Review: Hello,

This issue is going back to Jan 2014, on that month me and my wife was suppose to travel to Israel using Turkish Airlines.

few days before the boarding time, my wife got sick and admitted to the hospital and stay for 3 weeks there.

Turkish airlines charge us $135 ($270 Total) each to re scadual the flight to September 2014.

at that time we file a complaint with the Revdex.com, and 1 month later someone call me and notify me that they going to send the refund checks, and I did received it back about 2 weeks later.

during the whole last year my wife was sick and had few surgeries, at least 2 times she was in life threat situations.

one of this time was at the end of may, she had an emergency surgery and the doctor advise us that she wont be able to travel to further notice.

again I called Turkish Airlines and ask to delay our trip in few months ( Turkish Airlines wont refund flight tickets for ANY reason)

They advise me that I need to pay again the $135 for each person (total $270) and not matter what I try to explain wont change their decision.

so I had to pay it again, been afraid to loose the tickets value. on top of additional cost for changing the date to March 2015 (witch suppose to be chipper!)

I been told to try to send them the doctor paperwork but I been denied refund 2 times this way.

currently my wife is over her Health issues and is healthy after numerous surgeries.

so here we go again,I am filing this complaint again hoping it will do the work as it did the first time.Desired Settlement: I like to get the $135 fee we pay for each person total of $270

Thanks

Review: I took the turkish airlines to travel back to [redacted] for my trip. Upon my arrival to [redacted], my luggages was delayed for 7 days.

Lost and found office of Turkish airlines told me to claim for compensation . And I did the claim and email to turkish airlines in [redacted]. They told me to contact with the office in [redacted]. I contacted them but I have no response from them. On top of that, my luggages got damages because of the delay . Once , they told me to estimate the cost of the luggages so they can provide the reimbursement. But when I tried to contact them to check my file they didn,t respond to me. Their unprofessional service made my luggages damaged and put me in uncomfortable circumstance because my medication was stuck with my luggages. I had to stay without my medication for a week . I attempted to contact them buy phone so many times buy they could not deliver my luggages. I want them to provide me the reimbursement for my loss.Desired Settlement: $850 including the cost of my 2 luggage damaged

Review: I CALLED Turkish AIRLINE TO INQUIRE ABOUT PURCHASE OF AN ECONOMY ROUND TRIP FLIGHT OVERSEAS ON LINE AND THEN UPGRADING IT TO BUSINESS CLASS OVER THE PHONE. THE FIRST GENTLEMAN I TALKED TO TOLD ME THAT EACH LEG OF THE ROUND TRIP FLIGHT WOULD COST ME "BETWEEN $1000 TO $1200". I PURCHASED THE ECONOMY TICKET FOR $1029. I CALLED THEM TO UPGRADE IT, BUT THIS TIME THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD COST ME 10000 TURKISH lIRA, OR $4382! I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE VERBAL QUOTE I HAD RECEIVED BUT THEY WOULD NOT HONOR IT. I THEN ASKED THEM TO CANCEL THE TICKET, TO ALLOW ME TO PURCHASE A BUSINESS TICKET ON LINE. I WAS TOLD THAT I HAD PURCHASED A NON REFUNDABLE TICKET AND THEY WOULD NOT REFUND ME. THEY CLAIMED THAT THE WEB SITE SHOWS A CLEAR MESSAGE ABOUT THE TICKET BEING NON REFUNDABLE. I DID NOT SEE SUCH A MESSAGE AND THE PAGES I HAVE PRINTED DO NOT SHOW ANY. THEIR EMAIL CONFIRMATION OF THE PURCHASE DOES NOT SHOW IT EITHER. CLICKING ON A LINK THAT SUPPOSEDLY EXPLAINS FARE ISSUES BRINGS A BLANK PAGE.Desired Settlement: THE FULL AMOUNT PAID $1,029.20

