Review: On April 15, 2014, I shipped my Holley 1850-7 (3444) with electric choke to be rebuilt by Karb King. Along with my carb, I included money order #[redacted] worth $135 plus fees $1.25. (There Craigslist Ad states- turn around time is 2 days rebuild and bench tested) On May 1st, I emailed them to check status. I asked when it will be completed and shipped. Karb King replied, The carb was shipped yesterday. You should have it Saturday. The rebuilt carb arrived but it was the wrong carb (1850-3) and it was missing an electric choke, vacuum plugs. In addition, the carbs exterior appeared to have been sand blasted without being disassembled. When I manually worked the mechanical linkage and butterfly flaps, they felt sandy and granular. It was not smooth at all. I tried to call them but no answer. So I emailed. I told them all I want was my original Holley 1850-7 (3444) rebuilt and tested properly as advertised. I sent them pictures of my carb and pictures of what they sent me. On May 2nd they responded, We totally understand. Will have to talk to [redacted] about the state of your carburetor..Regardless we will check and get back with you ASAP. I waited for them to get back with me but not a peep. On May 5th at 9:39 am, I emailed because I have not heard anything. I asked what I should do with the wrong carb they sent me. I also asked if I can mail it back. No response. On May 7th, I sent another email asking for a response on the following questions:1.What is the status of my Holley 1850-7?2.When should I expect it back?3.Do you want me send back the wrong carb with missing parts now or later?4.Can you email me your shipping address?Still no response; so I called but no answer. On May 8th, I followed up again with another email. By this time, I already knew they were not going to deliver on their promises. I informed them that I will report and file a complaint against them- including CL, Revdex.com, IRS, USPS, DOT. I reiterated that all I want is my original 1850-7 (3444) rebuilt and bench tested for optimum performance (as promised from their Ad). Their response was, Weve only two people handling emails and calls through Monday as well be testing in Norwalk for upcoming Southern Nationals. Regardless, we want you to be satisfied customer and will address and correct the matter. On June 3rd, I emailed to ask what the status is of my Holley 1850-7. They replied, We are awaiting a thermostatic choke cap, as they have been back ordered by our supplier- as soon as it comes in, we will install it and ship your carb.On June 12th, I received Holley 1850-3 carb. But this time the carb looks worse than the one they sent and it was still the wrong carb. The old carb appeared to have been sitting in storage covered with dust and lint. Some parts of the carb assembly were showing rust. The thermostatic choke cap was not new. It was cracked in several places. It had an old torn choke gasket sticking out. It was a Motorcraft with one connection instead of a Holley electric choke which had 2 connections. The choke was not properly installed. The screw on the choke didnt sit in place properly making the choke half cocked. It wasnt flush on the surface. The primary throttle shaft was mangled/bent in different areas. It was missing the throttle stud for the throttle cable and the fuel inlet fitting. The butterfly linkage was bent preventing the butterfly flaps to open and close freely. I sent them pictures for their reference. They advertise all over CL nationwide. Imagine 2-3 carbs per city per week, $135 per unit cash upfront. And they dont even have to rebuild your carb. They just send you someone elses old carb and lots of excuses until you just get tired playing their game.http://[redacted] http://[redacted] http://[redacted] http://[redacted] This from a unhappy customer:http://c[redacted]l In conclusion, I dont know what happened to my original Holley 1850-7 carb. The carbs they sent me were definitely not my Holley 1850-7 (3444). From their appearance, I dont believe the carbs they sent me were ever rebuilt. I believe they swap out incoming carbs with outgoing carbs. They never really rebuild anything. The only thing guaranteed is $135 cash upfront. Youre committed so you are forced to play their game of switch and bait. My car has been sitting idle for 2 months now. Im tired of playing this game. I need Revdex.coms assistance with this matter.Desired Settlement: After multiple failed attempt to rebuild my missing Holley 1850 carb with electric choke, I desire to settle for a refund $136.25 + $24.70 shipping cost total $160.95. I will gladly return the "door stop" they shipped me if they return my original carb. I will definitely not accept store credit.

