Review: I have already tried (repeatedly) and failed (repeatedly) through their online help forum on the delivery of the finisher shirt which they did not have available at the end of the race and took our emails down and stated they would send them out. I've contacted them over 9x due to this issue with no resolve.

Event date – May [redacted] 2015

Previous complaint Tickets: [redacted]

Got a response from my 10/**/15 complaint on 12/*/15 escalating my ticket

12/**/15 received a response asking for my address and saying would be shipping out a shirt.

12/**/15 received a response saying that shirt was packaged and to expect it in 7-10 business days and if I didn’t get it within 2 weeks to feel free to contact them (Kim).

1/*/15 I emailed to advise that I still did not receive my item and received this response

“[redacted]. TMHQ”

1/**/16 I sent another email asking where they were shipping from that it has been over a month and still hasn’t made it.

1/**/16 after no response back to previous email attempt I filed this complaint

Thank you for your time,

###-###-####Desired Settlement: I would like the shirt that I worked for and was told I would receive or I would like an entry into a race since sending a shirt seems to be a very hard task.

Review: Tough Mudder customer support personnel have failed to respond to numerous emails requesting an event transfer to a new date. Apparently there is an issue with their system not allowing transfers to occur. Additionally, there is significant lag in between communications, often repeating the same message as the original email.

At this point, I no longer wish to exchange to a future event. The complete lack of customer support in this situation is unacceptable, and I no longer wish to do business with a company that has such a complete lack of respect and timeliness for customers paying nearly $200 for a competition ticket.Desired Settlement: At this point, I no longer wish to exchange to a future event. Review: A Tough Mudder athletic race was pre-scheduled and advertised as being location TBD (to be determined) within 90-minutes of Virginia Beach, VA on June [redacted]. Participants were made aware that the race date would be moved from June [redacted] to June [redacted] via email, but were not presented with the appropriate material regarding the distance to the location. The TBD venue then selected AFTER purchase is 115 minutes from Virginia Beach, (a travel time determined and advertised by Tough Mudder, LLC themselves), but refuse to adhere to their originally advertised location or issue any refunds, citing their refund policy as follows: "Emergency Delay or Cancellation: I acknowledge that Tough Mudder LLC at its sole discretion may delay, modify, or cancel the TM event if conditions or natural or man-made emergencies make administering the event unreasonably difficult or unsafe. I agree that “emergency” is defined to mean any event beyond the control of Tough Mudder LLC, including but not limited to: high wind, extreme rain or hail, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, flood, acts of terrorism, fire, threatened or actual strike, labor difficulty or work stoppage, insurrection, war, public disaster, and unavoidable casualty. In the event of a delay, modification, or cancellation of the TM event as described in this paragraph, I understand that I will not be entitled to a refund of my entry fee or any other costs incurred in connection with the TM event." Additionally: "I hereby understand and acknowledge that all fees and associated costs (including optional product purchases, spectator tickets, and donations), paid in registration for this Tough Mudder event are NOT REFUNDABLE FOR ANY REASON, under any circumstances, including but not limited to injury, a scheduling conflict, and/or event cancellation. I also understand that active duty or deployed military participants may be entitled to a refund on a case-by-case basis upon providing sufficient, official documentation regarding the deployment that conflicts with participating in the event." However, it should be known that the commitment to locating an appropriate venue was "guaranteed" by Tough Mudder, and was not provided - something not made known until after purchases were made and thus became non-refundable. Registrants were notified of the date change and offered a refund if submitted by March **, but made no mention to the venue as being outside the advertised distance of 90-minutes.Desired Settlement: Tough Mudder LLC should be held accountable and liable for costs to those registrants and potential participants who purchased non-refundable event entry fees for a race that was falsely advertised. Consumers were baited with a 90-minute driving window, and then found themselves "stuck" and switched with a venue that was outside of the original contractual agreement with Tough Mudder. Additionally, they should acknowledge their practices as being dishonest and legally insufficient as to the terms of the contacts that they themselves set forth.