Review: Last june I flew with Turkish airlines to what it was supposed to be from [redacted] to [redacted] via [redacted]. The flight from [redacted] to [redacted] was good . I checked my 2 luggages and was told from [redacted] that I di not have to do anything in [redacted] other than picked up my luggages in [redacted] upon arrival, I was also given a second leg ticket from [redacted] to [redacted] with a flight number , time and gate so I was set to board. I arrived very early in the morning and my flight was early afternoon. So I waited until it was close to boarding time, I saw my flight number come up on the screen (it did not say boarding now) and then withing 5 minutes it was not listed anymore. I went to see the desk person and was told that I missed my flight . So I said to her that it was too early even for boarding but she insisted and when I asked if I could be placed on the next flight to [redacted] since I was attending a weeding and a family member was waiting for me that I could not contact. She told me to see the next person and so on. I spent the next 4 hrs speaking with about 20 customer services and missed at list 3 flights and I met other people that were on my flight and the same thing happend to them. Noone wanted to help the 16 people in line including a lady with a sick child . There were 5 people 3 at lunch 1 on [redacted] and 1 on [redacted] (we all could see their computer screen) When asked to speak with a supervisor one of the lady said that she was one and could not help me. So I asked them if my luggages were on the plane and I was told that thy had them. So I tried to purchase a ticket to [redacted] and I was told that it was the last flight for the day and I could not make buy it since I did not have the luggaes with me and they could not load them on time. So I was forced to buy a ticket to [redacted] (and was told that my luggages would be on the plain since it did not leave until late at night) and take the train to my city. Well the flight left little over an hour late (with no notice from Turkish Airlines) when I got to [redacted] not only my luggages did not make it but I also missed my last train, so I slept at the airport until the following morning when I was able to purchase a transfer and a 2 train tickets. I barely had time to go shopping for the wedding items. I was told upon arrival oin [redacted] that the luggages were still in [redacted] and they were going to sent it to [redacted] airport so I could pick it up and then continue my jurney. When I got to [redacted] the Turkish air rep told me that I she did not have the luggage to check with [redacted] since they used the next available flight to [redacted]. When I went to the other terminal they did have my luggages but I could not pick it up since turkish air did not provide me with a relese form for me to give to [redacted] not they were available to pick it up on my behalf (we called and no one was at the office) . I had a flight to catch so I when on my trip with no luggage and had to buy all the items needed and finally received my luggage a week after arriving back in the states. I have contacted Turkish air but they are telling me that there was no flight at the time that I provided and I chose to change my flight. I really need help, please advise. ThanksDesired Settlement: What I would like Turkish air for me is to compensate me for the broken contract- Such as reimburse me for the flight that I was force to buy out of my pocket +transfer from [redacted] Airport to train station +2 train tickets + had to purchase all my personal & clothing items (including a luggage for my 2 weeks with no luggages).

Review: I was a passenger on TK34 From Houston to Istanbul on Jan [redacted] 2016, there was a bomb threat on the flight and it was diverted to Shannon, thats when the pain started. Flight crew was rude during the entire security check procedure, I was travelling with a 21 Month old kid and we were already stressed out with the situation, to make matter worse Flight crew was equally rude during the whole process of checking on the items.

We finally managed to land in Shanon, there was no support from Turkish Airlines Crew to guide us on next steps and we were all left hanging for 10 hours in Shannon Ireland, finally we were boarded on the same flight back to Istanbul, ofcourse we missed our connecting flight to Istanbul. The Ground Crew was supposed to help us out to make it easier, but not only they failed in informing us the complete process and required [redacted] Step (which caused us to stand in the Passport Control Line twice for 20 min) also was not very helpful in giving us any other option to help reach our destination any sooner.

After paying for [redacted] out of pocket to get a Hotel Accomodation, which was in the city. We were at the hotel desk, where in we waited for another hour to be called for a bus transfer to our hotel, which to make things worst was 40 Min from the airport and not one of the closer one's to the airport.

We finally reached hotel with our 21 Months Old Kid who went thru equal amount of Stress with all the in-efficiency and were given a connecting next day 18 hours after we landed in Istanbul.

We made it to airport and managed to complete our On-ward journey where in we missed a complete day.

For our return Trip, once I reached Istanbul, I wanted to figure out the compensation and how to address expenses incurred for my on-ward trip, I was sent from Customer Service Desk , to Denied Boarding Desk to Booking office Desk and none of them were of any help and could not share any information and were being in-considerate and rude as if I was committing a crime for asking question on how to get my expenses incurred due to the situation above.

Hope you take matters a little seriously , compensate me for the un-necessary expenses and inconvenience incurred and look into improving your service.Desired Settlement: I have incurred losses of about 300$/Per Person and $105 for [redacted] Charges and loss of time and a really bad experience. I am looking on having this compensated.

Do Note, I have submitted 2 Complaints Already : [redacted] && [redacted] , its been over 4 weeks since my travel date and have not received a resolution.

Review: Hello,

Me and my wife purchase a flight tickets to Israel back on 11/2013 with [redacted], the trip was suppose to start on 1/**/2014.

unfortunately my wife got sick and admitted to an hospital with serious condition, and we know that we will not be able to make it for the flight.

