Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: VW Credit made many misrepresentations over the past few months. I made every effort to return the car to the original dealership which they refused. In addition I went to another VW dealership as per their request to have the vehicle returned but they advised me that they had no room in their lot. After going back and forth with VW Credit I was advised that I could bring the car back to VW in Lynbrook as BOB the sales manager agreed to take the car back on behalf of VW credit. I called BOB to confirm and he wasn't in. The following day I spoke with Darnell who advised me that he was in charge of returns and that he was aware of the situation and told me I could have the car brought in today September 20, 2017. After speaking with him I arranged to have [redacted] Towing in my area pick up the car and deliver it back to them. As I was waiting for the private tow truck company to pick up the car I heard noise outside my home and saw a tow truck start putting the car on the tow truck. I walked over to the driver and went to hand him $200.00 for the tow. He stated you don't own me anything I am from the REPO company. VW credit's own actions has now caused my credit to be destroyed and now that they have taking back the car under a REPO they are going to expect me to cover any shortfall. If the dealership that I leased the car from when I first leased it would have taken back the car this entire situation could have been avoided. I have leased many high end cars over the past 40 plus years and I have never had any issue with having a car returned off lease. Upon review of the account, our records confirmed that as a goodwill gesture, Volkswagen Credit did agree to issue a refund of $175.00 plus tax once Mr.[redacted] leased or purchased a new vehicle through Volkswagen Credit. Per our previous discussion with the customer, we will be issuing a refund check in the amount of $187.25. The customer should receive the check via Fed Ex within 1-2 weeks.
