Review: I contacted Used Instrument Buyer in April (without doing my homework/research on them, obviously) regarding two instruments we had for sale. They gave me an offer of $280 for both instruments on April 17, 2013. The instruments were shipped on 4/20/2013. I confirmed via [redacted] that they did receive delivery of the instruments, but I have not yet gotten paid for them. Please put these people out of business so they will stop doing business!!!! Review: I sold my [redacted]t to them for the agreed $700.00 and sent the Trumpet to them. This was in February 2013. There was a number of e-mail exchanges where they keep promising payment but they never paid. For the last 4-5 months, they have refused to respond to my e-mails.Desired Settlement: Pay the $700. Review: I sent in a [redacted] a [redacted] lens, and a [redacted] lens on March 21. I was notified by the company that the estimate that they gave me on the internet for 678.81 was confirmed. I received that email on April 5, 2013. I received another email on April 25, that my check was in the mail and should take 5-7 days to arrive. After waiting about 10 days, I contacted the company again, and was told that the check was not mailed, and that they would look into it. I have not heard another thing in nearly a month, and there is no other contact initiated from them in any way unless I contact them. I am wondering if I have been scammed, or if they don't have the money to pay for the equipment. I have asked them to either send payment or return the equipment, but as of yet have received no response. I appreciate anything you might do to help.Desired Settlement: I would either like the payment that they quoted me, or I would like to have my equipment back so I can sell it to someone who will actually pay me for it. Review: On September 24, 2012, [redacted] of Used Camera Buyer agreed to purchase four (4) [redacted] with accessories from me. The agreed upon price is $540.00 and they ([redacted]/Used Camera Buyer) would pay for the [redacted] insurance and shipping charges. On October 17, 2012, I shipped the equipment to [redacted]/Used Camera Buyer, [redacted]. The [redacted] tracking records indicate that the equipment was delivered and received on October 24, 2012 at 9:44 am by someone named [redacted]. As per our agreement, I was due payment within 5-6 weeks. On several occasions I called and emailed [redacted], but my calls were never returned nor emails answered. They received my equipment and ended their communication with me without paying for my equipment.

I have complete records of my equipment including serial number for each. If necessary, I will file a stolen property claim with the State of Virginia authorities.Desired Settlement: Immediate payment of $540 for my equipment.

Review: I had sent an instrument to this company's Used Insturment Buyer service back in May 24, 2013. I followed up with them June 11, 2013 inquiring about the payment that I was to get from them for sending the instrument and was told that it would be the end of July or early August. Review: I had received an online quote for the sale of 3 musical instruments on March 31 2013. I shipped the instruments to them in the required time frame and have yet to receive any check from them for the promised amount. Review: I obtained from UIB (used instrument buyers) a quote for the sale of two flutes. The flutes were delivered to UIB as instructed. I was supposed to receive payment in 3-4 weeks. After 4 weeks I did not receive payment. I attempted to contact the company several times by phone and had to leave a message each time. My phone calls were never returned. I did get an email stating that my messages were received and they were running behind my check should arrive in 6-8 weeks. It has now been 8 full weeks I have not received payment, they still have my flutes. I feel like I have been more than patient, UIB has my flutes they have not paid for them. Review: I have sold used cameras to this company for several years, without a problem. On July 13, 2013, I sent them a camera- I have the [redacted] tracking form confirming that they received it. Since then, I have left several phone messages, email messages, and regular mail letters for them, with only 1 response- an email on September 11th stating that they would look into it and contact me the following week. Review: On March 25th, 2013 I was given a quote for 3 instruments that I sent in. The quote was for an amount of $186.00. Shortly after I sent off the original 3 instruments, I got another quote on one more instrument. That quote was for $800.00. I sent that instrument in on April 18th, 2013. I confirmed through email with a representative that they had received all of my instruments and that I should receive checks within 6 to 8 weeks from when they received my instruments. After about 8 weeks of waiting on the first check of $186.00, I contacted used instrument buyer through email and received a quick response stating that they were a little behind but that the individual would get with the accounting department "tomorrow" and get back to me. He never got back to me, so after a few more emails and voice messages sent, I received an email from another rep who assured me that he would get back to me on the problem. He did get back to me June 13th and he stated that the first check for $186.00 was scheduled to go out on "in a few days" and the second check for $800.00 would be sent on June 25th. On June 21st I started to call and email. When I emailed this rep, I received an auto-reply stating that he was out of the office for 5 days making it impossible to let me know about the mailing. After approximately 10 communication attempts without response, I threatened legal action and finally received an email from the Owner, Seth Schmidt. He stated that he would personally put my check for $186.00 in the mail on June 26th, and he would mail the $800.00 check on July 1st. I requested a tracking number which he did send me for the first check. On July 1st, I emailed him for a status update, no response. I called his personal cell phone, no response. I called their direct line, no response. Then I check out the website and find that they removed their contact phone numbers. Today I have attempted to contact them at all numbers and email addresses that I have, without any response.Desired Settlement: As far as I am concerned, the $800.00 offer is null and void. I am requesting that they provide me with proof of how much they sold the [redacted] Baritone Saxophone for (minus whatever repairs/parts they may have bought), and I want a check for that amount. If you want to run a business and make profits, you do not do it at the expense of your customers.

I received a check for $800.00 FINALLY on Monday, July 8th. I deposited the check and I hope it clears. I have since found the ebay account for usedinstrumentbuyer.com and without doing anything to the instrument, they sold it for over $1800.00. The auction closed on June 7th, a month earlier than when I received this check. I was originally given a mailing date of June 25th for this check and then the owner promised he would personally mail it on July 1st. It was not mailed until July 2nd. I am asking for $25.00 per day past the original date given, until the date that I received the check. That would be a total of $300.00.

Review: Used Camera Buyer buys used electronic equipment. You get a quote for your items and then if acceptable you mail your items to them. They in turn are supposed to send you a check within 6-8 weeks for your items. I received a quote on 5/20/13 for a [redacted] lens 75-300mm zoom and a [redacted] lens 18-200mm zoom for a total of $84.10 to be paid to me. Used Camera Buyer received my equipment on 5/29/13 at 11:47am (within the 10day time frame they require). It is now 9/16/13 almost 4 MONTHS later and I still have not received my check for $84.10. I have emailed Used Camera Buyer 3 times 8/7/13, 8/14/13, 9/9/13 and called them 2 different times and I have not received 1 phone call or email in return to address this issue.Desired Settlement: Please send me the $84.10 owed to me for the two lenses that you received.