I tried to call [redacted] in order to get a refund or delay the date of the departure and I been told that Turkish airlines wont refund the payment and our only option is to delay the flight to up to a year, but we must inform the new dates before our original flight time or we will forfeit the tickets.

we try to call Turkish airlines and we been told that we have to call [redacted] and they cant do anything to help us.

we found out that Turkish airlines will charge $135 per person as reschedule fee, no matter what is the reason for the change in flight.

we also found out that any other flight we want to take on a later date is extra charge - no matter what date we chose and even on dates that suppose to be really chip!!

on 1/**/14 we change the ticket to fly on 9/**/14 and we pay about $680 additional (including the $270 fee)

we was under the impression that we will loose the whole ticket value if we wont pay the fee and reschedule our trip.

we fell like that the $270 that we pay as result of my wife condition is unfair, and together with the pressure not to lose the tickets value, it was very frustrating

[redacted] stated that they wave their fee($60) and the whole extra payment is going to Turkish airlines, so we decide to file complaint against Turkish airlines for not helping us out with this situation.Desired Settlement: we just want partial refund.

we pay extra $680 as result of this situation.

we wold like to get refund of the fee of $270 that we feel that Turkish airlines wrongly charge us.

we think that Turkish airlines should be more understanding with those kind of situations

we been told that most airlines companies will refund the tickets with written latter from the hospital

Review: I got an email from Turkish airlines that there is a change in my flight.

OPERATED BY [redacted]

F[redacted]

After that they didnt respond to my email, customer service didnt pick the phone. I contacted there online support customer care but no response.

I even emailed back to the person who emailed me but even he is not responding.Desired Settlement: The timing they are giving me I will be in office. If I have to take a day off I will loose my earning. They need to reschedule to the original booking time.

Review: I had around 3,200 miles on my Mile & Smile account. approximately 21,000 miles were going to expired on 12/**/2013. I made a reservation for a flight ticket to San Francisco, using around 30,000 miles on my account on 12/**/2013 night. the customer representative advice me to pick up the ticket in JFK airport Turkish Airline Sales Office/ Counter before 11 pm New York Standard Eastern Time, closing time to utilize my bonus miles, pay for the airport tax, and pick up the bonus ticket, which avoid the miles being expired. however, when I got there at 7pm on 12/**/2013. the sales representative of Turkish Airline tried to issue me the ticket with the applicable tax; she told me to come back around 1o-15 mins as she is not familiar with the system. then, I went back, another sales associate tried to reissue me the ticket, while she tried to issue me the ticket, the system said my mileage expires!!!!! I couldn't get my ticket. Then, I called the turkish airline hotline for help, the sales respresentative on the phone stated that, ' my miles expired in Turkish time 12 am 1/*/2014. ' I filed a complaint to Turkish Airline customer relations on 1/*/2014, however, they never responded. I was never told that the mileage would expired at 12 am 1/*/2014 Turkish times, instead of Eastern Standard Times, while I was booking the ticket. I have already told the customer associate on the phone on 12/**/2013, that I live in NYC, while he told me to pick up the ticket at JFK airport, he fully awared I live in New York, not Turkey.Desired Settlement: I want the same ticket which I was supposed to pick up at the airport on 12/**/2013 back. I will pay the applicable $20 - $30 airport tax. or all the mileages back.

Review: On December **, 2015, I was denied boarding onto Turkish Airlines Flight 12 (JFK to IST, IST to TLV) because I was told that my passport had to be valid for six months after the date of my arrival in Israel. The ticketing agent told me that this was a government policy. I proceeded to consult the Embassy of Israel, whose website clearly states that the United States is among the countries with which Israel has visa exemption agreements, and the U.S. Department of State, whose website advises that “for non-dual nationals, an onward or return ticket and proof of sufficient funds are required for entry […] the Israeli government DOES NOT require that a passport be valid for six months from the date of entry.” I informed the Turkish Airlines ticketing agent at JFK of what I had discovered, and was told that the policy regarding passport validity was in fact an internal Turkish Airlines policy, not a government policy. I spoke with three different Turkish Airlines customer service agents (Aman S**, Jacob S[redacted], and one agent who hung up on me before I could get his name), who insisted that this policy was clearly advertised but were ultimately unable to direct me to it anywhere online. The policy is not outlined on the ticket I purchased, it is not available anywhere on the Turkish Airlines website, and it is not discoverable even after extensive online searching. Turkish Airlines refuses to refund the cost of my ticket, $783.00, and also refuses to credit this amount to a future flight. Because of the fact that I was denied boarding, I will have to forego a trip I spent months planning and miss the wedding of my best friend. Airlines are certainly entitled to design regulations regarding appropriate travel documents, but if these policies are not clearly conveyed to customers, and are in fact hidden from customers even after repeated requests to see them, then this behavior on the part of the airline amounts to silent fraud. I currently have no recourse with respect to this incident, and will have to absorb the cost of the tickets myself.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the cost of my tickets ($738.00) as well as a credit to compensate for the cost of my missed trip.