Case #: [redacted]

Consumer Name: [redacted]

Desired Outcome: Full refund

Tough Mudder Response:Customer was issued a full refund for her and her friends back tot he credit card she used to register. Each registration was refunded $110.00. Customer was emailed this on 7/**/2013 that the refunds would go back onto their credit card and they were happy to get their desired outcome.

Review: On July **, 2015 the Tough Mudder Organization canceled an event due to bad weather conditions. The sent out communication to participants that since the July [redacted] event was canceled, they could run on July [redacted] or chose a free transfer to another event. I was unable to run on July [redacted] and therefore looked for additional information on the transfer.

After receiving instructions on how to transfer, I found that my ticket was unable to be transferred through the website appropriately. I contacted Tough Mudder support on in August **, 2015 to resolve this issue. My initial support request was never responded to. My second ticket was sent on August ** and was never responded to. After my third ticket was submitted in September 2015, someone finally answered. To this day (December 2015) no one on their support team has been able to assist me with getting a transfer.

I have sent them the correspondence that Tough Mudder originally sent out regarding the free transfer and they have responded to me with instructions for a paid late transfer. When I mentioned that this was to be a free transfer and sent them evidence that indicated as such (the original email from the Tough Mudder Organization), they told me they do no do free transfers. I again responded back indicating that I should not have to pay for the transfer. After this, they responded back to me that because I pre-registered (to assist in streamlining the process for the day of the event) on Friday July [redacted] as many others did that same day, that I am not able to transfer my ticket. I pre-registered, but due to the event being canceled, I was not able to run. I again responded back to them indicating that I pre-registered like hundreds of other people that day and that I did not run and my free transfer is still valid. The last correspondence was again another set of paid transfer instructions. I feel that I am not getting my point across and that the issue is in a circle with no resolution in sight.Desired Settlement: I feel that the Tough Mudder Organization has also not held up their end of the agreement and has been horribly unhelpful in resolving my issue. I would like to request a refund, even though I understand this may not occur as their policies state they don't. I have basically spent $150 and gotten nothing but a headache for my efforts. I am too tired of the lack of assistance to pursue this issue any further; I don't even want the transfer anymore as I am disappointed and dissatisfied. I have no plans of ever attending another one of their events.

Also, I would like the knowledge out there that the Tough Mudder Organization is not honoring their agreements. I have seen through numerous postings on support and [redacted] pages that Tough Mudder has not honored this agreement with others as well. Many people have lost out on hundreds of dollars due to this transfer issue.

All in all, I feel this could have been solved if

-they had a customer support contact number so that I could call and talk to an actual representative

-they honored the communicated agreement that was sent out to participants

Sincerely,

Review: Tough Mudder advertised a promotion, whereby if you refer a friend, both you and the friend receive a $10 [redacted] gift card. I referred two friends, both of whom signed up for my team on October **, 3105, but neither they nor I ever received the promised gift cards. After trying various different emails (and being told repeatedly to contact someone else with the problem), I received a response in early November that my email would be addressed in "the next couple of days." I did not receive a response until nearly two months later, on January *, when I was told that the promotion was only for events in 2016 and given a link to a different promotion and told that the promotion was only valid for 2016 events. The promotion is found here:

The link does not say what they claim it says. I says "offer good through 2016 events," which includes the October **, 2015, event that two of my friends joined under Tough Mudder's false advertising scheme. I have searched for a telephone number to contact this company, but the only listed number is disconnected. If you aren't going to follow through with your promise, you should not make it, as it just creates bad will for what otherwise would have been a fun event.Desired Settlement: Tough Mudder should honor its advertisement and follow through with the promised gift cards.

Review: I have run several TM and have had a lot of fun. I decided to sign up for the WTM this year. There was a code that TM released saying you get 25% off your order. No where did TM say that it did not include WTM (the code was HBTM). I wanted to sign up and contacted CS to honor the code. The gentleman informed me that he could not honor it (even though the mistake was on their end) but could give me a 75 dollar credit as a courtesy credit once I bought a WTM and sent him the info. I did exactly that. I never received the 75 off. I tried messaging him again and the same thing happened. I will attach the entire conversation we had but will remove his name as I do not want him to get in trouble as he may have just forgotten.Desired Settlement: Something reasonable to make up for this. I was planning on buying a season pass for 2016 so maybe a discounted price on that or future races since I'm guessing a refund for my WTM is too late.