Response:

The fact that this customer even filed this complaint as well as included what he believed to be important information regarding our sales and marketing techniques is simply ridiculous. This is somebody who threatened us upon receiving a carburetor custom-built to his specs with reporting us to authorities far and wide regardless of his complicity in the matter for baseless claims which are truly without merit and, thus, would constitute filing false reports.

Review: I contacted karb king after finding them on the internet. I worked out a deal to send them a 105$ dollar check and my 750 double pumper to have them build me a correct 750 vacuum secondary carb. After a month of not recieving anything( their web page says 2-3 day turn around) I began contacting them by leaving messages(they never answer during business hours)and emails. Long story short, it got lost in the mail(they never provided a tracking number. After waiting more time and calls, I finally got a call from ** whom told me that they would build me another one out of courtesy and get it sent right out. almost 2 1/2 weeks later it finally showed up. the box was damaged and when I opened it, the throttle linkage was bent to start off with. By the time I got the single inlet carb hooked up(mind you, mine was a dual inlet carb)I had to replumb my fuel line and alter my air filter bottom plate to get it to work. Once I was ready to start it, of course it didnt run right out of the box like their site says. It wouldnt stay running, pumping way to much gas and then it started puiking gas out of the top of it. By this time I had enough. I started this on march 10th or so and this was now end of july. I sent it back to them(in the mean time, bought a brand new holley 770 street avenger carb & it did just what it said, performs right outta the box)and basically told them in a letter that you have one of 2 choices. you can call me and work out a monetary deal(im sure my double pumper is not laying around there) or we can go to court over this fiasco. Haven't heard from anyone phone wise. Sent them an email and they have responded a few times with the last one being that [redacted] or [redacted] would call me. well the last email was that he would call me that day. Its been a week since that one. These people dont care about a customer at all. This is by far the worst thing I have ever dealt with over a product. They are a terrible business to deal with if you can get a response or a phone call.Desired Settlement: I told them in a letter that since you cashed a 105$ dollar check of mine and had a perfectly good running 750 double pumper carb, that I wasnt out of line in asking for 250$ in return(since I had also sent their worthless leaking, unperforming carb back). No response on anything.

Response:

The customer negotiated a significant credit against our usual charges by sending in a used core carburetor that was not in the best shape. We are however very used to getting carbs in poor condition regardless of how the customer describes it.

Review: I sent in a rochester 2g small base dual jet carb #7041185 for a 1971 jeep renegade 2. I sent it in after having talked with their rep **, explaining the issue with my carb. The bore that the pump rides in has scuff marks on the wall causing the carb not to give me a pump shot of fuel. As the carb was there it was to be repaired along with having been cleaned, powder coated gold, flow tested, the base have .020 milled off, complete rebuild of carb, and tuned to be installed no problems and running. What I received was my carb back in worse shape then I had sent it back. The carb had a clear powder coat on it with many runs in it. All metal parts are now rusted, all passage ways for air and fuel are now packed with what I believe to be baking soda from them cleaning it with a soda blaster. The bore is still scuffed up and not able function properly . All I can see that has been done is a poor attempt at powder coating my carb and a few gaskets that were replaced along with the wrong size check ball used in my fuel discharge port. I have spent many hours trying to clean my own carb just so I can take it to a shop to work on it. I have emailed them now 5 times asking to get a remedy to my problem and have received 2 calls back after I sent in detailed photos of the damage to my carb. They tell me each time they will call back and now they will not answer or call back. I'm down a jeep that's costing me money each day it sits. I sent them a money order from USPS serial # [redacted] mailed to karb king llc [redacted] On 2013 sept 9 amount of $135.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to replace my carb with an exact copy of a rochester small base to work on a dauntless 225 oddfire motor as that what I sent them. Their web site says that all work to be guaranteeTo work. I will send them back my core if agreed to do so. They have made my carb look very bad, I have spent hours of my own time after having received it back cleaning it up and removing rust. I have very detail pictures to back up my claim and paper work along with emails if needed. Thanks

Mr. [redacted] was informed that, upon return of the carb in question, we would thoroughly inspect it, and, if necessary, make any repairs to it at our expense. To date, he has no only failed to return the unit, but maintained via email that the matter is over, all while maliciously posting defamatory information about our company on the web.

