey just accept anything from bigger retail businesses, even though item's brands were not on the brand list they usually accept, or with some minor defectThen they sell those as "pristine" conditionI usually bought only "pristine" itemsrejected items were also pristineBut now they were not accepted because I am a just regular customer, not a big retailerThey shouldn't accept any items that they don't want to accept from regular consigners, even from big retailersThey shouldn't say that they will accept items for consigning that are bought at their store before, and in same or similar condition, if they don't want toBig mistakes, big conditional rules and big PARTIALITY! I am so insulted, treated in very unkind wayCustomers, beware!!!! Don't drain your money, time and feelings for this company!

On June 4, I received an email from *** ***, Business Development Representative in regards to an appointment I had planned on June 5, for the valuation of two Louis Vuitton BagsThe email provided additional information on co-signing with *** *** *** and ended with confirmed additional promotions that were being run for commission payment of the certain items that were being cosignedIn the email, *** noted that there was an increased commission structure of 70% for all handbags that were valued above $1,(as opposed to their typical 55% opening commission rate)At my appointment a Valuation Manager noted that this was not validAfter follow up with ***, she noted that she had made a mistake and would not honor the promotion confirmed to me on June 4, After asking for her to confer with her manager, *** ***, Business Development Manager, further confirmed I would not be offered the promotion that was sent to me on June 4, of the increas

The company started out terrific for consigners, however, its growth spurt has ruined the initial great service offered I have consigned with them in the past without issues and decided to send some more items recently I have submitted two items for consignment on July 5, One of the items was a pair of shoes which was inputted in their system under a wrong designerThe other item is not processed to date, more than a month after I have called numerous times and spoke to various representatives and their response has consistently been the same: “we are working on it, sending emails to our other team and our warehouse is experiencing a back log.” I have asked to speak to the supervisor who is never available and did not return my calls To date, one of my items remains categorized incorrectly and the other is not up on the site New consigners beware, the company is very disorganized and you will wait for an extended period of time to see your items for sale, providing there is no mistake in the listing Very disappointing experience with the Real Real

The Realreal - Horrible Customer Service!!! I can not belief what just happen.I consider myself pretty loyal RealReal customerLike their APP and use them here and thereFor the last the company became very misleading with the representation of the itemsThey take a picture as almost perfect sometime they hide the problem with itemOr they describe the size wrongThey advertised the clothing size as Medium when received size if it is size why don't to put size For some people size is Large, not MediumIf the shoes has old soles they cover up with rubber to sell it "Excellent Condition" with expensive pricingVERY MISLEADING! Just called customer service and lady was yelling on my ears for minutes and when I asked her name she said: " Good bye ma'am!" Lady!, you got hired to answer the phone and assist with customers issue! If you can not do your job why don't you get going to somewhere else (stay home?)Is management of RealReal know their issue with their custome