Review: As stated to the Tough Mudder Customer Service:

Dear Sir / Madam,

It is with regret that my son, [redacted], will not be attending the Tough Mudder Long Island on Saturday August **, 2015. I had the opportunity to read about the concerns surrounding the safety and integrity of your course, most notably the article in the NY Post on Tuesday July **, 2015. Your course was the topic of several radio talk shows yesterday and they all have outlined numerous safety issues and concerns. My son is a NCAA athlete, in his senior year, and cannot afford to risk the injuries described by the media. There was obviously no mention of these potential pitfalls during the registration process. Otherwise he would have never signed up for the event.

Accordingly, it would be much appreciated if you would refund my son's [redacted] Account for the cost of the registration, $153.77.

Thank you, [redacted].

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The business refuses to refund our money. They want to give me a credit for another event. Withdrawal from the original event was due to all the publicized safety issues and the accident someone had during one of their events. Why would I want a credit to participate in a future event. Thank you,[redacted]

We are sorry that ** feels this way. While we wish we could accommodate **'s request, we have stated in our previous email this is against our policy that was agreed to during registration which states:I hereby understand and acknowledge that all fees and associated costs (including optional product purchases, spectator tickets, and donations), paid in registration for this Tough Mudder event are NOT REFUNDABLE FOR ANY REASON, under any circumstances, including but not limited to injury, a scheduling conflict, and/or event cancellation. I also understand that active duty or deployed military participants may be entitled to a refund on a case-by-case basis upon providing sufficient, official documentation regarding the deployment that conflicts with participating in the event.Despite our best efforts the customer will not accept this. Tough Mudder has provided every accommodation possible given our policies.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[While the recitation of their posted policy is appreciated, they also post the following: "Tough Mudder is a team-oriented 10-12 mile (18-20 km) obstacle course designed to test physical strenght and mental grit. Tough Mudder puts camaraderie over finisher rankings and is not a timed race but a team challenge that allows participants to experience exhilarating, YET SAFE, world class obstacles they wont find anywhere else." This statement appears on their web site and inaccurately represents that the event is SAFE.My request for a refund is not based on an injury, scheduling conflict or any of the other reasons intimated in their policy. As publicized in the media, they cannot guanrantee the safety of the event. Once their apparent negligence came to light, a refund was promptly requested. The only acceptable and simplest resolution is a full refund. Thanks and apologies that this back and forth continues. ]

Review: I registered for a Tough Mudder Event and purchased cancellation protection. I have been trying to transfer to another event and not actually cancel. I was unable to do it though Eventbrite and have tried on several occasions to have the matter resolved directly through Tough Mudder. I have gotten emails requesting additional information and have replied every time. I get communications from a different individual every time. The last time I heard from them, I believe was in September.Desired Settlement: To transfer my registration to another event, since I was unable to attend the one I was registered to complete.

Review: I registered for the Tough Mudder sporting event in San Diego because I live in San Diego, CA. However, Tough Mudder has cancelled the event in San Diego. The event is now in Temecula, CA, a small city an hour from San Diego, which will require me to incur additional expense in order to attend the event. Tough Mudder is not offering refunds even though they are not offering the event in the city for which my registration was purchase.Desired Settlement: I want a refund.

Hi Revdex.com,

We have issued the customer (regarding complaint #[redacted]) a full refund of $130.00 on 10/*/2013 and the customer has received the following response from Tough Mudder. The refund will hit the customer's account in the next 7-10 business days.

Hi [redacted]

My name is [redacted] and I'd be glad to make an exception for you to get this refund for the San Diego venue change.

I have gone in and refunded your registration back to the credit card you used to pay for your registration. This credit will take 7-10 business days to show in your account, but it usually takes a couple days to hit your account. If you don't receive this in the next 2-weeks, feel free to give me a shout and we can look into this credit for you.

Thanks for the support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future.