Review: I ordered a rebuild of a Quadrajet carburetor from [redacted] I mailed payment (via cashier's check) of $230 on 8/15/14 to cover the rebuild fee ($145) and core ($85). I received the carburetor from them on 9/15/14. The carburetor has not been rebuilt properly, if at all. The throttle shaft is loose, causing the throttle plates to stick. The choke pull off does not work. The top of the carburetor looks to have been spray painted to cover up dirt. The vacuum nipple on the choke is broken off. The inside of the carburetor body has corrosion.I emailed [redacted] on 9/17/14 and 9/28/14 asking them to call me to discuss a remedy. I also called them on 9/23/14. I have yet to hear back from them.Desired Settlement: I would like to return this carburetor to them and have a carburetor sent to me that is appropriate for my application and freshly rebuilt.

Review: I sent $140.00 & my carburetor for repair (three day turnaround according to their web page) I have emailed many times and just keep getting empty promises. Three weeks later I just want my carburetor back with a refund. I'm not confident they have the ability to repair it properly.Desired Settlement: As I stated above I don't have the confidence that my carburetor will be repaired properly. I want MY carb back in the original packaging with a full refund.

Response:

The customer did indeed order a carburetor for his boat which we've determined upon receiving was in automotive carburetor that needed significant parts to make it Marine capable. After inspecting the carburetor tearing it down and putting it through our cleaning process we then order the necessary parts to convert this older carburetor for Marine use.

Review: They have had my carb haven't returned it. It was supposed to be 3 day turn around and it's been over 2 weeks. No one answers the phone or calls back when message left. I have sent several emails only one responded to when I threatened to have friend come by. I was then told they would get right back to me on status. Hasn't happened nor any subsequent emails responded too. I have asked for a full refund which I guess won't happen as they take only money orders true scam technique there. They came highly rated now I wish I would have came here to check as it seems since the patriarch passed it has fallen into bad management. Its ridiculous a place like this in todays society can steal like they do and nothing happen to them.Desired Settlement: I want my money back plus shipping and my carb. I am contacting the local authorities and my lawyer.

Review: hi,I contacted Karb King last fall (2013) about a carburetor Rebuild I wanted to have them do.I told them the carb (carburetor) I was sending was missing a choke plate, had a cracked base, and I wanted it changed to Electric choke, from manual choke. I had seen on their website that they offer carb cores (rebuildable used carbs, for 75$. I asked if I should buy a re buildable carb from them, but they told me it would be less expensive if I sent my carb, and bought the missing pieces from them, then pay fro my carb to be rebuilt. The cost was 180$ including rebuild, and parts.130 $ for rebuild, 50$ for parts, (USPS money order # [redacted] ). After they received my carb, they sent me an e mail that said they wanted 25$ for a base, 40$ for a body, and 27$ for a choke cover (I called it a choke plate), or I could buy a core from them for 75$.I e- mailed them back explaining my previous phone call, and they replied that they would honor that, but would be rebuilding a different carb for me.When I got the carb , 11-18-2013 I e mailed them back, there were 5)SERIOUS issues with what they sent me.1)The fuel inlet on my original carb was adjustable but the one they sent me was fixed- impossible for me to hook up fuel line.2)they sent auto choke (depends on exhaust heat) not ELECTRIC choke, cant use.3) No vacuum port on base of carb, cant get vacuum to run vacuum advancecant use.4)Fuel bowl broken (I sent them pictures), cant use.5) rod to choke loose, won't correctly operate choke, cant use.The reply was "it looks like the carb was damaged in shipping" NO comments about the other 4 issues. ( also I didn't comment that the carb was filthy. They told me I needed to go to the post office and fill out form 1000.I went to the post office, and they said It was no longer available, but it had to be done online.I tried to do it online, but my computer had some problem during the process. I am running out of space and have much more to say, please call me ###-###-#### Thanks GodDesired Settlement: The carb has been sent 2x to get re built so far with still mostly same problems.I would like a refund of 305$ ( 180$ po money order # [redacted] + 50$ po money order # 2[redacted] + 50$ for the core of mine they have because the one they sent me is of no use to me.I appreciate the help, there is much more (documented) to say.God (Jesus) Bless, [redacted] ###-###-####