Review: Dear Sir/Madam,

We travelled by TK [redacted] from JFK TO ISTANBUL and then TK [redacted] Istanbul to Dusseldorf on April [redacted] (this is a ten day vacation plan with a group , reservation # [redacted] ([redacted] ) and [redacted] , [redacted] AND [redacted] )

Flight started 2 hours late from JFK, and then when we reached Istanbul we lost the connecting flight to Düsseldorf. I was thinking, since its same airlines for connecting flight they will wait, but that did not happen. We ended up waiting for 3 more hours. Since I had two boys, I stood in the line for 45 minutes to request lounge access for an hour, but they said NO and they said they can give me a voucher, but computer was not working. I waited for 15 minutes and boys were crying and I did not take any voucher.

When we landed in Düsseldorf, we came to know that one of my main luggage was missing. I was mad at myself, because all my wife clothes r make up kit, my shoes and boys jackets were in that bag and couple of gifts to people whom we were going to meet in Düsseldorf and Paris.

When I approached lost and found I came to know that, they’re not sure where my baggage was!!!!! I was shocked, but latter in the day I came to know that it is at JFK itself ( I came 3 hours ahead to JFK and checked on time, and I did not check last minute) .

We had requested some travel agent to pick us up and I ended up paying more, because of lost baggage process and flight delay. We went as a group with two more families and I made them wait for us for 2 to 3 hours in the airport.

I visited Turkish airlines customer service and explained my plan in detail, that I will be in Düsseldorf one night only and then in Brussels and then in Paris. They offered me $40 voucher per day and I was least bothered about it, because most of my wife luggage was missing i.e clothes and her make up kit and her personal things she was mad and cranky, my vacation started bad

I planned for 3 to 4 years and saved $ 10000 dollars for the trip, because I couldn't afford that much onetime.

I started tracking package daily and told them, I will not be in Düsseldorf, please bring it to Belgium, but they ended up bringing it to Düsseldorf and they said they cannot deliver to me in Belgium. I asked them to hold it, because I don't have any choice. At last I picked up my bag on 5th day!! And they agreed that they messed up and they can give me $ 40 voucher per day and I politely refused it.

It was so cold in Paris and Belgium (around 8 to 10 degrees in some days ) and I ended up walking with my sandals and boys were walking without proper jacket and my wife was wearing same clothes for couple of days. Due to Easter break lot off shops were closed, I should I have shopped first day, but we were tired after 5 hour flight delays and waited for 2 hours for lost luggage process and I was confident that I will have it next day, because I heard lot of good things about Turkish airlines and customer service. Yes, I agree that customer service was great in the flight, but in the airport we weren't happy.

If I go for shopping, I will miss my vacation and I am with a group and I can’t make them wait for me. Next two days, because of Easter break and bank holiday lot of shops were closed.

I want to know why it happened and who is going to pay for all this mess and it is going to take months to convince my wife, because I didn't let her shop on the first day, because I was hoping I will get it next day and we did not get it and next two days due to Easter break and Bank holidays no shops and I was in deep trouble.

Safer side I had insurance coverage (I paid $260) and I claimed some expenses up to $500. Since I claimed my expenses, I cannot claim second time and I am not going to do it.

Since my vacation was a mess, Turkish airlines should take 100% responsibility and give me a small vacation package or pay 50% of our travel expense. I planned for couple of years and you guys made my life miserable in a second.

Thanks

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Compensate with a small vacation package or giv back 50% of my travel expense.

Review: I booked round trip tickets on Turkish airlines from TLV-JFK. The trip was several months long, and the first leg of the journey was uneventful. However, as the final segment grew nearer, a war broke out in Israel, and as a result flights were cut between IST and TLV. Our flight was changed to one that did not work out for us. I contacted the airline, and enumerated several reasons why it did not work for me, as well as several potential solutions that would be agreeable. I was denied on all of the options I provided, but they instead offered to refund half of the ticket purchase price ($800). I agreed to this, and provided the credit card details in order for the refund to be processed. However, the airline then stopped corresponding with me, and never refunded the money. I have the emails to prove that the airline agreed to refund the money. I attempted to dispute the amount with the credit card company, but they did not find in my favor as it was indeed a valid charge.Desired Settlement: The business should keep their word and refund me the $800 that they promised. I would also appreciate compensation for the the hours and hours that this has consumed over the past few months.

