I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
[redacted]

We apologize for not responding sooner we were caught off guard by the long holiday weekend.

Far as Mr. [redacted]s concerned we build his carburetors to the specs he provided on his online order form he did not like what we build them and requested that we send them a carburetor with an electric choke them at our cost no charge to him we read build him a carburetor with an electric choke jetted and tuned appropriately for his application that carburetor was damaged in shipping by the US PS since all of our carburetors are FOB Pittsburgh we are not responsible for the damage to the carb. And even though we explained this to the customer we also told him that we would provide him a Nother show At our cost and he could still file a claim with the Postal Service. Not only did he not do that or follow through with our agreement but he filed this Revdex.com complaint that is baseless and without merit. Even so we are still willing to send him the choke cap to finalize this issue.

We can do that provided the original unit is returned.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please see the enclosed email chain, in particular on the 20th they acknowledge receiving my request for carburetor conversion. In thier words sending out to "minions" so they knew full well what they were getting into!  The  email chain shows nothing but excuses from these people! On 09/04 they respond to my obviously upset note by saying my carb would ship saturday the 6th. that was two almost three weeks ago!
the only acceptable outcome for me THE CUSTOMER is for the people at karb king to put my carb back in its ORIGINAL packaging with a usps money order $140.00 and return it to me.  I do not have the confidence that karb king has the ability to rebuild any carb. Just type "karb king" into [redacted] search and look at all the negative feedback from all over the internet!  Upseting one or two people is going to happen however I don't think they ever had a happy customer.

Once again, Karb King did not rebuild nor send back my original Holley 1850 (3444) 4bbl carb.  They sent me junk with missing parts including electric choke. I want my refund.

The customers carb was damaged beyond repair in or prior to shipping. It was more cost effective to replace it with a similar unit than attempt a repair that may not last. We made this clear to the customer via email on at least two occasions with this complaint as a result.
The...

unit provided will function as well or better than the customers original.

For the record, They have made no such attempts to resolve the matter. When I called after the SECOND poorly built, incorrect, wrong sized, and damaged carburetor arrived, no one answered the phone. Several hours after a yes very angry email on my part. They, after accusing me of improper behavior told me to send it back and they would fix it but it was my fault so it may cost more money. It would also cost me more money and time to ship it back. They would do nothing till I sent the so called carburetor back. They never refunded my second shipping as they promised they would, so I had no reason to trust they would for this shipping. This was the ONLY communication they have made with me, besides responding to this complaint. So their "several attempts" claim is false just like all the other statements they have made. When this company makes a mistake they blame the consumer to cover themselves.
They accuse me of having some sort of "agenda" My ONLY agenda was to have a quality Carburetor built for my show truck. What could I possibly gain by taking up an agenda against this company? As it stands now, I had to buy a brand new Carburetor, and with all the losses to "Karb King" I am out over $600.00 for the same thing they promised to me for $195.00 plus S+H. A full refund would be my only resolve to this problem, but they don't do that. I am just glad that I did not send them my original carburetor, as they were only going to credit me $50.00 for it and it is easily worth $200.00. Talk about having an "Agenda"! My advise is to not do carburetor work with a company That spells it with a "K"

All of our carburetors are built to the specs provided by the customer on our online order form. Based on that information it is our tuners discretion to build a carb for the application given. If our tuner believes no choke is required then we will build the carb accordingly especially if the...

customer does not specify whether a joke is necessary or not. In this case no choke system was specified and we built the carb. according to specs.

If the customer would like a choke installed, he can return the carb and we will do just that at no additional cost.

This unit was shipped. As we've stated elsewhere, A death in the ownership of the company brought us significant delays and we are truly sorry for that.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 1[redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I was not able to retain a copy of their order form, I did give them the information about my engine and I did tell them I wanted a carburetor with an electric choke. Not only did the carburetor with out the proper choke setup, but the plate that makes the choke work was missing. The carburetor that they sent me cannot be converted to an electric choke. If you look at the attached photos you can see what parts are missing.
Because I needed to get my car running and I was unable to use the the Karb King product, I had to go out and purchase another carburetor for my car. I tried several times to contact them to avoid this and they would not respond to voicemails or emails.
I would like to return their unit to them and have my money refunded. I could not even try to sell the unit privately as it is missing pieces and I cannot determine if it will function properly.
Thank you for your assistance.

I sent my original carb to be rebuilt. But I did not get back my original carb. In addition, it was missing the electric choke. In other words Krab King broke the contract/agreement by not sending me back my original carb.