We respond to this very complained several times in the past--we will reiterate what we said during those times:

Review: In march of this year 2014, I filled out an online form for Karb King to send in my carb from my 1986 K5 Blazer, Rochester quadrajet with electric choke to have re built. Karb King sent back a re built carb without a electric choke. In addition it was badly damaged in shipping due to real poor packaging. Karb King told me to file claim with the USPS, I did that but was only repaid for shipping. After several months of attempting to contact Karb King, they finally returned my emails after I said I was going to contact Revdex.com. Karb King said to send back my carb for replacement at no additional cost. Again I paid for shipping and 2 weeks later I received another carb. This one was broken and appears to never have been cleaned or rebuilt and again without electric choke.Desired Settlement: I want a rebuilt/new carb, for 1986 K5 Blazer, 305 motor, electric choke. I want to be repaid for all the shipping costs.

Business

Response:

Carb Kings terms and conditions as listed on our website and agreed to buy everyone placing an order through our website stipulate that all shipments are FOB Pittsburgh that means the carpeting is not liable for the carburetor once it leaves our premises it is the responsibility of the shipper and the recipient to file whatever claims necessary to recoup money from any damages incurred.

Review: I sent my Holly carb to them as required with the money to pay for the carb rebuild they said two days but after three weeks they sent me someones carb not mine and it had not been rebuilt now they will not talk to me and I want my carb and my money backDesired Settlement: I would like my carb back and my money back as well as the shipping cost

Response:

The customers carb was damaged beyond repair in or prior to shipping. It was more cost effective to replace it with a similar unit than attempt a repair that may not last. We made this clear to the customer via email on at least two occasions with this complaint as a result.

Review: They have had my carb for two months. It was supposed to be 3 day turn around. No one answers the phone or calls back when message left. I have sent several emails. Once I got my carb back nothing was done. the carb came back dirty and did not replace the worn out accelerator pump. Looking further into the carburetor nothing was "tear down" "cleaned" "coated" "build" or "tested" . No components where changed, set-up or modified. All components where the same as we sent them. I paid for 8 steps of "services" per the web site and did not receive. The only responded to when I threatened to take them to small claims court. I asked several times to have them send me flow charts from there claim they tested. and never got anything. I have asked for a full refund which I guess won't happen as they take only money orders true scam technique there. Its ridiculous a place like this in todays society can steal like they do and nothing happen to them.

Review: Ordered a rebuilt carb (Holley 4150) from Karb King to be built to my specifications and my car's specifications in 3 to 4 day turn-around. Sent them $170.00 USPS money order and a Quadrajet carb to be used a $50.00 core on 7-15-14. On 7-25-14 I emailed them to find out status of carb. No response until 8-4-14 when they said I should have it by end of week. On 8-11-14 I emailed them and they responded back claiming a parts shortage. On 8-18-14 Karb King promised the carb by end of the week. On 8-26-14 I received a totally incorrect carb (Holley 4160) that was completely busted-up, bent linkage, choke plate flopping around, rusty, dirty and obviously NOT rebuilt. I sent them pictures to prove my point that they sent JUNK! Karb King then claims I told them to send a carb "as is" which is a 100% total lie!! Then they said they would send me parts to fix it. Not possible since it was the wrong type carb to begin with. I continued emails with no response until 9-2-14 when Karb King told me to send the carb back because they now had the proper parts and they would build the proper carb for me as soon as they get this carb back! I sent the carb back that day (9-2-14) and hoped for the best. On 9-6-14 after many promises and emails later I received another incorrect carb that was 10 times worse than the first one they sent. This carb was missing parts that would render the carb useless. Choke horn mechanism hacked off with a grinder, no cam to operate the accelerator pump, throttle mechanism bent over and silver paint sprayed randomly over the built up dirt. Called **,had an interesting conversation about Karb King and was told he would take care of it. I told him that after 3 months of lies and two junkyard carbs being sent to me that I wanted my money and core carb back. He said he would take care of it! After many more unanswered calls and emails I was finally told on 10-15-14 to "relax, their working on it". Never heard back again. So i'm out $170, a core carburetor and shipping costs for two carbs.Desired Settlement: I would like my $170.00 back, my core Quadrajet carburetor that I sent them, and $12.35 to ship back the junk carb they sent me! If they don't wish to ship the core back which had a value of $50.00 towards my rebuild, then I will accept $200.00 back and call it a day!