Review: My family (three people) traveled by Turkish Airlines round trip from Houston to Venice (Italy) on June [redacted] to July [redacted]. Because Turkish Airline is the Star Alliance with United Airline so we submitted mileage credit request through United Airline. However only the back trip mileage was honored but the outbound trip mileage was rejected. I was told by United Airline that Turkish Airline denied the mileage credit request because the ticket was booked as "P" class. When I show them the boarding pass with "Y" class which is eligible for the mileage credit and I book the round trip on the same itinerary , Turkish Airline response that sometimes the real booking class may different with the one printed out. In that case, why they issued the boarding pass with wrong information? If you tell the customer it is Y class you must honor it.Desired Settlement: Turkish Airline should credit our mileage back to our Mileage Plus Account.

Review: Treatment and delay received from Turkish Airlines on June *, 2014.

Electronic Ticket Number [redacted] Flight TK [redacted], KSA to Istanbul, Turkey and additional flight to JFK TK 003

The flight was 19-hours departing [redacted], KSA due to airplane mechanical problems. After repeated complaints I was allowed to stay in a hotel in downtown [redacted]. I had to pay for taxi fares myself. My personal briefcase was lost by a Turkish Airline employee and I finally found the briefcase behind a Turkish Airline counter. Flight 141 eventually caused my Flight to JFK [redacted] to be cancelled and had to reschedule 24-hours later on the following day. Turkish Airline employees were extremely rude in Istanbul and would NOT try to schedule me on a different airline.

These delays cause me to miss an important business meeting in Florida and an even more important personal engagement in Florida.

In 48-years of flying I have never been treated in the manner that I was treated in [redacted] and Istanbul.

Kind Regards

[redacted], [redacted] ###-###-#### [redacted]Desired Settlement: Total refund of price of ticket........$1687.50 and any additional allowance per the Montreal Agreement of 1999.

Review: On July * 2013( 12.05 AM) I flew from Ny to Istanbu(Turkey)l.Even though I got my tickets 6 months ago for myself and my two kids who are ages 8 and 4 I found out that my sits sold to someone else and I did not know that.By the time I was at the plane I saw the tickets that are different then it suppose to be.Three different sits for us.My kids started to cry because they did not wanted to be apart from me and I could not have accepted that since I got the tickets 6 months ago and my kids are small how can they ask me such thing .I was really upset and crying too.People were looking at us and really embrasing moment it was for me.One man who was handling sits arrangements was rude to me saying that either I had to sit wherever they showed to me or I had to leave the plane for the following fly.I have written my complaint but they ignored me.One more thing I have waited at the check in process more than 2 hours because of that as well. The guy who was doing the checking saw on the computer that my sits were not available for me and that is why I have waited that long and was the last one who aboard the plane.

Review: I originally booked a ticket with Turkish airlines to travel from Nashville, TN to Cairo, Egypt. After the political unrest that started on mid August I called priceline.com to postpone my tickets. they both (Turish Airlines and Priceline.com) agreed on postponing the tickets without penalty charged. After I was ready to book my open ticket, Turkish airlines refused to waive the penalty of rebooking the tickets. This $137 per ticket were charged to me from Turkish airlines and priceline.com. Turkish airlines also had very rude and mean personnel working for them, they would put me on hold for minutes and minutes without even telling me. One of the representatives raised his voice on me while talking. I left several voicemails to different people to resolve my issue and no one returned my call. I even called several times and spoke to different people, no one would help me, they kept saying call the agency and they couldn't verify my credit or not and couldn't even do the rebooking for me.Desired Settlement: The only thing I want is to refund me this penalty that they origianlly promised to waive. This penalty is $137 per ticket and I have 2 tickets with them. I do not need anything extra.

Review: My wife and two young daughters flew from Baku Azerbaijan to Chicago with a layover in Istanbul. Flight TK 336 and TK 5. Ticket number: [redacted]

The first leg of the trip was delayed 5 hours. When she arrived at Istanbul, she made it to the gate just in time with the plane still sitting there. However, the turkish airlines staff refused her yet the plane sat there for another hour.

Turkish airlines was reluctant to give her any information and then after making her and my two young children wait for 5 additional hours, they agreed to arrange for a flight the next day. They also arranged for a hotel but refused to pay for the 24 hr visas costing my wife $90 USD. When my wife arrived at the hotel, she was kindly given a hotel room with two single beds for three people. The airlines did not provide her or my children with any support for procuring toiletries or laundry services. My wis had to wash their clothes in the sink using hair shampoo. She had to walk to a local supermarket to buy toiletries. Turkish Airlines agree to pay for dinner but refused to pay for breakfast.

The next day, my wife and children boarded the plane but the plane was a couple hours late departing because they were waiting for transfer passengers. Why couldn't they have just let them board the plane the day prior?