So like I said in my first complaint I am waiting on karb king to send me a shipping label I will not send at my cost I have already spent sixty dollars on shipping and nothing usable in return.
As far as this mater being resolved  that is not true . Yes it is true I was sent a carburetor at no additional cost to me. But yet again not even close to being able to work on my pickup .  If it wasn't for karb Kings inability to simply rebuild a carb as there own website states in its process and not loose my carb to begin with . I would have something that would work on my pickup . If they would just refund my money and send me two shipping labels I will send back the junk they have sent . I will be out my original carb and will be taking a financial loss but at least I would have something instead of be out the money and yet no carb that works,

As mentioned in previously, the carbs you sent were UNSERVICEABLE.  My original carb appeared better than the "paper weight" you sent me.  I just want my original carb back that YOU LOST or a full refund.  Don't bother responding if you cannot give me back my original Holley 1850 (3444) that came with my car.
[redacted]

First let's start from the beginning.

The customer said he would send in a working carburetor for a credit against our core charge. Prior to sending it, but once we already pulled our core knowing the order was coming in, the customer then told us he was sending us a...

carburetor in worse condition--in fact, one that wasn't even rebuildable. Now while we are used to getting carburetors in extremely poor condition and having them represented otherwise,  this merely goes to show the mindset (in our opinion) of this customer. That is negotiating a deal and then changing things at the last moment to benefit himself.

That's stated, after he indeed did get a mis-shipped carburetor (completely our fault, due to temporary holiday staff), he then attempted to hold said carburetor as hostage until we sent him another one. After much discussion, he reluctantly agreed to it back, and we agreed to ship his carburetor upon receipt which we did.

After the customer received this carburetor we received an extraordinarily terse, insulting, and basically ridiculous email from him we accusing us of having damaged the carburetor and the box prior to even shipping the unit through the Postal Service. Obviously that is fanatical at best--Karb King takes great pride in building rebuilding and tuning carburetors. To even fantasize that we could take one of our creations and destroy it ourselves is simply whimsical, baseless, and without any merit whatsoever.

We reiterated those words in a variety of ways many times over to the customer, explaining that the damage occurred in shipping. Whether the customer got over his farcical consideration is unclear, as the next thing we received is this complaint. There was some talk about the carburetor, itself, being wrong for his application, however we relied on the information contained in our online order form--provided by him-- to build and tune the unit to spec. Apparently, he entered "383" regarding the cubic inches of the engine, rather than "283" which would produce a completely different sized and tuned carburetor.

After explaining this to the customer he repeatedly called us liars--among other things--and filed this complaint.

We as usual standby our products and services and will state that we are not responsible for the errors one makes on our online order form we use that order form 20+ questions to determine how we are going to build and tune a given unit. If the information provided is wrong or otherwise erroneous it will easily throw a wrench into the works. Glaring errors are easily recognized and met with emails for confirmation to the customer for confirmation. In this case, however, "383" is a widely popular stroker combination and was entirely plausible based on the other information given--and therefore we relied on it without question.

That said, had the customer not made the ridiculous accusations, made such unbelievable insults, and generally acted in a manner wholly untoward a mutually satisfactory outcome, we would gladly take the unit back and tune it for his 100 in.³ smaller engine at no charge.
However, since he persists in such behavior, we stand by our terms and conditions as listed on our website which he agreed to when placing his order. Should the customer want to recant and change his ways regarding our business relationship we may reconsider assisting him as described above.

The customer is in receipt of his unit.We did, indeed, lose the patriarch of the company recently, which both put us behind and in a scheduling/progress quandary which we, thankfully, have finally put behind us. Regardless, we do apologize for the delay in shipping. As for any other...

issues, we point to the Terms and Conditions the customer agreed to upon placing his order, and stand by that contract.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. They did not tell me the carb was damaged, they sent me a carb someone else had sent them as it has what is wrong with it still in the bag it was sent in and it has not been worked on if you want I can bring it to you to look at . I am now wanting my old carb back and my money as they have not done what they said they would do if you wish I can bring in my computer and show you what all they have emailed me.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. They did not rebuild my carburetor as they suggest; they merely sent me another core.  I emailed them stating that I was not happy with the product they sent me and asked for a refund.  They stated that they wished I would have worked with them by putting a negative review on Google.  I have tried to work with them for almost two months.  They do not readily respond to emails or telephone calls.  I understand that they had a death of a partner however, that does not relieve them of their responsibility.  If they are unable to do the work, they should just refund me the money.I have attached all email traffic between us as well as a picture of the carburetor they returned.

As we stated elsewhere a death in the company's ownership not only delayed many orders but reeked havoc with our inventory system resulting in Michigan and's and non-shipments that we are now rectifying. To date we have not received the carb back from the customer so that we may either...

inspect and rebuild and resend or replace it with another.upon receipt of said carburetor we will do one of those two things and get a proper unit back to him.as for anything else we pointed to the terms and conditions the customer agreed to when placing his order located on our webpage