Review: I sent a postal money order for 145 dollars along with my auto carburetor for rebuild. After several weeks of calling and emailing the company; I received what they described as a "rebuilt carburetor". The carburetor was covered in dirt and grease and had fresh spray paint on it. The adjustment screws were frozen with corrosion and it was clear that the item was not rebuilt. Additionally, it was not the carburetor I had sent them as it had completely different numbers stamped and different linkage attached. After another month of emails and phone calls I talked to [redacted](?) who advised me that they had in fact sent me a "core carburetor" by mistake and that my original one would be fixed and sent to me. At a later date - [redacted] advised me that my carb arrived damaged - which is totally inconsistent with what he had said in prior conversations. I asked for photo documentation of the "damage" and never received anything. As of this date I have not heard back from them and they will not return phone calls or emails.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my 145 dollars and my original carburetor returned to me.

Response:

As we stated elsewhere a death in the company's ownership not only delayed many orders but reeked havoc with our inventory system resulting in Michigan and's and non-shipments that we are now rectifying. To date we have not received the carb back from the customer so that we may either inspect and rebuild and resend or replace it with another.upon receipt of said carburetor we will do one of those two things and get a proper unit back to him.as for anything else we pointed to the terms and conditions the customer agreed to when placing his order located on our webpage

Review: I send a Holley 850 carburetor to Karb King for a rebuild on March 10th of this year, I then followed up on the 13th to make sure they got the carb and they responded they did. I got the carb back a week or so later and it was cleaner, but exhibited the exact same symptoms as when I sent it to them. I have since left several voicemails and emails asking for guidance on troubleshooting, asking if I can return the carb to be repaired correctly, and asking just for a response in general, but have heard nothing at all from Karb King. I really didn't want to have to involve the Revdex.com, but with no communication at all, and no way to dispute the charge since they only accept payment through money order, I feel this is my only option.Desired Settlement: I would just like them to respond and let me send the carb back so they can repair it correctly.

We're happy to discuss the matter with the customer however we have no record of him in our system, nor a record of any emails or phone messages he may have left us.

Review: I had contacted the company, a carburator rebuilding company, asking them for a rebuilt carburator with them providing the core for a Holley spread bore, 650cfm with an electric choke and vaccum secondaries. I sent them a postal money order which is wat they requested for payment for $220.00.When I received the carburator in the mail, it was a carburator with a divorced choke and it was missing the choke plate and some linkage parts. This type of choke will not work on the engine I have nor will it work without the choke plate.I have tried to contact the company by phone and left voice messages a couple of times and I have also sent a couple of e-mails and I have never gotten a response from them. When I originally placed the order I as told I would get an order slip with the details of my carbuator which I did not receive either.Any help would be gratefully appreciated.Desired Settlement: I have since had to purchase another caburator from someplace else so I can get my car running. I would like to see if I can make arrangements to send this one back to them for a refund. I still have the product in the original box that it was shipped in.