Best,

Review: I am attaching a PDF file of my conversation with a ToughMudder Representative on the date of my last ticket. Order#[redacted]. Once you review the file you will clearly see in the conversation I had with DJ that he instructed me to "go ahead and add the 4th person with the current price and we will process a REFUND for that 25%" - "Just as a one time offer since you said you got the email today" - "Just email us the order number along with your registered email ID and we will process the refund for you."

Like I said when I originally emailed you back. I am not asking for a refund because I was already told I was getting one. I am simply following the instructions that TOUGHMUDDER told me to do in order to receive that refund. I have done everything I was supposed to do on my end. However, now I am being told that you are going against your word as a business, which I have in writing, and will not be issuing me a refund? Clearly this is the opposite of what I was told and I will not stand for it any longer. I'm already unnerved by how I am being treated after I was told that a note would be on my account already "Can you share your registered email ID now so we can make a note on your account for when you come back for the refund?" I did share that email, and now apparently I have to go to war in order to get a simple refund.

I do not appreciate how I am being treated. Again, the two-sided attachment of our conversation clearly states I would be issued a refund.Desired Settlement: REFUND.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. However, apparently you need to contact the Revdex.com in order to receive any response other than automated junk from TM. I'm sincerely disappointed I was given the run-around from TM representatives and that it took over a month and a half to receive a refund I should have been issued that same day. I'm assuming if I didn't have the diligence to keep a physical copy of the conversation between a TM representative and myself that I would have never been issued a refund at all. BEWARE, keep all documentation of transactions/conversations so companies such as this will not push you aside and think they can get away with treating their consumers like cattle once payment clears. I do however appreciate how quick TM was to refund me once the Revdex.com was contacted.

Sincerely,

Review: My wife and I have purchased entrance into a Tough Mudder event for over $250. Due to circumstances beyond our control we found out in advance of the event that we could not attend the scheduled date. We attempted to use the automated system to transfer to a new event, but the site did not function and we were unable to do so.

We have contacted customer service at Tough Mudder through their website 5+ times to try and resolve the issue. Although they state they will respond in 2 days or less we have not been contacted on any of our requests.

Based on this experience, and having learned that this is common with the company, I feel that this is our only recourse to attempt a resolution. We have participated in multiple events in the past and had intended to remain loyal customers, butDesired Settlement: 1) Provide customer service

2) Refund of Payment (~$256)

Business

Response:

Please accept my sincere apologies for that error.I have since found the tickets you have submit through our customer service platform and responded to the problem you are experiencing. Review: On November **,2014, I signed up for Los Angeles March **, 2015 Tough Mudder and paid for the optional/additional insurance: My Order [redacted]

This insurance entitles those individuals signed up for the event to a full refund should they become injured and unable to participate in the event.

I was injured. Tore my [redacted] and provided the MRI report along with Dr recommendation to not participate.

I submitted a claim with [redacted] (subcontractor to Tough Mudder) and refund amount was approved.

My Refund approval code is: [redacted].

This refund has not been issued to me. I have contacted [redacted] and Tough Mudder numerous times and am having no luck.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a full refund in the amount of $148.68 or would also accept a credit/code redeemable for a future event.

Review: I couldn't attend an event, and under Tough Mudder's policy, the ticket could be transferred for a later event. I went through the process before Tough Mudder's deadline, but encountered an error. I took screenshots proving that the site had a glitch and reported it to Support. Support responded at the time (although weeks late) acknowledging the bug. After some back and forth, the only option I was provided was a refund, which I accepted. After a few more weeks I was told the refund was still in progress, then the support rep stopped responding. I reached out to the organization again, and eventually got a reply from another representative, that the issue has been "escalated". Another month has gone by, and my replies to that representative and other inquiries to their support team have not received a response. I have not received the promised refund after several months, and have not heard from the group in weeks.Desired Settlement: I was promised a refund, and expect a refund in a timely manner, without further attempts to reach their support team.

Review: At the toughmudder event in Whistler BC in 2014 prepaid registration coupons were offered for sale for future events. The coupons are marked "valid for any 2014 or 2015 Canadian event" but at the time of purchase the agent selling them assured me they were valid for any North American event excluding worlds toughest mudder. I purchased 2, one of which I used for the 2015 but the second code didn't work when I tried registering for Seattle later in the year.