When they landed in Chicago, my wife realized her luggage was not on board. She spent three hours talking with a Turkish Airline representative who told her there was very little they could do for. If the luggage is found they will forward them to her. They said if they cannot find the luggage then they were sorry, nothing more they can do for her.Desired Settlement: The delay in the flight and missing the connection flight was no fault of my family and to expect them to pay anything out of pocket is unreasonable. I would like Turkish airlines to first, find the luggage and deliver them promptly. Second, I would like Turkish Airlines to reimburse her for the $90 USD for the cost of visas. Third, I would like Turkish Airlines to reimburse her for her out of pocket expenses to include the cost of breakfast at the hotel and for toiletries she had to procure.

Review: I bought a ticket that would be connecting my dad from Frankfurt Germany to Istanbul Turkey. His first flight was overbooked so he was not able to get on from Newark Nj via United Airlines. I tried contacting Turkish Airlines call center, which states that it is open 24 hours a day, but every half hour I get a woman asking me what I need help with. When I tell her I need to change my reservation she says she will transfer me to sales. Another 30 minutes later I get the same woman who keeps saying the same thing that she will transfer me to sales. Finally I decided that if I got her again I would ask to speak to her manager. One hour goes by and I finally had to give up. TUrkish Airines had won. They successfully hustled $200 out of me. I felt robbed. I felt ashamed to say that my heritage is also that of Turkish decent. I could not even get a chance to speak to somebody to try and either get a refund or to change it to a later date. My dad ended up having to pay an extremely high price from a local ticket broker. I am extremely frustrated. This complaint will go to Turkish Airines directly, the Revdex.com, and to every other turkish person and non-turkish person I know. I work in the airport for an american airline and my feedback wil echo throughout the airline industry. My dad's confirmation code is [redacted] and the ticket number is [redacted] and was scheduled for 7/*/2014.Desired Settlement: Refund.

Review: I and my girlfriend have multi city tickets from New Delhi, India to Boston, Ma to Tel Aviv, Israel. We decided that we needed to fly earlier than our original ticket. We tried to change our flight with Turkish Airlines and realized it would cost us an additional $2000. We decided to buy a one way ticket and then would continue from Boston on our originally purchased ticket. After buying another ticket and flying to America we were then told that our ticket from Boston to Tel Aviv would be canceled because we are not flying on the first leg of the journey. We now have 2 $894.48 tickets that are going to be canceled for no reason.Desired Settlement: I would like either a refund of our money or credit at Turkish Airlines.

Review: Hello,

A month ago I was diagnosed with [redacted] and was hospitalized for four days due to extremely [redacted].

I have purchased a ticket with Turkish Airlines to go see my sister in Germany (who is also [redacted] and then fly from Germany to home country Greece.

Well, due to my high and extremely lows I called and asked the airlines to change my ticket from Boston - Istanbul, Istanbul Stuttgart to Boston Istanbul. Istanbul - Thessaloniki. They told me that I cannot change my flight to Greece because it was a promotional ticket.

So basically, the airline would rather their passenger to drop dead before they can accommodate any medical conditions. In my new condition I cannot travel around Europe, all I asked was to change the fligh from Istanbul to Thessaloniki so I can skip Germany for now.

I have never seen such a bad customer service, there is absolutely no compassion with these people.Desired Settlement: I just need to change my flight to Thessaloniki from Istanbul. I am not paying them additional 900 dollars for the difference in new ticket.

My family left from US to Istanbul (Turkey) and then to Egypt on May **, 2015. I followed the same route after one month and half later. However we both have the same scheduled itinerary for the return trip from Egypt on Aug *, 2015 to Istanbul (then lay over for 6 days in Istanbul) and leave on Aug ** to US.

Our original itinerary is as follow: (complete itinerary is available)

Leaving: Fort Lauderdale FL to NY (thru Jet Blue) then take Turkish Airline flights to Istanbul then to Alexandria-Egypt

Return: We should have taken Turkish Airline flights from Alexandria-Egypt to Istanbul (lay over 6 days) then from Istanbul to Boston and then to Fort Lauderdale, FL (using Jet Blue).

All these domestic flights with Jet Blue were part of the Tickets issued by Turkish airline.

Below are the original Ticket numbers issued by Turkish AirlineK in USA

During our return flight from Istanbul on Aug **, 2015 to US (Boston):

? We have reached to the check in counter about 90 minutes before the flight scheduled time. We have waited on line to check in and get the boarding passes. We have seen also many people who arrived after us and waited in line after us.

? Our passports were registered about 12:20 pm on Aug **, 2015; the flight time was 1:25 pm.