Response:

All of our carburetors are built to the specs provided by the customer on our online order form. Based on that information it is our tuners discretion to build a carb for the application given. If our tuner believes no choke is required then we will build the carb accordingly especially if the customer does not specify whether a joke is necessary or not. In this case no choke system was specified and we built the carb. according to specs.

Review: They held my carb for three weeks then sent it back in worse condition than they received it. Its missing pieces. All the pieces they were supposed to replace, werent. They refuse to return any messages or emails. In short I sent them a carburetor that sort of worked, and got it back missing critical parts. It will not work.Desired Settlement: I want a rebuilt, working quadrajet stage 1 or, all my postage, payment, and associated fees (parcel insurance, signed delivery, etc).

Review: I sent an engine manifold and 6 carburetors to this company to be rebuilt back in June of 2014. I also sent them over $1000 for all the work. They switched owners half way through. In February of 2015 I started sending them emails almost daily to send my items back as is. They never did. In June of 2015 the emailed me that they had shipped the items back. They never arrived. They told me it was shipped through an freight company who I called and they had no record of this shippment. The company refused to send me the invoice for the shipping and now has shut off all phones and emails. This product cost me $1500 plus the $1000 I gave them for the work.Desired Settlement: Delivery of order or compensation. Equivalents so I can repurchase similar items

Review: The Karb Kings are only Kings in their own mind. I purchased a Holley 600 from them. When it came, It looked like it was used, It still even had some built up dirt still on the housing. We installed the carb and the car ran really bad. We checked the float adjustments and the primary float was stuck. We ran out of adjustment to try to lower the fuel level. The carb was bleeding over and loading up. I called them and talked with a guy who told me if I still have a problem, I can send it back. I looked at it myself later that day and the carb definitely had a problem. Starting the next day, I tried calling them for over 10 days asking them to please call me back. I had no choice but to buy another carb from a local vendor to take care of our customer. We installed the second carb and it ran great. I proceeded to try to call them with no response. 2 weeks ago, One of the builders answers. He said "is this the guy from [redacted]"? I said yes it is, The guy proceeded to tell me it was our fault the carb didn't run right, That we didn't know how to adjust the float. I am a master tech with over 30 years experience. I certainly know how to adjust a Holley carb. The guy from King Karb said his attitude was bad because he didn't have any customer service phone skills. What is that?????? He said I need to talk to the manager that wasn't in at the time. We hung up and again I called leaving messages. They must have caller ID and have a good laugh when they see my number come up. But, 2 days ago someone answered and some guy said that **, the owners son would be back in 10 minutes and he would call ....... 2 days and 6 messages by me and still no call. I sent them the carb back, thinking that if I was going to get a refund, they needed the carb back. I sent it to the address on the website. It came back to me today saying NO SUCH ADDRESS..... What kind of fraud is that... No wonder they only take money orders for payment... That should of been a red flag.. Warning... Stay Away from this company..... I have to sue for the money I guess..Desired Settlement: I just want my money back at this point..........

Review: I entrusted "Karb King" with building me a carburetor for my Classic show truck. After several attempts to reach them by phone. No messages returned. I contacted by email. They assured me they could build exactly what I needed. I needed a much smaller carb. so I sent them a "core" carburetor and a Postal Money order for $195.00 Their web site guarantees a tested and ready to run carb. right out of the box. When my carb came 1 week later.I opened the box and instantly thought I was intentionally ripped off with no recourse since they were paid in advance. The Carb was not the right model, nor was it rebuilt. It was someone else's core I later found out. Again, no answers to repeated phone calls, just a very vague email, saying it must be a mistake and someone would " be in touch" It was the Thursday before Easter weekend, so they informed me they were closed. I did not hear from them until the Tuesday night after the weekend. "**" Found the whole thing laughable. Never apologizing, he informed me I had to ship back that core before he would ship my carb. I was very much against trusting them blindly again, let alone spend more money shipping this part back. [redacted] insisted it was the only way I would get what I paid for. He also assured me he would refund the shipping. He said 2 days after he got the core I would get mine and not be out anything else. He received the core from me on Fri.25th.of April. Got my "carb" back yesterday May 5th in a box clearly marked by the Post office that it was damaged when received. Inside the carb linkage had major damage, it again was not the right model, was missing parts, was painted to make it look clean, internally it had the wrong parts for the application, had dirt and grit inside, and was completely non-functional( float needles stuck closed). Their website says "bolt it on and go" this even if it would run on the vehicle, I would be risking serious engine damage.Desired Settlement: I checked refund because that would be the only proper resolve. However I already know that they won't do this. I have read the other complaints here, unfortunately after the fact. My mistake. Even if they said they would refund my money they would want me to return the carb first and there is no way I would trust them for that as they told me they would refund my shipping for their mistake in the first place and I never got that. Total money I am out $195.00, $24.70 in shipping, plus my time!

