University of Phoenix Reviews (750)

May 29, 2015[redacted]Maricopa, AZ 85138Dear Ms. [redacted], IRN: [redacted]We are in receipt of your most recent concerns as presented to the Revdex.com.  We have conducted an additional review of your concerns and our prior responses.  You presented concern with the cost of Year 4 Residency ([redacted]) and where it is listed as far as cost/justification.  Being that this is 0 credits, our system is unable to show a pre-invoice for this course on our end or on the student’s end (eCampus).  Our advisors have to request an unofficial invoice to be created if the student needs to see something in advance.  Once the student posts attendance at residency the $1700 is then officially invoiced with any applicable tuition reduction.  The cost has been $1700 since 09/01/2011.Our records indicate that you have a workforce solutions tuition reduction of 5%, which would bring your cost down to $1615.  We did find that the price you were quoted, $1578.50, was a calculation error but we can honor that by completing an adjustment once the residency is invoiced. It is our hope that this effectively addresses your questions related to the cost.  We did find that all other matters were addressed in prior correspondence and would encourage you to review all such correspondence accordingly.Unless we receive new inquiries, this will serve as the University’s final response in this matter.Kind regards, Office of Dispute ManagementUniversity of Phoenix  |  cc: Student file; Marie Garcia – Revdex.com

March 26, 2015 Mr. [redacted]952 Littleton Dr, Concord, NC 28025, USRe:  Student IRN [redacted]Dear Mr. [redacted]:We received notice on March 19, 2015 of your complaint filed...

with the Revdex.com concerning your account with the University of Phoenix Online.  In response to your concerns, I would like to offer clarification on the status of your account and provide your official account history.I have researched your account and found you enrolled in June 2014, selecting [redacted] as your primary payment option. The University was unable to facilitate certification of your Title IV loan request as you were no longer in attendance at the time that your funds were able to be awarded.  It is a requirement of the [redacted] that you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program in order to be eligible for any [redacted].  As you were no longer eligible to receive the [redacted] that you had applied for, the cost of your attendance in two weeks of one class became due.The prorated tuition and fees for your enrollment and attendance in one class totaled $1,286.65, as itemized on the enclosed copy of your official account history. Mr. [redacted], after completing a thorough review I find the balance of $1,286.65 to be valid and correct. Your attendance in class is voluntary and constitutes accepting the services provided and your acceptance of the applicable fees. You were provided with the academic and financial policies in the student catalog and upon enrollment. You were also provided with information regarding the costs of tuition upon enrollment. You signed documents for your admissions to the University, which included your acknowledgement of the hardware and software requirements for attendance, and your agreement with the policies provided and the financial obligations associated with enrollment in the University of Phoenix. You may request copies of these and other enrollment documents through the University Services office at ###-###-####. When campus representatives exhausted efforts to collect the balance due, the manager authorized the referral of your account to the [redacted] on October 1, 2014.  As we find the balance valid, your account will remain with the designated collection agency until the remaining balance of $1,286.65 is rectified.  If you would like to remit payment now, please contact a collections representative at ###-###-####. I hope you find this review informative. If you have any further questions, please contact us. Sincerely,[redacted]Executive Account AnalystExecutive Relations DivisionUniversity of Phoenix Online cc: student fileMr. [redacted], Director of Finance

January 8, 2015Ms. [redacted]Canton, OH 44705RE: Revdex.com Complaint ID#  [redacted] IRN:  [redacted]Dear Ms. [redacted]:This letter is in response to the dispute you filed with the Revdex.com (Revdex.com), received December 15, 2014, regarding your account with University of Phoenix.  I have researched your account and found you enrolled in the Associate of Arts in Criminal Justice (AACJ) degree program with University of Phoenix in April 2007 and selected the Financial Aid Plan as your primary payment option. Your 2006/2007 aid year application for Title IV (TIV) federal financial aid funding was certified with an Academic Year/Loan Period (AY/LP) of April 30, 2007 to January 14, 2008 and included a 12/12 credit split. This means you were required to successfully complete 12 credits and meet the calendar and instructional week mid-point of your loan period before becoming eligible for the second disbursement. The first disbursement of $2,000.00 in unsubsidized funds and $1,313.00 in subsidized funds posted to your account on June 18, 2007.  The first disbursement of $1,800.00 in Pell Grant funds posted to your account on June 19, 2007.  The estimated cost of tuition and fees to successfully complete the first 12 credits of the AY/LP was $3,655.00 leaving an approximate credit balance of $1,458.00.  The credit balance was issued to you June 27, 2007 in anticipation of you successfully completing the first half of the AY/LP requirements. You did not complete the first disbursement period when you were out of attendance longer than the allowable days after you completed the April 30, 2007 COM/120 course with a Non-Passing Grade.  The last date of attendance was recorded as August 31, 2011.   The University was obligated by Federal Title IV guidelines to recalculate the loan to determine the percentage of earned eligibility. Students who receive “W”, “WF”, “F” and/or “I/F” grades are not considered to have successfully completed the course(s). These courses are not calculated into the weeks and credits of the academic year.It was determined you completed 34.4% of the first half of the AY/LP requirements.  The University was eligible to retain $2,869.48 of the $5,113.00 in TIV funds received and required to return $2,243.52 to your lender as unearned funds.  The second disbursements were cancelled.  A balance of $343.52 remains outstanding at this time as the cost of tuition and fees were $1,755.00.  Please see below for a general breakdown of the AY/LP.  An account history is enclosed for your records.• Subsidized TIV Disbursement 1 06/18/07 ($1,313.00)• Unsubsidized TIV Disbursement 1 06/18/07 ($2,000.00)• Pell Grant Disbursement 1 06/19/07 ($1,800.00)• Credit Balance 06/27/07 $1,458.00• Application 04/06/07 $     45.00• IT/105 04/30/07 0 Credits $   795.00• R:IT/105 04/30/07 $     60.00• COM/120 04/30/07 0 Credits $   795.00• R:COM/120 04/30/07 $     60.00• TIV Return to Lender 08/27/07 $2,243.52Balance Remaining $   343.52Your attendance in class is voluntary and constitutes accepting the services provided and acceptance and responsibility of the applicable fees.  You had signed documents for your admissions to the University and agreed with the policies provided and the financial obligations associated with enrollment in University of Phoenix.  For class policies please see the "Policies" link on the left side of the classroom. Faculty and student/learners will be held responsible for understanding and adhering to all policies contained within that link.