? I have 8 luggage and one baby stroller to check in. After we all checked in and I got our boarding passes, Turkish airline attendant told me to drop the stroller (After he put the tag on it) to another place in the airport which took me another 10 minutes.

? When I came back it was about 45 minutes before flight time. I took my family and went straight to the passport control then the security, which took us some due to the line. Also I need to mention that the flight gate was number [redacted] and it is very far from the security check point. We were running to make it to the gate on time, but you can imagine with two kids and infant. I tried to seek some help during my journey from the security check to the gate but I found it is more wasting time as no one was paying attention to what I am saying, may be because they didn’t understand me.

? I believe we make it to the gate about 17 minutes before the flight time. I have been chocked when they told me that they close the airplane door two minutes ago. I have explained everything but the Turkish Airline attendant at the gate told me that we close the gate 20 minutes prior to the flight for security reason and no way to reopen. I have mentioned that “I hear all the time that airline calling people who already checked in when they don't make to the flight, since they are in the airport and already have the boarding passes Especially, we are family of 5 and you know we are on the way or around the corner try to make it to the gate. As a matter of fact I just heard two announcements calling people for other flights”. However the answer was chocking as well as, she told me “we don't have to call anyone sir" and continued “there is no point to argue please go to gate 215 and ask the attendant at this counter to change your tickets to the next flight tomorrow”.

? I left my family at gate 503 and went to gate 215 then they told me that they couldn't change the ticket as this not consider being transfer since I spent few days in Istanbul. The attendant at gate 215 told me that I have to go to the Turkish airline ticket sales office.

? after almost one hour searching on the ticket sales office, as every one give me different direction, I finally realized it is out of the international area which mean I have to exist to the airport again with the whole family.

? After we went out of the international area with help of the Turkish airline worker (took us through passport control). The big surprise I found at the sales ticket is I have to pay $3970 to get the same flight next day because they told me it is my fault. However I got to know from the attendant that the gate should close not more than 15 minutes before the flight time as this is indicated on the bottom of the boarding passes (copy is available). I have explained that according to the boarding pass I am not at fault as we were about 17 minute prior to the flight but they close the door 20 minutes before. They told me we can not do anything at this time, you can go and talk to the customer service Supervisor.

? I went to the supervisor at the Turkish airline explaining everything happened to us, emphasizing that “if Turkish Airline really care about their customers there is NO way we would have missed this flight. They know that family of 5 people with infant has checked in and in the way to the gate but they have not even bothered to call us on the microphone (internal announcement) for one time. We are simply running late because we got caught in the cue and because Turkish airline attendant made me drop the stroller to different place after we already checked in and he already put a tag on it. I have believed we are Okay since they have not announced our name, also I saw many other people were behind us in the line”. And I continued “however we are still under your policy protection of arriving at the gate 15 minutes or more prior to the flight (showing him the statement on the boarding pass) and you can check the time when we checked in, the time when we reached to the gate, and the airplane log book to indicate when the door was closed”. Also I had explained the baby stroller situation which took about 10 minutes, however Turkish airline attendant should have done it himself or designee since the stroller was already checked in and his responsibility to place where the luggage carrier will pick it up to the assigned gate.

? At the end the answer was “I can not do anything you should go to the ticket sales office”. They have been sending me into circles for two hours with no resolution. However they told me one more thing you can do is call this number [redacted] and file a compliant which it can be resolve in 2 hours while you are still in the airport.

? After some hard time I was successfully speaking with customer service at the number they gave me and filed a compliant with reference number [redacted]. The representative I spoke with has told me “we will call you or send you an e-mail after we investigate your complain and have a final decision or you can call us back after two hours”

? All this time my family were setting at the airport, sleeping on the chairs and I have no resolution or ticket to go back home. I have called that number after 2 hours and they told me call us back in one hour. I have spent 10 hours at the airport calling every one hour, and then every half an hour; but the complaint is always pending investigation because they are waiting on some information from the local officer at Istanbul airport (as they told me). At the end the representative told me you can go ahead and pay for the tickets change fees and if the compliant was valid then Turkish Airline will refund you.

? I exhausted all avenues with no success, at the end I decided to pay the penalty and change my tickets (thanks god I have credit cards on my Wallet, other wise I may have been still in Istanbul with my kids).

? In order to pay cheaper penalty I have changed the flight to another flight next day; taking New York flight and then to Fort Lauderdale FL instead of going to Boston first and then Fort Laudable FL. I had to pay about $1933 (total) instead of $3970. However I had 7 hours transit time in NY instead of 2 hours in Boston, compare to the original flight. The credit statements of these charges for ticket change fees are available (two receipt as we have two different tickets booking as explained before). Note: I have reserved these tickets that night Aug **, 2015 and paid next morning on Aug **, 2015.