First let's start from the beginning.

Review: I placed a order to have my carburetor rebuilt by this company starting in late October 2013. The first time I received it back it was not redone correctly. I contacted them again and they said send it back and they would rebuild it again. After waiting for almost another month I received it again. This time was no better, the carburetor has never been cleaned or any parts replaced. Also the carburetor had some damage to the outside parts. So this time I decided to look inside the carburetor and found some of the internal parts missing. So I contacted them again and they said it can't be missing anything and it was supposed to be all cleaned and should not have any damage. I sent them pictures of the carburetor and told them to refund my money if that is the time of work you do. They said they would rebuild another carburetor and send it to me for there mistake. After another 3 weeks I received another carburetor just as bad as mine. Also the carburetor he sent me was not for my year car and would not work. After spending close to 190.00 dollars for the rebuilding fee of the carburetor and shipping I don't know what to do.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of 190.00 dollars for the rebuid and my shipping fees

Response:

Karb King respectfully states that the customer's initial carburetor was missing substantial hard parts both externally and internally, and was not a "rebuildable" carb by our definition. We did, however, supply a kore at reduced cost, rebuilt and tuned said unit, and shipped it. Based on ten customers response, we believe the unit was damaged in shipping, though the customer stated that the kore did not match his application. We were under the impression that the kore we sent did match based on the info contained in the online order form.

Review: I filled out my application for Karb King to build/rebuild me a carburetor per specs for my car. I payed their flat fee upfront (my mistake) and handed them a rebuildable core for use at an $85 to them. After 4 business days their driver dropped off a used filthy carb that someone sprayed down with oil to look better. I called, they said it was a mistake and I received someone else's core(as I'm now reading on reviews happens quite often). Then after getting two completely different stories as to where and at what stage my carburetor was in by two different people, I was told that my carb was already out for delivery miles away from their business. When it wasnt even built or tested just a few hours ago according to the same person and still wasnt built or tested yet at that time according to the other gentleman I spoke with. So, after talking on the phone with a very hot tempered man with horrible customer service skills making it sound like it was job to return their mis-delivery and pick up my carb that day on my schedule when they offer free pick up and delivery. I finally give in and agree to meet and fix the mess that was created. We met and swapped carbs, and I received in a bag what appeared to be a clean carb this time. But, when I get home and gave it a closer inspection, It too still has mud in the crevices, and is filled with old carbon and SAND. It appears they took a complete and assembled carb and sandblasted it in it's entirety and handed it over. The gold colored vaccum bladder shows discoloration where it looks like they shot it with the blashter, the whole carb is gritty with a sandy substance, inside the body of the carb is a thin film of carbon yet, and when I blew on the fuel line a fountain of dirt, sand, rust came flying out. Carbs need to be white glove worthy in order to work. The carburetor I recieved is far from sub-par, and these people are taking peoples money and running with it. They do not show any knowledge or care in their service or product with what I received.Desired Settlement: I would like my full payment of $135 refunded to me and my core carb if it wasnt handed off to some other unfortunate customer yet. If my core can not be returned I will accept their $85 value placed upon it on top of the flat rate $135 I payed for a total of $220.