Before the event I emailed the customer service to try to get it figured out but ultimately the event passed without an answer or me attending it.

After the event I did receive a few emails in early/mid October stating that they were looking into it. The last email I received arrived ** oct, stated:

"[redacted]"

I replied twice to remind them and check on the status. I received nothing back in November, when I asked again last week I received the following automatic reply:

"[redacted]"

In summary my complaint is this; I prepaid for an event which they are not honouring and have now ceased to provide any customer service to me.Desired Settlement: Actually responding to repeat customers would be a nice start.

Accepting pre-purchase code [redacted] for Whistler 2016 or refunding the cost of purchase would be the end goal.

Review: Below is the letter I emailed their customer serice web link on July **, 2015 and have since not even been granted the courtesy of even a reply.

On 12/**/14 or 12/**/14, I signed up for and paid $170.48 for an event you had scheduled for April in the Poconos in Pennsylvania. You gladly accepted my money. Then YOU cancelled the event and never returned my fees paid. It was your cancellation, not mine, and I do not wish to transfer to another event because the next closest one for me is in Philadelphia, and that is not feasible. I hereby request the return of my $170.48 that I paid for an event that you cancelled. I see no reason why I should not be refunded because after all, it was YOU who pulled out of the event, not I. Please get back to me and let me know when I can expect my full refund.Desired Settlement: I signed up for an event that Tough Mudder advertised they would be sponsoring. When THEY cancelled the event, I should have received my entire amount paid, $170.48, refunded due to non-performance. The event was cancelled by THEM. I had no say in the matter and transferring my $$ to another event in Philadelphia is not feasible or even an option for them to suggest. Nothing less than a full refund is expected.

Response:

Tough Mudder has provided the customer with two different options to transfer to an event next year. We are awaiting his response on what option works best for him.

Review: On August [redacted] 2014, I registered myself and 2 others for the Tough Mudder Whistler event that was scheduled for Saturday, June [redacted], 2015. On May [redacted] I attempted to transfer those 3 registrations using the Eventbrite tool, however I received an error that would not allow for the registration transfer. The error stated, "Bummer. Looks like registration for this event is not available.". I was hoping to transfer our registrations to a future event, but I received this same error message when attempting to transfer to any available event options. I tried multiple times, using multiple web browsers and computers, but the issue persisted.

On May [redacted] 2015, one month prior to the event, I contacted both Eventbrite and Tough Mudder

Support for assistance. Eventbrite replied, stating that I would need to contact the organizer, Tough Mudder. Tough Mudder Support replied, stating they would assist and asked for the registration details of the 3 members. I provided the registration info on May [redacted] 2015, but did not hear back from Tough Mudder support even after sending follow-up emails on June [redacted] and June [redacted] 2015.

On July [redacted] 2015, I finally received an email from Tough Mudder support asking if my issue was resolved. I immediately replied, on July [redacted] 2015, stating that it was not and asked for assistance with the event transfer. No reply back, so I sent a final follow-up email on August [redacted] 2015 to which I still have not received a reply.

From what I can tell, I did everything I was supposed to do and everything I could do to qualify for an event transfer. I’ve been incredibly forgiving and patient during this process and am disappointed that I

have to submit this complaint, with very little confidence that this issue will be resolved.Desired Settlement: Because of the time I have invested in resolving this issue, and the lack of attention my request has received, I am requesting a full refund of the 3 registrations, totaling $334.89 CAD. In addition to the refund, I would also gladly accept complimentary registrations for future events.

Review: When at Tough Mudder Whistler 2014 we purchased 3 tickets same day and were given a code for redemption once 2015 events were available. When attempting to process these, only 2 were available. January [redacted] filed a request for someone on Tough Mudder's "support" site to look into this. To date I have had no response, even after follow up posts to get some resolutionDesired Settlement: I would like some response explaining how to fix this issue in a timely manner. I really enjoy Tough Mudder events but this lack of technical support is abysmal.