? Below are the New Ticket numbers issued by Turkish Airline Istanbul Turkey

(Wife) M.E. New Ticket number [redacted]

[redacted]. New Ticket number [redacted]

(Husband) [redacted] New Ticket number [redacted]

? I took my family to a Hotel at the airport for some rest (after spending 12 hours at the airport with very stressed mind , handling my 3 little kids and my ticket situation with no help from any one and with undesired attitude from Turkish Airline attendants).

? Before I leave the airport I checked with Turkish Airline on my luggage which I already checked in on the first flight, however I got different answer from different people and it seems that there is no protocol or procedure on how things goes for this situations. One told me go to lost and found and ask there, other told me it is in the airport and will automatically be transferred to your next flight. However the most repeated answer was the latter, even the sales ticket office told me the same thing.

? Next day when we went to check in for the NY flight, Turkish attendant told me “ the most safest way for your luggage is to re-check them again to the new flight. You should go and bring your luggage and re-checked them in”. I ask him “where to go” and he told me” to Turkish lost and found office”. He issued the new boarding passes and told me to go and get my luggage and comeback again directly to him without waiting again in line. We were the first people checked in in this flight. Therefore he told me that I should have time.

? I left my family and went to find the lost and found office. After 20 minutes of getting lost again at this airport with no one giving me right direction, finally found it.

? After one hour and 10 minutes looking for my luggage e, the attendant at Lost and Found office told me that the luggage are at the airport but it will take a sometime (may be few hours) to find them. They advise that I should make a report and leave to catch my flight, and they will send my luggage to my address in FL-USA. I made a report for our 8 suitcases and one baby stroller; they have taken copies of my luggage ticket tags from the original flight. The Report number is [redacted]

? I went so I can catch this flight to NY

? When I arrived to New York I have done another report for my luggage as I don’t trust any more Istanbul office. The report number is [redacted]

? The next day when we arrived to Florida we received seven (7) suitcases and (1) stroller, but one suitcase was missing. I called the NY office and they told me it should come the day after.

? I have been calling since then but I have NOT received yet my other missing bag and the report still open.

? Also I called twice to follow up on my complain I made at Istanbul to refund the ticket change fees (Compliant number [redacted]) but the complain still pending. I have not received any correspondence e-mails or other regarding my complaint I made until writing this report. I believe we would have been still in Istanbul waiting for them to resolve my urgent complaint to change my tickets until now if I hadn’t have credit cards with me.

? Despite what happen from Turkish Airline customer service at the ground in Istanbul airport their flight customer service in the air is great. And passengers are treated with much respect; also aircraft is clean and above regular standards.

Conclusion

I have spent some of the most stressful time in my life with this experience flying with Turkish Airline. My feeling when you see my 1 year infant and my 4 years, and 7 years kids suffering at the airport, restless for 12 hours is non compensable. Money is worthless at these situations, however at least I need to get refund of what I have been paid. As I do believe I am not at fault, in addition to undesired treatment of ground Turkish Air attendants at Istanbul airport. I am requesting full refunds of my ticket changes fee and my hotel accommodation for one night; receipts and all other supporting documents are available and will be attached to this compliant. Also I need my lost luggage back or proper compensation (in case was not found). However I prefer to have my luggage back as it contains very valuable stuff to the family, in addition to Gifts, and two expensive shower Nickel Faucets).

I apologize for the lengthy compliant but I have summarized as much as I can; there are many details happened during dealing with Turkish Airline attendants in Istanbul but I am only mentioning what have real effect on the incident. I wish that no future passengers will experience this horrible situation I had been in with my family. Even writing this compliant put me in very hard time just memorizing what happened.Desired Settlement: I hope Revdex.com can help me in getting my refund as stated below, supportive documents are available

Ticket change fee for [redacted] $ 482.57

Ticket change fee for [redacted], [redacted], [redacted], [redacted] $1452.58

Hotel accomedation for one night $ 130.52

Foreign transactions fee (by credit card) $ 43.57

Total $ 2109.24

My lugagge back or Proper compensation ??????

I hope Revdex.com can help get my missing luggage back to me or if not then to get the proper compensation.

I wish that Revdex.com can help to make Turkish Airline change their practice of how handling urgent complains like this situation for the sake of future passengers.

I wish that Revdex.com can help to make Turkish Airline enhance the ground customer service (in Istanbul Airport) as people on my situation is already stressed out and no need for someone to add to this stress by yelling, play ignorant, not listening or show carelessness to your case instead of trying to help you. Therefore future passengers won’t suffer or go through this bad experience anymore. .
